Day/Weight/Comment
6/01- 146
6/02 - 146.5 - I hope this is the end of my long weekend bounce. Back to work, more water, and less food.
6/03 - 146
6/04 - 146 - I was hoping for a drop before the weekend. I guess I'll have to watch my eating a little closer than usual on Saturday and Sunday.
6/05 - 147
6/06 - 148
6/07 - 146 - Water retention hit over the weekend. I'm happy to see this weight to start the week.
6/08 - 146.5
6/09 - DNW
6/10 - 144.5 - Stayed overnight in a hotel on Cleveland Clinic campus Tuesday night to be near the hospital in case of a bad reaction to his first chemo there. Got home yesterday and so far he is doing OK. I ate some pretty good food at the hotel restaurant so I'm surprised at the drop. I'll see if it catches up with me tomorrow.
See you next round!

Today, my home page, food, and exercise pages won't load but community will just fine. It's the app and the website on the computer. Everything is all updated (app wise at least) but just won't load. Keep getting error. Uggggh I want to track my food and water before I forget!
Oh yeah, I've had problems loading random pages. Yesterday it was the exercise and food pages that wouldn't work. So frustrating and so aggravating.1 -

6/6 187.5 (well, that little black chiweenie dried off in no time out there, and we barely went for half an hour before wandering slowly home, stopping often in the shade. Time to move the walk to the mornings right after chores I guess, and hope all the bears are tucked up somewhere. I found a small elm tree in the woods. They're so rare and so beautiful. And I have found an ash tree as well, but the leaves are just coming out and I can't tell what kind of ash it is until it leafs out (probably a white ash).
6/7 187.0 (heat warning out there today so of course I have to go fetch 50 bales of hay and stack it in the barn (by myself). It's excellent exercise though and the mares will be "helping" make the work lighter by sampling each bale. And I can take rests. There's no rain in the forecast and I can get fairly close to the barn with the truck. But best news at my place is that 2 days ago a pair of barn swallows suddenly showed up and they are working on making a nest under the eaves in the mares' run-in shelter. This is late for them and I can only suppose that their first nest was destroyed, poor things. Barn swallows are having a tough time of it in Nova Scotia, where I live, so I am delighted to have a pair show up and I sure hope that they stay. At least I know that there are lots of bugs around for them. They are not happy about me having to pass under their nest twice a day, but they're still building, so I'm pretending not to notice them. )
6/8 186.5 (hay stacking went very well, and I did it in 2 bouts and drank lots of water; started my repeat of c25k week 2 just before the sun disappeared behind the trees for the day; barn swallows still busily building away at their nest, and it's coming along very quickly - these guys are experts. I have to see the exhusband today, to do him a favour. I'm sure he always sneers at how fat I am and feels very superior, and it's not my imagination. I didn't just leave him on a whim! Take care everybody, and if it's as hot where you are as it is going to be here again today, stay safe, and keep your critters cool and comfortable!)
6/9 186.5 (Awe, I knew that 3-day streak of losing half a pound per day couldn't last forever; big thunderstorm in the afternoon and my (rural) internet kicked me out of a meeting. No loss; it really didn't have anything to do with me and was exceedingly dull and besides 3 of my dogs are frightened of thunderstorms and 2 of them had landed on my lap. Cloudy and much cooler today, and might rain this morning. There's a woods walk in my schedule for the afternoon!)
6/10 186.5 (Partial annular eclipse a total bust because it was cloudy. I'm off to the dentist in a moment! See everybody in round 153!)7 -

Round 152
Month/Day: Exercise / Comment
6/1: 211.8
I think I escaped the long weekend with minimal damage. But, let’s just say it is a good thing it was not any longer.
6/2: 210.8
Busy week at work. I need to avoid the pantry because I just start munching under pressure.
6/3: 211.8
Had a happy hour get together in the back yard of a neighbor. My picture is next to the word glutton in the dictionary.
6/4: 210.4
Riding the seesaw. I feel better about myself today. 😊 Thanks for the hugs.
6/5: 210.4
6/6: 210.0
6/7: 210.4
Sorry I have been out of touch. My weekend was full of morning activities, which is when I usually post here. I haven’t had a lot of screen time with the PC (which is where I write these posts.) As you can see I am hovering.
6/8: 212.8
This increase is nothing more than the actual weight of what I put in my mouth and sent down the hatch yesterday. That, plus the weight of the water retained due to saltiness of what I put in my mouth. Biophysics. It is what it is, so I wrote it down.
Imagine if I only weighed once a week, and today is the day. That would be disheartening.
6/9: 211.0
I will have to lose over three pounds in the next 24 hours to meet my goal. Not impossible with me, but not likely.
Yesterday was a good food and exercise day. But, the best thing about yesterday was that I glued (repaired) a toy for my 4 year old DGS. When I gave it back to him he said “I knew you could do it!” That was the best payment he could have offered.
6/10: 210.8
I met my minor goal, but not my major goal. I guess you call that batting .500, which in major league baseball is considered super stardom.
See you all next round.

As always, thanks to Molly for guiding here and to GrandmaJackie for keeping this challenge going. I don't "say" much but I appreciate your experiences. Through life's ups and downs, we need this shared dedication to self improvement and support.
In have a few goals for this round:
- I will not eat anything I know I react badly to. No more taking the antidote as I'm poisoning myself. How crazy is that!
- Focus on my program goals so I work with Intention rather than go through the motions.
- Weight loss of 2 lbs.
- Five hard workouts with hard defined as a burn of 500 calories or more in an hour
- Three strength training sessions each: upper body, core, lower body

Weighed in right after a 16oz coffee, and diet soda, and water. Not accurate but I've forgotten to record the past few days because I kept postponing for the "right time".
Weight upon waking is convenient but I like to track what I weigh during a typical day. Admittedly, I love being 3lbs lighter first thing in the morning. Sucks that this lowest weight of the day never makes it into my medical files. Lol!

Calories on track and the bloating from past sins has been reversed. I'm back where I was late Winter in spite of myself.
Inconsistency is a big problem right now. New bad habits are hard for me to give up. Old good habits are hard to re establish. Finding stability... the search continues.

Round 152 Goal -233 lbs
Round 152 Day/Weight/Comment
6/1 236.8; morning blood sugar 134. not terrible after the holiday cookout. Indulging in my wife's strawberry cheesecake was not a great diet choice but a politically astute one.
6/2 236.0; morning blood sugar 130. I need to get out and walk before the weather turns this afternoon.
6/3 232.8; NOPE. Not believing it, do not get excited. I did nothing that would produce a "woosh" so I am calling this a random scale error until I see it for a few days. morning blood sugar 137.
6/4 235.2; as I suspected, the scale pixies were messing with me yesterday.... still I like the trend. MBS 134
6/5 NW - travel day
6/6 NW - travel day
6:7 235.2; MBS 151. So the road trip didn't hurt me weight-wise, but the BS tells me I made too many bad choices at night. Back to the grind.
6/8 235.4; MBS 130. Come on, Scale Gods. I am sorry I questioned your sanity, okay?
6/9 234.4; MBS 105. Much better. Much MUCH better.
6/10 233.8; MBS 140. Late night eating. Did not make target but seeing where I was 2 days ago I will gladly take it and move in. Hope to see everyone next round!8 -
Thanks @quiltingjaine
5/10: 183.1 - 2 pounds off my heaviest weight ever - (stopped posting on this challenge July 2020 - very glad to be back!)
Round 152
Goals: 80oz water; row 30 mins most days; dance to a different song each day to burn calories and also because music makes me so happy 🎵 🎵 🎵; eat vegetables/fruit; 1200 to 1500 calories; IF most days; no sugar
SW: 179.0
Whatever your goals, I wish everyone a successful round!
Previous days' posts6/1 - 178.7 - Good way to start! Going to row. Soon I'll be on the water in my kayak but today it's in my basement on my waterrower - if I close my eyes, it sounds like you're on the water.
6/2 - 178.0 - Down 5 pounds! I need to learn from my past where I slowly slide back into old habits and gain that 5 pounds back again:
No sugar - my cravings have subsided so much. I'm better able to control myself when those moments happen that make me want to binge. Also, I won't fool myself as I've done in the past that I have more "willpower" now and can handle it. I have more willpower because it's a physical thing with not eating sugar. I've fallen for that too many times and after one day, I'm off on a month-long binge.
Water - drinking water really does help you to stay full or maybe it's also that I'm not really hungry but thirsty. I was going around so dehydrated.
And lastly, Milk - I was drinking my calories. I love milk but also think it was my way of making up for not having sugar. I've stopped it for now too because I have really bad eczema and hoping it may be part of the cause.
Second lastly celebrate all the small changes instead of focusing on my long-term goal, whatever that really ends up being. Oh man, I could keep going but I'll stop!
6/3 - 178.0
6/4 - 177.5 Great to see but I weighed a little later this morning than normal so may be off. We'll see over the next few days.
6/5 - 6/4 - 177.7 Don't mind a small jump up at all - so glad to stay at 177.X. I noticed a NSV over the past few days. My ankles are no longer swollen. I contribute this to all the water I'm drinking, and maybe not having wheat while I try to determine why my eczema has gone whacky. Love it when you start seeing results on the scale and other ways - there is no better motivator!!
6/6 - 177.2 Surprised to see a drop this morning. I expected it to go up a little after eating popcorn last night. It was air popped and fit into my calorie limit for the day, but with the salt, I thought I would have a little water weight this morning. I always think of popcorn as unhealthy but was reminded when I looked it up in my Healing Foods book that it's actually healthy, if not loaded up with butter and salt. A really good way to get your fiber, too.
6/7 - 177.1 - I am about to hit my goal weight for this round. Very happy about that, but really happy because all the positive changes I'm seeing along with my weight going down!
6/8 - 177.0 - I hit my goal - yay! I'm still feeling mentally and physically strong 29 days in. What's happening to me? Who is this person? LOL I normally would have sabotaged this thing weeks ago. I know some of the differences this time but won't over analyze it this morning and just be thankful I'm NOT struggling with cravings.

176.4 Kept this weight for 2 days and ending down 2.6 pounds. Excited for Round 153!
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

6/1 195.7 No change from yesterday which is Ok. Had a very active Saturday, massage on Sunday, folding laundry on Monday.
6/2 194.9 TOM, no sleep because the college age boys were partying last night!
6/3 196.5 I am swollen like a balloon, not sweating it!

6/8 197.0
6/9 197.0 I was not sweating it early in the round but now I am. I am staying the course but nothing is moving like it’s true weight gain. I cannot understand the why. The only thing I ate that was some baked donut holes. I had a few on Saturday. I know those things can stay with you so maybe I am carrying them around still. I keep waiting for a whoosh because I have been really good (otherwise). I went to 2 cookouts last weekend but I didn’t go overboard.
6/10 195.9 Well there is something. I was up half the night with back pain. Need a new mattress topper. TOM ended days ago so this shouldn’t be the issue. I'll take the slight whoosh.

6/3 205.3 Walked 4 miles, 1614 cal, 71 net carbs, 2 glasses wine, made yummy bacon stuffed mushrooms to go with our steak dinner this evening instead of potatoes. Prepping for my trip, trying on clothes in my closet , hair, nails, reading!

6/5 DNW New Orleans Walked 2+ miles + WWII museum, 13433 steps, no journaling of food, 1 wine @ hotel listening to jazz + 2 wine @ Jacques-Imo’s with dinner & 1 Whiskey Diet Coke @ Maple Leaf Bar street concert.

6/8 DNW Dead Scale Battery Walked 3.4 + .6 miles, 1776 cal, 134 net carbs, AF. Started drinking 80+oz water. Both the washer and downstairs AC were busted so working with repairmen to get the house back to a normal routine … AC fixed … we’ll see about the washer tomorrow or if I have to get a new one!
6/9 DNW Dead Scale Battery Walked 2.3 + 1 miles, 1738 cal, 136 net carbs, 80+oz water, AF. Ordered a new washer since repairing it costs too much!
6/10 205.3 Walked .6 miles, 1445 cal, 160 net carbs, 80+oz water, AF. Treated myself to a pedi, donated blood, made dinner for a neighbor that just had a baby and met with my sister to plan a trip with her & mom. Good day but very little walking.
YEAH! Back down to my lowest for the year. Now to move on and make more progress during the next round.7 -

Day/Weight/Comment
6/1 – 252.2 – I ended Round 150 at 251.8 and missed the first few days of Round 151 so I did not participate. Gained a little back since then, but I am overall pleased because it isn’t that much and I know that if I get refocused, I can handle it. This past weekend over the holiday was an eye-opener though. I didn’t expect it to be so hard to stay on track, but with family in town and all the festivities I struggled to log my food and exercise entries into my diary on here, luckily, I did have a physical journal in my purse so I could write it down and enter as soon as I was able this morning. I struggled in general though with all the deserts, food, and alcohol that everyone else was consuming. I did give into drinking one Seagram’s beverage. I know they are empty calories and not good for a person, but step by step I will reach my goal.
6/2 – Did not get weight this morning. Planning on starting a light exercise regimen tonight as well, hopefully, I can kick start my weight loss again. ** Was able to weigh myself yesterday during my lunch break at it was 254.1 lbs. Don’t know how I feel about that. That is a nearly 2 lb. increase from the day before**
6/3 – 251.2 – Feeling like that is inaccurate based on yesterday’s weight, but if I compare it to Tuesday’s weight, I feel like I am on the right track. Went out for pizza with my mom and 8-year-old niece yesterday for lunch while the kids are visiting for the summer. Two slices alone totaled my daily recommended calories according to MFP when I searched and tracked meals in my food diary. That makes me feel like I can’t enjoy those types of outings because it feels like a setback. If anyone has any advice regarding handling the feelings of failure and balancing that with still enjoying the little things, I will gladly take it.
6/4 – 251.0 lbs.
6/5 – 250.2 lbs.
6/6 – 249.6 lbs.
6/7 - 250.7 lbs. – Took Friday off work to spend time with my stepson, niece, and nephew, so data was not entered. We enjoyed a two-night slumber party and even went swimming on Friday afternoon. Enjoyed seeing the numbers go down over the weekend, even though they are once again up today. Continuing to focus on meeting my daily water intake goal and increase my average step count a little more each day. Unfortunately, I did not begin my exercise regimen as planned last Wednesday. My back was tweaked and hurting pretty severely, been working on stretching and trying to relieve some of that pain and tension.
6/8 – 250.1 lbs. – Getting frustrated this week is hard. Boyfriend wants to take his lunch to work now to save money, but has bought himself all kinds of sweets and snacks to pack in addition to his sandwiches / leftovers. He keeps wanting to share them with me and gets almost offended when I decline. Still struggling with back pain so not fully invested in starting an exercise regimen yet either. Not sure what to do at this point. I am cutting calories and portion controlling and drinking only water but I feel like I’m trying to walk climb up an escalator that is pushing me back down.
6/9 – Overslept this morning again and didn’t get to check my weight. ☹ Not having a good week so far.
6/10 – 249.2 lbs. – This week has been a rollercoaster on so many levels. Scale shows a 3 lb. difference from ten days ago, so that is still positive progress. I increased my daily step goal to 4000 as well effective today after a month of consistently reaching my original goal of 3000 which started as a challenge with my office/desk job. Realized my starting weight reflected my starting weight for this round but now my overall starting weight, so that was corrected. When I completed my fitness profile on this site/app my starting weight on 01/09/2021 was 261.4 lbs. Based on the weight this morning that is down just over 12 lbs. I am proud of what I have accomplished, but I know that I can do more. Today’s resolution is to stop making excuses and put it the work. If that means I sacrifice 30 minutes of sleep or 30 minutes of time with my boyfriend it will be beneficial in the long run. I can and I will do this.

There’s the bump from Sunday’s binge. That’s fine. I spent another 4 hours on “heavy gardening” yesterday, digging things up and replacing, schlepping bags of dirt around, planting new plants. Off in a few for a walk by the river and then a stop for — surprise — more plants. I’m an addict. 🌸🌿🌼🌱🌻 Happy June, everyone!

It’s cool and overcast this morning but heating up later, so I’m off to plant my new hydrangea and yellow Baptisia and then go for a walk. Feeling activated!
6/3 - 188.8 - 1752
It rained all day yesterday and we ordered from Fazoli, so not much activity and heavy food. I still feel weighted down. Ugh. Going to try to eat light and burn some calories today.
6/4 - 188.2 - 1805
More calories but more activity. All good. Moving more plants around my garden this morning, then off for a walk on the greenway.
6/5 - 189 - 1566
Woops. Wrong way! Oh, well. I’m still fighting the evening snack monster. Gotta get better control. Ok, off to work in the garden before the heat. Have a great Saturday!

Enjoying a slow cup of coffee in my garden. Wishing you all a lovely Sunday!

My creative support group is coming for a dinner pitch-in meeting this evening. I think it will be healthy food all the way, except for dessert. 🎂 I’ll try to behave.
6/8 - 188.6 - 1597ish
We had a great time last night with a remarkably healthy pitch-in dinner — I made salmon burgers (just salmon &egg with fresh-from-the-garden herbs and yogurt-dill sauce), a beautiful salad, delish roasted veggies, and strawberries & ice cream for dessert. Yum! I got all my plants in the ground before the significant rain, and this morning I’m sitting on the patio enjoying the view, the birds, the bunnies & chipmunks. I thought I’d share a couple of pics of the backyard. Two years ago, this was nothing but grass, a perimeter of river rock, and a sickly maple tree.
6/9 - 188.8 - 1702
I had a nice, lazy rainy day yesterday. Have to catch up today! Off to the greenway, then various errands. Have a good one!
6/10 - 188.6 - 1843
I’ve been burning lots of calories but obviously not enough. I’m not concerned about this 1# gain because I know some is salt — I had a major craving for Cheezits for about a month and finally ate some yesterday. Got that out of my system! See you R153!6 -

Day/Weight/Comment
6/1: 175.9
6/2: 175.8
6/3: 175.7 Slow and steady but I feel like a whoosh is due! Hoping next week (or sooner) to be able to ease back into some light exercise. Plan to be AF at least until Sunday, which should help the scale as well.
6/4: 175.5 Still need to tighten down my food choices, dinner calories have been on the higher end of my allotted range. Thinking Chicken Cesar salad for dinner tonight, it's a favorite!
6/5: 175.4 A little later weigh in this morning and will weigh in later again tomorrow. Need to menu plan for next week and get my shopping done this weekend, so there are no surprises when it comes to dinner plans.
6/6: 175.1
6:7: 174.9
6/8: 174.8
6/9: 173.9
6/10: 173.9 Ending this round with a 2 lb loss which is great! I'm currently reading a book about weight loss and the correlation to digestion, and while I don't plan to follow it as a diet plan, definitely want to incorporate some of it into my way of eating. Next round, I will be focusing much more on my food choices and fingers crossed I will be able to return to working out.8 -

@musicsax You “mending” the wand reminded me of a time I cut a sandwich the “wrong” way. “Mother magic” fixed it - - uhh, I made another and cut it correctly!2

@tffanynbowen89 I was just re-reading your post from the 8th. Perhaps your BF can keep his treats at work to help you out.2
