From 300 lbs to 164, 86 of it in the past 12 months! Age 54. It's possible!51 -
Jenniferelizabeth WOW!!! What a tremendous 1 year transformation. I am so inspired and motivated by other peoples success stories, as I’m sure anyone that reads this thread would be also. Thank you for sharing and keep up the hard work! I know it isn’t easy and can be hard to stay motivated when we fall off our diets/regiments, but know you’re not alone!!4

Thanks! Myfitnesspal taught me portions, but the clincher was mindful eating--learning the difference between hungry and sad, bored, frustrated, etc, and also learning how to recognize when I am satisfied and how to stop eating even when things taste good!9

WTG! That's my reality too 329 trying to get to 135 --although 150 may seem right---looks good on you!

I am refreshing the thread here in the hopes that more of you would like to participate in sharing either your 1 year photo transformations or elaborate on your 1 year journey, in the hopes of motivating others and giving support to those who are new on their fitness journeys. If anyone would like to come and comment on someone else’s success that would also give motivation and support for them to keep moving forward. This is an awesome community so let’s continue to be there for one another! 🤗4

First time commenting on this site, age 63 overweight since the age of 7, obese at 10, morbidly so since about 12. Started this journey March 1, 2021 so I could feel better, move more and live longer. Calories in and calories burned is really what works for everyone if they're honest, the types of food can vary but the wider the range you allow yourself is probably more sustainable in the long run. I have maintained 1200-1400 calories a day (with the exception of approx. 8 days (special occasions, birthday, holidays). As of March 1, 2022 I have lost 145 pounds. I still have a ways to go but I'm taking it a day at a time. Weighing and measuring food is a must for me, my guess at appropriate portion size has been skewed for way too many years to trust myself. I pay attention to getting enough protein, eat vegetables and fruit and probably still too many carbs but limit bread, pasta, potatoes to small amounts. I do water exercise 3 times a week and am trying to talk myself into some weight machine soon. Good luck everyone, being on mfp is a great place to be.22

Mustang5212 Thank you for sharing and on your weight loss success! Amazing results and good knowledge to impart is what it’s all about! Hope you continue to shed those pounds and just remember…no one’s perfect and we all fall off the horse from time to time. The main thing is to try and be the best version of yourself each and every day!!!7

Been a few days since last post was submitted so I’m doing my part to refresh this thread in the hopes of getting more attention to those of you out there looking for a thread full of inspiration and motivation. If you aren’t quite at a year of training or maybe you just are shy and nervous about detailing information about yourselves feel free to comment on someone else’s journey. I think I can speak for them when I say any constructive criticism/ compliments would be not only taken into consideration, but would be respected as no one claims to know all the answeres. What works for some may not work for others, but that’s where some serious enlightening conversations and debates can pop up so please feel free to drop or share and let’s keep this thread active. Thank you to all of you in the community!!!2

Leaving this comment to update the thread! My hopes is that you guys continue to post on this thread. We are in need of more motivation and support, not only in our own journeys, but to share with you as well. Haven’t heard from anyone in almost 2 weeks, but I’m really hoping some more of you guys/gals contribute here. To clarify, if you don’t feel like sharing pictures, you can always leave a testimonial/comment on someone else’s information or ask questions just to keep the thread alive and current. I’m sure we all could use the extra motivation and support from one another. Thank you to anyone interested in helping others progress further in their fitness journeys!3

ChrisRShaw wrote: »Here are my one-year transformation pictures. It all started with the picture on the very right. Looking at pictures after summer vacation trip and actually asking " how on earth did I get this big". (can tell you exactly how but I think it was gradual enough that I just didn't really notice until these pictures). Jumped back on MFP started including workouts and then about halfway through weight training. I am in maintenance now but still learning what that looks like for me.
Thanks for posting this. What is amazing is that you lost less than 1lb a week and totally transformed! I get discouraged if I only lose a lb thinking it is too slow and then give up! I would love to lose 45 lbs and look transformed next year at this time! I am starting about the same weight you were at and am at my best around 130 as well! Thanks again!13 -
Thank you for posting lacatgirl! I’m sure that means a lot to ChrisRShaw to hear that. This is what I’m talking about…how the community can come and help motivate one another. You can also post your own progress as well once you hit your 1 year goal! So make sure to come back and let us know how you’re doing!!!1

@ChrisRShaw Thank you for posting. I'm just starting my journey and I'm very close to your starting weight. It's so encouraging to see your timeline of loss and gives me encouragement and a reasonable timeline for what I can expect from my body as well.2

I started my weigh loss journey at 265 pounds and lost 81 pounds in the first year. (Oct 1 2020 to Oct 1 2021). Today I am down 95 pounds and sit at 170 pounds since December. The before photo was taken September 2020 and the after photo was taken today. Every day is a struggle and always will be but here is how I approached this journey.
* Everything I eat is recorded in MFP - even if I am over my calories. Most days I stay within my calorie goal but if I go over I am ok with it because it is no longer my everyday eating habit.
* I paid for the premium version of MFP because I am able to set & track my carbs, protein, fat etc. I think this was the number one reason why i was successful - I was able to look back at my day and see where the pitfalls were.
* I changed what I eat - my biggest craving has always been pasta but so high in calories and carbs - so I found substitutes. Particularly I have been eating a lot of Liviva which is an organic shirataki made with oat fibre. I used the rice shaped package and mix it in with 1/2 serving of orzo as the shapes were similar and I fooled my brain into thinking I was eating a full size of pasta. I added stir fry veggies and it was very filling for me. Today I just add the Liviva and very seldom eat any pasta.
* I weigh everything
* I started this journey because I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. At the 1 year point of my journey my blood sugars were within normal range.
This is a tough road as all of you know - but hopefully (for me) I can manage to maintain my weight. According to the weight/height scales i should still lose 20 more pounds but I am comfortable where I am.

Was supposed to have a ballroom dancing lesson today but the instructor cancelled due to a family emergency--postponed to Sunday. I was already dressed up so decided to take a couple of current pics, and then wanted to compare to Spring 2019, after I had already lost 50 lbs. So this is at 250 to now 163, size 20 to size 12.

Well…It’s been a minute since anyone has posted on this thread so In the spirit of keeping this thread alive I wanted to ask if anyone new to the site or existing members would like to share and or comment on someone’s 1 year transformationals/testimonials that would be great. I know that there are still many people we can help motivate and support in this journey we all travel together called “life”! 🤗0

So it’s been a few months and no new posts. 🥲Took a vacation to California for some time and thought I’d finally come back to refresh the thread to see if anyone wanted to post some current content to motivate and inspire others. Look forward to anyones contribution!1
