63.9 out of 165 complete.

Not sure what's going on with MFP, but can't access Community on the mobile app, only web browser.
Anyway...5.5 mile run, easy 9:39 min per mile pace with 360 feet of elevation. First run since last Sunday's ultra and legs still a little achy, but getting back to normal.
Going to try something new in terms of my training, I've realised I'm not doing enough speed work therefore will try and do some intervals within my long runs or if I am able to run 3 times a week, one session will be faster/speed work.
November cumulative:
41.8 miles and 2,806 feet of elevation.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who hates the new forum format!
Last night’s run was 6x (1 min at 9:03-9:23, 1 min recovery) and 6x (30s at 8:03-8:23, 1 min recovery). I ran on the indoor track at the gym. My Garmin has acted so funky the last few days and tracked my repeats all close to 11:00 pace, which they definitely were not. I’m not sure how I really did because everything was off. It says I only completed 1.75 miles with my warmup and cooldown included, which cannot be right. I know I did at least 2 miles, but I wasn’t counting my laps, so I’m not sure how much over 2 miles. I reset my watch, so we’ll see how it works tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, I am running the Homecoming 5K at my alma mater.
Training runs: 6/16
Miles completed: 16.49

@polskagirl01 I love the photo but honestly I take one look at the trail and the roots and my ankles start twinging... 😉
My tech has been acting up again today also. I don't know if it's the GPS or the Bluetooth or what but I feel a little like it is Friday the 13th on the 12th today. Doing lots of short runs today as I took my car in for an oil change and inspection and the place is about a mile away so a decent reason to get more runs in.
I have what is turning into a really horrific customer at work. You know the kind who scream and yell and throw tantrums? Trying to ignore the hate mail as the tech industry is in a huge shortage right now but I want to ask him to try "helping" instead of "throwing tantrums"... biting my tongue and will let the higher ups deal with it.🙄
I like the save drafts idea but I miss the preview post option.

they gave us back the BBCode! YES! and the preview is back with the draft
12 Nov total 77.32 out of 150 goal. 207.04 left for run the year so need to avg 4.225 the rest of the year to complete on time. I am slightly ahead planning to coast to the end in Dec hopefully with about 3 per day required to meet it.

Today's run was broken up into 4 parts. 2 because I dropped my car off so I ran home. Then I ran back later to pick it up. And the other 2 because of tech failure again. I really am much better when I just do a long run in one sitting as short ones tend to break up my rhythm.5 -

Two runs since last report, one was more of a saunter than a run - my husband’s birthday, went out to the far side of the Wolf River and ran the trails there, but not with any particular motivation, just wanted to cover 5.3 miles at some sort of pace in honor of his birthday. We ended up with about 7 miles and about 3 of them were running miles, the rest were stopping to look at pretty leaves miles. He’s pretty amazed to be the sort of person who wants to get out and do a birthday run, after decades of being a dedicated couch potato!
Part of the land we have been running back there, which we had checked on a map and made sure was part of the park area, is now fenced and posted private property. I don’t know if there was a sale or what but it’s disappointing. I do know a large area over there has recently been sold to a company which is planning to build some sort of wedding venue.
So, I tried @quilteryoyo ’s leg lift test on a day when I hadn’t just done a bunch of hip thrusts the day before, and I can do more than a minute, but after that I get too fed up and shaky to want to keep going. It’s definitely hard for me, and I didn’t feel like pushing to exhaustion. So, on the principle that anything hard you should be doing more of, I added three one minute sessions to my lifting day, at the beginning of the day. I found it was much easier on a bench with my hands down and gripping the sides of the bench so I have some sort of leverage/balance.
Yesterday we did 5k which I guess was a tempo run? It was intended as a tempo, was a tempo run in terms of effort but pretty slow. Not feeling great this past week, I can’t tell if I’m still battling a flare off and on or coming down with something. Husband and myself both have seasonal allergies which makes it difficult to tell, realistically we can’t be getting a covid test every day but constantly have runny noses.5 -

@WhatMeRunning Thanks for pointing out how to do the spoiler. I would never have figured that out either. Oh wait....they've changed it again. At least it is easier to find above the post.
@AlphaHowls Love the rainbow picture! I actually loved some of the things my flip phone could do that my smart phone can't.
@julieannegannon Glad you were able to get out for a walk!
@polskagirl01 When I went to the chiropractor yesterday, he gave me some exercises to do. One of them is the superman. I actually found it easier than legs alone too. Pretty picture. Sorry about the horrific customer. People!
@marisap2010 Have fun with your 5K tomorrow.
@rheddmobile Happy birthday to your husband and it's awesome that you went out for a birthday run. Sorry about part of your trail not bein accessible anymore though. That stinks.
I do like the save draft button and glad preview is back.

6.12 miles last night. It really felt like a slog, but was surprised to learn that it was one of my fastest runs for the year. My fastest mile was 5. I was, at that point, had lost my focus but the soreness that I usually feel in my right hip had vanished and probably was running a little faster at that point. No rain yesterday even though rain was forcast for most of the day. I was able to get the run in before sunset which is, unfortunately, at 5:32 p.m.
My plan is to continue to run at least one long run (which is 6 miles or greater) and several shorter (3 or 4 miles) run per week.
Still navagating the new changes here. My husband told me that our phones will be inactive in 30 days as AT &T transitions to 4G, whatever that means. We were sent phones which look a lot cheaper than the phones we are currently using. Also was told that our current phones will only be able to dial 911.6 -
Another 28 minute run. My heartrate was a bit lower this time, and the run felt a little bit easier.
This is meant to be the final week of Couch to 5K before you can run 5 km but I'm only up to 3.5 km so I don't see 5 km happening next week. Maybe 4.2 km round the lake, which would be a personal goal.
Having formerly run marathons and an ultra it seems odd to be working hard to do a 5K but having had a lot of illness in 2020 it's been a slow fight back and I'm sort of used to being a newbie again.9 -
@ereck44 Wow. That's a great pace! Glad your hip wasn't bothering you. Hugs regarding your phone issues. Sounds like they are hoping you'll purchase new ones.
@Orphia You are doing great with your comeback. Not sure what your ultimate goal is, but you have to start somewhere and you are doing great with NOT trying to do too much too soon. That was hard for me when I started running again after my surgery....and now recouping from back issues.2 -

What I love about C25K is that you can go at your own pace. You can repeat weeks or sessions as you like. One year I really lost my running mojo so I would just start out with a walk and put it on to get my heart rate up a little bit. You are making GREAT progress and I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that you will return to the fitness level with all the work you are doing.4 -

Mostly cloudy, low 30s F, with a brisk west wind. There was snow on the roof tops and leaf piles this morning. Thought during kilometer 5 that if my legs ran like my nose, I'd be world class.
When you pop in here claiming your December 2021 mileage, what accomplishments will you have made?
PUT THE FUN BACK IN THE RUN!
Return to a good running weight of 175 lbs (second attempt)

This morning I ran my alma mater's Homecoming 5K. Age group awards were only for top 3 under 40 and over 40, so my goal was just to run it in under 30 minutes. I finished in 29:57, so while not my best 5K, I met today's goal. I actually finished in the top 1/3 of females under 40, so I was pleased with that.
My training run for today would have been less distance and slower than the 5K, so I am just letting the race replace the training run.8 -

13 Nov total 86.43 out of 150 goal. 197.93 left for run the year so need to avg 4.124 the rest of the year to complete on time. I am slightly ahead planning to coast to the end in Dec hopefully with about 3 per day required to meet it. Amazing weather so even tho I did 6 in the morning I HAD to get out and sprint a 5K later on. Gotta get while the gettin is good. And I wish they had added a LAUGHING reaction while they were updating things... my nose often runs a LOT faster than my legs.

I haven't been able to get on the forums the last couple of days. But I have been running. I ran 5 miles on both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. The weather has been perfect and I have really been enjoying just getting out and running for
fun. Tuesday and Wednesday I was pretty slow, but Thursday was a little faster. I don't know if it was the cooler temperature or that I was more rested from the race. Probably a little of both. Today was another nice morning and even cooler, but not too cold. I usually take Friday as a rest day, but I am doing the "Don't Hug a Runner Yet" challenge so I got out and ran a 5K. It was really nice and I had negative splits.
I was finally able to get on the web and post this. I hope they get it working for the app again soon. I still need to go back and read and get caught up with what everyone is up to.
