@MLHC1 - Heh. I keep the tab open through the day and come back to it to see sort of where I'm at and what I'm trying to do! ;D And then I just quote it, edit it, and post it for the next day. It's been a SUPER helpful resource, as I can NOT keep track of everything on my own!

I promise, I actually DO make it a goal to not have a bajillion tabs open, but...

Oh my gosh, @clicketykeys This screenshot of your open tabs cracked me up! 🤣😂

Seriously though, I’m always so impressed with your list!

Hour commitment - in hotel room, just finished coffee stuff. Now I won’t eat again until lunch. I can still have my daily metamusal before we leave for our hike. Lunch our first day is usually sharing a sub-style sandwich, maybe some chips, and some chocolate. Usually somewhat early since the sub place is on our way to our hike and we don’t want to bother with carrying it. Then we hike all day! Have a great day every one!

@Janele0627: That wounds wonderful to set up your tent and go camping on your own land! How wonderful. ... enjoy every minute!

@Beachwalker: That is scary being in the hospital with HR and BP .. nothing to fool around with. Hopefully the meds will help and you will feel better soon. You are also aways missed when you arn't on here .. we are all rooting for each other! Take good care of yourself, and have a slow, relaxing weekend.

@PackerfaninGB.. so nice to hear from you! Yes, I love Corrine from the NOBS podcasts! I had lost close to 40# on weight watchers, and still belong to WW, since I don't have to pay. But I do have to do a in-person weight in for the month of september to stay lifttime, which I am not 6 pounds over my goal weight. I had gained back 15 ... but have lost about 8 of those. I walk every morning, usually between 60-90 minutes, and I love listening to her podcasts while I walk. She makes so much sense! Eating when you are full... easy to say, but so hard to do, especially since I'm not really hungry when I do my worse eating. My biggest problem is still in the evenings .... but.. I am getting a little better. Hard to undo years of old habits .. eating when bored, sad, stressed, happy, etc etc.!
Also .. congrats on losing 10 pounds! That is wonderful ... so proud of you!!!! I have not officially joined NOBS women, but since there are so many free podcasts, I just listen to those!

@more_freggies76 -- you are doing awesome!! I think I need to get on here again in the evenings and post goals twice a day since my evenings are always the hardest!

    JFT, Friday, Sept 3
    1. log all food :)
    2. concentrate on water :)
    3. limit my snack in the evening ... drink 2 glasses of water first :) Ha .. I was SO tired from the past 3 days ... 2 full days of powerwashing, then today mowing the grass. We were going to go to the fish fry, but instead ordered pizza. The rest of my evening I spent being lazy and watching TV .. Hubby told me I was kinda "grumpy" but I was SO tired!
    4. work in the yard .. going to expand one of my flower beds (again LOL). :) Did not work in the flower beds, but instead mowed the entire yard .. which takes me about 90 minutes. Then planted some day lilies I had dug up.

Today is a rainy day, so we are going to run to Home Depot for me to pick up some fine crushed rock .. I am going to relift a lot of brick and relay them around my flower beds .. and make the beds bigger! I am crazy I know. We had them laid 18 years ago.. so the bricks have sunk into the ground. I want to make the bed bigger anyhow, and plan to put deer fencing around it so they leave my hydrangeas alone, so decided to do it right. But since today is rainy, other than doing those errands .. going to get the house cleaned today!

    JFT, Sat, Sept 4
    1. log ALL food
    2. concentrate on water
    3. dinner tonite: beef and chicken kabobs
    4. practice keyboard at least 15 minutes
    5. clean house
    6. start on latch hook rug
    7. work on quilt .. its a fall wall hanging, so need to get it finished!

I wanted to share with you guys a podcast I listened to yesterday while walking ... it makes so much sense, and I know is so true. It is all about writing down our goals (which is what we do on this thread).

She talks about how important it is to write our goals ... our food goals, our fitness goals, our gratitudes, etc.

I hope this helps you guys as much as it has helped me. It is still hard to do at times, and many times I plan and write my goals, or at least plan in my head what I am having for dinner ... I think I need to also plan my evening snacks though!

@beachwalker99...I hope you feel better soon.

@MLHC1...sending you good wishes for your surgery next week x

    JFT Friday 3rd

    Keep below maintenance yes
    Back exercises yes
    Foot exercises yes
    Arms something no
    Walk in town yes
    Load car yes

An easy day as I ache all over!

Eye appointment on Friday was okay, was there for an hour and 20 minutes! Will be going back in 2 weeks and after that only if my symptoms get worse. I had a wander round a few shops, such a long time since I've done that.

Today I didn't set goals as I was out so early, but it's been a good day. It's now 7.20pm and I'm quite tired, it just seemed harder work than usual today. I've eaten sensibly and will be under maintenance. I won't snack tonight.

    Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Create vocabulary lists for each unit that come from the texts used: Animal Farm, Julius Caesar, Wes Moore, I Am Malala. Find a way to incorporate changing words from one part of speech to another. Students need to know how to review multiple sources and synthesize information in order to draw a conclusion. Need practice with the difference between transitions and overlapping (at end of paragraph - "another issue is Y" vs "there are other issues besides X"). Quit using "in conclusion" and "I believe" and other writing-about-my-writing phrases. Confusion between direct/indirect objects and prepositional phrases. Use the UDHR and the Declaration of Independence to study paraphrasing; use that to front-load Machiavelli and how to deal with challenging texts. Confusion between everyday / every day and similar constructions.
    3. E1: Need practice with quoting & paraphrasing sources, identifying claims that would need support, use of last names for reference, and capitalization practice (common/proper nouns, titles). Difficulty using possessive nouns in their own writing. Honors: practice subject/object pronouns (my friend and I / my friend and me). Poetry: Revise "Songs are Poetry" handouts.
    4. Curriculum Development: Writing mini-unit. Review scholarly research on 5PE. Use "Write About a Pebble" lesson from Atwell. How long should each unit take? Do research on characteristics: curiosity, persistence, resilience, creativity, responsibility, optimism, courage, integrity, authenticity, leadership, self-awareness, humility, compassion - others? Include grammarly check on essays! Review assessments. What is the purpose for each unit? What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Homework: Online journal Mon due Tue; Reflection Tue due Wed; C&P journal in class Wed; Comments Thu due Fri. Bonus if you are the first response; further bonus if you respond to comments on your post. Grammar practice Mon & Wed; quiz Fri. Unit plan for research (Idea for regular: comparing same story on sites with different biases).
    5. Professional Development: Write blog post weekly. Comment on 3 posts each week - Tu Th Sun? Check with PSC. Talk with Z about articles and/or conference proposals.
    6. Medical: Dentist call to schedule cleaning – Late Oct? ObG schedule for 9/22. PCP Aug 17. Therapy July 27.

    12. Writing: Blog post: Running, Racism and Rum: Learning to Handle Discomfort. Fanfic: Create a scene list for the Batgirl story. Finish the cafe scene for the Titans story.
    13. Lifting: 15 squats, 15 deadlifts, 10 shoulder presses, 15 arm raises, 10 pushups, 30 crunches, 15 side lifts, 15 back kicks. Horse stance for 5 breaths, tree for 10 breaths each leg.
    14. Summer: Organize photos with the family. Write Clois. Write Stuffy and Friends. Create blog posts for video lessons.
    15. Other: Practice hair braiding with D. Remind D to ask his dad about the table and check with home repair contractors. 3 posts/week? Create test for MLA format. Create test for infographics and visual information. Remember that M does not like surprises! Check dates of classes and update semester plan. She Should Run vision statement. Update standards on board. When to change bulletin board?

WFTY: Persistence. So, I really want to TRY to focus on writing tomorrow. I was going to today and it just didn't happen.
Reminder: Last year's WFTY was progress, and I am ... actually, I was going to say content, but it's more than that. I'm proud of myself, and I'm pleased with the progress that I made. Even without the challenges throughout the year, I accomplished things that I should be proud of; and given those challenges, I'm even happier about what I was able to do.

@Mytime6630 Thank you! I use hour commitments because they help me follow through on what my body knows is good eating practice, but what my inner child sometimes wants to forget about. Also, if I do overeat, and I do sometimes, a quick hour commitment puts the self recrimination to bed quickly.

Happy Sunday everyone! A new week, a new chance to be our best selves! You guys are all doing great. I know I don't always get to respond to people who give me encouragement, as I'm so busy all the time, but I really appreciate all your words of kindness! You keep me going!
Yesterday, we didn't end up camping on our land. Bummer. But we had a nice cook out dinner with the in-laws. I feel like I did really, really well with my portions and choices of foods. Even with dessert! I didn't log anything, so I guess I'm counting yesterday as my cheat day instead of today lol

    JFT 09/05 (Sun)
    - Vitamins & B.C.
    - 64 oz of water
    - 10,000 steps/5 flights of stairs
    - 30 minutes of yoga
    - Vacuum the stairs
    - Log everything/400 calorie deficit (I adjusted my calories by day thanks to Premium to allow for a "cheat day", but as I said, I had my cheat day yesterday!)

Enjoying my vacation. We walked 10 miles yesterday. Had a nice Italian meal for dinner. I was full, so even though I wanted a dessert, I didn’t need one. Hour commitment helped me make the right choice.

Going to be less strict today with food. Going out to where they have lots of street food and I’m going to have some! :) I’ll make hour commitments as needed. Another long walk planned today!

    Have a great Sunday!

WFTY: Persistence. Not a lick of writing. But I got laundry put away and recycling sorted and taken and I ran four miles and ... I still have barely started my next library book. I just can't FOCUS.

@PackerFanInGB - It's the weekend, so one of my not-exactly-task tasks is cleaning up my tabs:

    I think I'm doing pretty good! :D
