I was prepping a family dinner in my kitchen and was able to stand comfortably without getting completely exhausted by the time I was done with everything.
Now that you've mentioned this I realized that my back has not been aching these past few weeks either. I use to hate cooking or doing dishes since it was a pain in my ........(back)....lol Haven't noticed this issue at all since dropping over 15 lbs. Thanks for bringing it to my attention...13 -
DownsizingSam88 wrote: »I ordered a size S (au8) top the other week as something to strive for. For the longest time I dared not even hope that I could fit a size 8, I didn’t believe my bone structure would allow it, in fact there was a time when a size 12 was my ultimate goal. At the moment I am wearing size 10 and that can be hard to wrap my head around! So ordering a size small is an nsv in itself. I tried the top on the other night just for s#!ts and giggles. It actually fit! It’s not very forgiving material (zero stretch!) so it’s a little tight at the moment but I actually squeeze into a size small and it looks quite alright too
I can definitely relate. I realized I had no tops that fit except tshirts & tanks. I needed a few casual tops. As I am not yet at goal and didn't want to spend alot, I ordered online & was having a hard time decided on size. At this retailer an XL is a US12 a L is a US10, I decided on the XL because I was afraid the L would be a little snug (zero stretch also). I ended up buying 3 XL tops & 2 L (the style/print wasn't available in XL & I figured I'd be able to wear them somewhat soon anyway). Received my order and the L size tops fit just fine!! Definitely an NSV.12 -
I have been extremely tired all day for some unknown reason (potentially just being overstimulated) but I went to the gym anyway and performed really well. I surprised myself and got a ton of compliments, though my trainer was completely unsurprised because in his head I'm some kind of superwoman so for him it was another I told you so moment (but he's too kind to say that part out loud).10

Took my primary measurements a few days ago and I am a total of 22.5 inches smaller than I was when I first recorded them in February. Also my BMI has dropped by 7.4. Still in the obese range but almost half way to reaching the healthy BMI range.21

What are primary measurements? I see people mention a total number of inchds all the time but no one ever shares what they measured.
Great job though!3 -
@bojaantje3822
I think probably:- Chest
- Waist
- Hips
I don't measure that often, but I measure:- Chest
- Girth at navel
- Waist (I'm never exactly sure where that is, so navel is always the same place)
- Buttocks
- Neck
- Quad
- Unflexed bicep
- Flexed bicep
You can use waist and hip to get some obesity estimates by using a waist:height ratio or a waist:hip ratio.3 -
Today is my one-year anniversary of continuous logging into MFP! While I have been on and off the site for years, this is the longest stretch of logging that I have ever done.
The results of that effort:
* I've lost 30 pounds and have been in successful maintenance for about 2 months.
* I've gone from not being able to use my elliptical for more than 20 minutes without hurting my knee to now going about 45-60 min, 4x per week (and I'm faster!).
Keep going everyone!29 -

That's awesome! Congrats! I can only pray I have such success. I just started a week ago and have about 60 pounds to lose to get to a <=25 BMI.5 -

I measure my bust, waist, hips, thighs and biceps. Here is the breakdown for me:
Bust -5
Waist -5
Hips -6.5
Thighs -2 each
Biceps -1 each3 -
After losing 125# I can comfortably ride on the back of my husband's motorcycle. Before I felt too big to ride and scared that he could not hold the bike up when I was getting on and off. Now, he says he can't even tell I'm there. (I will add...he always said he couldn't tell I was there but now I believe him, lol. He has always supported me no matter what).26

I ordered a couple of dresses online, one for one daughter's bridal shower, one for my other daughter's baby shower. I ordered L even tho, the size chart said I should fit into XL. When they came I took them out of the package, looked at the waist and thought "there is no way I'm going to fit into these". I tried them on and they both fit like a dream. And I look darn good!36

Today I went to put on some sandals with ankle straps, and I had to use a new hole to buckle them because the old one was too big. It still amazes me to think I've lot weight in my ANKLES!! The body is a mysterious thing.22

I think that with weight loss comes the joy of our ankles & feet not swelling like before. I have dropped 19 lbs. and am enjoying the looseness of my sandals as well.10 -

I noticed that with my wrists. My watch band is so much smaller and I can easily get my fingers closed around the opposite wrist now.9 -

Yes!! Bodies are so weird.
I have noticed that on my ankles and the tops of my fee as well! Even my previously thin fingers have gotten smaller… a place I would have thought had nothing to give. My wedding ring set is a size 4 and I’m going to have to replace it or have it resized.

Speaking of wrists, I’ve got a Velcro strap on my apple watch, and when it kept snagging earlier today, realized it’s because it’s wrapped so far around my wrist there’s no room left to tighten it, so the strap end is hanging open and catching on stuff.
Hey do I get an award for longest run on sentence of the day?21 -
My Apple Watch band fits snugly on the last hole/smallest setting with the extra length of band tucked into it. My belt fits comfortably on the second to last hole, and I can squeeze into the last hole. This is the belt I bought this year because the old one was too big!10

I hereby present @springlering62 with this super fancy award for the longest run on sentence of the day. 🏆 (only because you asked for one)
😂
Nice NSV though! 👍11 -

Eeeee I'm so happy people are noticing although the scale isnt budging🙄20

My boyfriend nowadays usually asks me "what exercise will you be doing today?" instead of "will you exercise today?".
Three years ago I was a total couch potato!23 -
Went all last weekend without boredom snacking. This is something I really struggle with.19

that is VERY impressive. I will try to emulate you this weekend!6 -
There are homemade cookies in the kitchen.
I had one between lunch and dinner.
I got out two after dinner, got most of the way through the first one, and went to put the other one back, as I was going to be satisfied with just one.17 -
Went to the Apple store with hubs. Immediately craved a double doozie from Great American Cookie.
While he was at the Genius Bar, I rearranged my diary to cover both the middle Eastern bowl we were fixing to have and a doozie (550 calories!!!!)
After we left the restaurant, I muttered “I want a cookie.”
My husband just looked at me and said “skip the cookie-it’ll be a disappointment anyway”. I was full, and he was right.
I told him I’d make some cookies at home, but got involved in some needlework and forgot.
So I find myself with a wad of calories left over this evening, not hungry at all, and a nearly complete embroidered tablecloth. Because, everyone needs a trousseau of linens they’ll never use when they’ve been married 35 years.

I did 108 minutes paddle boarding today, 45 minutes straight, standing.13

I went to a military friend's promotion ceremony today, where none of our mutual friends could make it. He was the only person I knew, and I felt really confident about my appearance DESPITE the zit on the side of my nose. Like, I saw my reflection and felt really good about it. Like, everyone else in our group was in amazing shape and in uniform (I was the only civilian/female) but I no longer feel like I stick out as "the fat one" anymore.30

So an email went out at work late Friday which I didn't see until this morning noting birthdays & anniversaries for July. It included a picture of the employee. My Birthday was in July and the photo they included is 4 years old and probably at my heaviest or close to it. My NSV? I really look nothing like that photo anymore (thank goodness) & I'm going ask if I can send them a new one. Don't think I've volunteered a photo in decades.26

My most recent NSV is stopping ordering food to my house at night. I’ve become addicted to UberEats and DoorDash and last week was able to control myself and not order off it. I have really bad eating habits so it’s a small step but huge for me30

After living with an umbilical hernia for a very long time, I finally met with a surgeon to discuss repairing it. While it is medically necessary to have it repaired, the fact there will no longer be a noticeable bulge in my abdomen is an added benefit.
