Nothing is really wrong, just a lot of niggles that build up and start to get to me. When I start dwelling on things I just have to get up and read, or write to you.
I still need to get DH on board with financial disclosure and LPA. I haven't broached it recently.
DH spent a lot of time last night filling in forms so that he can go to the cricket when it opens to members after May 17th. That's the date when the next phase of opening up the country starts - inside dining etc. Each day is a separate form and you have to write who you are going to sit with etc. They are only allowing limited numbers into the ground.

Don't you (UK) have a check in app? We (Tasmania) have one which we have been encouraged to use and which is supposed to become mandatory tomorrow.
I say "supposed to" because we also have a state election tomorrow so who knows what will happen.

Today I am giving away the rain barrel I made from a pickle barrel while taking a master gardener course, and will send the high chair my grandfather made 100 years ago to a cousin in Nebraska who will appreciate its history. Making progress, but lawdy we have a lot of stuff.

Heather ((hugs)) for your “niggles”. I’ve been having a few too, unusual for me. Maybe working on your LPA triggered? I think working on the Just In Case binder for Joe has triggered mine. I’ll try to channel you and your shuffle running. It always makes me feel better.
Karen would you share a pic of your pickle barrel/rain barrel? That high chair is beautiful, your grandpa was quite a craftsman!
Need to get to sleep. In addition to end of month weigh in tomorrow am, meeting T early for a minus low tide beach walk.

Barbara - Yes,thinking about death and decay has made me feel old! Then I can worry about anything!
However, I got out of the house this morning and walked to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. Then I went to the deli to buy lovely organic vegetables for tonight. Then I made my first visit since the shops opened to the flower shop. Bought flowers and three birthday cards to put in reserve.
Great to be out and about and fully vaccinated!
We have offered to have Edie over for a 1 to 1. She missed out in the holidays because she was at football club. Still got to discuss a time, but it will be lovely to do some Art with her.
Over 40s can now be vaccinated so my DDIL was getting very agitated trying to find a slot nearby. She's now got one at the race course next week. Hooray! My son is already booked in.
Machka - The government seems to be resisting an app, but no doubt will have to give in. At the moment there are no public sporting events. No indoor socialising. That starts on May 17th. I think they are hoping everyone will be jabbed soon enough for it not to matter. Rates are now extremely low. There is no one in hospital in Brighton with covid. No older people even have it.

We haven't had any locally transmitted cases for a year now, and we're been pretty much open for business and back to the way things were (normal?) for months, so I am a little bit surprised that this app will be required starting tomorrow. But currently there are several different location apps being used by different businesses so maybe this is just trying to get a bit of consistency.
Fortunately we only have to use it if we're staying in a place for more than 15 minutes.
Sometimes at lunch, when the weather isn't very nice, I wander in and out of shops in the malls so I was a bit worried that I'd have to check-in at each shop ... bit of a pain! But it's OK, I can wander in and out. If I time things right, I probably wouldn't have to check in anywhere at lunch!
We have all been given office QR codes which we've got on our desks, so I will have to check in there.

Yes my mom's blood pressure is dangerously high - stroke or heart attack level. I'm surprised the cardiologist didn't send them to the hospital. The nurse who gave us the blood pressure monitor seemed unsurprised to see it at 192. She's getting blood work to check for kidney damage. It's all very serious to me.
But my dad takes his cues from my mom, who is losing touch, and copes by forgetting it all. I can't get them to ER if they refuse to go. I will watch for an opportunity though. Just hope it's not a stroke. I guess I better review the warning signs.

Lisa - Yes, the move is permanent
Barbara - No, fortunately my husband is NOT retiring yet. We're moving because the director of his institute wants him at the main office as a sounding board. I still have a couple years before he's around constantly. He's a lovely man, but I've got a strong need for solitude once in a while.
I was going to say I'll miss the distinct seasonal contrasts of the High Arctic when we move south. But here's what we've got right now in the Low Arctic:
We flew down yesterday with the intention of changing to summer tires. Studded winter tires are prohibited after the first of May.
We plan, God laughs.
Nonetheless, we fully expect to be able to sow seeds in the garden to the right of this snowy hill in just three weeks. When spring comes here, things really move fast!
So I guess I shouldn't complain that the seasons are too similar. Still, I AM going to miss the purity of Svalbard's treeless landscape, the tiny but resilient tundra plants, and above all, the joys of a close-knit community. I've never lived in a smaller town. It's incredible how lively a place it is.
The snow has let up so I'm going to try putting a few more kilometers on my running shoes.

You sure do seem to do a lot of laundry. I do two loads and sometimes three a week! LOL
I have been watering my new sod every day and just pray that it roots and takes over. It is zoysia and should do well but I'm not sure it is the same brand as the ones I sprouted years ago. That was a lot of work putting small plugs all over the yard but they looked great at one point. Since I haven't been taking proper care of them for the last few years I needed some sod replacements for bare areas.

Laundry --
I do one load a week. That's including work wear, exercise wear, evening & weekend comfy wear and sleep attire!
My husband does his own, I think he also does one load a week.
And then we'll do a load or so of extras like sheets, towels, etc. once every 2-3 weeks. Sometimes, if I've got room in mine, I'll throw my pillow cases in.
Wash and hang dry everything.

I’m working on my 5 year review this week. So far it’s looking very encouraging. I’ve been doing these since my mid-forties. I find that looking back at what my goals were helps me focus on positive progress. My last one was in 2016, just over a year after I started on MFP. It's very encouraging so far.
Lisa: - would so love a hot tub! I'm even contemplating getting an inflatable one.
Annie: - Sorry to hear about your parents prang! Hope they are okay.
Mach Karen: - You live in such a beautiful place.
Penny: - 8 years ago we spent several days in Tromso in February on our Northern Lights cruise. It had been quite a mild year, and there was no snow in the town at all, and all the ice sculptures had begun to melt. All the festive decorations were still up in the town. We attended a wonderful evening service in the cathedral. I have very fond memories of our visit and the friendliness of the local people.
We're contemplating going out for an afternoon walk with our youngest and one of her dogs. It's sunny but cool outside.
Can't believe it's May tomorrow.2 -
I usually do one load a week.. all depending on towels and blankets .
We have a wind advisory today but have the window open about 6 inches to get the fresh air in, but supposed to be in the 30s tonight
I dropped Dan off and have Homer here with Alfie
Rebecca- how you feeling today? Sometimes that procedure knocks the stuffing out of you..1 -
Barbie: I love the cartoon! Thank you for sharing.
Penny: “We plan, God laughs.” It certainly seems to work out that way fairly regularly. Your photograph is beautiful. It has been a long while since we’ve had any snow.
