Workout Mats?

Anyone have any recommendations on floor mats for working out? I need something somewhat long since I am on the tall side.
I know there are ones you can piece together like a puzzle and ones that rollout, but just curious if others had suggestions. Quality, feel, etc.

I am 5'10" and have this Reehut mat. It is very good quality and nice to use. I also have some puzzle mats but I only use them to protect my floor from my barbell - I don't use them for floor work.1 -

That is good to know, I am mainly thinking for doing floor work and aerobic exercise. My basement is cement and is quite cold for floor work in the winter.

Try Gaiam’s XL Sol mat. That’s my personal mat. I have five and I rotate them. I machine washable them with vinegar and hang them to dry. Very grippy, and last forever. I don’t need that many but I like to keep a new one in the rotation.
I also ordered this one for a verrrrry tall friend, but he hasn’t given me any feedback on it yet.

The Gaiam one looks like it could work if I order some of the "puzzle" mats to go under it. I think the cushion of both of them together would suffice. Maybe I'll add a space heater as well. 0 -

Best mat for me is a “horse stall mat” that I got at a store called Tractor Supply. This thing is awesome- but it weighs like 80 lbs. kind of thin you put in place and leave there.

This is pretty silly, but I use an XL dog mat with thick waffle foam for floor...when I moved to a place with all hardwood, I thought an area rug would be fine--it wasn't, so I grabbed what I had handy so I would keep on with my no excuses, just do it routine. I tried my yoga mat, way too thin, bought a very thick mat, but in the end,, went back to the dog bed. It's not long, but I use it over the area rug, and my legs don't need the pad.0

Got this thick workout mat two years ago on a bare parquet floor, as compared to skinny yoga-style it's easy on barefoot JJs, burpees, dumbbell lifts or side-weight elbows and hips, stays in place, very durable and very light to move around:

I have a puzzle type workout map, but honestly I wish I hadn’t bought it. When I’m doing certain types of exercises the pieces started to come apart. I recently saw some larger workout mats that I think would be better.

Thanks, that is very helpful information. That was my concern with the puzzle-style as well, I just thought it may work better for covering a larger space. I think I've been convinced to at least do a single mat.0 -
