Night Eating-Please Help!
I am a healthy 49 year old woman who exercises 5 days a week using weights and cardio. I eat healthy, (watch my carbs) every 3-4 hours during the day I eat, usually breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. Once I eat dinner in the evening around 7 that’s the end of my eating. I go to bed around 9 pm. Around midnight or 1 am I wake up hungry, usually wanting carbs. WHY! Please help!0 -
I’m a fitness professional who loves to fast, daily 14-18hrs, it’s very difficult to consume the amount of healthy calories I need during my eating windows (2pm-4pm / then after 8pm) due to my fitness teaching schedule ~ I try to eat a lot at once but I understand that the body can only process and digest specific amounts of protein and nutrients at one sitting, what is your opinion? Any suggestions?0

Hi! I am currently in recovery for ED and I am trying to fix my metabolism from the starvation state it's in. I know I have to eat more consistently as well as eating nutrient rich foods. I was wondering what foods would be the most beneficial for someone whose metabolism is in the same state as mine?0

1. What's the best way to adjust your eating when you're not seeing any changes in body composition (i.e. try more veggies, more protein)?
2. How to tell if you're undereating for your activity level?
3. How can the diet be modified once a plateau has been reached after initial weight loss?
4. Best vegetarian and vegan options for protein/complete protein combinations?
5. Best ways to curb hunger/cravings for sweets/salty foods1 -
Hello there! I lost 120lbs over the last two years after a gastric bypass. I am 5 foot 7 and 188lbs now. I would love to get to 175 but I seem stuck at this weight no matter how much/little exercise I do. My food intake is roughly 1000 calories and I try to ensure I eat protein first as advised by my doctor.
Can you maybe suggest how I could lose this last 13lbs?
Thank you in advance 💙0 -

How many calories should I be taking in per day if I want to lose weight but am currently nursing? I have gotten down to my pre pregnancy weight with nursing alone and eating my typical diet (pretty balanced with a few sweets here and there) but was slightly overweight before I became pregnant. Any advice or suggestions for nursing mamas?0

I am trying to become a better runner, is there a way to lose weight without temporarily sacrificing athletic performance? How do I make sure I don't lose muscle mass, yet still get enough carbs to fuel my workouts? Any tips for when you feel low energy while dieting? (I am on the most moderate program on MFP of -0.5 lbs a week)0

I'm on cholesterol meds and try to watch the saturated fat in my food. On certain foods, I have the choice between low-fat and low-sugar. Which is better? I know low-fat can have high sugar and vice versa. Any insights would be helpful.0

I'm a 50-year-old man with a BMI over 30 but also "significant muscle build" (doctor's depiction 😉). I play semi-competitive tennis 2-3 times a week, coach a few hours, do yoga etc. Still, my hips are taking the toll of the weight and I want it down. After a strong start, I haven't been able to lose any weight in several months despite being 1000 kcal under target most days. Any advice on what to eat? I have several allergies (nuts, many raw fruit and vegetables) and avoid red meat. Thank you!0

My co worker says her nutritionist won't let her buy 'grocery store' multi vitamins and she's to go to the health food store. The cost are way over double/triple and seem to have the same contents. What is the difference? Are health food store vitamins a better quality? What goes into a vitamin to make it a poor or better quality?1

Why is quinoa and brown rice better for you when in comparison to white rice. They have the same calorie count.0

I love smoothies but had to move to a mostly vegan diet with very limited dairy and some eggs for the protein. I’m allergic to almonds spinach vanilla(!!) and peas- common ingredients in protein powders. Is there a protein powder you can recommend for me? I also add it to my baking for an extra protein boost.
Also post menopausal and can’t get rid of the belly fat! Any advice?0 -
Question about food measuring. As an example, 1 cup measurement of a dry cereal. If the cereal is “big,” like frosted mini wheats, versus small pieces like rice crispies, there will be less cereal in the measuring cup and more air for the frosted mini wheats. Another example would be couscous versus ziti. Does nutrition information already account for that? should I be smashing those frosted mini wheats into the measuring cup?? Tnks0
