Welcome to a great team!!
The Ultimate Accountability Challenge (UAC) provides both weight losers and maintainers with incredible accountability partners AND life-changing healthy habits.
This is not the flash-in-the-pan 'biggest anything" short-term challenge. This is the real deal!! We are a volunteer group with a proven track record of significant team member success.
You are the boss of which exercises you do; how high your calorie limit will be; and whether to ‘eat-back’ exercise calories burned.
The accountability is regularly posting your daily results for:
1) At least 20 minutes of daily exercise;
2) Tracking the caloric intake of both food and beverage;
3) Consuming no more than your chosen limit of daily calories
A non-fulfillment of any of the above equals a Pass Day. There are 3 Pass Days allowed per month
Those who end the month with less than 4 Pass days are celebrated in the monthly Winner's Circle Qualification.
Those who continue to post throughout the month are honored as UAC Champions. Consistent thoughtful caloric intake; exercise; tracking and posting make Champions

For me, the UAC has made all the difference in the world for my weight loss success!
I've lost weight many times before (only to eventually gain all or most of it back!), but the education around "maintaining" and the personal mindset shift that I've experienced by hanging out in this group for the last year is what will make this time the one that will be successful for me long term. There's so much knowledge, wisdom and insight from members of this group - you definitely need to give us a try and use the leverage of accountability in your favor.
I first joined the UAC a year ago. I determined then that I would not give up - I would not quit - no matter what! I also appreciate that I've never felt like anyone in this group was judging me, (trust me, I beat myself up enough!!) Lol. I just keep telling myself that I CAN DO THIS, I WILL DO THIS, and that I'M WORTH IT!!!
I hope that you'll consider joining us in October - make a commitment to yourself that you'll stick and stay - no matter what! I promise, you won't regret it!!

I joined this challenge in May to check it out and see if it would compliment other challenges I was participating in. I really believe that anyone who uses MFP as part of their health journey (whatever that may be) will find this challenge to be an invaluable resource. I find it to be the glue that holds all of the things I track together, and provides incredible insights along the way. Do yourself a favor and give it a try for a full month and see what you can get out of it.6

This is my second shot at joining UAC. I joined for a few months before I became pregnant and it was such an impactful thing to do. It helped me squeeze the last bit of weight off and maintain.
The very first thing I did when I was able to start dieting post having the baby was to look up the UAC and join it.
I didn't think it would make much difference but it really really helps.6 -
Almost 3 years ago I found the UAC. It was a lucky break for me as it gave me great accountability. The members are friendly and supportive. The daily topics really provide lots of information for both those who are just starting out on their journey, and those who are further down the line.
The three requirements seem simple, but they are the bedrock for creating habits that will support you on your quest for greater health and fitness.

UAC has been the driving force behind my weight loss and healthy lifestyle. It has helped me learn to eat in moderation which is something I thought I would never be able to do. It has also given me an understanding of my self sabotaging behaviors and allowed me to change my habits and reach my goal weight!
The support, encouragement and accountability I hve received from UAC is what has kept me from not giving up. Was it hard?? Hell yes!!! Did I get there in the end? Hell yes!! I have been a UAC member for 10 month's and I will be a part of this group for the rest of my life!
These are like minded people who cheer us on and we all work towards our individual goals together! Give it a try, trust me when I say you will not regret it! Look forward to meeting you!6 -
The end part of my day, posting what I accomplished has made me accountable to myself and others. There is so much enthusiasm and support in this group it’s one I don’t ever plan on missing. Teamwork is also important as we came close to losing our UAC this summer but a BIG THANK YOU to all who have stepped up to keep this challenge alive and well. Come and join us for one month I am very confident you will stay. It will cost you minimal time and you be surprised at what we learn from one another.5

The UAC is a community of supportive, non-judgmental and kind people. It's truly a pleasure to participate in the group while working toward my weight loss goal. There is no pressure, so feel free to check it out for a bit and see if it's for you. It might just be what you need to keep going4

Whenever a newbie asks for help I encourage them to join the UAC. I truly believe that forming good habits can help overcome inertia when will-power and motivation fail. UAC has helped me develop the best habits of staying within my caloric allowance by tracking daily, and exercising daily.
Those that participate in this challenge are so supportive and patient. A huge thanks to all who make this challenge group work!

I am so glad that I found the Ultimate Accountability Challenge. August was my first month in the group and I am already signed up for my third round in October — I want to continue the success this group is helping me to have.
Three accountabilities every day: track
everything you eat or drink; keep within whatever YOU have set as your caloric limit for the day; and move intentionally for twenty minutes or more.
This challenge lays the path for lifelong success that I know I need. The group is very supportive and includes people who are new their loss journey and others who have more experience, including people who are have reached their loss goal and are in maintenance.

If you're cruising the boards looking for something that will help you stay on track, you've found the right place. Weight loss for me has such a huge community component... being accountable to a group of people is a huge driving force behind my successful 80 pound weight loss to date.
Checking in every day will help keep you focused and you'll love the supportive atmosphere. It is highly active and you can engage at the level that suits you. There is no requirement to be perfect... one of the best parts is seeing how many people continue to show up and get back on the horse even through the various challenges we're all bound to face.
Entry is simple and the foundational requirements of the group will adapt to your situation.4 -

October will be my second full month of UAC. The premise is easy to remember (exercise, track, stay within limits) yet very challenging. I have really enjoyed the support. I faithfully post almost every day. I am not yet in the winner’s circle but very happily hoping becoming a champion!5

Hi, just a quick message to encourage readers of this thread to join us in the UAC!
This will be my tenth month in UAC – the group is very supportive and inspiring. I have been maintaining now for over 2 years but I still need to keep an eye on what I’m eating.
The three “rules” are very simple but hard to achieve sometimes. However, you can just show up every day - doing your best – and the group will cheer you on to be a “Champion”.

I have been a part of UAC for a few months. It’s help me to stay on track. Everyone is very supportive even if you have several passes - it’s ok just keep going. Do your best and you will find all the support you need. It’s about be accountable to yourself the most important person in this journey!3

October will be my fourth month, and honestly, I'm horrible at it, but I still make a check in for every day. The last couple months I've been really bad about exercising and had too many days that tracking (and staying under calories) is just not happening, and yet I keep coming back because I know that if I don't have this challenge I'm more likely to completely give up. And having this group helps give me that extra accountability push to get back on track after a bad day (or a bad weekend).
And even with my intermittent detours, I've still managed to lose 11 lbs in the 3 months I've participated (Right on track for my 1 lb/week target loss rate minus 2 weeks on vacation). I know that wouldn't be happening without this challenge.
TLDR: Join, do your best, even if it isn't perfect, you can still get great results and make progress towards your goals.3 -

In October I will have been in the UAC for a year! I don't make the Winner's Circle every month, but the accountability is what I need to stay the course and ultimately stay on track! For me, the key is to not give up after I've used up my 3 Pass Days!!

Even though I am not as "talkative" as others in this group, I find it very enjoyable and inspiring. I have never made the winter circle, but have been a champion a couple times. This group really does make me think twice about my activities and choices. And, brevity is totally acceptable! :-)3
