Today as I was looking for a parking place at the grocery store, I had to park a bit further out than my usual distance. As I was leaving the store I realized, I don't mind parking further out now!

I made rocky road today! And didn’t help myself to any lollies during the cutting up stage like I once would have. I am getting much better at this being disciplined with my “kryptonite foods”. My plan is to have one piece on the days where my calories allow for it as my after dinner sweet.

I’ve felt disappointed with myself because I haven’t been tracking everything everyday. It’s easy for me to go into black and white thinking and decide to just quit if I’m not perfect.
My NSV is that I reminded myself that the important thing is to keep going. That what you do most of the time will pay off.
If there’s no one else around to give you a pep talk, you give yourself a pep talk.

My clothing is getting way too big and I am fitting in clothing that I havent been able to fit for YEARS! I went from an XXL in yoga pants (busting out of them) to an XL and they are a perfect fit (for now!). It's kinda cool having an old/new wardobe. I cannot wait until I cannot fit anything I have here any longer and I need to go shopping. 😀

Ahhh!! I'm having the same "problem" right now. It's a nice problem to have. Way to go!!

My boyfriend says I've stopped snoring, hahahaha. Sheesh. I'll take it.

Went on a girls weekend away last weekend. The hotel had a pool and hot tub, and I forgot my bathing suit. Stopped at a Goodwill shop to find one, and the only one close to my size was 3 sizes smaller than the one I have at home. After tucking in all the extra tummy skin (one of those "sucks you in all over" type of suits) it not only fit, but looked pretty good. And it was only $5!! All my girlfriends complimented me on looking so good! 80# down makes a big difference. :)

Yesterday at work I looked in the restroom mirror and the words of someone else on these boards came through loud and clear. (Paraphrase bc I don't remember who it was or where I read it.) "I'm tired of rocking the Pat Benatar off the shoulder look." Time for some new shirts! I'm only 1/4 of the way so obvi just a couple things to get me through--Goodwill here I come!
Less excited about needing new bras--I've gone from the last hook to the first, and I can't hang out here for long, from the look of things! I don't care (yet?) about looking good, but I don't want to look sloppy.14 -

Thank you!😁👍🏽 And congratulations!🥳2 -
I was making a donation to a charity my favorite radio station was hosting. They offered me a t-shirt. I said that "I would love one". Then they apologized for not having any small enough to fit me, all they had were XL and XXL. That took me back, because I never think of myself as being all that small.20

2 NSVs here. First, I took a 2 day break from logging my food. Day 1 was frustrating, but it made me realize I needed the break. Day 2 was incredibly restful, and it gave me new energy to start back on Monday (still lost weight during this period).
Second, I noticed one of my favorite shirts from Torrid was getting too big, and a very similar version of it was in clearance. Decided to take the plunge and order it in the smallest size from the store, the equivalent of a US dress size 10. It's made from pleather, so it doesn't have a lot of stretch. Well, it came in the mail today. I can barely squeeze into it, and it's obvious it's at least a size too small, but I CAN SQUEEZE INTO IT. I'm on my way to it fitting comfortably. This is a 3 dress size difference from where I started.19 -
Today was a great day. I went back through my closet and tried things on. I'm now out of my size 20 jeans and comfortably into size 18. Goodwill will be getting a stack of clothes this week and I'll shop there for the next size down.
After my closet, I headed to the swimming pool where I usually swim for an hour. I decided I felt strong enough and had the time to try for a mile...which I did in 80 minutes. Really happy with my progress over the last six months. In July, my average 100 yard split was 10:52 and I swam 550 yards in 57 minutes. Today, my average 100 yards split is 4:25 and I swam 1825 yards in 80 minutes. Pretty incredible.
It's happening!!28 -
My size 12 jeans were getting a little baggy and I was constantly pulling them up. (Can't roll the waist down like you can an elastic waist when it gets big.) Tried a pair of brand new size 10's that I found in my closet from years ago. Still had the tags on. They fit and feel great! That is 4 sizes down in jeans from a 18.31

I went down a second belt notch, since I started my health journey and yesterday I was able to hold forearm plank for a minute. I don't even remember the last time I was able to do that!17

Noticed today my shoulders are straight across now instead of sloping down. I never noticed they did that before.
I know what you mean. Every morning when I wake up my hands immediately go to my shoulder "blades". They are so angular now. I never knew they were there before. It amazes me what was underneath all that fat before. I feel like my body is an archeological dig!19 -
46 yrs old
SW 313 lbs (Dec 2020)
CW 227 lbs
I restarted my weight loss journey Dec 2020 quite by accident. I needed to help out a friend by dog-sitting for a month or so, and ended up having to walk him on a leash several times a day. I lost 10 pounds that month without realizing it. It was the push I needed.
Then, three months ago, I had a health scare from a tick bite. At this point, I had lost about 60 pounds, but wasn't logging food or paying attention to what went into my body...just tried to eat less junk and was still taking more walks and such. During the treatment for the tick bite, it was discovered that my blood sugar was over 350 in the office that day, and my A1C was 12.7%. At the time when I was told these numbers, I didn't understand them. It took almost three weeks for me to wrap my head around the diagnosis of diabetes.
The doctor prescribed Metformin...but I was in a bit of denial. I didn't want to admit that I might need it. Instead, I drastically changed my life style. After reading as much as I could, I wanted to understand how my body reacted to dietary changes and more active exercise before starting medication. I wasn't opposed to taking it, I just needed to get my head wrapped around how food affected my body. I purchased a treadmill so that I would have no excuses. I started logging my food daily. I got a glucose testing kit to keep track daily.
Yesterday I got my three month results. With only dietary changes and exercise...
My A1C is now 6.1% !!! My daily glucose is in the range of 85 to 95.
The doctor was astounded. I thought he would yell at me for not taking the Metformin, but he congratulated me and asked me to keep doing exactly what I have been for the next three months and see him then. I left the office beaming.34 -
My NSV is last weekend we went out of town for a my son's soccer tournament. I realized this meant I would be eating out every meal. I stayed vigilant and made good choices so to my surprise when I jumped on the scale Monday I did not gain any weight over the weekend. Next week is Thanksgiving though and I will indulge in the feast so..........15

Waist size is 36 inches: 4 inches down from July, 1.5 inches away from having a healthy waist to height ratio, and 1.5 inches for just a healthy waist size overall. Ultimate waist size goal is 30 inches (I'm 5'10").14

I fit into an old pair of jeans without my watch telling me it detected a workout. Baby steps.21

LMAO.. I can definitely relate 😄8 -
Tonight at the gym I was able to hang by my hands from a bar and do 10 crunches. I've never had the grip strength to hang that long before. Guess all the free weights are paying off!15

I'm taking a Strength training class and at the end, we go into one of the studios with a wall of mirrors to stretch. I've always avoided mirrors but made it a point to look at myself this time. My body isn’t as bad as I thought. I'm actually strong and starting to like what I see! I'm getting little baby muscles!
It's so much easier to exercise and eat right when I don't see it as punishment.15 -

Today I woke up half an hour earlier than usual and fit in a workout before going to work.
I've been trying to make this a habit, since working out after work is not..well..working out lol.11 -
Ran 2-miles in under 20 minutes while fasted! (19:02 to be exact)10

We have Christmas jumper day/week in work nearer the time. I saw a Christmas jumper the other week out of the corner of my eye, I really liked the colours but carried on walking. I couldn't stop thinking about the jumper Went back another time and couldn't find it, thought I'd maybe dreamt it! Then I saw it on eBay and bought it, it arrived today.
Fits like a glove
It's a 14/16 too! Couldn't tell you the last time I wore anything that had a 4 in it, except maybe footwear!
I'm so happy that it's going to look cute at Christmas and not like some huge round splodge of colour with sleeves that have to be rolled up because I had to buy sizes up to accommodate my belly!12 -
Finally took my measurements after a fifty plus pound weight loss to realize my bra band is down 4 inches from 38 to 34 would explain why I need new bras and current ones are pretty useless but that is good to me. Except for spending money because what I prefer to wear for comfort and exercise can get expensive.
Keep up the good work everyone11 -
Wearing my recently purchased 30/32 Levi’s. They went on without a problem in the AM and at lunch headed to grab a bite. I dropped my keys and without missing a beat or giving it any thought I squatted and picked up the keys and stood right back up. One smooth action and bonus no split pants. No need for a belt and pants stayed in place. Lunch was that more enjoyable.20

It's nothing compared to most folks, but yesterday on my 1/2 hour walk, I spontaneously started jogging twice, for a minute each time (0.1/mile). Superficially, it seems a total nothingburger but but then I am reminded that (1) when this happened for the first time last week, I was able to jog only 30 seconds at a time; and (2) the last time I was able to jog a block all without pain in my knees was 20 years ago. 40 pounds really has made a huge difference, in terms of ability, breath control, and motivation. I hope to keep building, 30 seconds at a time, one day at a time for however long it takes, to a full mile!
