I shared this on my wall, and in another group. One of my MFP friends reminded me that it was an NSV.😊
Yesterday (Thursday), I almost forgot to get my pick-up order from the grocery store. I was already home, so I really wanted to change into sweats before heading out again. Anyway, I decided to keep my nice clothes on. My truck was still warm, so I didn't wear a jacket. It was snowing out, but not cold. I'm in the store and all of a sudden, I hear, "Lee?"
I turn around and see someone I knew, I knew but couldn't place... She said, "It's Sarah." I realized in that instant it was my Junior High School dance teacher. Yes, JH...😳 She just stared, then said "you haven't changed at all." "Are you still an athlete?" I could tell she was doing the math to guess my age... Anyway, I was gracious enough to say, "no, I workout a lot, and eat reasonably well."
In JH I took modern dance, was a sprinter, did the long jump, and high jump. I neglected to tell her that over the past year I've lost 50 lbs. and am continuing to get into better and better shape... She of course looked as tall and lithe as she ever had. I did tell her that. It absolutely made my day!! Trust me, I'm a few Klicks past JH!!😆🤣🤣33 -
I realize that it is a baby step, but I know it is a step forward. My diet and exercise have really dropped off in recent months and I am feeling and seeing the decline...but I just passed 300 days straight in tracking my food and exercise. I need that self-accountability to help me focus, so I am glad I stayed diligent to that during my "bad times" healthwise. Now if I can just get back to having better things to track! LOL32

Using my Nordic Track I was able to do two walking tours of Romania that included sustained 10% elevation. It was hard, but I completed both.29

Do you use if it? Do you like it?6 -
I was doing my workout at Orange Theory today and we were doing lunges. I used to struggle to stay balanced and have to take extra steps. Not today!! I'm so much steadier on my feet doing everything.21

I meant IFIT. Silly auto-edit

Very happy with my October miles. First time this year I reached 100 in one month. Two 5K events (in person this time!), the rest all walks with dog. Happy dog too.

Oooo, that looks like a challenge I could get into! I'll try for 100 miles for November! In October I only got 32.81 miles over 12 hours. I can ramp that up!12 -
When I flipped my calendar page today, I saw that I have maintained perfectly for one month. Yay! I guess that's kind of a scale victory, but the NSV is that I now have evidence that I'm successfully figuring out how to maintain. Even with a trip to my mom's and some major stressors in the mix. I can do this!35

My shoes fit looser. I never thought that could happen.27

I've maintained my weight for a whole month, despite lack of tracking or exercise
My aim is to pick back up and lose more this month!21 -
I have been buying stretch waist band pants and skirts since forever. I had one pair of buttoned up dress pants that have been in the bottom of my drawer for at least 5 years. I wanted to wear another color to work other than my usual navy/brown/black pants. These are RED! Surprise - they fit perfectly and I did not have to suck my waist in to button them up! A year ago I wore a size 28 women's pants. These are size 20 women. Looking forward to having more NSV with my clothes.35

Realized I completed Sober October without even thinking about it.39

Started spinning a couple of weeks ago. Since I haven't exercised in 4 years, it has been HARD. But, on Sunday, I got up to 20 minutes--full effort with just a couple of short water breaks. Next goal is 30 minutes.17

I'm in the "re-learning how to sit comfortably" phase of my weight loss. Lost a bit of my cushion, and now I keep adjusting how I'm sitting.12

My birthday is on Halloween, and I mentioned to my partner that I'd really like to be able to have a piece of birthday cake on my birthday. I told him I was worried that if we made or bought an actual birthday cake, though, I'd eat more of it that I wanted to (because I have that "don't waste food" voice in my head). I thought he'd just buy me a slice of cake or something, but instead he managed to find the world's cutest little birthday cake (in the shape of a little pumpkin). So my NSV is that I had my cake and managed to eat it too! Even better, I also didn't go over my calories! Woot!
If anyone is in need of a little cake - and is located near the Massachusetts/Rhode Island border - the cake came from Wright's Dairy Farm and Bakery. You can see a picture of it here (and they also do other small cakes if you don't want one in the shape of a pumpkin): https://flickr.com/photos/154564533@N04/44409365901/in/album-72157697948630161/22 -
I shaved 46 seconds off my 5k PB this morning!!! I was panting hard the whole way, but I didn’t feel like I was going to die! I’m just a little (like a lot) proud of myself today 😁24

So. I am disabled. And I generally exercise on my NuStep recumbent elliptical. But a few weeks back I was having trouble because one foot kept lifting and turning (super over pronating) and it was messing with my exercise mojo.
I asked for physical therapy. And today was my third session.
And my foot is lifting because my butt is now so much smaller that my usual setting for the seat of the NuStep was two clicks too far back.
I almost slapped my forehead and yelled “DOH!” right there in the middle of the PT session.

Let me second that happy birthday to us! I hope you had a lovely birthday and a wonderful Halloween!5 -
I didn't let family drama sabotage my goals.32

My most recent NSV having to use a belt because my pants are too big on me;)20

Played nearly 90 minutes of soccer yesterday and yet I can walk today. I was actually effective on the pitch as well.22
-
Able to climb out of the pool using the ladder instead of the steps in the shallow end.24

Previously my pilates DVD was an actual workout for me. Today it was an off day stretch I didn’t even sweat through! It feels SO good to be more fit.
Although doing roll ups on a tail bone with no padding hurts more than it used to.20 -
I finished my 2nd half marathon on Sunday and came in under my goal time of 3 hours with a finish time of 2:59:22!20

I didn’t get much sleep last night so when my alarm went off this morning I moved it forward an hour and decided to postpone my ride until this afternoon. When the alarm went off again, I decided that I would do my jog tonight after my ride. I laid there for a while and convinced myself to just get up and go for my jog, the extra sleep I would get would not really make a difference but if I got up and went for my jog I would feel much better. So off I toddled for my 5k. I settled into a nice easy pace and still manage to get it done in 40 minutes and 58 seconds.21

I've been working on my diet/fitness since April/May.
I have a few...
- I ran 46km last week (I've been gradually increasing the milage for a few months now).
- I rejoined the local running group and I'm running in the middle of the pack
- For weightlifting I've surpassed my 5 rep maxes from 2 years ago on everything except bench press (which should catch up this week). Although I'd still like to pass where I got to at my previous best (around 2013/2014)
- 80kg deadlift! (5 reps!)
- my belly doesn't slump over my seatbelt anymore
- most of my clothes were too tight, and now most of them are too loose22
