question for my MFP pals.... my bf and me were at subway yesterday for lunch and i had an oven crisp chicken sub. i usually get the footlong and eat half for one meal and he will have the other the next day. anyway, i got spinach on mine and he thinks it's gross (he likes the lettuce) and thinks i'm the only person in the world who likes spinach on my sub. so the question is spinach or lettuce as the green of choice

I go with spinach. Has much more nutritional value than that shredded Iceberg.0

OH totally both! I love fresh spinach and eat in my omelets to! YUM!0

I like the crispness of the lettuce, but I like the taste of spinach better. I also feel healthier choosing the nutrient dense spinach.
SPINACH ALL THE WAY!!!!0 -
Spinach has more nutritional value than lettuce.0

I like the spinach, yumm. but you could just do your half spinach and his lettuce0

Why not both? It's good!!0

I always go for the spinach and the lettuce on my sub, the more fresh greens the better.0

I do spinach on a BLT there. So I guess I get a BST lol! :bigsmile:0

Used to go for lettuce. But the spinach tastes better and is more nutritious. Spinach!0

Spinach here. Both our Subway's quit carrying spinach a few years ago. The one closest to me just started carrying it again YAY. Is the oven chicken good? I have been meaning to try it.0

Like the others.. Spinach is better for you and it is something that I also prefer. Not just on subs, I also try to get all my salads with it instead of lettuce.0

Spinach.
I pack my hubby's lunch every day and I put Spinach on his sandwiches. It is yummier and it does not get soggy like lettuce.0 -
I prefer spinach over lettuce. I actually buy baby spinach and use it for everything... I never buy lettuce anymore.0

Thanks guys!!! We ended up doing half/half but he likes chopped spinach for dinners so that'll do for now :-)0

Both. I also like the crisp texture of the lettuce, but the flavor and nutrients of the spinach.0

I do Spinach on the Sub, PLUS I have them make my salads with Spinach instead of Lettuce. The Spinach has WAAY more nutrients in it than the Lettuce (so I've been told!)0

i HATE lettuce, i use spinach to replace lettuce in both sandwiches and salads0

I get spinach on my subs. I use it at home in place of lettuces as well, on burgers and stuff.
ETA: my husband and kids eat it that way too. Our "salads" at dinner are often spinach straight out of the bag. My mother-in-law was NOT impressed by this.0 -
Spinach mainly because of taste and the fact the iceberg lettuce makes things soggy.0

Spinach is amazing, lettuce is bland... I like some flavor. (I eat both without complaint though)0

I go for spinach all the time now.0

Spinach (for the vitamins) and lettuce (for the crunch)! I like both but if I had to choose one...it would probably be spinach. At home...I usually choose spinach on my sandwiches if I have any (or alfalfa sprouts!)0

Spinach has so much more to offer our bodies! Lettuce is OKAY but isn't as nutritional or as delicious as spinach (in my opinion!) but I do like lettuce to add to the crunch factor of a veggie sub.0

We love spinach on ours here. We have replaced lettuce with spinach on everything. I think it tastes sooo much better and is better for you.0
