Back on MFP. On and off here several times over the last 12 years. I am 52 and remained fittish since experiencing the gain and lose weight cycle for years. I'm a certified nutrition coach, but I do not use it professionally. Used the knowledge on myself, friends, family, anyone who wants help. I am not sure how I am going to use MFP this time around. I have not logged my food in years. Feel free to add me

58 in April, workout 3-4x a week weight training. Lost about 60# last year, got about 20 back, mostly muscle. Goal is to drop to a 32 waist without sacrificing my hard-earned gains.

Started my journey in 2014- got in the best shape of my life, had a baby and was on and off w workouts the last 3.5 years. However the last 6 months I have been consistent and now about to start a mini cut on Sunday! And will be the big 4-0 this year! Looking for motivational friends!

Been on and off here forever simply to keep my training and fueling organized. An injury sidelined me a couple months ago and I finally started PT and chiro. Turns out my injury stems from general core weakness…Goal is to get back to marathon status by 40- 6 months from now.

    So yeah. That’s that.

47 male, Aiming to refocus and wanted to set aside friends who could share a little motivation. Realistically have 1-2 stone to lose! Have set target to get back into running and would like to get this stubborn midline looking less like playdoh. Would just like, like-minded friends to connect with on journey. Please feel free to add.

Just stopping by for a drive-by check-in. Dry January continues to go well. 13 days in and have not been tempted to get off the wagon yet. Holding the line weight-wise. The days are getting longer and I should be able to get some walking done in the evenings

Planning a little caregiver R&R for the weekend. Looking forward to that.

Keep up the good work, campers. Add me as a friend if you like.

    Hey @alteredsteve175

I'm doing a dry January too. I cheated though; I started on Solstice. It has been surprisingly easy.

I do pour myself one "cocktail" each afternoon. Splash of bitters then some tonic water and a squeeze of lime. Q tonic is a whopping 45 calories, so not an issue.

Congratulations, Megan. I like your commitment - "I don't want to gain it back". Heard that. Lots of stories here from people who have lost substantial weight and then regained it.

I lost 45 pounds five years ago and have managed to keep it off. Still logging my food and weighing myself every day. The support and mutual encouragement here at MFP helps me to stay on track.

One of my MFP "Friends" posted this on her newsfeed today. I will probably spread it around because it is appropriate to so many people. Ignore the svelte model; normal people usually won't attain that physique.

Which are your go-to hot springs? I know there's quite a few in your neighborhood. I always wanted to get up to Atlanta, and the one time I was near there the road was cerrado.

44 years old. I've lost about 115 lbs depending on the day. Took me about two years. Can't believe I was so overweight for around 20 years. Great being in better shape in my 40s compared to my 20s though! Just got to start hitting the gym to try to tighten up loose skin.

I went to Lava Hot Springs in eastern Idaho. It was enjoyable, but commercialized. I go to Kirkham near Lowman or some of the hot springs on the South Fork of the Salmon for a more primitive experience.

When I lived in Logan, we used to go to Lava Hot Springs every now and then. Memories! I've soaked in Kirkham when I was spending a week doing paddling day-trips on the Payette a few years. We used to alternate a Payette and a Lochsa trip in years we didn't get permits for permitted rivers.

Good morning! I just wanted to introduce myself. I had to take a break from myfitness over the past year as I had a bit of a rough go health wise. (make sure you read this in more of an upbeat tone as I assure you I am not wallowing in self pity!!) Covid did a number on my lungs (yes, even with vaccine), then a flare up with a lifelong genetic autoimmune issue (probably triggered by covid) all neatly rounded out by an arm injury (Eastcoast girl here on a boogie board in the Pacific....). Anyway, I've lost some muscle tone and gained a few pounds but am finally in a spot to tackle it. Surprisingly, I didn't gain too much. I just need to shed about 10 pounds. But I've gone from running 4-5 miles/day, weight lifting and yoga to basically just getting the dogs out for a short walk and just trying to stay active with the kids. So my goal is to focus on nutrition and lose those extra pounds while also easing into a more structured workout routine (keeping in mind that my arm isn't quite 100% yet.

So if anyone wants to add me as a friend, please do!! I'm a great cheerleader and could use a little motivation myself.

    Thx!!

    Welcome back @alkues

It sounds like you're a fighter. I have no doubt you'll pick back up where you left off, slowly get rid of those few extra pounds, and eventually get back to the activity level you miss. Ain't those last ten pounds the hardest? Yeah. They sure are.
