Trying hard to change my mindset into a more positive one Been having some boughts of insomnia, with all the stress the past couple weeks. Looking forward to easing the stress hopefully before the end of the month...wish me luck and please send any suggestions my way!!!

            Colors!
Home: If I could fully decorate my home, it would be in these sorts of colour schemes:
Clothing: I wear a lot of black ... not white! But after a few people commented about how much black I wear, I've tried to branch out in recent years to include the cool colour range, plus reds & corals. That said, right now I'm entirely in black.
Oranges, yellow greens and so on, don't do anything for me.

Good morning and Happy Easter to all who celebrate..
Got quite a bit of sleep on and off from yesterday and into this morning.. got the meal worms out for the birds.. and i am getting dressed..woke up early.. but will try and get outside for some fresh air today...
Wondering if the laziness and tiredness was a side effect a bit late from the shot..I cant complain as I really had no ill effects..

Just got my booking for my 2nd vaccination on 15th April. Pfizer.
 I am so, so happy!
DH was really grumpy this morning as he hadn't got a text, but his has just arrived. He is making heavy weather of booking it!
Done! We are on the same day 15 mins apart, but they'll probably put us in together. It will be ten and a half weeks since the first one.

Happy Sunday/Easter to all! Having no little ones in the house, I completely forgot about planning Easter dinner. My weekend to do list is comprised of getting ready for next week's big kids (due to Spring Break). So...I picked up some pre seasoned pork shoulders at the store and have them in the crock pot now, so that we can have carnitas tonight for dinner.
Debbie- Sorry to hear of your kitty! Love and hugs to you and your DH
Michele- Sorry your Easter isn't going as planned. Your comment of Jess and the pre-made lasagna, sounds a lot like my youngest. Colin very rarely will eat a leftover. He likes his food "freshly" made. I no longer cater to that side of him. lol (It is part of my plan to make him a little more uncomfortable at home; so he is ready to move out)
Machka- Every time you post your map of where you have ridden; I am reminded of the second to last episode of Sherlock, when he tells off his brother (who is tracking him) in a walk. lol What would you spell out on a ride, if you could?
Also: the last three colors in that first panel (the one with the big wave) are the current colors of my living room (the vibrant blue), my kitchen lower cupboards (upper cupboards are white) and baseboards throughout the house (the slate blue/gray), and my entranceway and kitchen (the lighter gray).
Well, I have to get some things done, then I think I will get out in the sunshine for a walk. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)1

Debbie so sorry for your loss.
Dr Katie, I think Flomax has the side effect of men fainting when they get up at night. My father did.
 Happy Easter everyone!

Heather - congratulations to you and Johnny. It will be a relief to get the second dose.
Michele and Kelly - I wonโt eat leftovers except certain things. Lasagna is one that I enjoy reheated though.
I donโt like food that sits or is cold when it should be hot either.
We are not doing anything for Easter today, I was thinking of going to grab the Grands for the afternoon, but they had supper with their other grandparents last night. Their Papa is retired and not taking risks, but their Nana works at the local hospital as a cleaner and Iโm not as sure she is careful. I am vaccinated but Rodger isnโt. Also, I can still carry it and working at the home I donโt like taking risks.

Rori: Happy Easter! We have no plans, either. We did get ourselves an Easter presentโnew printer ink cartridges. Our printer works again!!!
Tracey: The flea market outing sounds like fun. It has been a long time since weโve been to an auction or a craft fair. Iโm happy that you and your DH had fun together.
Debbie: Iโm so sorry for the loss of your beloved kitty. Our fur babies are so important in our lives.
(((Dr. Katie))): I am sorry that your DH is unwilling to go to services with you, although I can understand his reluctance to go. :flowerforyou:
Kim: Iโm sorry that your momโs situation is difficult and impacting your business. Good news that youโve had your first Pfizer vaccination. We have had our second vaccinations and are both now done with it. YAY!!!
Kate UK: I hope your planned trip to Spain helps to energize your DH. Having a bit of fun is good for everyone.
 Lynnetteperez: Welcome!!! :flowerforyou:
Heather: What fun to see your family riding bicycles to school in the news! We have both had our second Pfizer vaccinations. It is nice to know that weโve done as much as possible to stay healthy.
Allie: Enjoy your plants and flowers!
For the past months Iโve been the gofor in the family, go for groceries, go for cleaning supplies, go for vitamins and dog food. Yesterday I finally got DH to go with me to get printer ink cartridges. YAYYY!

Ahhh... company has gone back to where they came from - just my son-in-law and grandson for the weekend - they came down to drop off their camper for us to use as an extra bedroom and to store for them. When a 9-year-old boy tells you he wants to stay with you and help you plant things, and play with you, it's a heart filler--lots of hugs for him before he left.
Shopping was done early, and laundry is in, but that is where my energy ends. I've been up since 4:30, and I'm beyond tired. Time to sit and/or take a nap.
Debbie - I am so sorry for your loss. So hard to lose them.
 Later, y'all,
 Love,

Good day to all. It's foggy and cool today. Yesterday was ridiculously hot. Usually by this time of morning, I can clearly see our canyon. I cannot see much past our deck railing at the moment.
I had company this week, so have spent the weekend just hanging out. Entertaining exhausts me. Today, I will go to a new to me farmer's market. I don't often go to farmer's markets as the products are just insanely expensive, but I've wanted to go to this particular location for years and just haven't made it. It's a 30 minute drive and to not get there early, means too many people. I like seeing what creative items, mostly food products, people are making.
I am preparing to go on an overnight camping trip. A friend asked me and I thought it would be fun. I have not been camping in 25+ years, so it'll be interesting to see how I feel after. I dug out my tent that I've had for 30+ years and shockingly, it is still in good shape. I just need a few more stakes and cord to fix the rain fly. I'm sure I will have the worst aches and pains after, but at least it'll be a nice time with my friend. We will hike the following day to work out the kinks.
Speaking of kinks, I woke up yesterday with terrible upper back pain. I have no clue how. How is it that as we get older, aches and pains occur in our sleep?
I'm eating meatless this week (just because) and not eating after 4pm. I want to see if I can ditch a few pounds that crept up and I have been ignoring. It'll give me a chance to experiment with new veggie dishes. I am very fond of roasted veggies, but I also like to cook and try new things. Hopefully I can find interesting veggies at the farmer's market.
 Welcome to the newbies.
Debbie-So sorry about your kitty. Kay-Wow, what an ordeal for your husband. I hope he gets better quickly! Rori- Hang in there.

Dr Katie - I can really empathise with you and your DH. Mine has to get up many times a night to dribble out. At least he now sits down after his terrible fall last July. Plus, he is wheezy in bed. He is thoroughly fed up with it.
We had a great time in the garden with the grandchildren. Lots of noise and arguments and a very annoying dog, but it felt almost like normal. Edie had a big sulk and then poured water over her head. We were served hot cross buns and tea. We were served hot cross buns and tea.
DH actually said he wouldn't mind booking a cruise for next spring! Yippee!
I discussed my LPA and the cleaner's price hike. All good.
Now to settle down for dinner, Antiques Roadshow and Midsomer Murders.

Walking home we saw people meeting up in groups of socially distanced six in their front gardens. One or two were clutching a glass of wine.
Lovely weather today, bright sunshine, even if a bit chilly in the shade.
 Hope springs up.

Rebecca, in a spoiler since it's kind of TMI.we've been to the ER and the Urologist. He had a catheter at first. Now he is doing something called intermittent self-catheterizing. He does what he can then caths to finish it up. He can stop cathing when the majority is coming out on its own. They also gave him Flomax (I think that's the right drug) to help. My guess (from reading Dr. Google) is that there's some prostate surgery in his future. Part of the joys of getting old.
It will be sad to go to the Easter service by myself. At least the sunrise service is still virtual, so we can watch it together at home in our sunroom, which faces east. Last year, when we weren't meeting at all, we went for a walk for our sunrise service, but it is too cold this year. I am too wimpy. I have to wait on the sun to come out. The grandkids are coming up to the farm to hide eggs. I'll go up there, but Dave will probably stay home from that, too.
 thank you.
I will be going to Easter service(first one in over 6 months) by myself. I would like my husband to go with me but not going to push it. He hasn't had his second shot, getting it Tuesday, and the last time we went they were not doing what they should-only 3 people had masks on besides us, they were sitting too close together. So, we stopped going. We went when church first opened up, wearing our masks when there were fewer people and they sat every other pew, more people coming now so we shall see how it goes. They are even doing a fried chicken pot luck after service this morning. I will not be staying.
I will come home and cook a ham, mac and cheese, asparagus and deviled eggs.
 Happy Easter Ladies
and thanks again for all of the messages.

I enjoy some time with the tv off but not almost a whole week. My husband turns a tv on as soon as he gets up and falls asleep with one on. What ever room he is in, immediately the tv is turned on. He even turned the kitchen one on while he did the dishes which took only 10 min. I am on my computer too much- need to work on that for sure.
He is on his phone, laptop and has tv on all at once all the time. Need to get him out walking with me a little more often. If I have the tv off in the living room while I am on my computer, he will walk in the room and ask, don't I want the tv on?, No, enjoying the quiet. During the day the daycare girl watches her shows so in the evenings I enjoy quiet.

I have gained 20 lbs since the pandemic and really I'm sick of looking at myself, and hearing my doctor say you need to lose weight. so I'm giving this another chance. I was doing over 400 min a week now I barely do 150. can someone help me get started?
@MadlynCarr -I feel you. Congratulations for being ready to do something! You have made the first step! First: arthritis needs exercise. To help us hurt less, move more. Even a tiny bit of exercise can be our start. Due to medical issue, I start with 600 steps as a goal. I know this is pitiful, but I am happy to be able to walk this far:-). I cannot do this everyday, but each day I try to add something. So 600 steps is a win, 601 is even better! No joke:-). And re: weight loss-what we eat is important, too. Since February 22, I have lost 9.6lbs. No sugar/processed food is the goal, but there have been a few slips along the way. I am not concentrating on what I cannot have, but instead I focus on what I need to eat more of---protein, leafy veg, water. It has made all the difference. Still have 30 pounds to reach my main goal, but I celebrate the small ones-every five pounds.(Not with 'food', just a "Yay me!", but a small 'treat like new nail polish, or a larger one, like a new accessory, would be awesome!) I don't beat myself up when I slip either: just keep going. Wishing you all of the best! Please keep us posted on your progress!!!2

Welcome Lynette from Florida! This a great band of ladies from all phases of their weight journeys. Many has gotten to their goal weight, yet continue on, because even the journey of maintenance needs encouragement. We talk about our daily lives, weight loss seems the least of our worries, yet checking in, puts us in a good mood to tackle our daily activities. At least I know it does for me.
Some tips for me has been to "make a bed of veggies" for my meal to sit on. Whether it be pasta, or ramen, my go to is fresh spinach. I normally just spritz it with water, and put in microwave for a few seconds just to wilt it, then season it with some Italian dressing. Then put my pasta over. Its an easy way to pump up your meal. With ramen I just put it in a bowl, plain, and chopped up. Pouring the hot noodles and soup is enough to wilt it. When thinking about what I want to eat, I always concentrate on the protein first, then veggie, and then carbs to make it interesting. So like for a great simple meal, its some kielbasa sausage cut up, then zucchini and spinach, and then some wild rice, or potatoes. You got this!
