Today I recognized that I want all the carbs as a result of the current recovery stage of covid ( a normal recovery stage for me for any bug). All the carbs usually results in the mindless munchies winning, but because I recognized it early, I am just being more cognizant of what goes in my mouth. The NSV part is recognizing why I want all the carbs and not just letting myself eat whatever.13

At Orange Theory, there are days when the workout is with partners. As an example, the time it takes for me to row 150 meters, my partner needs to be doing jump squats. The slower I am, the more jump squats my partner needs to do. I used to be self conscious about being so slow. Yesterday...I wasn't the least bit concerned. I not only kept up, but was stronger than many people younger than I am.15

I'm working out again. Traveling, snow, and vet appointments caused a hiccup in my routine. My NSV is that I didn't let a 10 day slump turn into a 2 month slump.13

A couple NSV's from the past week:
-Put on my old winter coat that I couldn't button all the way last year and it not only buttons, but has extra room.
-I can now roll my shoulders and see my clavicle appear like magic!
-Possibly TMI, but I went to scratch 'down there' and realized that there's all this extra room in that area because my thighs and belly have shrunk so much.
-Can comfortably sit 'gargoyle-style' on the couch and can lay any way I want on the lounger (with pillows!) and still be comfortable.13 -
NSV: Just directed by my doctor to cut back on one of my diabetic meds!25

It was cold, dark and drizzly by the time I’d finished work and I realised I’d forgotten my gym card so had to go home first to get it.
My first NSV is that I got to the gym rather than using the excuse to stay at home under a blanket.
My second one is that I ran for 30 minutes despite feeling like my legs were made of lead. I told myself I’d just do 20 minutes but then pushed on to finish my full Zombies Run mission.
I’m under that blanket now though 🙂29 -
Even though it was cold outside and my bed was warm and I stayed up too late, I pulled off the covers at 5:20 and went for a quick run with my dog.21

Realizing I can now shop at thrift stores & find things in my size! That has been huge.
I was able to get some winter coats for very little money that fit! I've gone shopping at thrift stores with thinner friends my entire adult life & watched them leave with piles of clothes for what I'd spend on two pieces while I couldn't find anything that fit that I'd wear. I had to stop myself from really diving in & coming out with more than I went shopping for!
And target. Target clothes fit. I'm getting a medium/large when for decades I couldn't fit into anything they carried outside of the occasional maternity dress.27 -
I'm one week back into logging my food (this is MFP round 3 or 4 for me) and my nemesis has always been sweets. For this entire week, I have been under my sugar recommendation, and I'm NOT craving candy all the time!
My family has a history of diabetes, so I feel like this is a tiny step towards avoiding that result for myself.
Also, I'm on a rec kickball team, and we went out on Friday night. They got hammered while I only had 2 Bud Light seltzers. When we had practice Saturday morning I was energized and ready to go, instead of fighting a hangover like my teammates were.18 -
I fit into size 14 pants and a large top. I turned 50 this year and I haven't worn this size since my early 20s. I actually couldn't believe it. When I first went shopping I still went to the plus-size section and was excited to be able to try on a size 16, since a year ago I was wearing a 24/26, only to find out it was to big. I almost started crying right there in the dressing room. Instead, I said a quick prayer of thanks and did a happy dance instead when the size 14 fit.24

Looking back at my before pics and comparing them to today's 💪18

My NSV is that I no longer feel uncomfortable exercising in front of others. Just go in and do what I planned.24

My fav pair of pants I had stashed in the closet for the last couple of years now fit.15

@VanVanDiane Thanks for not letting Able Township down runner 5. Sam and I are proud of you.😉

I managed to go for workout today after failing to go couple of days on a trot. I’ve been struggling with sleep and motivation is rock bottom, but proud of motivating myself to hit the gym today.19

I'm doing a running program (Running With Hal) and I was able to run 2.5 km without stopping on my last two runs; I run 3 km this weekend! I am initially training myself to run a 5k, with the goal of extending to a 10k by the end of 2022 (or earlier, depending on my progress).
I'm also learning more about nutrition, and specifically hydrating/eating before and after runs which has been very empowering. Lots more to learn, but I feel like I'm in control of the things that I should be in control of!14 -
Today is my first day off. Instead of sleeping in, I woke up at 4:30 and went for my jog. I matched my pb this morning! And for the first time in like 3 years I managed a sub 6 minute kilometre! Then I went out and had a ride on my horse.20

This morning I talked myself out of "just hitting McDonald's" on the way to work. I had homemade greek yogurt in my lunch bag, and THAT was what I ate for breakfast. 200 calories instead of 480 for a sausage egg and cheese McMuffin, and maybe even 960, because sometimes they have that sale where you get a 2nd for 21 cents, and what am I going to do, NOT get a 2nd for 21 cents?15

I love this thread so much! I used to love opening it each morning and seeing 10-20 new updates, but alas, now we are down to 3 or 4 ☹️ Where has everyone gone?3

I was late for gym but still managed to get to the gym and workout. I’m really proud that I was able to do a bit of heavy weights compared to last week. I’m Still recovering from a shoulder injury and refrained pumping iron for almost 8 months now.10

I normally do not eat FF but I was craving Wendy's chili so I look up a recipe and made it at home, even a little healthier.17

My sister gave me her favorite swimsuit because it doesn't fit her anymore since she lost weight. It's a size 16 and it actually fits me and is really cute. I wore it to the pool yesterday. How fun is that? She also gave me some of her hiking pants too. Those are a size 14. I can't wait to get into those.26

Maybe people feel like it's all been said before? I am here to say I DON'T CARE. say it again! Let us cheer YOU accomplishing that thing--and inspire us to create our own win!
Here's mine for today (so far) I didn't go to McDonald's AGAIN. My inner 5yo thought it should be a reward for not going yesterday. XD30 -
My tattoos are shifting back to their normal placement locations. I have knuckles again. I have elbows for the most part, again lol! My calves have a nice muscle tone to them again. I have ankles again. It is so crazy what 50lbs in weight loss has changed! Oh and I can run up the steps and not get winded!!24

OMG I said this to my son last night while we were shopping when we walked past the security cam. It made me so happy!!17 -
For the get-healthy-again competition at work, I was exciting by my weigh-in today. According to the scale we're using, I've dropped a not insignificant amount since Monday! Now, I know some of that is water weight because I ate LOTS of salt on Sunday affecting Monday's weigh-in, and I haven't had enough of a deficit the other days to justify that amount of loss. But it's still good!
Until I heard the results from my office mate, who is small framed and doesn't appear to need to lose anything. She was on her period on Monday so her weigh-in today showed a huge loss! Of *course* she didn't lose that much weight from her already small total!!! And normally it wouldn't matter to me, because each of has their own story. But this is a competition and her percentage weight loss will be HUGE because of this, and mine will be tiny!
NSV is that I can recognize that my story is my own, I want to create new good habits and am on the way, other people succeeding does not detract from my success because it isn't a pie, and I still lost weight. So yay me!
