9/20 202.3 I feel like I am fighting off stress with a club and I am losing the fight. I know I have to get my head together in order to lose weight and my head is not together right now. Maybe I should be working on maintenance instead of attempting to lose because right now I am so discouraged. Trauma is not something you just get over and I am trying to just get over it. I am still trying to watch my calories intake, I am still doing my workout routine. However cortisol (stress hormone) is a beast.

@chublet25 When I hit my primary goal of 137, I decided to continue toward my secondary goal of 125. I continued eating the way I did and decided to let my body decide where it wanted to be. It seems to like 115-118 and, looking back, I have been there since May, 2020. I think this recent bump up is due to the toast we had at Saturday brunch - really good sourdough. I noticed my knee was hurting again yesterday and now wonder if that is why my toe hurts. Amazing the little signs we get and ignore!5

9/19 118.0 Well yesterday turned out to be extremely stressful. 24 yo DGD’s 21 yo friend got drunk early on and after taking DGD’s phone and purposely dropping it and breaking it, decided to leave her and go with some random much older guy who offered to buy her a drink. So we drove to The Strip, picked up DGD and took her to the hotel to pick up her stuff and she spent the night with us. DGD changed her flight so she wouldn’t be forced to take a 3 hour drive with “friend.” I had one really watered down adult beverage late in the evening. Now her flight is delayed almost 2 hours. My stomach is in knots.
9/20 117.5 DGD finally got home, after late boarding they spent almost an hour on the taxiway waiting to take off.
9/21 118.0 I had about an ounce of peanuts and a lot of salt from the bottom of the jar. 🤷♀️ I seem to have done something to my left foot, middle toe and it really hurts to bend it. Awake since 3:30AM UGH!!
9/22 118.5 AF I was so tired I went to bed a little after 9 and slept until about 6:30. GARMIN shows 9h 31m I didn’t log any of the food I ate yesterday but we did go to Golden Corral where I made less than stellar choices due to extreme tired. Today DH takes neighbor to lunch and I plan to fast. We’ll see how that goes. My “fasting muscle” seems to have taken leave. I should not have eaten bread Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I believe I’m “paying the price.”11 -

9/21: 163.1 - A few days late getting started this round. My lowest since beginning in earnest on May 10, 2021. I'm trying to be in the moment and celebrate each pound I lose and the healthy changes I'm making. After all, I'm planning on making this a one-time deal and not going to lose these pounds ever again so might as well have a little going away celebration on the scale each morning. My husband knows it's a good weigh-in when he hears me rejoice and come out of the bathroom dancing. LOL

9/22 - 206.6 - thanks for the advice for working from home, friends! My meetings are tied to a computer so walking one's won't work. I use the bathroom in the basement and will set the alarm for every hour to take a 5 minute walk.
@susiemcmac - I worked from home for 18 years when moving from headquarters in Atlanta to Maine. I worked more hours when I worked from home because you always just have one more thing to do and you don't have to make the commute home. For this reason, I did all my exercise in the morning - that's the only way I could get it done. I would hike with our dog before I signed in each morning. Once our headquarters moved to the UK it was a little harder because they were all at work hours before I was, so no way I would sign in until after my hike.
Another thing that helped was my husband made me a lift for my desk and I got used to standing while working. It took a while to get used to though but even now (early retired) I stand most of the time when I'm on my laptop.
Setting the alarm as you said is a good idea since if you're like me, I would get so focused on work and before I knew it hours had passed and I hadn't moved.
I did gain most of my weight the last years of working from home. It was just too easy to snack and not having to get dressed in work clothes each day, and living in sweatpants most days, you don't realize quite how much weight you are putting on. That's one thing I would change - I would get dressed in jeans or something each day and not sweatpants. I think my husband might have appreciated that too - LOL. I did love working from home though and wasn't as exhausted as I was when commuting each day, and didn't have to drive in the snow! Good Luck!! Debra9 -
quiltingjaine wrote: »@chublet25 I hope you have a before picture. I know that’s something that is always encouraged but we shy away from. I always used to stand behind everyone because of my weight but when I did a quilt shop hop 4 years ago, I was in the front of the group because they were all taller. If I didn’t have that picture, I would have no idea how my appearance had changed. My next door neighbor has (intentionally) lost 29 pounds since she moved here June 1 and didn’t “see” it until she took a picture yesterday. YOU are an inspiration!
Thank you so much, but NO, I took no before pictures. I haven't even taken any "during" pictures (well, except the one that my friend Rachael took of me meeting my new horse.) I was so ashamed of how I looked. I am still not all that pleased with my appearance though I admit I look one heck of a lot better, and I notice people at work that I do not see very often do a double take when they first see me (nobody's said anything, which I understand because for all they know I've been ill!) but I will take a picture when I'm reached my 126 pound goal, or get somebody else to do it. I will try to get somebody to take a picture of me riding my new horse. I will be sure to be grinning, even though the saddle will make my thighs look fat, haha, and my hair will be sticking out from underneath my helmet!
I'm not sure that I've ever been an inspiration before, thanks! It's just because I have very little to tempt me to break faith with my plan. It seems like everybody else is always dining out, going to parties, celebrating stuff with friends and family, going on vacation, all things that I don't seem to do any more. If I go out with friends, it's to lunch at Subway (veggie delite, hold the cheese for me). I always have to get home and look after my animals after work!

I used to get stomach aches, and my big toes would hurt, my breasts would be sore (sorry for TMI) and then one day I decided to take being a vegetarian one step further and became vegan. Symptoms disappeared immediately. I agree - we need to listen to our bodies more! I suspect that when I reach 126 I am not going to be totally pleased with my appearance and will want to lose a few more pounds. Good for you for maintaining that weight since May 2020! That is totally fantastic. And you're so active in here too. I don't plan to leave MFP. I know I'll have to work at maintaining and not fall back into bad (junk food) habits. You too are an inspiration!

@starrjulia8 and @tiabirdie56
I made 1/2 of a batch the Bieler broth and it was easy! I also added garlic, whole oregano and fresh thyme. After it cooked, I removed the woody thyme branch and blended it all. Then I added sea salt. I like this stuff and I hope you do too!

@AR10at50, Thanks again Karen! I know I'll add some herbs and spices to my liking. I'll experiment a bowl at a time. I've been looking for a savory green smoothie to enjoy during the winter and I love soup.5
