    I hear you!!! I just reflected back on my darn gains this year ... and while I'm down overall for 2021 it is no where near my initial goal and definitely far away from my stretch goal. BUT we have a few months left to tackle the scale before 2022. I'm game if you are :)

    When does outdoor ice skating start back up for you in your area?

    When does outdoor ice skating start back up for you in your area?

    The shallow lakes start freezing mid-December, the city usually makes a rink in time for Christmas skating weather permitting, however, they are quite small so difficult to get any sort of stride going. No arenas around here open yet.

    Starting Weight from End of Last Challenge October 21, 2021 : : 185.2
    Day 01 – 10/22 ….. DNW ….. (Trend weight xxxxx) Surgery today. Not home to weigh. Travel home tomorrow.
    Day 02 – 10/23 ….. DNW ….. (Trend weight 186.8) Traveling home today from Surgery. 4 hour drive and we will be making some stops if all goes well. I will resume tomorrow with a likely gain. As my body heals and the swelling goes down, the scale should adjust.
    Day 03 – 10/24 ….. 188.2 ….. (Trend weight 186.9) Surgery was almost cancelled as my glucose was at 366 Fasting that morning. They pulled in a total of 5 anesthesiologists to confer. To give me an insulin shot (which I don’t normally take, just pills) would constitute the start of a “treatment plan”. Living 4 hours away and without having planned this, they did not want to start that as it would mean they would have to start following up with appointments etc. They finally got special permission if I was put into twilight but not to the point of sleeping. Lidocain was used to numb which did not work. I felt all 4 cuts and removal (which was actually pretty quick). But it hurt like Haides. Awake, I told them. They renumbed me for the stitches. I considered it all my own fault because they had to so lightly use everything for my surgery. I didn’t eat healthy on the way down and could probably have prepared better. I think I am already beginning to heal, it is itching like heck but still very swollen. I haven’t actually seen it yet as it’s not time to take off the bandages. I’ll closely monitor my healing over the next few days due to the high glucose problem which greatly affects healing. The stitches on the interior will dissolve by themselves. I’m feeling pretty good overall but just a bit wobbly. Now, we wait for pathology which I feel very good about since they had already removed a lot of it and it came up clear. Taking the rest out is a precaution and I feel like it will test okay too. Thanks again to all the wonderful wishes and comments. It’s nice to have the great support that MFP offers in every area.

    Starting Weight from End of Last Challenge October 21, 2021 : : 185.2
    Day 01 – 10/22 ….. DNW ….. (Trend weight xxxxx) Surgery today. Not home to weigh. Travel home tomorrow.
    Day 02 – 10/23 ….. DNW ….. (Trend weight 186.8) Traveling home today from Surgery. 4 hour drive and we will be making some stops if all goes well. I will resume tomorrow with a likely gain. As my body heals and the swelling goes down, the scale should adjust.
    Day 03 – 10/24 ….. 188.2 ….. (Trend weight 186.9) Surgery was almost cancelled as my glucose was at 366 Fasting that morning. They pulled in a total of 5 anesthesiologists to confer. To give me an insulin shot (which I don’t normally take, just pills) would constitute the start of a “treatment plan”. Living 4 hours away and without having planned this, they did not want to start that as it would mean they would have to start following up with appointments etc. They finally got special permission if I was put into twilight but not to the point of sleeping. Lidocain was used to numb which did not work. I felt all 4 cuts and removal (which was actually pretty quick). But it hurt like Haides. Awake, I told them. They renumbed me for the stitches. I considered it all my own fault because they had to so lightly use everything for my surgery. I didn’t eat healthy on the way down and could probably have prepared better. I think I am already beginning to heal, it is itching like heck but still very swollen. I haven’t actually seen it yet as it’s not time to take off the bandages. I’ll closely monitor my healing over the next few days due to the high glucose problem which greatly affects healing. The stitches on the interior will dissolve by themselves. I’m feeling pretty good overall but just a bit wobbly. Now, we wait for pathology which I feel very good about since they had already removed a lot of it and it came up clear. Taking the rest out is a precaution and I feel like it will test okay too. Thanks again to all the wonderful wishes and comments. It’s nice to have the great support that MFP offers in every area.
    Day 04 – 10/25 ….. 187.0 ….. (Trend weight 186.9) Feeling pretty good after surgery except when I look at the scale. Almost two pounds over starting weight, even with the overnight drop (Thank you TMI). I know now this is my real after surgery weight true weight. It’s time to put the work in.
    Day 05 – 10/26 ….. 188.0 ….. (Trend weight 187.0) Good meals and great water. Even my rest was a little better. However, not a lot of movement and my steps were lower than usual during this healing process so I’m not surprised at the uptick. I will try to get in more steps today though I am still very wobbly. It’s not from medication. It’s just from the healing process itself. I’m not too steady on my feet yet but this is typical for me after surgery and during healing. No word from pathology yet.

    @deepwoodslady - Steady! Don't need wobbly on all those stairs. Keep up the water and rest! Focus on maybe isometrics or something a little less demanding (not standing on your feet). Take things slow and easy and after you heal you'll be able to tackle the extra steps & movement.

    Day 4: Mon, 10/25: 135.4 - No split shift today, so I will be home for dinner at a reasonable hour. I am going to have a burger on a Kaiser, so had better eat very light all day until then.
