Hi everyone! I’m new to this form and I’m excited to focus on my health. I formed some not so healthy snacking habits during this past year. Now, I’m ready to get rid of any “Covid cushion”. Thanks in advance for the motivation and support. congratulations to everyone for focusing on their health.

Working out is great for improving fitness, but weight loss happens in the kitchen. Focus on that and success awaits!
Thank you! Since I started logging my meals I have noticed a difference 😀.6 -

Another week done! Not too bad but not where I wanted to be....but will take almost a pound. I think I need to drink lots more water than I do. Have been keeping the calories under 1400...most of the time around 1200-1300. Today I actually googled how many calories are in a Dairy Queen Peanut Buster Parfait...would you believe 710??? Trying to convince my hubby to get one and let me have a few bites..lol!
If you are looking for a replacement for butter for eating on toast, etc. Look at Mascarpone cheese. 60 calores for 1 TB vs. 100 for butter. Smack a bit of sugar free jam on it and I swear it is a good fix for a danish!
Stay focused and have a great week!

Been at my new job for 2 weeks and very happy there, I think this helps rather than being stuck at home, I’ve also broken through the snack barrier and not wanting to have extra snacks, still need to increase water intake, no exercise done just calorie control for now aiming for around 1200-1400 a day. This is the 1st month I’ve actually focused on trying to lose weight and it’s working, very motivated and looking forward to the future weeks to come x 😀😀10 -

The scale is a mirror into (part of) what I do each week. It does not define me, it merely gives me feedback on how well my efforts are helping me reach my goals. The scale is not the enemy any more than a blood test is an enemy. The enemy is hidden in the choices I make -- walk or binge watch Top Chef? Chips & onion dip or veggies & low cal dressing? A bag of chips or "a 10 chip portion"? Soda or beer or unsweetened tea? Yoga or that extra 30 minutes of sleep? Finish up those jelly beans or just don't? There is nothing inherently wrong with either side of any of these choices. But they are choices. And they impact the results I see on the scale. The scale tells the truth and is therefore my friend, even when that truth is not welcome.

Well, we took a mini vacation over the weekend and I had some meals that really didn't fit into my calories. Even though I ran every day, I managed to pack a couple of pounds on. But, the last couple of days have gotten me back on track and managed a small loss. So, we'll take that.

I haven't been drinking much water the past couple weeks and I think it shows. I had two days at 167.2 and one at 166.7 before jumping up above 168 again. Gotta keep up a deficit and the scale will move eventually. NSV, my work pants are getting too big. I might be able to fit the next size down, if not now, then soon.8 -
