Single man with no friends in his 20s

Options
Hey I’m a lonely man who is 26 years old and has no friends and I’ve been on this weight loss roller coaster all year. I am at my heaviest weight and today is day 1 of week 1 of restarting my weight loss journey. Im looking for people to connect with and cheer each other on for our goals to be better versions of ourself everyday. If you’d like to help each other please send me a friend request and a message so we can root for each other. Im trying to reach a goal weight of 150 pounds and I weigh 308 at the moment. Im doin it slow and steady so it’ll be a couple years of work but I hope to be the best possible version of myself before I go into my 30s

Have you checked out any of the Challenges in that part of the Community? That's a place where you can join teams, get encouragement, maybe virtually-meet some like-minded people. You can read the initial post for each, get a feel of whether it might suit you, before committing. Direct link to that area here:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/133315-larger-losers

There are also some motivation groups or threads, in this part of the Community:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/motivation-and-support

There's also a great group for people who have (or had) 75+ pounds to lose, very active and full of nice, supportive MFP people. That's here:

    Wishing you success here!

This is one of my favorite threads with great meal ideas. I hope it's still active. @seltzermint555 really helped me when I joined 7 years ago.

@Jonathanak6 Hi there! I belong to this great challenge, called Just Give Me 10 Days. It has helped me a lot to put things into perspective. I have about 70 or 80 more pounds to lose and am currently down 33. The 10 day challenge thing helps me break it up into smaller portions, so I don’t get overwhelmed by the bigger number. There are all sorts of people there, some with a lot to lose, some with a little to lose, some maintaining. They are completely judgement free and very supportive. You could try it for 10 days and see what you think. We are on Round 196.

Sending you a friend request right now, I am active on here everyday!
ETA: Apparently I’m not tech savvy and am not sure I sent you a request. When I’m on my computer later I’ll try again. I’m on my phone now.

Can I just mention the lonely part? It can be difficult, but I'd highly recommend finding groups to join in person. Do you have any religious background? Go in person to an activity there. You know why there are a million meetup groups around the country and organized activities? Because a lot of people are lonely and want/need to socialize. Community ed classes in your area, walking club, D & D group, motorcycle gang! Anything. It's scary at first, but seeing people in real life is really important. It's how we're wired, to be social beings. Last night I went on a bike ride, and where I started, there were about 20 people milling about getting ready to take a group walk through a park. They started sharing their names as they didn't know each other. We are social animals. Of course be-friend online people too for similar interests, but IMHO it's not the same as in real life.

Sending a request, bro! I went from 285 to 155 in 2012 using MFP on a different account. Once you get consistent, this app works! I would love to encourage and support you!
