Hi everyone! My name is Amanda, I am from Michigan. This is my second time on MFP. I lost 55 pounds in 2016, over the years gained it all back plus some. I started again last March with a goal to lose 110 pounds. I’ve lost 45 and would like to lose 45 more this year. It’s a new month and a new year! My goal this month is to lose 3 pounds.
SW: 205.0
GW: 202.0
UGW: 140 lbs
1/1: 205.0
1/2: 205.6
Stayed under calories but had a candy bar for lunch. Yeah, not making good choices.
1/3: 203.6
I did really good with meeting my goals yesterday of fruits and veggies and fiber but I’m not sure if it was deserving of a 2 pound whoosh. I will take it though, let’s hope it sticks around.
1/4: 204.4
1/5: 203.3
Stressful day yesterday but I fought my chocolate demon telling me I would feel better if I ate 5 squares. Had a smoothie instead. Still had one square of chocolate though because well, chocolate.
1/6: 203.1
I’m doing pretty well sticking to my goals of eating more veggies, fruits and fiber. I’m not doing as well with the meditation and not doom scrolling after 7 pm but these are goals, not New Year’s resolutions.5 -
My name is Liz and I really need some accountability to get my butt back in gear. This is the heaviest I’ve ever been.
Total January loss:
Goal: 220 lb
1/1- 229.4
1/2- 227.0
1/3- 228.4- I had a dinner out with drinks and not the best of food. I didn’t sleep well and I’m back to my normal schedule so I’m weighting in 5 hours earlier today.
1/4-228.0- did great with tracking food and drinking water but struggled sleeping again!
1/5- 227. 0- I had a really great day yesterday!
1/6- 226.8

Happy New Year! I am a mid-40's female who is 5'4" tall, a 2x cancer survivor with Hypothyroidism who is returning to MFP for accountability and to help track the effect of medication and weight. There is a lot of change and stress in my life right now and I am need to replace overeating and drinking soda as my stress reliever with other coping strategies. A star will track when I stayed under my daily caloric goal.

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

01/05-199.0-(Trend Weight 199.2)- A touch up but trend weight is down. I am required to eat breakfast before physical therapy (which is early) so I end up with 3 meals instead of two and a long day of eating at that. Luckily, the therapy itself burns a few calories. I also finished putting away the Christmas stuff when I got home, so lots of stairs to the basement. Therapy involves travel and lunch out, but I kept it simple and did not finish it bringing half home for my son. I am noticing that I just can’t eat as much as I used to. I’m often still filling my plate the old way, or ordering out the old way and it has changed to smaller portions. That is a win, my friends! That should yield some results in 2023. I think maybe I am paying more attention to my hunger and stopping when I'm full instead of automatically finishing? I don't know. I'm going to monitor this and try to figure it out. Now, I Just gotta deal with the every other day (and after travel) bloat days and not let them depress me and make me give up! I’m happy today with all my results after 3 days of travel.
01/06-198.4-(Trend Weight 199.2)- My DD and DGS are here Thur – Sunday (until after 7:30 pm Sunday night) as usual. Dieting is tough through the week because of my cardiac travel (and other appts) and tough on weekends with her here as she is a tiny petite little foody who can get away with eating anything. I’ve got to stick to my guns for the weight and the T2D. My glucose numbers have been running rampant throughout the holidays. Time to get back into some form of control. I’m back down today (basically, depending on the day) to my pre-holiday weight. Time for progress!

linzbecky123 wrote: »Donna (@deepwoodslady) can you explain what “trend weight” means? I’ve not seen/heard that before.
@linzbecky123 To find out what my weight is trending I use trendweight.com which links to my fitbit. Our actual weight can go up or down a bit due to water retention after a hard exercise, water retention from a high sodium meal, TOM issues, etc, temporary hormone changes etc. Even a lack of going to the bathroom on a particular day. These are not true fat gains or weight gains representing fat. So trend weights will average them in for a certain period of time (your choice) to see how you are actually weighing (on average).
On trendweights.com you can choose to have them trend for a two week period, 4 week, 3 month, six month or a full year. You can switch between tabs and monitor all the length choices if you wish. I usually keep it on 4 week so I can see how I'm trending from month to month. There are some other features on the site as well. It is free to use and simple to use.
I like knowing how my general weight is going, even if I didn't go to the bathroom #2 before my weigh in and this gives us a bit of a better picture. I hope this info helps. BTW there are a ton of sites that help monitor trend weight. I just find the one I use to be simple, fast and free.

Hello all!
My name is Ashley, 36 years old. Married with no kids, one dog, two cats.
Original start weight: 293 (01/21)
January start weight: 178.2
January goal weight: 170
Ultimate goal weight: Maintain range of 160-165
Jan 1: 178.2 (Happy New Year! We went out with friends last night and had a little too much fun. Slow moving today. Nevertheless, I have goals to accomplish, so I'm focused on what I want to achieve today.)
Jan 2: 179.8 (All goals met yesterday including a 7KM walk that pushed me well over my 10K min step goal. Food was tracked, water was drank, did my reading. Today is my last day of vacation before we return to the office so I'm going to enjoy every minute!)
Jan 3: 178.4 (Up early and back to my in office routine today. Yesterday I rode the Peloton, walked, and stayed on track.)
Jan 4: 178.2 (Handled my first day back to the office well. Got my 10K steps and stayed on track.)
Jan 5: 178.8 (I have work lunches out both today and tomorrow that will require good planning. Last night I rode the Peloton and hit all my goals for the day.)
Jan 6: 179.2 (Positive day given that I exceeded 12K steps. However, I was put into many different food situations, and by the end of the day I started to make poor choices.)5 -

01/07-200.0-(Trend Weight 199.2)- I’m a little shocked at the number on the scale considering it was a pretty good day yesterday. I even logged for the first time in awhile. 30 minutes straight on the exercise bike too. I also babysat my DGS which means a LOT of stairs up & down and the upstairs steps are STEEP! But I also know that I ate 1/3 of a Chinese dinner (Almond Boneless chicken) and a small amount of egg drop soup. Also, no water pill day yesterday so the bloat is real today. It’s difficult and frustrating to track this way, but I’ll just keep trying to keep my hopes and my spirits up.

@BittersweetVita I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2022. I lost 49 pounds before that since March but then had a lumpectomy and gained some back. I’ll be starting chemo then radiation soon and have no idea what to expect weight gain/loss wise. I know beating cancer is more important than a weight loss goal but im still trying to get my fruits and veggies and protein in.
How long have you been a survivor? what kind of cancer did you have?3 -

Yikes, going the wrong way! We went to an Asian Fusion Buffet last night and I did my best, I didn’t get anything fried, stuck with sushi and chicken and shrimp and fish. Everything seemed salty though. Skipped the dessert. Still…today the scale reflects this. It is logged and today is a new day!

@joans1976 - I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but you got this! I had breast cancer while I was pregnant in 2016 and then developed Leukemia in 2018. Not to worry you - I was just one of those rare birds. Chemo and the meds the give you to balance the chemo's side effects may change your tastebuds, you may lose weight, you may gain weight, you may become anemic, so be understanding of your body during this time For example, I could not stand the taste of water. It tasted like soap to me. So weird. Radiation can cause burns near the end of your treatment, so it is important to keep that area moisturized. In one of my BC Facebook groups, someone had posted what cream they had used and had fabulous results. I had wished I had known about it when I went through radiation - but of course, my memory cannot recall what it was! Lol. If I remember it, I will let you know. You've done an amazing job losing 45 pounds in the past and now 45 pounds in under a year! I am not a doctor, but I believe that quick weight loss can affect your heart and chemo can affect your heart as well too, so talk to your doctor about how to make sure your ticker is handling everything ok during and after treatment. Keep your focus on creating healthy habits and staying active with whatever exercise you enjoy doing. Laughter and joy is the best medicine! Rock this out, fellow sister!3

However, I was put into many different food situations, and by the end of the day I started to make poor choices.)
Jan 7: 180.8 (Up to go hiking with my husband. Not going too far because we have dinner theatre tonight.)
Jan 8: 180 (Worked out a ton yesterday with a hike and the Peloton because I had the energy. The dinner theatre was good - a lot of good but I made reasonable choices. I have already had a short ride on the Peloton today).
Week 1 - Gained 1.83 -

Hi there!
I started on MFP in January 2021 weighing 293. I am 5'9".
My original goal weight was to lose 125 pounds, hitting 168. I did that early in 2022, lost a bit more, and hit my desired maintenance range of 160-165.
In September, I had a vacation and then came back to a lot of work stress, and I gained some weight back, so I'm working to get back to my maintenance range again.
You're doing amazing this month - keep it up!
Sending you a friend request, thanks for reaching out!3
