Hello all! I am going to give this a try. I have been actively watching my CICO for almost 2 years. In the spring I started eating gluten free-ish (about 95%) to help alleviate symptoms from hashimoto's. I started Dec 1, 2019 at 231.0 lbs. I am a 38 year old mom of two who "loves" to run half marathons.
November: 203.4 - 199.8: 3.6 lb loss

Nov - Dec: 203.4 - 197.6 - 5.8 lbs lost
1/1: 199.0 lbs
1/2: 198.8 lbs - 7 miles ran yesterday then a whole lot of nothing!!! I watched the harry potter 20th anniversary and rewatched a bunch of game of thrones. Good lazy day!
1/3: 197.0 lbs - I was very low calorie yesterday but ate nothing "good" for me. I had a bowl of cereal, half a bag of popcorn, and a turkey cheese rollup. I just wasn't super hungry.
1/4: 197.6 lbs - It is so cold here this week I don't want to do anything except curl up on the couch with my dogs. I ate gluten yesterday and felt horrible all night.
1/5: 197.8 lbs7 -
Another small loss, and I’m starting to see progress in how my clothes fit this past week, which feels great.
I’m struggling with cravings—at times I just want to eat the world even though I know that excess food will not help. Thankfully, school is back in session, so I can focus more on myself—I love my kids, but parenting really stresses me out at times.

Well I didn't get to the 180 or below. Had an uptick to 181.8 lbs but I was true to my calories, carbs, water and exercise so just a normal weight fluctuation. So I lost 30.2 lbs during the 3 month challenge. Which is excellent!
So starting 11/1 at 181.8 lbs with goal of 15 lbs for the 3 months. This 10 lb average / month that has been going on has got to slow down soon, I'm thinking.
Welcome back to past challengers and to the new ones!
64 yo 5' 4" Heaviest Weight twice-255 lbs, got down to 122 lbs 2010 and kept it off 5 years then got lazy.
11/1/21-181.8 lbs
11/7/21-180 lbs! Down 75 lbs.
11/14/21-176.6 lbs! Down 5.2 lbs of my monthly goal of 5 lbs and my 15 lbs for the 3 months. 78.4 lbs lost. About 60% loss of my goal of 133 lbs to lose. Did 223 minutes on my Elliptical today. I wanted to finish the last 10 minutes of the movie and wanted to hit the 16 mile mark!
11/21/21-177.4 lbs-stayed under my allotted calories/water but did eat 400-600 more calories than my usual 1000-1200. Had 1689 but with exercise was allowed 3804. I don't normally eat any of my exercise calories back. I have been losing about 10 lbs/month but expected it to slow down a month or 2 ago. Guess thats what it is doing now.
11/28/21-175 lbs. Down 80 lbs total, 6.8 lbs for November goal of 5 lbs! I did fairly well on Thanksgiving. I did my Elliptical in the morning (216 minutes-15.25 miles) At the 3 pm lunch I only ate meat (turkey, ham & pork) and broccoli and no gravy. (The sides just weren't calling to me to eat/try them, as usual, in the past). Later that night I did have a small piece of a homemade flan (I never had it before and the girl who made it is in pastry school) and someone else brought a pumpkin cheesecake that looked wondrous, from a Farmer's Market bakery, that I had brought home. I had 1,357 calories of my allotted 3,810, for the day.
12/1/21-176.2 lbs
12/5/21-171.8 lbs- Down 4.4 lbs already!
Crossed out of Obese Category into Overweight yesterday. Also wearing size 10 jeans for a couple weeks but tried on a brand new pair of 8's with the tags on yesterday. Zipped them right up easily but my flabby belly hangs out bad over the waistband so abdominal crunches starting!
12/12/21-170.8 lbs- Down 5.4 lbs for December. So met my December goal of 5 lbs. 11 lbs of the 15 lb 3 month challenge so far! :-) I was at a work Christmas bowling party last night. They were to have some Keto friendly snacks but had pizza, french fries and BREADED chicken nuggets. Glad I took some snacks myself. I had a hard boiled egg, a colby jack string cheese, some pecans and water and stayed on track. I did 242 minutes on my Elliptical this AM for 17 miles.
Couldn't wait for my regular weigh in day!
12/14-169.4 lbs :-) Yessss! Finally into the 160's! Down 6.8 lbs for December, 85.6 lbs Total. Yesterday it was thinking about getting into the 160's. But NOW I'm thinking about getting into the 150's. What a battle going on in my head! CRAZY! I could maybe be in my old clothes by summer!
I got a later start today so I only did 140 minutes on my elliptical for 11 miles today.
12/19/21-169.6 lbs
12/21/21-168.2 lbs
12/25/21-167.2 lbs Did 180 minutes yesterday on my Elliptical for 11.3 miles, and had prime rib, a roasted veggie medley of broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, onion, carrots and zucchini along with a spring mix salad with strawberries, feta and pecans with no dressing on it. I did have a piece of pumpkin cheesecake though but was under my calories.
12/26/21-165.6 lbs I LOST weight over Thanksgiving and Christmas! Today I did 240 minutes on my Elliptical for 16 miles. And I'm having the same thing tonight including the cheesecake.
I'm going to continue on as I have. No break, no slowing down or coasting. I'm feeling so much better. I'm wearing my size 8 jeans today and a medium flannel shirt that I haven't worn since 2014! I've come to learn and accept that I need to live mainly a low carb WOE for the rest of my life. My body doesn't know what to do with carbs but hang onto them as fat.
12/29/21-169.6 lbs :-( Went to Texas Roadhouse last night. So this should be water weight from sodium but I did indulge in a few of the rolls too. They remind me of my late grandma's homemade bread.
12/31/21-168 lbs. December loss -8.2 lbs
1/2/22-168 lbs Down Total- 87 lbs
My official weigh in day is Sunday. Down 13.8 lbs of my 15 lb Nov/Dec/Jan goal.

1/6: 196.8 lbs - Yesterday was another weird eating day. My first meal was at 130 and my dinner was at 6. I guess I am unintentionally intermittent fasting. I am trying to learn to eat when I am hungry. I did try Kraft's gluten free mac and cheese last night for the first time and WOW it tastes just like the original. Happy Thursday all!11 -
1/1/22 169
1/7/22 166 so -3 for the week.
Since my goals are 2 lbs per week I'm very pleased with my weight loss. What I am doing:
Dry January. Zero alcohol, no exceptions. This also keeps mindless snacking in check.
Eating what I want but stopping when I am no longer hungry, not full. This makes a big difference. Also "padding" my entree with spinach. For example, I take a big handful of raw spinach and microwave it for 30 seconds then dump a cooked lean cuisine over it. Adds bulk and vitamins without a whole lot of calories.
Since I am not buying wine, I'm buying mineral water by the case. My fancy mocktail is a glass of pellegrino with a splash of the maraschino syrup from the jar of cherries, and a 10 calorie cherry thrown in. I put this in a pretty glass and feel part of the party.
Trying to move somehow every day. The weather has been snowy and sidewalks icy so I have been marching with small hand weights in front of tv. Anything is better than nothing.
Id like to lose 8-10 lbs by the end of January. I need to lose 15 before dr appointment in March. My dr asked me to do this and I do not want to let her (or myself) down.
Good luck and good health to All!

12/11 152.4
12/24 Since next Saturday is the New Year I'll get back on track for my weigh ins next week. Happy Holidays to everyone!

Well I didn't get to the 180 or below. Had an uptick to 181.8 lbs but I was true to my calories, carbs, water and exercise so just a normal weight fluctuation. So I lost 30.2 lbs during the 3 month challenge. Which is excellent!

Hello! I’m 34F, 5’4 and started using MFP again at the end of May and feel like I am in it for the long haul this time, learning how to cook healthy foods and creating healthy habits.
May 28th 2021 Weight 240lbs (also my highest weight)
Ultimate goal weight 170lbs (I’ll reassess once there but that feels more like a doable goal right now)
Challenge starting weight- 204lbs
Challenge end goal- 195lbs (was 190lb but adjusted my calorie goal a bit higher)
Sunday is my weigh in day
11/01 204.0 up a bit from yesterday but had double my normal sodium intake yesterday. It makes for an even number to start out with
11/07 205.8 +1.8lbs had an imaging appointment the next town over was stressing out for, day of didn’t eat beforehand then went shopping and brought so many treats plus fast food for lunch and dinner. That was the only day I actually went over my bmr but was over my calorie goal more often this week. Plus side, results of imaging were good news.
11/14 204.0, 1.8 lbs lost, 0.0lbs lost this month. Alright, am now at least back where I started this month. Had a pretty good week, two hikes, one walk and two shopping days that got a lot of steps. Finally found a pair of hiking shoes that fit (had to get a mens pair as have not found one women’s pair in wide) Been wearing them around the house and for shopping, hopefully will be good today, first time using them on a hike.
11/21 203.4 -.6lbs the week and month. Okay week. 1 hike and 3 walks but was more hungry this week, and ate out a couple days so I was over my calorie goals a few times. Edited my calorie goal to losing .5lbs a week and may keep it like that for a bit… I won’t make my 190lb challenge goal that way but will still be in onderland by end of the challenge
11/28 202.2 -1.2lbs this week, 1.8lbs this month. 4 walks this week, I eat somewhat unhealthy for a few days this week. On the plus side I also tried a couple healthy new recipes: a Lentil-potato soup and a chicken curry. Both very nummy. Think the loss is more a cumulative couple week whoosh than anything in particular I did this week.
-1.8lbs total this month.
12/05 201.0 -1.2 this week and month. -3lbs challenge. Had a pretty good week, 1 hike, 4 walks and a yardwork day. Under my calories goal every day. Tried a red lentil curry and a tomato garlic chicken curry. Both tasted amazing, I did overcook the lentils, it is a learning process.
12/12 201.6 +.6 this week, -.06 this month, -2.4 this challenge *sigh* Exercised 5 days this week, I was over calories two days and under the rest of the week, overall had a good week. Next week will hopefully show improvement number wise, just gotta keep plugging away
12/19 199.4 -2.2lbs this week, -2.8:this month -4.6 this challenge. !!!Am excited to touch wonderland for the first time in a while. Hopefully won’t bounce back too much next week after such a nice loss this week. Had a great week, had a staycation. Exercised 6 days this week, and got a lot of steps in the 7th. Was under my calories 6/7 days as well. Food experiment this week was a savory oatmeal. Put in tomato paste, garlic and onion powder and topped with some mozzarella cheese. So nummy!
12/26 199.8 +.4lbs -1.4lbs this month and -4.2 this challenge. not as bad of an increase as I was expecting, I was over my calories on 4 days, and would have been on a couple, others as well if not for my exercise calories. thanks to food cart food, a few slices of cake and a milkshake. They were nummy and enjoyable but it’s time to get back to a treat now and then instead of daily.
12/31 197.8 -2lbs, -3.4 this month, 6.2 this challenge. Alright!! End of 2021 and made my goal of being under 200lbs. End of 2022 goal is to be at my goal weight of 170lbs and maintaining. With continuing healthy habits after I reach my goal, I am thinking about trying to get in the 150/160lb range but for now the main goal is still 170lbs.
-3.4 December, -6.2 challenge
01/01 197.8
01/02 197.6 -.2 this week/month, -6.4 challenge. Was excited to be down 2lbs total this week! I know part of it is from the week befores effort too. I always love the after period wooosh
01/09 197.8 +.2, 0.0 this month, -6.2 challenge. Was a pretty good week, I exercised 6 days and active the 7th. I've really been enjoying doing a ring fit adventure kickstart, a "free personal training style program performed entirely within Ring Fit". It's been more challenging than I expected, using muscles I apparently don't use very much. Weight wise, one day may have been close to my tdee but should not have gained anything math wise. I am hoping for another woosh next week.8 -

1/5: 197.8 lbs
1/6: 196.8 lbs - Yesterday was another weird eating day. My first meal was at 130 and my dinner was at 6. I guess I am unintentionally intermittent fasting. I am trying to learn to eat when I am hungry. I did try Kraft's gluten free mac and cheese last night for the first time and WOW it tastes just like the original. Happy Thursday all!
1/7: 197.4 lbs - Yesterday was super stressful and I stayed up super late last night watching game of thrones eating popcorn. Hopefully today will be better.

---November thoughts: Hi everyone! I lost about 10 lbs. in the last challenge, so while not a crazy amount, it definitely was motivational for me! I like the idea of a 3 month goal as it allows some room for flexibility and adjustments, but not so much that you feel like you can slack. And with it being the holidays, I'll need to stay balanced more than ever and remember that a holiday is a holiday, not a holiweek.---
December thoughts: After family Christmas celebrations, I'm happy to have not done much damage! Also, HUGE non-scale victory: I fit again into a bridesmaid dress I'm due to wear this June!!! This wedding has been postponed twice since its original date in June 2020, and my weight has gone up since I ordered it almost 2 years ago. So to fit back into it is SUCH a win! It's still tight, so obviously I want to lose more, but I am just so delighted this morning! So while I only managed to maintain this month, I'm counting it as a personal win.

My husband tested positive for COVID this week, and while he remained asymptomatic (and I miraculously negative--thank you, vaccines and boosters!), it was not the best week for healthy eating. However, I am happy to report that after just 1 day of clean eating, I am already 165.0 lbs this morning! I know I won't meet my ultimate challenge goal, but I am still hopeful to see 159 lbs by the end of this month. It will mean losing 2 lbs per week consistently, but what better month than January to do that? We got this!9 -

Jan 01…..190.0…..(Trend Weight: 191.5)….. Happy New Year everyone. I’ve been slipping, sliding and teetering back and forth since October (just prior to needing cancer-scare breast surgery). I’m ready to stop eating all my emotions and grief and get back on track to the business of health and well-being. I am glad to have ended 2021 over 15 pounds lighter. I am sad that I lost some ground during the last quarter of the year. Recommitting today! Let’s have some fun and do this together, my friends!
Jan 04…..192.6…..(Trend Weight: 191.4)….. I really don’t understand this. It’s crept up the last couple of days and now a huge leap. All the Christmas goodies have been gone. I think maybe I am bloating from milk? I’ve got to get back to drinking my lactose free Fairlife. It usually helps.
Jan 11…..192.6…..(Trend Weight: 192.2)….. Went up higher off & on earlier in the week. Reigning it in. Stove & Fridge is back in kitchen and flooring project done. Now the dining room is being painted but planning meals is much easier. I hope to see some good improvement in the coming week.

I’ve officially completed the gauntlet of Kid 2 birthday, Thanksgiving, husband birthday, Christmas, New Year’s, and kid 3 birthday! It should be fairly routine for the next couple months, which is a relief.
I mentioned this back in November, but I still love my new 6 inch cake pans — I either halve or third a recipe, and it makes a two-layer cake that is perfect for our small family party. I used to make a two-layer nine inch cake, and we’d have cake for a week (delicious, but so many calories).

I'm feeling cautiously optimistic that I can, dare I say, lose 10 lbs by the end of the month if I keep this up. Fingers crossed. The Dry January seems to be the key as I am not consuming pointless calories that don't add any nutrition and worse, the unhealthy snacks that usually accompany my wine. Cheese and crackers are you listening?! Sliders? Wings? Plus due to Covid, we are eating ALL our meals at home where I can control the salt, fat, sugar, portion size. etc. It helps that my husband has been doing Dry January with me. He's lost around 8 lbs. When we hugged yesterday I said, "OMG we can actually get closer together since our bellies are going down!" I mean it was NOTICEABLE.11 -

Hey everyone! I didn't post last week but I'm still working on it. I love the picture someone posted that said, "I want to see what happens if I don't give up."

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to drop almost 8 pounds in the next two weeks unless someone knows where I can get a tape worm. However, if I can really watch what goes into my mouth and pump up the exercise, maybe I can see the 150s for the first time in about 5 years. That's worth working for!
