🍂2021 is winding down, but we've still got time to make a dent in our goals and to continue working on ourselves. What do you hope to accomplish this month or before the year is out?
🍁Sometimes, it can be easy to give up or not work as hard towards the end of the year, because we tell ourselves we can start fresh in January and that we'll have more time, more engery, and more focus next year. And while some of that might be true, let's not throw in the towel just yet!
🍂What are some tips or tricks you have for staying motivated this fall?

Yes I do. I really let myself go during Covid and didn't care. Then my knees started hurting like someone 20 years my age and that kicked me in the butt to lose some weight. But I highly doubt we're the only ones.4 -

Halloween was fun! Went trick or treating with the kids and there were so many people out it was nice seeing everyone’s costumes. I did indulge in some Halloween candy and today is a fresh start. I’m back on track now. Thanksgiving will be the one day I’m not going to stress over portions this month. It’s just one day and I’m going to enjoy it! The rest of the month I’m going to stick to IF and working out consistently. I’m aiming to get under 195 by the end of the month but I don’t have a set number in mind yet. This month is also my last month of Statistics thank goodness 😅. I’ve been in this class since August and it’s been brutal! Anyway, here’s to another month of progress!🦃🍁7 -

So, Crushtoberween had to be postponed because I managed to pull a muscle in my hip on Saturday. (I got ambitious and tried jogging a little--I could do 4 mph for 5 straight minutes with no problem, which was encouraging. It was when I tried to do that *again* that my left gluteus medius went on strike. Lesson learned.) I'm taking it relatively easy this week - just some leisurely walks around the block - and if my hip is up to it, I'm going to try crushing the pumpkin next weekend. Hopefully that works out, as there is a limit to how long I can keep this large fruit in my house. The name of the game is steps until the LoseIt Cryptid Hunt challenge is over, at which point I'm planning to (hip permitting) revisit the Planet Fitness beginner strength/cardio/dumbbell workout videos that I started with a year ago. There are 6 in each series, so if I start those on 11/23, that will take me through the end of the year, similar to what I did last year (I started a week earlier than that, and basically took the week between Christmas and New Year's "off").6 -

🦃 Be patient! and remember that increments are where it is at - every little bit really does count
🦃 Be grateful and give thanks every single day, more than once a day!
🦃 Remember: Total loss of 93 lbs!! 54 lbs till goal weight of 130 lbs!! If I stay on track by Christmas 2022, I would be goal weight!
NSV: I am wearing size Large shirts and sweats, and found cheapestees.com and bought some $3.50 shirts. Because I am not at maintenance weight yet.
NSV: I am wearing a whole size smaller shoe. I had to break down and get workout shoes. Yeah, I think because 93 lbs is a lot of weight, my foot distribution is smaller. (shout out to https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10087100/what-nobody-tells-you-about-losing-weight/ which told me that it was even possible. Glad I knew my feet could shrink, or I would have thought I was losing my darn mind more than usual!)
I am still going to have broad body frame, because I did as a normal size kid- and I take after my father. My father is shaped like Barney Rubble, or maybe a rectangle. His hands are wide, his feet are soo wide he has to get specialty shoes! I really really thought I was a size 8.5 wide in high school at 133 lbs. Maybe I was really size 8 wide, and if I couldn't find wide I probably had to bump it up to 8.5? That is my current working theory, because honestly I did not remember having a size 8 foot. I knew it wasn't size 9 or 9+ until the weight - true.
I am being safe, and not bothering with any clothes, and or shoes I don't absolutely NEED. I do want to get some of my current size cuddly soft sleeping shirts. Not a need, but still! I am doing the 80's Pat Benatar shoulder shirt all the time, and it just really gets my goat! I'm not interested in all this 80's shirt nonsense.

Shocked I had a loss this week as in between last Monday and yesterday I'd gained 5+ pounds. I knew it was what I call "crazy weight" and not actual weight gain, but it was still a little demoralizing. I just tried to stay focused, kick *kitten* in my workouts, and follow the plan, even if that involved Chick Fil A and some cake on Saturday at a kiddie birthday party. It was a treat and that cake was delicious.

- Get ahead in my Christmas shopping so I'm not too last minute. I already have a great head start, but need to get a bit further so I can avoid last-minute angst about presents arriving.

Hello November!
I'm currently working on maintaining my weight between 243-245, at least until the end of January. Then I'll have had surgery on my thyroid to remove the benign tumors that are causing me issues with swallowing, go on replacement thyroid hormone, and once I'm properly titrated I'll be able to lose weight again. I'm treating this as an opportunity to practice maintenance and think about food habits I want to have going forward.
I also want to get back into the gym. I was going to go today but my left wrist is acting up and I do need to be able to use it, so I'll hold off a day, maybe two, and rest the wrist as much as possible.
Otherwise, my boyfriend just finally got work after a year of unemployment, so we're readjusting to life with him working from home, my girlfriend is working hard at her college classes, and the three cats are being cats... agents of entropy as always.8 -

I'm stuck between 210.6 and 209.2. I don't if it's a physical thing or a mental thing, but it feels like I cannot get below 209. It's my TOTM right now, so I know that it's playing a part in this, but it's so frustrating! I have my whole week planned food wise and I'm gonna stick to it! I'm also going to either walk outside or on the treadmill everyday too!
We leave for vacation next Wednesday (going to Disneyland) and while we're going to be walking a ton, I'm gonna have to be good about food choices if I don't wanna gain anything, so I'm a touch nervous about that.

Forgot to close out October (busy weekend), but I made my goal of under 220!
Surprised I actually met my goal. Last month, I definitely ate at or above maintenance while traveling out of state for a wedding. Roommate and I hosted a house warming/game night on Saturday, and I made gluten free, lactose free shrimp alfredo pasta- from scratch! Between that and the plethora of desserts friends brought, I definitely ate above maintenance. I guess it's a good thing the pumpkin cake and pasta didn't last long in our apartment. lol.
This month, the only major concern is Thanksgiving. Staying home, but we're doing it Texas/South Korean style. I'll be making queso con turkey to go with tamales, and a friend who's staying here might make some of his family's SK recipes. At the very least, queso and tamales are pretty caloric. Anyhoo...

Whewwww...the stress is real right now! We leave for NYC in a few days (I'll have a popup at the Union Square Holiday Market for the next six weeks) and it's been super hectic. We ended up having to rent a trailer since all my inventory wouldn't fit in the van. I'm bringing SO MANY MUGS and am a little anxious about it. I hope people feel like being out and festive during the holiday season! This market is such an expensive gamble, so fingers crossed.
Weight-wise, I have a good plan for New York. I have not worked out at all since Labor Day and am really feeling sluggish due to the lack of exercise. It's been one thing after another between back pain and just lack of time / energy. I know those first few days in NYC will kick my butt because I am so out of shape, but it will be really nice to be back in the habit of upping my NEAT simply by walking everywhere, going up and down subway stairs, etc.
I'm bringing my food scale and am glad that our Airbnb has a good kitchen. In past years we've done shared housing and it was always a little frustrating to not be able to cook. There *always* seemed to be someone hogging the kitchen . It's so easy (and expensive) to order everything out in the city but I will be cooking and packing my lunches / dinners as much as possible so that I can manage my calories. After a full year of trying to lose weight, it wasn't until I dropped my calories from 1450 to 1250 that I saw any change at all. And then I saw big changes. I finally, finally have some momentum and don't want to give that up.
My booth is outside, so I'm open to any meals that will travel well and still stay warm! I'll have a thermos, so chili and soup are on the top of the list.
This month's motto:
I can have anything, but I don't need to have *everything*. Meaning, I will still have the bagels with cream cheese, or a good slice of pizza, or a fabulous croissant...but I don't NEED to have everything I want, every time I want it.
Plans for November:
🍁 Keep my calories in the 1250-1350 range.
🍁 Keep monitoring hunger levels.
🍁 Keep my fiber intake up.
Daily Goals:

🍂 Stay hopeful
🍂 Incorporate daily stretching back into my routine
I'm just thinking of how good it will feel to end the year with the same habits and discipline I've had for the past few months. I don't want to have to start all over again in January. I want to just keep on going.8 -
If you have an insulated lunch box or small cooler, you could always put hot food in there. Maybe buy some hand warmers to toss in for heat. That'll open up the door for warm food options! Maybe also buy some hand warmers for actual hands.2

I have this faux leather tank top that I wear to rock concerts. It's a size 16/18 (and far less forgiving than a cotton shirt). I am now a 14/16. I saw the same exact tank top in the clearance section of the online store where I originally bought it. Naturally, I bought it in a smaller size, since it was on sale, may not be available in the future, and eventually the current one will be too big. Except I ordered a size 10. My hope is that, by my birthday in roughly 5 months, I'll at least be able to squeeze into it, and that by the summer concert season, it'll fit. When it comes in, I might put it on top of the original one to visualize the size difference.7 -

Hi everyone! I'm Dani, and I just turned 49 last month. 2022 has a lot of upcoming changes for me--I'm finishing up classes to make a career change, so will be starting a new path soon! Once I get the new job, I'm hoping to start planning to do some remodeling and updating in my house, so need to get my life and finances sorted out so I can get that done. I'm trying to get my health as tip-top as I can because I don't want to be this unhealthy in a year when I turn 50. I have about 100lbs to lose, and I'll be honest, it is SO overwhelming to think about the big picture, so I'm working on creating small attainable goals that I can stick with.

Goals for the month:
1. Log into MFP every day to log weight and food.
2. Make better food choices and be mindful of what I am eating and drinking and how it will affect me and my ability to reach my goals.
3. Lose 4% of my body weight, so about 9.5lbs.
4. Drink my water--goal is to fill and drink my 20oz cup 3-4 times per day.
5. Exercise--get to the gym or at least take a walk or do something physical 3-4 times per week, minimum.
6. MOST IMPORTANT-- Make myself a priority, and remind myself daily that I am worthy of the time and effort that I am putting in.

It just got colder here in coastal Virginia, and I've been craving richer, cozier dinners. I use a cute meal planner that I added magnets to so I can place it on the fridge. Keeps me honest and really helps me keep the grocery list trim. I also exclusively use Instacart for my main grocery shopping (except Trader Joe's runs) and that really helps reduce the impulse purchases!
Made a pumpkin curry last week and tonight I'm making a creamy pumpkin pasta. Beefing up the recipe by adding in some rotisserie chicken breast because I'm just not feeling into a lot of cooking tonight. Anyone else feeling this temp change?3 -
@sargemarcori they're in the PF app under Workouts, I'm not sure if I'm able to link them directly. If you have a PF membership you can download the app and access them, though. The specific ones I'm planning to do are the Beginner Strength Series parts 1-6, Beginner Dumbbell Series parts 1-6, and Beginner Cardio Series parts 1-6. They can all be done at home, no equipment necessary except for a dumbbell (or can of soup, bottle of water, whatever). I think it would be hard to follow a workout video on your phone at the gym; there's not really a good place to do that, IME, without being in someone else's way, at least that's the case for all the PFs I've been to. I also find it hard to focus that closely on my phone's audio, even with headphones, in the middle of a gym that's blasting music interspersed with the unintelligible club announcements about washing your hands or whatever. If your goal is more to learn how to use the stuff at the gym and figure out a program to do while there, you would probably be better served by going at a not-busy time and starting in the 30-Minute Circuit section. You just move from station to station when the timer tells you to. Bam, full-body workout in 30 minutes, and 30MC usually at least has bollards around it to demarcate it as its own section, if not actual walls or half-walls.3

Hi new to the community
I could definitely use support and accountability buddies. I’ve gone down and up and down and up over the last 2 years. Lost 30 lbs earlier this year then gained it back 17 of it.
I’d like to lose 100 lbs in the next year and keep it off!
I know it’s baby steps. So here I am making my first step and post!
I’m an emotional eater and struggle to do any exercise. Have depression.
