JUST FOR TODAY -- Daily Commitment Thread for 2021

I guess I didn't post goals today?
I reckon I "posted" them mentally haha
So they were
- Water Challenge ✔️ (My challenge is just 4 cups atm so I can gradually increase)
- Log all food ✔️ technically I'm over in calories too, but my calories are low at 1250 per day so being only a couple of hundred over is still in deficit so I'm happy with that.
- Exercise ❌ I couldn't today. I've been so busy I just got really tired and I could tell the difference of not wanting too because of my emotions and not wanting to because of the physical feeling in my body. The 5 min ab work out I did yesterday has certainly had an affect, my abs and arms are sore today (from holding a plank) however, I am going to create a weekly workout plan consisting of cardio, abs and bum.
- watch TEDTalks ✔️ watched a few, some good others not so much but still glad I watched some. There was a good one, about how our mind works in changing our behavior and habits.
It used examples of how negative things (for example the pictures on cigarette packets) have little affect. Where as if you offered a positive outcome (other than Smoking will kill you) such as "if you stop smoking you'll find it easier to take part in sports" then people are more likely to quit.
So instead of thinking, if I don't lose weight I'll have a particular health problem (negative) instead think if I lose weight, I'll fit in my clothes better, I can feel more confident, I won't be self-conscious.
Our mind wants instant rewards so we respond better to positive statements because a reward is something positive.
On another note, Marley tripped over today (despite me saying don't run) she fell onto her knees, onto her face then flipped right over her head right outside school. I took her back to the car to assess the damage and decided despite living a 2 minute drive away that she needed first aid immediately so I ran her back into the school and they sorted her enough to get home. Her knees a mess with a deep cut, and her nose and head are grazed terribly. But she's in good spirits now.
Tomorrow I might go for a walk either by myself or with the dog. Give myself a bit of headspace because since 3pm til 9pm they took up every single second of my time lol2 -

So so true @Bex! I hope you get that walk in .. for me... my walking is more mental therapy than exercise. I miss it when I can't get out. Just the sunshine... time to be alone... and clear the mind! Hope little Marley is OK!0 -

I GOT TO HUG MY BEST FRIEND TODAY! It's been over a year but we're both fully vaccinated and were comfortable with it. It was glorious. Wow do I miss hugging! Had to call my sisters out for just some poor communication and repeatedly blowing me off for plans. It was hard to do but I tried to be honest and respectful. It was just getting to a point where it was ridiculous and I was about to blow. Those conversations are always tough, but I am glad I got it off my chest. Happy weekend all!

Then tonight hubby and I are doing our postponed date night.
Only down is that I’ve messed my knee up pretty good. On day 3 of pain and it’s still swollen to twice the normal size. Ugh...

I was doing so well for like a month. And then everything went completely off the rails. My problem is that I get so hungry on my way out of work that I feel like I always need to munch on something on my drive home. And it has to be something either crunchy or sweet. And it's almost always absolutely terrible for me. I actually just realized that apples can be crunchy and sweet! (This is in bold so that I remember it! Lol)
But it's no surprise that I'm up 5 lbs in like 3 weeks. Even with all the calories I've been burning at work. My water intake has also been slacking the last few weeks too.
Oh! So our terrible manager is no longer at the store and it feels like a huge weight has been lifted from everyone's shoulders. I've worked with our actual store manager my last two shifts and it's a completely different feeling. And he comes back full time to our store the Monday after Easter. So just 2 more weeks! Everyone is really really excited! Lol
Okay, onto some goals!

Keeping this short because the weekend FLEW by and I am beat. Got to have my sisters over for the first time in months (we're all vaccinated and being very safe) and it was really nice. But where did the weekend go! My apartment got a nice deep cleaning to prepare for the visit. The downside of rare visitors has been reduced cleaning lol!

Solid week. Down 2.4#. Averaged 1948 calories, walking a fine line on my 2K commitment but I'm there. Lowest week for working out with 5:14 including 3040#, 400 crunches, 80 push ups and 160 lunges. Averaged 44 minutes a day
