Last night some coyotes came by, and they stuck around in the hayfield right on the other side of the hedgerow, howling in the moonlight. My girls (what most people would refer to as "my dogs") went insane barking (from the safety of the bed) and the coyotes left. Or at least shut up. One left their calling card in the laneway (apparently they've been eating some sort of flesh and chokecherries). Will probably be getting hay today; I'll phone in an hour or so if I haven't heard from them, and try to get two loads. Beautiful day. If I'm getting hay this afternoon, I'm going for my woods walk this morning. And I'm giving an online chemistry midterm this evening and am expecting lots of questions because there's nothing more insecure than an online chemistry student just wanting to make sure of everything. And I'm ok with that. Enjoy your day!

7/21: 59.3 kg - Currently on period so have been snacking often. This morning, I went on a 20 minute walk. Goal is to wake up earlier to have a longer walk in the mornings.
7/22: 59.6 kg - Not feeling so good about the weight gain. Keeping mindful of what I consume today and my exercise.
7/23: 59.5 kg - Going on a run in the morning and also an evening walk!
7/24: 58.7 kg - Happy! Played tennis with a friend and went for all you can eat sushi. Didn't eat anything the rest of the day as I was really full. Had green tea and lots of water instead.
7/25: 59.4 kg - Expected this gain from AYCE sushi lol. Hoping this week will be better!!
7/26 - Forgot to weigh in!
7/27: 59.6 kg - Had an evening snack (yogurt and granola, also craved some cheese lol). Happy with exercise today. I did a morning and evening walk (totaled 10,436 steps by end of day).
7/28: 58.4 kg - 😳 don't know how that happened, but yay! Progress! Getting close to the goal for this 10 day challenge. Feeling super motivated to keep active. 💪

Tried on every pant in my closet which was interesting. I’m pear shape size 18. I already threw out the size 20 & 22 pants. Put everything that was too small in another area to pull out when I’m 10 pounds lighter because though size 16 fits it doesn’t look great. I’m really apprehensive about this 1 hr Strong and Fit total body workout I signed up to take once per week. But I think it will be good for my bones & muscles as I age and hopefully it will help shape my legs, tummy and arms!

Survived my first Strong & Fit class one-hour total body workout increases muscle strength and endurance by using light weights and high repetition. Lots of lunges, squats, planks and such with tons of arm movement. Sore this morning.
7/28 205.2 Walk 4.6 + 1.4 miles, bike 30 min, 2044 cal, 120 net carbs, 2 glasses wine. Almost 500 cal in snacks during the day then changed dinner plans and went to a favorite Italian restaurant. Undid all my great efforts exercising in the morning.
7/29 205.0 Walk 2.3 miles, swim 400m, 2171 cal, 84 net carbs, 3 glasses wine. I’m really starting to feel all the muscles in my body adding the strength training Monday and then swimming Wednesday on top of my regular walking dog 100miles/month and bike 1x/wk.

7/21 - 262.4 After taking the last round off for a friend's wedding, it's time to get back into it. Have not worked out as I'm still adjusting to the time zone, but I HAVE to tonight. Last wedding got me off track for about 10 days, I can't let that happen again.
7/22 - 259.9 Honestly surprised by a drop. Maybe yesterday's weight was effected by the flights and not working out? Not sure. Ran 2 miles this morning and 1.5 last night. I really hope I can keep this below 260 and this isn't just a water weight loss!
7/23 - 259.3 Ran 2.26 miles this morning. I originally wanted 2 miles, but then I was close to 20 minutes running so I went a little longer, then I was close to 400 calories burned so I went a little longer. Actually feels good to run and kind of want to go again tonight. Also thought of how close I am to 250 and how big that number will be. It'll mark 50 lbs down, a new BMI category and just being 1/2 way to the 100s. Definitely giving me an extra push!

I'm not sitting at a desk all day so I get up and I have to do lawn work and all that and work out on top of that so a drop always happens for Monday. Woke up and wasn't going to work out but then figured why not get a quick run in to burn calories? Ran until I hit 300 calories burned.
7/27 - 257.3 A bit of an increase but at least I know the scales are accurate. Ran 2.25 miles with a <9 minute pace this morning, I'm going to try to do a 5k at some point just have to push myself! 3 more days in this round, hoping to see 256 point something on the scale shortly!
7/28 - 257.1 I was thinking this morning that it seems like I've been stuck at this weight forever but looking here it's only been 3 days. I guess this week has really dragged! Ran for 20 minutes, burned 412 calories. I have nothing to do tonight so may do pilates or something light. Hoping to get a little lower before the end of this round!

OK, I am back from my trip and back on the wagon. Had a wonderful week in Frisco, Colorado. Hiking, biking, and fly fishing. Only got to fish one day before I hit the deck hard during a pickle ball game. Tripped on my own two feet and managed a three-point landing on my head, knee, and shoulder. Shoulder was too sore to fish after that.

May 10, 2021 - 183.1 - just 2.9 pounds off 186, my heaviest weight ever - (stopped posting on this challenge July 2020 - very glad to be back!)

You know how different weights are stuck in your head from different times in your life - whether up or down. 162 is the next weight that's stuck in my head. I worked really hard to get all my weight off before going 'home' to Atlanta for my nephew's wedding about 8 years ago. As always, my expectations for the amount of weight I could lose in 2 months were way off (and as it got closer and time was running out, I ate more). I worked from home so I did not have a dress that fit so had to buy a new one. I remember saying after the wedding that I would go back home and work hard to get it all off. Instead, the pressure of trying to lose it so fast, and as I always do after traveling, I ate for days, which led to weeks, which led to months, which led to me hitting the 180's again. I've fluctuated between the 170's and 180's since then but have never hit 162 again. So here goes...I WiLL do it this time!!

7/21 - 245.8 (+.4) I’m actually up from yesterday, which is a surprise. I struggled eating enough because of my schedule. I’m really tired today and need to plan my meals so I get enough calories. Who would have guessed I’d have days when I didn’t eat enough? I worked out at Orange Theory Fitness so had additional calories I needed to eat to make up for the intense exercise.
7/22 - 245 (-.4) Yay! A little at a time. Today is my swim day. I love going to the pool.
7/23 - 244.8 (-.6) Darn! I was hoping for a bigger loss. Oh well, still on the way down. Swimming was wonderful yesterday. Today’s Orange Theory Fitness. I bought an Apple Watch and am curious to see how it syncs with MFP. The Olympics start today and I’m always so inspired by the athletes.
7/24 - 244 (-1.4) Now that feels good. Today is my weekly indulgence meal so the scale will be up in the next two days and then I hope to see it drop back down. I try to schedule the indulgence meal when I’m meeting a friend so it’s a double treat. I did close all my Apple rings yesterday on my brand new watch. I can see how this is motivational.
7/25 - 246 (+.6) I enjoyed every minute of my indulgence meal yesterday. Well worth waiting for. Today I’m hiking with my sister, which is always fun and beautiful. Probably my favorite exercise.
7/26 - 244.8 (-.6) Yesterday’s hike was 5 miles. It was beautiful and the weather was nice. That’s the longest hike this year. I’m definitely getting stronger and my endurance is improving. I can’t wait until next year’s hikes after I lose another 50+ pounds.
7/27 - 245.2 (-.2) Worked out at Orange Theory Fitness yesterday and had a busy day overall. I ate up to my total calorie level including exercise. I think I was kind of distracted while I was preparing and logging my foods for the first time. I need to make sure I’m logging accurately. Hoping for a better result tomorrow.
7/28 - 244.4 (-1.0) Bouncing a bit back and forth, but heading back down. Yesterday I swam at the pool. I try to get in around 50 minutes and am not taking as many breaks. It always feels good.
7/29 - 242.2 (-3.2) Wow! Yesterday was a low exercise day with just a half hour swim lesson. I did manage the exercise circles on my watch. I’ve been feeling a bit stuck but tried to refocus on the accuracy of my logging. I’m really relieved. Happy dance!!

Really trying to focus on my goals this round, gotten a little lapse on my water intake. Also thinking instead of limiting alcohol, I need to instead be AF for the rest of this round. Having a glass or two of wine in the evening after dinner, pushes back my eating window for the next day with IF 16/8 & I really like to eat my 1st meal at 11 instead of 1 or 2 in the afternoon.

Enjoyed sleeping in a bit over the weekend, so didn't weigh Saturday & or Sunday, happy to see a loss this morning on the scale! Changing up my food plan for the upcoming few weeks...have 2 trips planned for August and would like to see a little extra movement on the scale before then. I've been consistently losing around 1.5 lbs. per round, would like to improve that to closer to 3 lbs. per round, which is still a somewhat moderate goal.

A little too low on the calories last night...didn't like last night's dinner, so didn't eat it. Scrambled to make something else but came in about 200-300 calories under plan and then IF window was extended to 9 p.m. Luckily not feeling hungry at all this morning, as I am now fasting until 1 p.m. Been working this week on mobility exercises only, but the lower temps today are calling my name for going for a run.

Made it 30 minutes passed my fast time yesterday! It seems a bit harder the later it goes but I just focus on the fact that it still the same amount of time fasting no matter the hour on the clock. So much easier to fast the majority of hours while sleeping than awake - lol! Closed my eating window on time last night so back to the regular fasting end time of 11 a.m. today. Not sure I will make my 3 lbs goal loss this round, but should be close.

07/21 …..193.4 ….. Wow! I didn’t expect this loss today. However, I am reminded that sometimes the changes take a few days to show up on the scale. Yesterday I upped my calories closer to my goal (a little low lately). I got in less movement with no planned exercise or walking but I did do yard work and stack wood. I would love to get to 192 point anything this round so that I could be within reach of the 180’s by next round. However, my goal is any weight loss at all (progress) so I am well on my way to both I hope! Good luck everyone on this round. Our goals are varied and so are our methods. I am behind you all and look forward to sharing our journeys.
07/22 …..194.2 ….. Dammit! I got really hungry last night because dinner earlier just didn’t satisfy. I ended up eating extra “diet” snacks. I was in the red by 199 calories. 0.8 which is concerning because I am having a long travel day today which will mean restaurants and sitting. I dread tomorrow’s weigh-in! On the good side – my trend weight is still going down. Staying grateful!
07/23 …..196.4 ….. After travel weight and also following a day of too many snacks. I will keep today very low calorie. I’m planning on moving a lot and sucking down the water!
07/24 …..196.6 ….. I ended up with a bit of travel yesterday for supplies for the reno. My handyman accompanied me and I bought us dinner out. I fasted all day and kept the meal reasonable. No TMI day 2 is not doing me any favors! Today I will try again for the lower calorie and carb day. Raining cats & dogs here.
07/25 …..194.8 ….. A nice drop on the scale after a low 1004 calorie day and very low carb-friendly veggies. Not much exercise yesterday, no enough water and very little sleep last night, but the efforts with my eating plan payed off. Today is an exciting day. My childhood best friend called me out of the blue yesterday. She has traveled to Michigan from Tennessee for a Memorial Service for an Aunt. She is going to meet me halfway from downstate so we can have lunch together and a nice visit before she heads back. Of course that means another restaurant and lots of sitting during the travel but I am thrilled to be able to see her. I will make up for any hits on the scale or waistline. I always do. Glad I had a drop today on the scale. That helps.

It is so wonderful the connection that two people can have when they grew up together, on the same street, in the same school, in the same grade and classes. We see things the same way with all those shared experiences. Oh, if our children only knew what we know! Happy to see the scale did not move after the delicious lunch. However, we all know it can take a few days to show up so I am going to stay diligent today. Extra water too I hope.
07/27 …..193.4 ….. A very nice whoosh that I was not expecting. I stayed within calorie yesterday and got in some extra movement so I’m pleased it payed off, even after a couple of days of travel. I had what I think is a bat in my house last night. In my bedroom flying low under my ceiling fan over my bed. I have been up all night trying to find it. I opened the attached garage doors and I hope it flew out while I was locked in my bedroom with Pebbles. I can’t find it today but I don’t know where it would be during the day if it is still in here. Any advice is appreciated.

I checked out their website and I think I found a used car that I want. Very nice. I have bought from this very upscale dealership before. They always have the nicest inventory. My son will accompany me and I will take him to a very nice dinner. I will likely be eating more sodium that usual but I will watch my portion control. Little things go a long way. No bat last night. Time will tell…….

I will, otherwise, IF 16/8 today, push water, and watch my nighttime snacks. Signed on the newer used car at the dealership yesterday. I asked them to add remote start, change the grill in the front because I found a small crack in it although it’s never been in an accident (grocery cart?). They are also going to deliver it to me when all is done. That is great considering it is almost 100 miles away each way. Spoil me already! No bat detected last night before sleep…….

Well, this has been one doozy of a year and a half since I quit tracking and quit this program. I have gained 15 pounds back after a 40-pound loss. Like all of us, it's been a challenging year. I am on new meds that can cause weight gain, so I need to go back to super vigilance and 5 of the 15 have come with the meds. I was ok with gaining 10 considering everything but 15 is too close to 20. It's too hot for me to walk and I am leary of going to the gym right now because we are having a surge in cases. So it's important to keep the calories down. I'm trying to reduce sugar and dairy, to help with pain management. Dairy isn't as hard, I'm ok with less cheese but sugar is killing me and I'm not doing very well with it. I came back because this process makes me accountable and I need that.
