3 days after the official call to be on the transplant list, this evening Fam got the call: they have a liver for littleman. They're about halfway to the hospital and will be there likely until after the new year.
We were told 3-6mo on average. It took 3 days. We are all freaked out from the suddenness. The unexpected. The nerves are real. I'll give updates as we go. What I know now: surgery will be tonight most likely. After surgery, he will be in NICU (average is about 8 days). From there, they stay in the area for minimum 30 days after release from NICU to monitor as he heals.
Wow !! So pleased that he has a liver lined up, sending every positive vibe, good wishes and everything I can to help your Godson and family. Having been through this with my 6 month old DGS just exactly 4 months ago today I know what the road ahead holds for you and all emotions & thoughts going through all your heads, be prepared for him to be in surgery at least 10 hours, there is a lot of micro-surgery involved and then ICU for a while before you hear how he is. So looking forward to hearing how he is progressing, xxxx.

He turned 2 on June 18th so juuuuust shy of 2.5 years.
Also, apparently he tested positive for COVID as well as for the antibodies. His chest xray looked phenomenal and has zero symptoms so they retested to see if it was a false positive. Even doctors were really confused on that. Not sure what will happen or if this is a trial run of transplant now. If he is truly positive, they'll go home and we all quarantine, no transplant. If not, I'm not sure if liver still viable by the time everything is ready to go. We will have to wait and see, I suppose. I'm so nervous for my little man
Thanks everyone for prayers/well wishes/healing thoughts. You have no idea how much it means to all of us
Fingers crossed the positive COVID test is an error. Crazy that this is out of the blue and that no one has been sick.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/23 DNW โ spent last night at MIL's caring for her
11/24 134 โ no exercise yesterday, MIL successfully transferred to a nearby care home, sadly due to Covid no-one can visit for 14 days โ she's in isolation and as she is practically stone deaf phone calls are "challenging" - she refuses to wear hearing aids! Now the process of clearing her bungalow starts. 114 calories in credit.
11/25 134 โ 11.31 miles walked yesterday, incorporated a walk/jog from week 2 of C 2 5K, took me 49.09 minutes, I'll do the same today. 700 calories in credit. And the drama continues !! MIL taken to A&E last night with suspected sepsis, they have admitted her, waiting to find out how she is & whether as she's non covid we can visit, I doubt it, but we need to ask.
11/26 133.4 โ was hoping the gain from a week without exercise and eating of plan would drop quickly! 10.92 miles walked yesterday including walking and jogging 5K in 48.02 mins (and in the rain too!), today I plan on doing day 1 of week 3 of C25K. 909 calories in credit.
11/27 133.4 โ 10.05 miles walked yesterday including completing my 5K yesterday morning in 48.58. When does it become enjoyable to run? I find it such a chore!!! 710 calories in credit. MIL not got sepsis, but a particularly nasty and severe UTI, hopefully only in hospital for a few days, we can't visit due to covid restrictions!!
11/28 134 โ 10.64 miles walked yesterday including day 3 of week3 C25K in 49.38 mins, I know I did my Turkey Trot yesterday, but if we're doing a kick 2020 to the curb then I need to keep jogging/walking! 259 calories in credit, gammon yesterday โ high sodium?
11/29 134 โ 6.58 miles walked yesterday, calories 170 over. MIL discharged from hospital to the care home, restarts her 14 day isolation again.
11/30 133.8 โ 4.06 miles walked yesterday, started clearing MIL's bungalow โ so much stuff; she's a hoarder! I'm going to continue to work through C25K and hope to improve on my time.
12/01 133.4 - 7.42 miles walked yesterday. 514 calories in credit.
12/02
KEEP SAFE EVERYONE . Keep calm โ we're all in this together!

Update: Getting sent home
Second COVID test came back positive (as well as antibodies - really baffling us all). No transplant this time. Back on the list and back to waiting. Hopefully the COVID thing is just a fluke of sorts that they're being cautious about. Nobody feeling ill, no signs of even a small cold for anyone. Crossing fingers it isn't pre-symptom positive testing and that nothing comes of it.
Here's to waiting for round 2 which we will hopefully be better prepared for when the time comes. Thank you all11 -

Oh my goodness, what a roller coaster the process is, so hoping the outcome is good, that no Covid symptoms develop and that another liver becomes available as soon as the quarantine period ends; it would be the best Christmas gift ever xx.5 -

Round 133
Age: 39
Height: 5โ 3โ
SW: 163
CW: 138.8
GW: 125
GW for this round: 138
Round 126 (1): 156 to 153.2 (-2.8 lbs)
Round 127 (2): 153.2 to 150.4 (-2.8 lbs)
Round 128 (3): 150.4 to 148.0 (-2.4 lbs)
Round 129 (4): 148.0 to 146.0 (-2.0 lbs)
Round 130 (5): 146.0 to 144.4 (-1.6 lbs)
Round 131 (6): 144.4 to 139.6 (-4.8 lbs)
Round 132 (7): 139.6 to 138.8 (-0.8 lbs)
Goals for this round:
- Maintain weight at 138-139.
- Run/walk my evening walk with the dog to work up to a 5K by Thanksgiving
11/23 - 139.4 - Not the start I wanted, but Iโm feeling really bloated today so that might be part of it. Iโm also really annoyed that after updating my phone last night, it appears to no longer be receiving workout and step information from my Apple Watch. I hope I can figure it out soon - in the meantime I can enter the workouts manually and change MyFitnessPal to get my steps from Pacer rather than Apple Fitness. Still frustrating though!
11/24 - 138.8 - I switched HappyScale to maintenance mode this morning. It was really bothering me to see the trend line numbers getting smaller and the next goal weight staring at me every time I opened it. Focusing on maintenance for awhile is going to involve a mental shift - but since I havenโt changed my calories or exercise habits, having the scale stall is... frustrating.
11/25 - 138.6 - The Thanksgiving cooking has officially started! I made the gravy and the cranberry cheesecake last night and will do the apple pie and the sweet potatoes today. I hope I havenโt been getting too many extra calories from the tasting and checking as I cook. ๐. I had two fun NSVs yesterday - first, I beat the final boss on my Ring Fit Adventure game! Itโs pretty cool to see how many hundreds of squats and arm presses and other exercises Iโve done over the past 2.5 months I played. Itโs got a new game plus that I will check out starting tomorrow. The second - my wedding/engagement ring fit again! I had to take it off during my pregnancy and never could get it on again. I kept meaning to get it resized, but.... pandemic. I decided to try it again yesterday, and it fits comfortably! So happy!
11/26 - 138.0 - Well, thatโs a nice drop - but itโs not likely to stick given todayโs menu. Happy Thanksgiving to all the Americans in the group - I hope you have a wonderful day remembering all you have to be thankful for. Iโm certainly thankful for this group and the amazing support itโs given over the past few months!
11/27 - 138.2 - I would have been happy with anything under 140, so this is great. I was good about having reasonable portions yesterday, but really only estimated putting things into MyFitnessPal - I wasnโt about to worry about weighing everything this time. And I only had half a slice of cranberry cheesecake (which was still SO DELICIOUS). We did a Zoom get-together with my husbandโs family yesterday and will be doing another with my side of the family this morning. We would have loved to have seen family in person, but it was still a lovely Thanksgiving. Now back on the weight-loss track!
11/28 - 137.6 - Itโs certainly gratifying to see the scale numbers going down again, especially after such large turkey meals the past two evenings. Tonight I get to make one of my absolute favorite recipes - a turkey cheddar broccoli bake that we had after Thanksgiving every year while I was growing up. Iโll lighten it up a little, and have it over quinoa or brown rice - but mainly Iโll just need to be careful with portions. I just hope my kids love it as much as I do.
11/29 - 137.2 - Returned HappyScale to weight loss, since Iโm back on track for the next few weeks. It would be great to lose another 1-2 lbs before Christmas. I did my 5K this morning - wasnโt able to run quite the whole thing so that is the next goal. Hard to believe Iโm probably in the best shape Iโve been since my wedding 15 years ago!
11/30 - 137.6 - Exercised a lot yesterday (5K plus a 2.5 mile hike), but I ate more than usual too. We put up our Christmas tree, which meant hot chocolate with marshmallows. Iโm not going to skip out on family traditions when Iโve had such good progress over the past few months. Like we always say in here - โitโs not a diet, itโs a lifestyle!โ Iโll also eat the last little piece of cheesecake for dessert tonight, so that temptation will be gone. I got my meal prep for the week done - more egg muffins and a pumpkin coconut soup. Letโs end this round strong!
12/1 - 138.0 - Not the number I wanted to see, but itโs ok. Any loss this round is a plus, and weโll see what tomorrow brings.
12/2 -
11/23 - Walked 2 miles yesterday, but at a slow pace (dog wanted to sniff everything. Going to run/walk the full 5K again tonight.
11/24 - Ran 2.6 miles last night at 12:00 min/mile pace. Slow, but that did include stops to let the doggie sniff and poop. ๐
11/25 - Walked 1.57 miles last night
11/26 - Walked/jogged 2 miles with a very reluctant doggie. Going to walk a full 5K tonight to hit my Apple Watch Thanksgiving challenge.
11/27 - Ran/walked 3.25 miles last night - total time of 42 minutes. Would love to do it in under 40 on Sunday (when I wonโt have the dog to slow me down and force stops.)
11/28 - Walked 1.5 miles last night and already did a 3 mile walk with the family today. Will probably jog the 1.57 loop tonight.
11/29 - 5K Day! ๐ฆ I did it! I ran first two miles, then had to walk/run the last one, but my overall time was 37 minutes. Super proud of myself and now want to work up to running the whole thing without stopping. ๐. Guess that will be my โKick 2020 to the Curbโ goal!
11/30 - Rest day to recover from the 5K plus hiking yesterday. New goal is to do a 5K on January 1st - no walking and beat my time from the Turkey Trot!
12/1 - Walked an easy 1.57 miles last night; will try to take the dog on a 2+ mile walk with some jogging tonight.

12/1: 218.2 (-0.2)/28.5 (-0.1). I feel like changing my goal for the week, but I'm not going to cheat. I also feel like I should have known that it would be hard to lose weight during a holiday week. I actually think that I have done pretty well just to stay almost even. I think, if I starve myself tonight (i.e., I stick to my meal plan), that I can even end the challenge with a very minimal loss. Maintainance should have been my goal in the first place. The weekend was pretty rough for me emotionally, even though I feel like a baby for making it such a big deal. I was not invited to my brother's house for Thanksgiving, for the first time ever (it's either at my parents' or my brother's house every year), because of COVID-19 considerations. He invited my parents over (they have regular in-person without-facemask contact with my niece), but I was not included. It just did not feel good. I spent time with my wife's side of the family (all of whom I love very much), but it does not take the sting out of what happened with my brother. I think this may have affected my eating/drinking/well-being a bit during this past week.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

OMG!!! Hope that itโs a false positive and that the transplant can go ahead.
(((Hugs))) and ๐๐ป ๐๐ป ๐๐ป for all of you.1 -

I'm in! Thank you, @GrandmaJackie!
70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. Recovered from back surgery then hip surgery!! Got back to walking then I sprained my ankle. UGH! I was down for 6 weeks with the ankle. Getting back to it slowly.
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.

12/02 133.4 - 6.02 miles walked yesterday, 8 calories in credit. Getting on well with MIL bungalow clearance, everything packed now and sorted, 1 skip filled yesterday. Rooms sorted into awaiting collection from charities, further to go in second skip and large items to be be collected by bulk rubbish removal, all valubles and sentimental items removed - 3 days off until next skip arrives at weekend.
KEEP SAFE EVERYONE . Keep calm โ we're all in this together!

have just not been focused enough over the last month. Weight up and down and no net loss. I'm now going to focus on the average weight for the round as that was very telling at the end of last round.
OSW 88KG
RSW 62.45 kg
Average last round 62.62 kg
Target this round is to lower the average weight.
11/23 62.9kg although a gain is the lowest Monday for a while. Sunday is no track salty food day so I'm happy with this today. Gym done. I'm increasing the cardio over the week to shift some kgs.
11/24 62.9kg time to get that average down. No aerobics tonight so I'm going to swim instead... It's 35C here {95F} so I'm looking forward to it.
11/25 62.7kg excited to be going down again. Gym done and planning to swim again later
11/26 62.2kg. Still crazy hot but gym done and core fitness planned for later.
11/27 62 2kg gym done and in so ready for the weekend! Pretty much maintaining on average after 5 days
11/28 62.45kg. Not ideal but have today to be on it.
11/29 62.4kg
11/30 62.95kg...same as last Monday! Looks like a maintenence round again.
12/01 63kg for the 1st time in ages! Let's hope aerobics shifts it tonight
12/03 62.10kg. Nice drop to end the round. Aerobics was tough!

Committing to 2 hours of cardio a week plus my usual 5 hours of strength training.
Loss this round 0.35kg {0.8lbs}
Average 62.58kg no real loss5
