Howdy y'all! I'm a West Virginia girl who is trying to get back to basics. I lost 50 pounds from January to October last year then fell apart, gaining 10 pounds back. I'd like to drop another 40-50 pounds this year. I'm only 5'1" so my goal weight is <120. I enjoy being active, but I also like lazy days on the couch snuggled with the dog especially in the winter months.

    Starting weight: 160.8
    Jan goal: 155

    Jan 3: 160.8
Jan 4: 159.2 - Coming down from a large high sodium dinner on the 2nd...
    Jan 5: 158.4
    Jan 6: 157.6
Jan 7: DNW - forgot to do it before I ate breakfast.

Hi everyone! My name is Amanda, I am from Michigan. This is my second time on MFP. I lost 55 pounds in 2016, over the years gained it all back plus some. I started again last March with a goal to lose 110 pounds. I’ve lost 45 and would like to lose 45 more this year. It’s a new month and a new year! My goal this month is to lose 3 pounds.

    SW: 205.0
    GW: 202.0
    UGW: 140 lbs

    1/1: 205.0
    1/2: 205.6
    1/3: 203.6
    1/4: 204.4
    1/5: 203.3
    1/6: 203.1
    1/7: 204.1
    1/8: 205.6
Yikes, going the wrong way! We went to an Asian Fusion Buffet last night and I did my best, I didn’t get anything fried, stuck with sushi and chicken and shrimp and fish. Everything seemed salty though. Skipped the dessert. Still…today the scale reflects this. It is logged and today is a new day!

@joans1976 - I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but you got this! I had breast cancer while I was pregnant in 2016 and then developed Leukemia in 2018. Not to worry you - I was just one of those rare birds. Chemo and the meds the give you to balance the chemo's side effects may change your tastebuds, you may lose weight, you may gain weight, you may become anemic, so be understanding of your body during this time For example, I could not stand the taste of water. It tasted like soap to me. So weird. Radiation can cause burns near the end of your treatment, so it is important to keep that area moisturized. In one of my BC Facebook groups, someone had posted what cream they had used and had fabulous results. I had wished I had known about it when I went through radiation - but of course, my memory cannot recall what it was! Lol. If I remember it, I will let you know. You've done an amazing job losing 45 pounds in the past and now 45 pounds in under a year! I am not a doctor, but I believe that quick weight loss can affect your heart and chemo can affect your heart as well too, so talk to your doctor about how to make sure your ticker is handling everything ok during and after treatment. Keep your focus on creating healthy habits and staying active with whatever exercise you enjoy doing. Laughter and joy is the best medicine! Rock this out, fellow sister!

    Hello all!
My name is Ashley, 36 years old. Married with no kids, one dog, two cats.
    Original start weight: 293 (01/21)
    January start weight: 178.2
    January goal weight: 170
Ultimate goal weight: Maintain range of 160-165

Jan 1: 178.2 (Happy New Year! We went out with friends last night and had a little too much fun. Slow moving today. Nevertheless, I have goals to accomplish, so I'm focused on what I want to achieve today.)
Jan 2: 179.8 (All goals met yesterday including a 7KM walk that pushed me well over my 10K min step goal. Food was tracked, water was drank, did my reading. Today is my last day of vacation before we return to the office so I'm going to enjoy every minute!)
Jan 3: 178.4 (Up early and back to my in office routine today. Yesterday I rode the Peloton, walked, and stayed on track.)
Jan 4: 178.2 (Handled my first day back to the office well. Got my 10K steps and stayed on track.)
Jan 5: 178.8 (I have work lunches out both today and tomorrow that will require good planning. Last night I rode the Peloton and hit all my goals for the day.)
Jan 6: 179.2 (Positive day given that I exceeded 12K steps. However, I was put into many different food situations, and by the end of the day I started to make poor choices.)
Jan 7: 180.8 (Up to go hiking with my husband. Not going too far because we have dinner theatre tonight.)
Jan 8: 180 (Worked out a ton yesterday with a hike and the Peloton because I had the energy. The dinner theatre was good - a lot of good but I made reasonable choices. I have already had a short ride on the Peloton today).

    Week 1 - Gained 1.8

    Hi there!
    I started on MFP in January 2021 weighing 293. I am 5'9".
My original goal weight was to lose 125 pounds, hitting 168. I did that early in 2022, lost a bit more, and hit my desired maintenance range of 160-165.
In September, I had a vacation and then came back to a lot of work stress, and I gained some weight back, so I'm working to get back to my maintenance range again.
You're doing amazing this month - keep it up!
Sending you a friend request, thanks for reaching out!

My name is Mary, 65 from Pennsylvania.
Been MIA for a few months but still logging in everyday since I started MFP 5/14/21.

Unfortunately lost my mojo and gained a lot back but not all Thank God! Need to get back on track and focused. I bought a NEW to me, gently used, Commercial PreCor EFX 835 Elliptical. It was delivered the beginning of November, as others here know I wore my previous 10+ year old one out from my extensive workouts. Stopped using it mid November to get my Christmas shopping done earlier than my norm. I was planning go start back up a week ago but had a GI bug and very weak. I restarted today but very slow at 45 minutes and 3 miles compared to my 3 hour historical workout sessions. I will MAYBE workup to it again.

Heaviest weight 255 lbs, twice. :-(
    9/14/20-255 lbs
    5/14/21-232.2 lbs
4/6/22- 147.6 lbs (107.4 lbs lost) I did NOT have a surgery. Did Keto.
    8/1/22- 167.2 lbs
    12/1/22-198 lbs

    1/1/23- 213.4 lbs
    1/2/23- 213.4 lbs
    1/3/23- 207.4 lbs
    1/4/23- 205.8 lbs
    1/5/23- 205.8 lbs
    1/6/23- 201.4 lbs

Its a week into the new year and I'm already back to being completely overwhelmed. Struggling just to check in every day.
I'm glad I weighed in yesterday because I thought there would have been more "water weight" and qas pleasantly surprised. My body is feeling better and I'm looking forward to a good week!

    Easy does it.

@joans1976 A cloth baby diaper was my best friend to put between the breast and my armpit so my two skins would not stick to eachother. I'm not trying to scare you but the burns at the end are real. They will tell you what you use. It seems like it was silverdine cream for me? Hard to remember, but it really helped.

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 62 years old and from Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

01/07-200.0-(Trend Weight 199.2)- I’m a little shocked at the number on the scale considering it was a pretty good day yesterday. I even logged for the first time in awhile. 30 minutes straight on the exercise bike too. I also babysat my DGS which means a LOT of stairs up & down and the upstairs steps are STEEP! But I also know that I ate 1/3 of a Chinese dinner (Almond Boneless chicken) and a small amount of egg drop soup. Also, no water pill day yesterday so the bloat is real today. It’s difficult and frustrating to track this way, but I’ll just keep trying to keep my hopes and my spirits up.

01/08-200.2-(Trend Weight 199.3)- Today finds me eating the last 3rd of the Chinese food. Late post due to DGS not feeling well as I babysat today. 29 flights of stairs for me taking care of him! I will be traveling on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday (to my DB’s 60th birthday party, this one is an overnight trip) and Sunday. This will not likely be a good week.

@BittersweetVita Thank you for sharing your story! You’re very brave. Thank you for the tips about radiation.
@deepwoodslady Radiation sounds like one more door prize cancer gives!
To be honest, I’m more scared of chemo than radiation. I don’t know why this is. Maybe because radiation has been brought up from the start and I just found out about chemo last week. One day at a time.

@midsummer174627 Sorry to hear you’re overwhelmed. Is logging here too much or is it work and life? If it’s logging here maybe try for just once a week or what you can handle. If it’s life in general, feel free to vent here, this is a safe space!

Hi. I am 73 years old and live in deep rural France. I've been at this game all my adult life off and on. On 1st Jan I weighed in at just over 160. Today I'm at 158.4. One of my aims is to give up alcohol. My hubby has a tipple before dinner every evening and if I have one (normally leading to a 2nd) I find it just destroys my feeble self control. Last night I tried an alcohol free mojito beer.
