What kid were you?

You know in pre-school....how there were all those different kinds of kids. The little boy that always lifted up the girls dresses. The boy or girl who ate everything and you would always hear Mrs. Allen say "no no no Tanya you cant eat glue" "Dylan dont eat those buttons". Or the kid that ran around the playground and would not come inside and sit down. Or the little girl in the corner that was shy and wouldn't talk.

Which kid were you? Those are just a few.....

I was the kid "Ellie lay down and go to sleep. You cant leave until you take your nap. Time doesn't start again until you go to sleep".

I was the one so accelerated I had to have special one-person groups for reading, math, etc.
  • I was the smart little Asian girl. Wait.. I'm still that person. HAHA!!

No really, I one of the first ppl at my school to be enrolled in the GATE program (Gifted And Talented Education [for accelerated education]) in first grade.
Usually, they enroll the kids in 2nd grade.

I never, EVER took my nap. I'm pretty sure the teacher eventually gave up and let me play by myself when other kiddies slept.

Now I love nap time :)

I was the little girl who loved to hang upside down from the monkey bars...in a dress. My knees were scraped, my hair was tangled, and my face was dirty.

I was the talkative girl who the teacher had to get on to every few minutes for not paying attention.

I was the kid who's mom was a teacher at the same school, so everyone thought I just sailed through without having to do any work.

Apparently I didn't like snow, or rain, or icky things when I was a tiny tot. These things would make me pout or cry.

I grew out of that though I was a proper tom boy by the time I went to elementary school

I'm absolutely nothing like I was as a kid. I was hyperactive, said anything and everything was that on my mind. Called a stranger fat right in their face. Asking inappropriate questions. I was a huge brat. Then when I started growing up I slowed down and stopped all that.
  • I was the chubby little girl that got picked last for everything....
I don't know why I remember this, but when I was in preschool, the teachers would take all the girls to the bathroom at once and leave the door open whenever one person was in there and the line would start right at the open door. I remember a girl standing there while I was on the potty and saying to me, You're so fat. Your tushy covers the whole toilet! She came in to use the toilet and had such a skinny butt that she had to hold herself up so she didn't fall in. Getting my confidence kicked in started early, I guess.

Me too! They wanted to keep me back through several grades, but my mom let them have her mind. She's a badass.

I'm actually still in touch with one of those boys. He's married to someone else, though. I wonder if she's concerned he might return to his first love. lol

I had to kiss every boy - my parents have pictures from the age of 2 and I'm grabbing another boy by his face and planting one. I got written up and reported on the school bus CONSTANTLY

I was pretty sure that all militaries were aware that my brain functioned differently and therefore felt it necessary to assassinate me.

I was the one that got in trouble for making the boys cry...but not at school, I didn't even think to specify that, I was home schooled until 1st grade, so mostly I was making boys cry in Sunday School...

Also me. I was so "timid" that they wouldn't let me start kindergarten early even though I was smart enough. They said my social skills needed more developing. The way I see it- I never should have started school if it were based on my social skills...ha

Me too, for reading at least. Thing is, no one told me it was because I was *good* at reading. I thought I was being punished.
