@CupcakeCrusoe I bought way more than 1 box of girlscout cookies, and have been hiding them in my house so they don't all get eaten by my kids, lol. I am able to moderate them for myself pretty well, but my 12 year old will find them soon I am sure, and then they will all be gone ;-).
Also, thanks for the suggestion. I do use Libra which is one of the reasons why I know I am still heading in the right direction even if it doesn't feel it, lol. (Screenshot for reference)

Iโm planning to take a โbeforeโ pic tomorrow (even though itโs been a month since I started). I want something in addition to the scale to see changes.3

Hi Everyone! I missed all of February- lost my streak and actually deleted my app because I was so frustrated with myself. In the absence of those few weeks I have gained 4 pounds. I'm in a better state of mind and ready to fight this battle again.
Thank you @RavenStCloud for keeping this going! I found this thread last July and really appreciate all of you. I'm posting my current weight today, but will be posting on Fridays.

@cowgirlslikeus86 thank you yes I'm finding that when I first start I need to keep track and weigh daily but I'm hoping to change it to once/twice a week eventually so that I'm more focused on how I look and feel and inches rather than numbers but for now daily works for me4
-
Happy Monday!! Hope it's the start of a great week for everyone!!
@CupcakeCrusoe thank you again!!

Good morning and happy Monday! Monday, Monday....
We took the girls to the park yesterday, and wore everybody out. The girls slept well, I'm still tired this morning, but it's fine. Weight's a little up again, but I know it's water, so it's fine.
I had to leave the house well before the sun this morning, so I'm going to have to do my weight lifting this afternoon. Luckily, dinner prepped is pretty hands-off, so I should be able to get it done while dinner's in the oven. Beautiful weather predicted for today, going to be hard to stay in my office. Or in my garage with the squat rack, for that matter...
Tag party!
@osier5 Being in a deficit while being outside your normal routines is hard. It's good that you're thinking about it.
@kramereh that is great progress! Way to go!
@cowgirlslikeus86 It's tremendous that you recognized the trigger for what you consider an unhealthy coping mechanism. That's personal growth right there! So proud.
@lmgoff232 that trendline tho beautiful.
@bonniemcc4 Before pictures are so worth it, even if it sucks while you're taking them. I've got a particular pair of dinosaur pajamas I want to fit well, and to see the highest weight in them and the progress is pretty great.
@DanaRenee518 I'm glad you're back now!
@roz0810 weighing daily is where it's at.
@kirstygudgeon5590 you're so welcome!
Kick it in the *kitten* today, everyone!

๐ March Goals๐
๐ Keep the house tidy
๐ Meal plan and prep
๐ Make smart choices when eating out
๐ Be a more active participant in this thread!
So far I'm hitting most of these goals!

I use Happy Scale, which is fairly similar and I like that it smoothes out the fluctuations. I did hit a point last month, though, where I just bounced up and down the same few pounds and even Happy Scale got sad and showed a little gain. But on the whole it's super helpful for this daily weigher.

@CupcakeCrusoe - it's gorgeous here as well today! I have my deck door open and might head outside for a few meetings that don't require 100% of my focus.
@goal06082021 - I'm trying out tofu for the first time this week! What funny/strange timing! I'm looking for some meatless alternatives for my Lenten Fridays. If you have any good recipes, please post! I'm starting with this: https://www.skinnytaste.com/tofu-stir-fry-with-vegetables-in-a-soy-sesame-sauce/
@cowgirlslikeus86 - I think a lot of us didn't hit our goals in February for some reason or another. You mentioned not tracking regularly...if tracking daily is feeling overwhelming, maybe plan out your week in advance so you only have to track a little here and there during the week? Or track every other day?
@jazzadesigns - welcome back.4 -

Happy March everyone!!!
Goal for March: get to low 190's (193lb - 191lb) - my birthday will be end of March and would love to be out of the obese category which is 190 or less (birthday wish )
It has been a very very busy week working 12 to 14hr days. I have not had time to do the after lunch 30 min walks and afternoons exercises. Cannot complain about the loss though. This weeks loss is do 100% to calorie counting, at least I am keeping up with that. Work will be busy until April 15th/19th and then I can go back to my walking and exercise.
Also, ONEDERLAND!!!! YAY!!!! When I started in January 13th to count calories at 215lbs, I thought it would take forever to get under 199lbs, then I read another MFPs comment saying (and i am paraphrasing) 'time will pass anyways, why not do something about it'

For March, I want to get better at reaching my protein, continue eating less sugar, continue taking steps to improve my mental health. Make it to my appointments. Also, start exercising again (carefully).
2/28/22: 284.2
GW for March: 280
3/7/22: 282.6 (-1.6)
So far Iโve been pretty consistent hitting my protein the past week and continuing to keep my sugar amount in range most days, but need to work on saturated fat. We havenโt had a working fridge the past week and I think that is affecting things.
I exercised 3x last week, carefully and very lightly.
I took my progress photo today. I donโt have a before pic so I used a pic my niece took on the 4th of July. It is better than none but I was sitting in the pic and the pic I took today is standing so itโs not the best to compare.8 -
Happy March everyone!
I have been diligently counting my calories since the middle of December. I am thankfully down 10+ lbs so I am seeing progress. NSV I was able to get my wedding ring back on! I haven't been able to wear it since I was pregnant 2+ years ago!
However this weekend was a bit of a free for all because of socialization. With covid restrictions lifting I know I have to still be careful even when I am socializing.
That being said, I am back to counting calories today. I am not letting a couple of days of relaxed rules derail me completely. This is a long term commitment to myself and I have the control to get on and off the wagon when I chose to. It doesn't have to come with guilt.
Honestly, I want to remember how I felt eating so poorly this weekend. It made me feel sick and sluggish and it wasn't even as much or as bad as I used to eat!

@seltzer_lover the tofu stir fry turned out pretty good! I think I did okay with the tofu for not having really worked with it before. I think next time I'll try to find Extra Firm rather than trying to drain and freeze my way through with regular-Firm, and I also needed to fry it a little longer/better, my judgment needs work there. The process of making 8 servings one at a time was, uh, well it worked but it was more than a little stressful LMAO. I think I just need to workshop it a little more - I ended up using an absurd number of containers to hold everything, going from sliced veggies all in separate prep bowls to portioned out raw veggies together in intermediary bowls to cooked stir-fry over rice in the actual lunch container. I'm a mise-en-place cook, so there's usually 2-3 prep bowls and a number of utensils dirty after I finish making a thing, but it got a little ridiculous - I originally thought I'd just use the lunch containers to hold the raw veg before cooking and then just put it back in there, but then I realized I'd have to put rice in there first for what I wanted to do. I think if I maybe had planned to do it as fried rice from the jump it would have been okay, but I would have needed to cook the rice in advance to get the texture I want. Which I can do, next time, just have to remember that idea.
I'm really pleased with the sauce I made, though, so I will share that:
Makes 8 servings (~53g ea), 47 cal/serving
240g soy sauce (~1 cup)
60g fish sauce (~1/4 cup)
25g minced garlic (~5 cloves)
30g grated fresh ginger or ginger paste (~2 tbsp)
45g honey (~3 tbsp)
29g lime juice (~2 tbsp)

Morning all,
I signed up to my fitness pal in January with all the motivation but somehow I always end up overwhelming myself. I also think back to when I lost weight previously and kinda beat myself up about it.
However, I have now got a PT and workout regime, I have got up two mornings this week at 5am for a 5.45am gym session, once I have actually worked out I feel good and I have to keep that in mind when I'm like just another 10 minutes.
My goals for march
Lose 7lbs as that will take to me to the next stone bracket
Continue to keep up with working out
Continue to implement better food habits
Complete at least 10k steps a day
Drink at least 1.5l of water a day6 -
Good morning everyone! Happy Tuesday!

@bonniemcc4 hitting your protein is huge! I find when I don't, I snack a lot more- I need a certain threshold of protein to feel full.
@sbortnick I'm so happy about your NSV! And your weekend is what it's all about- hopefully none of us want to restrict forever, so sometimes life is going to be going against your goals and that's okay, as long as you keep going. We're all practicing habits for the rest of our lives.
@goal06082021 sounds delicious! I need to become a mise en place cook. I just chop everything on my cutting board(s) and leave it there, and then struggle to get it all off again.
@kirstygudgeon5590 look at you go!!!!!
@hannahl0uisexx I'm glad you're enjoying working out. Always a great feeling to have the workout done and feel nice and strong the rest of the day.
I did my workout yesterday, even though I didn't want to! It was so nice out, and I was in my garage, lol. But my youngest came out with me, and watching her trying to lift the barbell was precious.
Weight's back down a little, just like I thought- I always pop high around ovulation time and my period.
Have a great day, everyone!

It's still very much winter here in northern Ontario. Still have several feet of snow and it's still averaging -20ยฐ.
Next few months will be mostly picking up shifts at work and gearing up for spring/summer time on the homestead. We cut all our own firewood for the winters grow, hunt, fish and raise as much of our food as we can. Lots of work, so between that and my physical job and physical hobbies my exercise is sorted.
No particular person motivates me to lose weight, I just dont like what I've let myself become due to my meds and food choices mostly so I want to change it.

I'm at the point of my weight loss where the 2 pounds of weight fluctuation throughout the week is the norm. Saw 197.1 at one point this week. Food in digestion track sabotaged me this morning.
Funny thing about being the only woman on my team- guys like push up competitions. We work office jobs, but at some point every day when work slows down, one of the guys will announce it's push up time. I can't do push ups, although it's a skill I'm working on. They've pulled me into it by having me do triceps dips against my desk. lol. I work with a bunch of jocks.8 -

Only down 0.6lbs this week. I was down lower but one salty day and I'm up 2 pounds in a day. It's crazy how much our weight changes everyday. Ive been weighing in everyday to stay accountable and I think it's helping. I've been going to the gym everyday no matter how I feel (except the days I work 12 hour shifts). Yesterday I was not as motivated because my coffee maker broke in the morning, so I was in a bad mood but I still got a good workout in. I also take my dog on a walk everyday, so I close all rings on my watch pretty early in the day which feels good.
One day at a time!9 -
Hi, peeps! I am not new to MFP but am new to communities and just found this thread.
Age: 50

SW: 248 lb (1/31/2022)
CW: 237.8 lb (3/6/2022)
March GW: 228 lb

Weight lost: 10.2
Pounds until goal: 97.8
I'm still teleworking from the Pandemic so I walk during meetings and after work. I'm also trying to incorporate strength-training three days a week as it really boosts my calorie burn and helps me lose inches.
Goals for March:
Strength-train three days a week, every week
Average 15k steps per day
Yoga three times per week (alternate days with strength-training so I'm doing a little something every day)

@CupcakeCrusoe your posts are always so encouraging to everyone! Thank you!
@kenziestabes you're doing so awesome! I love that your co-workers do that!!! I can't do a push-up to save my life. Love the idea that you're doing dips!
@Minxgill Welcome to this thread! This is a very supportive group. I started last July and just stopped MFP in February - got frustrated at myself - deleted everything - gained 4 pounds in that short time. First thing I did was get back in this group. I had to get a new username and everything, but my head is back on straight and feel better having started up again!4 -
@kenziestabes
But when you do your first set of full fledged pushups, their jaws will drop!!!! Years ago when I was near or at (my repeat goal weight) 122 lbs my son and his friend, were shocked into silence. They were talking about what they do for exercise to maintain their physique. I was about 55 at the time. I remember we were at a cookout. I had a summer dress on and I dropped and did 10 really good form pushups. The friend said, "Oh my gosh, my mom would never be able to do that! And they were proper pushups too!" My son was quite proud. I want to get back to that skill again too!8 -
Hello Everyone!
This seems like a really supportive group and I'm excited to be back at MFP!
I'm trying to get back on the wagon after a roller-coaster-ride with my weight for the past ten years. (Actually, my whole life) Was heavy-ish through middle/high school, went down to about 130 in college, I had my son in 2009, stress-ate my way up to 220ish, lost a bunch of weight (with MFP) around 2012, went down to 140 and kept it off for a bit, then slowly started regaining. Covid was the catalyst and now I'm back around 220. I'm just getting started again, but I've done it before, so I'm sure I can do it again.
Height: 5' 8"
Goal for end of March: 200?
Ultimate goal: 150 or 160?
Goals for March:
Incorporate more walks and exercise
More vegetables, less pasta
invite/involve my son in walking and cooking healthy meals
Less sweets/ breads/ carbs
More water
Less snacks
Incorporate more non-food rewards- visits, day trips, etc.
Take it slow
Practice stress management7 -
Hello ladies,
I followed Feb but decided I should participate this March. I'm a married, mother of two that decided on Halloween 2021, I needed to make changes for myself and my kids. I needed to get my crap together, start taking care of myself and set a great example for my kids.

Good morning and happy hump day, everyone!
I've just finished my weight lifting. My performance is suffering, I need to have protein beforehand for sure.
Tag party!
@hap2go I know you've heard this before, but weight loss isn't linear, don't get discouraged! Your body retains water depending on recovery from workouts, sodium intake, time of the month, or even based on how much water you take in!
@goldenxbeauty meal planning and cooking gives you so much control over everything. I love using MFP's recipe calculator.
@kenziestabes These jocks will notice your progress, so hopefully you've got a baked in cheering team!
@ladychr0nic I totally feel the no-coffee-blues. A workout doesn't have to be good, it just has to be done!
@Minxgill welcome to the thread! 15k steps a day, whooo! Get it!
@DanaRenee518
@swimmom_1 you can get back there!
@KatieHall77 Your story is pretty much mine. You can build the habits you need now to never have to do that again. Non-food rewards are so important, it's great that you recognize that.
@_manny_702 I hope you feel better soonest, to get it going.
Tonight is taco night, as it usually is when I don't know what to cook, Have a great day, everyone!

I had my first foray into cooking with tofu last night (I've had tofu before, just never cooked it myself).
It turned out delicious and so pretty! Tofu stir-fry with red bell peppers, broccolini, ginger, and garlic over brown rice.
