Hi All,
WEll what a year we have all had. For me I lost my job in March, Fell into depression , Gained an additional 5 stone (70lbs) on top of my already morbidly obese body. So yea its been pretty tough..
Well Christmas i over , I am about to start my own business and I am currently oozing Positivity.
SO here I am, Ideally looking for people in the same sort of boat, Pref Ireland or uk ( same timezone ) but people from anywhere welcome to support each other , chat , and kick *kitten* on this weight.
Im in my late 30s and this is my chance to make a change! lets do this together!

Go on and ooze, gush or leak your positivity all about the place then! Welcome to MFP and what sounds like an amazing set of upcoming months!
I'm Canadian but there are plenty of UKers about too.
Just curious: what are the first steps you'll be taking to make a change with your weight?0 -
Welcome, you should find a lot of support here! And to piggy back on @MaltedTea I find it's easier to make changes when I have a specific game plan to get to my goal. For example, I'm going to exercise 3 days a week, or I'm going to quit drinking soda etc.0

Welcome, fellow Irish resident here (UK blow in). Currently working on a 3 year "Fit by 40" plan after regaining weight lost a couple of years ago.
I highly recommend the Larger Losers group https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/133315-larger-losers
It's a very active group and very supportive.
Best of luck with the new business and your new found positivity.0 -

Hi thank you so much for the welcome . First steps .. so many but being realistic . Coffee gone more water, use the gym equiptment I spent loads of money on. Snacks gone . Lole maybe 2 biscuits instead of a full packet etc etc1 -

Thank you for the suggestion. Wel I have 1 year until I'm 40 , I'm not planning on being skinny or fit but want to be back comfortable . I'm going to join that group. Keep in touch1 -
Hey there, I’m uk based, in Leeds, I’ll send you a friend request. Keep at your game plan once it’s all fully set. Just remember that sometimes it’s going to be so hard you’re going to want to quit but just keep going even if it has to be at a crawl instead of a run some days.1

I'm in the UK too.
I took redundancy in my early 40's and it took me a while to get over that shock mentally and emotionally, get my head in gear and start my own business. Turned out to be a great decision so hope your new enterprise works out well too.
When I lost my weight I used some of the same skills I used in running my own business to create a personal weight loss project plan. The whole idea of skills/attribute analysis, planning, defining progress metrics/success criteria and trying to foresee obstacles to success turned out to be very useful.1 -

I've been through all those emotions and I'm out the other side. Having just completed my business plan I am not like yourself using the same format to do my weightloss plan3 -

Hi there, yes 2020 has been a shitshow. On August 4th I was diagnosed with breast cancer and in the middle of treatment I lost my oldest son on November 5th. I previously lost 50 lb and this year I've done a ton of emotional and stress eating and I've gained 23 lb. I too am looking for friends and support please feel free to add me.1
