Getting the Oklahoma Joe’s smoker ready to go to BBQ some pork short ribs and have a cookout for myself.
I gotta get my grilling , BBQ’ing, and smoking game up to par for July 4th. 19 confirmed, and a couple few tentative, peeps coming from as far away as 600 miles. I throw some hella great 4th of July parties. Or so I’ve been told.4 -

🤗 its the same for most everyone, it takes a while to learn a new grill.
You saw my ribs, it took me a long time and a few disappointments to get the ingredients and way I like them just right.

😆 they sound more like they are being strangled when they first crow. Out of the last batch of chicks I now know there are at least 2 roosters, they have just started to crow and its pathetic 😂2 -

My chicken (marinated in pickle juice) and then breaded and grilled suddenly sounds so pedestrian2 -

I was going on there and noodling until I found out about these guys. Lol.
These have to be close to the upper sizes they get round here.
So, funny story. I was hogging around the pond. Cleaning up cattails and brush. And I came across a red winged black bird nest. Had 5 eggs on it. I was checking on it then the hatched. All good. A couple days later there was one and it looked fully feathered. I thought it was the mamma. I got too close and it tried to take off and landed in the pond and started trying to fly out but couldn’t. Went straight for the other bank across the middle of the pond. I went FBR. I think I was chatting or on the phone with someone and I was like got to go! I jumped in and rescued it. Turned out it was the bully of the 5. The only one with feathers.
Later I was liked, hmmm, that wasn’t smart considering I ain’t got the water cleared and I know there are snappers in here. Later ol’ girl reminded me I shouldn’t have done that.
So, i rescued a bird from certain death.

Relieved. Ortho Dr figured out what was wrong. Been dealing with elbow pain for a while. I have a small tear in my elbow. Cortisone shot and meds and hopefully I’m good to go.
His advice…. Don’t be a dumb *kitten*. If it hurts stop doing what’s your doing. Put down the weed wackier, chainsaw, etc, and ice it. Lol.5 -
