Goal weight 138.0#
Day/Weight/Comment
8/20: 139.4# Back from the cabin with a little gain. Back to the plan. My darn computer died so I’m fumbling with the phone app but it works.
8/21: 139.6# ugh vacation catching up with me.
8/22: 139.6#
8/23: 138.6# Hmm not sure about this drop. I weigh myself the same time, routine, but don’t always post right away. Stuck indoors yesterday which meant boredom and circling the kitchen a lot. Back to work today and hopefully better control
8/24: 137.6# Fluctuations in weight happen. Let’s see if this is a trend. Keep working my plan.

R160: Time to make some progress and strive for <200 in August! Quit this yo-yo cycle.
🎯Mini Goal: <202 (Repeat until I hit it!)
Exercise Goal for this round: Bike, swim, and strength class once per week. Walk the dog 100 miles in August!
Day/Weight/Previous Day’s Comment
8/20 203.0 Walked 4 miles, Bike 30 min, 1590 cal, 76 net carbs, 3 glasses wine. Cooking class with friends where we made Fruit Empanadas, Paella Mixta, Tortilla Española. Exercised and fasted through breakfast but obviously not enough. Expected bump up after 4 evenings in a row eating at restaurants with friends. Gearing up for damage control and not let this be an excuse to continue to backslide.
8/21 204.6 Walked 4 miles, Swam 500m + treaded water 12 min, 2003 cal, 110 net carbs, 3 glasses wine, >100 oz water. Great exercise day but snacked on way to many nuts, fries at lunch & rice at dinner. But wow the continued rise in the scale is worrying me!
8/22 203.6 Walked 4.5 + .5 miles, 1568 cal, 71 net carbs, AF. Planning fall road trip and kitchen remodel.
8/23 203.5 Walked 3.2 + 1 miles, 1521 cal, 110 net carbs, 2 glasses wine. Lazy day.
8/24 203.7 Walked 3 miles, Strength Class 1 hr, 1656 cal, 156 net carbs, 2 glasses wine. Cousin came in from Florida and we went to my sister’s for crawfish étouffée and wine … but I insisted on going to my exercise class before meeting up with them.
No swimming laps for a couple of weeks since they closed the olympic size lap pool for maintenance.
Thinking about signing up for twice per week strength classes in September to prep for hiking plans in Oct. The lunge part of the routine has made me much better at going up and down steps at home.

8/20 - 248.9 Today marks the 4 month anniversary of me starting this journey. I had hoped to be lower after seeing 246 on the scale earlier this week but my body had other plans. Still being down 50 lbs in 4 months is nothing to be upset about.
8/21 - 248.7
8/22 - 245.8
8/23 - 244.9 The usual weekend fall strikes again! Sometimes I wish I had a manual labor job so that I could get calorie burns from work rather than just sitting at a desk all day. I spread 1/2 ton of top soil and then mowed the lawn after. Last year I couldn't mow my entire lawn at one time, now I'm doing it after doing other work. I'm also starting to really feel more comfortable with my body. Still a long way to go but I'm not embarrassed to go places anymore and I'm excited to have nicer clothes!
8/24 - 246.0 Just how Mondays are always low, Tuesdays and the rest of the week are always high. Sitting around at work all day really takes its toll I guess. This was pretty disappointing to be honest. I just want to be out of the 240s and I keep bouncing around here.

8/21 - Didn't follow thru with my planned meals, went overboard after dinner. Dam that peach pie & ice cream!!
8/22 - 196.0 - Making a plan is one thing... sticking with it is a completely different thing
8/23 - 194.8 - Good food choices yesterday but drank too many calories. Lots of exercise paid off though

Month/Day: Exercise / Comment
8/20: 205.8
Glad to hold on to this for two days in a row. More social events this weekend, so…
My ten-day rolling average is near 208 right now, which is good for me. Trying to get down off the plateau.

Trying to be a good boy before my get-away this weekend.
8/24: 206.2
I was able to stay under my calorie goal yesterday even though I had Jimmy John’s for lunch and Applebee’s for supper. (both were for meetings) I was able to make some wise decisions from the menus. Had to pass on some really good-looking things. I like that the menus have calorie information. They reveal some surprising choices that would actually fill up an entire day’s budget in one meal.

May 10, 2021 - 183.1 - just 2.9 pounds off 186, my heaviest weight ever - (stopped posting on this challenge July 2020 - very glad to be back!)

SW: 167.1
8/20: 167.3 - The expected bouncing around after a loss.
8/21: 167.3 - Still sticking to 167.x and have not bounced back to 168.x! That is a win! If I stay the course, 166.x is any day now! IF 17 hrs. Row 20 mins only. Water - all I can say is I'm going to do better today.
8/22: 167.0 - Fall is my favorite time of year, which is one of the reasons I love Maine so much. This year I will appreciate fall even more than ever after all this heat and humidity we're having. Growing up in Georgia, I never even thought about the heat or humidity until I met my husband who was from upstate NY and he talked about it. Then when we moved to Maine and I was like, oh, now I see why he noticed it. You see a lot more clear, blue skies in the Northeast in the summer. I also have a lot less sinus headaches up here. I'm going to start walking more when that anticipated cool front comes thru in I think about 6 days if the forecast is correct. And most tourist will be gone during the week after Labor Day and I'm going to start walking on the beach more.

8/20 DNW - On vacation - still tracking and trying to stay under maintenance calorie levels. Lots of walking and good fun.
8/21 DNW - We’ve been hiking, but not exercising at my usual intensity. I’m really going to be interested to see how I’ve managed without a scale to keep me on track. I won’t be weighing in until Tuesday.
8/22 DNW - Still on vacation. I had my indulgence meal yesterday. Today we are kayaking. I’m really looking forward to it!
8/23 DNW - Final day of vacation. I’ll be weighing in tomorrow. Overall, my eating has been pretty good…under maintenance levels for most days. Keeping my fingers crossed. We have been walking and hiking. Kayaking was cancelled due to high water levels.
8/24 235.6 (-1.4) I’m thrilled to be down almost a pound and a half after visiting my son and being off my usual routine. Hiking every day, limited eating out and logging most meals was really helpful. My son was really encouraging me to stay on track and was happy making meal decisions based on what I needed. It's great to have such wonderful support.

8/20-169-Out to dinner with MIL tonight, it would have been their 55th anniversary but he died on Christmas Day. On a happy note, we got4 loads of road base delivered yesterday for our parking area around our house pad. I am excited because DH will have a road around the pad and I’ll have a walking path!
8/21-DNW-Lovely dinner out with MIL and aunt. Off to a quilting class, then probably yard work. Happy Saturday!🌸☕️
8/22-168
8/23-DNW- We have so much yellow squash, I decided to make a casserole with it. Also made a small loaf of herb bread and ate some of it. Off to ride the horse, then home to quilt.
8/24-DNW-Making cream brûlée French toast for MIL this morning. I made French bread last night with a little nutmeg in it and it smelled so good, I had some of it. Work at the quilt shop today.

8/23 199.3 Well I had Chinese food on Friday night and apparently it stayed with me a bit. I realize that I haven’t logged food last week at all. So that is my weekly goal to log all food all week. Including the Oreo cookie (apple cider donut) that someone just brought over to my desk. Food does not equal comfort, food does not equal comfort…my new chant…
8/24 200.9 My clothes are starting to seem really tight. Even when I am working out lately, my heart isn’t in it anymore. When I go to Zumba class on Saturday, I have to really concentrate to stay in the moment. I know that right now I am going through some form of PTSD and trying very hard not to fall into depression but I am struggling. Can stress make everything you eat just stay with you? I thought I did pretty well yesterday but when I put in all my numbers, very high sodium, high fat, high sugar 2234 calories. Well there’s my answer. It felt like a regular day though. I felt like I was being good but upon review, I really wasn’t.

Ugh. I think it's water weight increase from more sodium in my diet. I hope it is anyway. It really was disheartening this morning to see I went up again. I didn't want to do my diet and exercise, just wallow in pity, munching on stuff. However, out of discipline, I did my walk, and went further than I had anticipated I could. By the end of the walk I felt better and ready to stick to my lifestyle changes.

Stress can cause you to retain water and gain more fat as well. It raises your cortisol levels which impacts how insulin and your body works. If it goes on too long you can end up with organ damage and your nails and hair will stop growing, as they are not necessary for fight or flight. I have CPTSD and have dealt with depression. My suggestion is to find something you can just sit and be still for, but enjoy. I do a lot of coloring, it helps me. For nightmares, there are a couple of prescription options that can help with that. I hope things look up for you soon. If you need to, you can contact me.7 -

Joining late after a long time a-weigh. I have gained back a lot of my former progress. Bought a brand new pair of shorts I might have been able to wear to the races Saturday had I continued my original conviction and health plan past June. They are now my goal shorts. Took an "ugly truth" picture wearing them buttoned up as far as they would go. It's not pretty folks. But reality rarely is.

@Lilylady3k Fries, rice, and wine = a LOT of carbs. Wine and rice would both impact me, I had fries yesterday as well as 2 biscuits (Cracker Barrel) and still went down. 😵💫😵💫😵💫 I’m really sort of surprised by that. 😱😱😱 Will see what happens tomorrow!4

08/19 …..187.8….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
08/20 …..186.6 ….. (trend weight 189.6) My new low since before Covid. I’m dreaming of the 170’s. It may be awhile but it is within reach before Christmas if I stay committed and on track! Wishing everyone the very best of luck and circumstances this round. Let’s do this!
08/21 …..186.8 ….. (trend weight 189.3) My renovation handmen were here until late (9:30 pm). One helped prime my well pump and it’s still working this morning! Hopeful! I didn’t get in the walks I wanted and my dinner was very late and eaten in bed. Frozen pizza filled with sodium so I am happy the scale isn’t going crazy on me this morning. I finally settled in at about 11:30 pm to an Episode of Columbo which is one of my greatest pleasures. I had a heckofaday (with water problems and drywall dust) and deserved all two hours of it! Today I have pulled pork going in the crock pot to share with the workers.
08/22 …..185.4 ….. (trend weight 188.9) That’s better! Ended up having dessert last night which was unnecessary really. A double whammy – A little too much and totally of the wrong thing but the scale was still kind to me this morning. It was probably catching up to some good days a few days ago. Today is my DGD’s 1st birthday. She is about 65 miles away so there’s a tad bit of travel and there will be food and cake. I expect an uptick tomorrow but a wonderful day today! I will consider today my higher calorie day to keep my metabolism from dropping. Making it part of my plan instead of against it will help keep me in check in the coming days.
08/23 …..187.4 ….. (trend weight 188.8)The birthday party was fantastic for my DGD turning age 1. So beautiful with lots of things for toddlers to do (trampoline, kiddie pool, castle playing, bouncy house etc). Food was catered and delicious. I didn’t eat much real food yesterday, mostly junk. The cake was so sweet that, even after taking off most of the frosting, my teeth almost fell out. I felt like I died and went to heaven, truthfully. It was the land of milk and honey. Abundance. So…..two pounds later, I am planning an extra good day today. I’ll never forget her birthday celebration, but I will forget these 2 pounds. They will be gone before the end of this round!
08/24 …..187.4 ….. (trend weight 188.6) Still trending down and still below starting weight which is goal met. Yesterday I remained under calorie and with pretty decent macros. However, I didn’t drink enough water and I must have crawled like a snail or a turtle (at best) all day because I got in basically zero extra activity. So I am not surprised by no change on the scale. I will try to some lower carb healthier choices today and see what happens. On a positive note, today was morning 4 with water (and without priming well). Perhaps they’ve finally got the right settings!
