Success/Struggles: Took about a 2 month break from MFP - I logged sporadically and took a break from the community pages. Back at it again because a little extra accountability is always helpful. But the good news is that things pretty much stayed where they were, even with lax logging and Thanksgiving and Christmas. Yes there were some days at 167 but if I tightened up my snacking, cut down on the carbs things went back down to normal. Happy New Year everyone!6 -

Successes/Struggles: It's time to make some changes and get that number down a bit. Had a great December (even if it came with the normal Covid-19 restriction challenges). But that also came with some pretty uncontrolled eating and drinking!
I'm proud of my results from 2020. Can't remember a time when I stayed in the 140s for an entire year!
New goal for the near future, get down to 147 by February 27th!

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Some reflections on this past year of maintenance - overall, my average weight for 2020 was 111.6 lb, up from 111.2 lb for 2019. Not a huge variation, but I did struggle in 2020 with maintaining (which I hadn't really had an issue with since mid-2018 when I first entered maintenance). The weirdness of 2020 definitely messed with things quite a bit, as I started working from home indefinitely in the middle of March and continue to do so now. I ate at basically the same calorie level, though perhaps a bit more with starting to do a lot more takeout v. home-cooked meals to support restaurants, but my activity level was slightly less than it used to be (not going into the office meant more time lying around on the sofa while working instead of standing up for a good part of the day, not walking up and down several flights of stairs and a hilly road every day while going into the office, less fidgeting, etc.). I also have not been very motivated when doing workouts this past year, so I was usually not putting in 100% effort into workouts. All small things, but they are things that do add up over time, and I did start to gain some weight during the spring/summer as a result.
I've since made some modifications of increasing my daily step goal from 11k (my usual) ->13k, adding in a 20 minute "stairs workout" inside my apartment building once or twice a week, and adding an extra hundred or so calories into my calorie estimates for takeout meals. I managed to get back down to a better place in my maintenance range by November, though I did see a weight increase in December with my birthday and holidays etc., though this is true every year. I'm going to see where my weight is over the next couple of months to see whether I'll want to make an additional small adjustment - I prefer to be right in the middle of my range (~110-110.5), and my average is a bit higher than that right now.4 -

Success/Struggles: My weight is still up a bit from the holidays, but still on the lower end of my range so it is good and nothing I am concerned about. It has started to come back down from where it was a day or two after Christmas and I would really like it to stay above 113. I say I have been maintaining since December 2017, but looking back I see that I have actually lost about 5 pounds since then so I guess I have been slowly losing these last 3 years. I would like to stay where I am so this year I am going to make an effort not to let my trend go any lower than 113.3 -

Successes: I am back to my pre-Christmas weight – but not surprising as it was a very quiet holiday.
Struggles: None really except the mental struggle of not seeing family over the holiday.
New Year’s Eve was a non-event for me but I did welcome in the New year on Friday with a meal with my boyfriend (delivered from a local pub). Technically we’re not supposed to be seeing each other as we live separately and I’m in a “bubble” with my mum and not supposed to bubble with a third person. However, all three of us are very careful and don’t go anywhere much so we do spend time together. Don’t report me to the Covid police! Then on Sunday I cooked a roast dinner for all three of us.
Tomorrow I am intending to go to my sons to look after the children while he goes to an appointment with his consultant. They should be reviewing his latest scan results and discussing the way forward. He has been having chemotherapy for a brain tumour for 12 months now and life has been very difficult for him and his wife and children. I haven’t been able to support them as much as I would have wanted to over the last few months so I’m going to do this tomorrow.

I have been in my maintenance range since late October, and hit my goal weight of 75kg just after Christmas, rather to my surprise. I plan to maintain for a while at 75 kg, and then perhaps adjust my maintenance weight down to 72 kg (+/- 2.5 kg).
Successes/struggles: I need to start exercising again; I have not done anything since Christmas Eve except some long walks. It will be easier once we take the Christmas tree and decorations down and I have my inside exercise space back! I have also not been tracking my food for the last couple of weeks, but just trying to eat sensibly, watch portion sizes and not over-indulge in Christmas chocolates. That seems to have worked as my weight has stayed pretty stable over the holiday period.1 -

Struggle/Success: Getting through the holidays was a big relief. I am maintaining but I do want to push down to the 54-55kg range rather than 56-57 and what better time than the New Year. With regards to yoga I've got two sets to chose from - one longer, one shorter so there's no "excuse." If I can't fit in the longer routine which is best, I can just opt for the shorter and still feel like I've knocked it off.3 -

I’d like to lose a bit to get back to 70 kg, but I’m still happy at around 75 kg.
I’m experimenting with seeing how my satiety levels are in relation to the types of foods I eat. Trying to eat more whole foods, which I’ve been getting pretty good at, and less sugar, and it’s going quite well.

I walked a lot this week, and yesterday and today I rested due to my hip hurting and for general well-being.
I’ve been under my calorie limit every day so I can lose a bit to get back to within my range, but I"m not setting a MFP goal to lose weight at this stage, as I don’t need the pressure.

Success/Struggles: I had a wake-up call this Monday when I clocked in at 168.2 after a long weekend of polishing off all the Christmas treats still lingering in the house. It was a reminder that while a day of indulgence doesn't do a lot of damage, a 3 days of indulgence is too much. So, I got my act together, tightened up my logging and got back down to where I should be, so my average for the week was within my range.5 -

Success/Struggles: Some hip issues (bursitis?). Shortening walking distance. Ice. Etc. Shifting off some some new bad habits, so scale dies not creep up. Should be okay. I dealt with high weight last year during this week & fooled around with it for 2 months. I don’t want to do that now, so changing. High weight is 7 lbs below 2021’s high weight.
I keep reminding myself that if I overeat, I will need to diet - and I hate to diet, so that helps me make the shifts.

My weight has plummeted this last week – too low now but life is difficult. My son’s brain tumour has worsened in the last few months. They didn’t tell me because they didn’t want to worry me and of course I haven’t been able to see him. It was shocking to see him and hear what has been happening. The consultants are now saying there is no realistic treatment for him. The prognosis is poor. We are in turmoil. I can’t write any more.11 -

Struggle: I am stuck at a higher weight. I can eat a little less or a little more and it stays at the same number. To get back to the goal weight I will have to either lower my calorie goal or increase my exercises. I guess that is obvious.

It's been a while since I've checked in. I've had a lot of time squeeze (and, frankly, mental squeeze) in the last few months as the hospital has filled up and work hours lengthened, which has made regular check-ins go by the wayside.
Challenges: Strength training continues to lag. Like, moreso. A small part of this is not having access to free weights, etc, at the gym; the larger and more honest part is a lack of get up and go. I have resistance bands, dumbbells, and my own body so I need to get back into it.
Successes: I've managed to run at least six days a week, kept my activity/steps high, and my weight stable. My pre-Christmas present to myself (and from my family, or so I told them - they were happy to get out of trying to figure out what I actually might want) was a treadmill. It's gotten a lot of use as the weather has gotten colder, as I'm a total weather wimp. I've gone on several hikes, but running in the cold is just miserable to me! This week marks three years since I started losing weight, which is a nice milestone. The best success, though, was getting my first vaccine dose on the 26th.
@lesdarts180 I am so, so sorry to hear of your son. I know this has been an ongoing struggle for you, and it is heartbreaking to hear things have worsened. You are in my thoughts, and I hope you are able to see him and have time together.

Lost to 81 kg at Easter 2020 (top of normal bmi for me), but then gained back to 88 kg in April/May (Easter egg binge; lock down closed the pool...).

I have been in my maintenance range since late October, and hit my goal weight of 75kg just after Christmas, rather to my surprise. I plan to maintain for a while at 75 kg, and then perhaps adjust my maintenance weight down to 72 kg (+/- 2.5 kg). However, given how long it took me to lose from 77.5 kg, I am wondering if this range is too large. Ideally I would like my rolling averages to be coming out as 75 kg +/- 0.5 kg, and I am not (quite) there yet.
Successes/struggles: I have joined an online fitness club with Bodyfit by Amy, but still have not done any exercise since Christmas Eve except some good long walks. The decorations will come down today, so I shall have my inside exercise space back which will help. I have also not been tracking my food since Christmas but I seem to be managing to eat sensibly, with reasonable portion sizes and maintain even whileeating a few Christmas chocolates. I had a big project that went in last night (or early this morning...). I look forward to earlier bed times! That might help my energy to exercise in the mornings.1 -
