    My Name is Donna, Age 62. I am 5’5” tall & I live in Northern Michigan USA

    My mini-challenge is to lose 10 pounds by Easter 2023. I started my efforts on Dec. 10th weighing 198.4. My wish is to weigh 188.4 by Easter April 9th, 2023. That gives me about 4 months to lose 10 pounds. Sounds easy but, trust me, it won’t be. Especially when outside exercise is so limited for me this slippery time of year!

    Day 63-01/27-196.0-(Trend weight 197.7) Today shows a nice whoosh after a very good day of diet. I was able to go down to the school yesterday and walk inside for 45 minutes because my daughter works there. That was so nice. They haven’t allowed that since 2019 before the Covid school shut-downs. I plan on doing this a couple of times a week. I will also be rotating in the equipment that has taken over my livingroom. I’m still feeling strong in my resolve. Today is a travel day with a friend who eats too much and is very overweight. She needed a driver. My diet may be off but I will work hard to not undo all my progress. Thanks to everyone who noticed my 5 year anniversary on MFP yesterday. Wow! Where has the time gone?

    Day 64-01/28-197.8-(Trend weight 197.7) After travel and no medication yesterday I blew it with too many “diet” snacks last night including popcorn I could not afford after a bit of a high carb day. Self-sabotage was in full swing I guess. I was also feeling pretty depressed as I showed up at the school to walk with my oldest DD and they said I needed to fill out their paperwork (that’s new!), get a lanyard badge and we can’t walk until after 4:30. My DD is unable to walk except for directly after school so she had to give it up and we won’t be able to spend that bit of time together. I was so sad about this that I sat in my car when I drove back home for about an hour in my garage. I didn’t even have the strength to get out of the car, I was so burdened. I feel I ruined it for her too since seeing me flagged the secretary at the school. I definitely ate my emotions last night. My youngest Daughter and DGS are here as usual for the weekend and I am babysitting today. I will try to make it a banner day to compensate a bit for last night and hope some of this is the non-medication bloat I get after traveling. I’m really getting tired of the 197 – 200 weight range I seem to be bouncing around in for nearly a year now! 192 would be such a welcome change. Still aiming, however, ultimately for the 180’s so I can cross the 190’s off my list above. Then 179 or lower to get into overweight range. Then goal. I don’t care how long it takes but sooner is better than later with the diabetes issues. Pre-logging today, getting some time on my exercise machines (if DGS will leave me alone for 30 minutes) and flushing with plenty of water today are all part of the plan.

    Day 57 – 1/23 - 143.6 - Very late in posting today. I gain weight every weekend. Someone please remind me to make the end of my week like Thursdays next 100. I do workouts on the weekends, but don't get the 400+ steps from waitressing in. Also I haven't had any trail walks/skis because of the weather conditions (puddles on top of ice) and my sore ankle. It was a good weekend, got out to the Theatre Saturday night for a production of "Cabaret". We are due for the weather to become colder here soon, so more ice. That makes it easier for me to handle having to take it easy on my sore ankle in hopes that the steroid will kick in over the next few weeks.
    Day 58 – 1/24 - 142.8 - No splits this week (or ever again?) but I have been invited for dinner tomorrow night, Indian/Indonesian couple, the food is always amazing. I will do my best to keep it reasonable.
    Day 59 – 1/25 - 144.0 - No reason at all for the big jump in weight. I don't feel heavier at all this morning, calories and activity were on point.
    Day 60 – 1/26 - 143.4 - Weight is all over the place. I feel a bit stuck. There is public skating today, but I am not going to go this time with my sore ankle. I went last Wednesday and then was awake all night in pain. Not sure if the steroid shot in my ankle is going to work or not, trying to stay patient.
    Day 61 – 1/27 - 142.0 - Weird. I had a very late night with my other job, Foster Grant, because it is reset season. I didn't get to eat until after 11pm, very surprised to see the drop. Even when calories are on point, usually late eating is not good. I'll take it of course : - )
    Day 62 – 1/28 - 142.8 - I will have a late eating night again since I am going after work to...work.
    Day 63 – 1/29 - 142.6 - Very late getting home and eating. This might catch up to me in the days to come. Going to see "Otto" at the movies today, I love Tom Hanks.

I found 5 pics between the years 1992-1998! My adult children were so little. My kids keep asking who their kids take after. This has been a fun project. It also helps for me to see how thin I was after 3 kids ... and to think I thought I was fat back then!

    Up really early and started watching YouTube videos on the Swedish Death Cleaning. Okay I've been decluttering for years and still have a ton of stuff. Lots of things that I don't use or want. Lots of things that I can easily get rid of. Like Dawn I do have my favorite things ... especially things I bring out to cheerfully decorate the house during the seasons. But there are the DRAWERS of kitchen towels and boxes of extra backup. There are way too many cookie sheets @ least a dozen. There are photos that have been handed down through the families that we have no idea who they are or there are dozens of duplicates of the same photo. These I started going through but you do get too distracted or go down memory lane so I'll touch on those once a week or month to clear out and not do them in a rash cleaning. Tossed both my elementary report cards as well as my brother in laws (however they ended up in my office I'll not know except three were in a pile from my husband's family when his mother passed away in 1984). SOOOO today it is raining. I'm tackling my kitchen and clothes once again!

    My mini-challenge is to lose 10 pounds by Easter 2023. I started my efforts on Dec. 10th weighing 198.4. My wish is to weigh 188.4 by Easter April 9th, 2023.     Day 64-01/28-197.8-(Trend weight 197.7) After travel and no medication yesterday I blew it with too many “diet” snacks last night including popcorn I could not afford after a bit of a high carb day. Self-sabotage was in full swing I guess. I was also feeling pretty depressed as I showed up at the school to walk with my oldest DD and they said I needed to fill out their paperwork (that’s new!), get a lanyard badge and we can’t walk until after 4:30. My DD is unable to walk except for directly after school so she had to give it up and we won’t be able to spend that bit of time together. I was so sad about this that I sat in my car when I drove back home for about an hour in my garage. I didn’t even have the strength to get out of the car, I was so burdened. I feel I ruined it for her too since seeing me flagged the secretary at the school. I definitely ate my emotions last night. My youngest Daughter and DGS are here as usual for the weekend and I am babysitting today. I will try to make it a banner day to compensate a bit for last night and hope some of this is the non-medication bloat I get after traveling. I’m really getting tired of the 197 – 200 weight range I seem to be bouncing around in for nearly a year now! 192 would be such a welcome change. Still aiming, however, ultimately for the 180’s so I can cross the 190’s off my list above. Then 179 or lower to get into overweight range. Then goal. I don’t care how long it takes but sooner is better than later with the diabetes issues. Pre-logging today, getting some time on my exercise machines (if DGS will leave me alone for 30 minutes) and flushing with plenty of water today are all part of the plan.

    Day 65-01/29-195.6-(Trend weight 197.5) I was over a good bit on both the calories and the carbs yesterday although all the food choices were good ones. Mixed nuts (too many) put me over. I won’t be buying them again. These were leftover from a previous purchase over a week ago. Gone Now!!! I pre-portioned but I just can’t stop at one snack baggie. I’m better off sticking to the almonds. Nonetheless, a wonderful WHOOSH today on the scale that I hope is reflective of the benefits of prelogging food, drinking the water, 30 minutes or more of exercise daily and good general meal choices. DD went home so today should be a day without the temptations. I finally dropped below the challenge starting weight and I plan on running with it. Travel Mon, Tue and Wed. Hopefully good choices and portion control are on the horizon. I woke up starving this morning so I’m not eating a damn thing until the hunger stabilizes (which will happen after a couple of hours). If I eat now, I would probably overeat, so IF is in order today. I changed up my macros yesterday. I thought I had my carbs set at 100 but they were actually set for 140 (even though I was not hitting that high in my diet). I've now got them set to the top end of 90 and will slowly tweak from there. After reading the @quiltingjaine article on another challenge, I am going to start checking WHICH artificial sweetner some of my foods may have as it clearly matters to my glucose levels. I am going to look into monk fruit also.

    I had never heard of Monk Fruit. Googled it. Sweetness sensation 250X that of sucralose! Wow.

    @dawnbgethealthy It seems like it wouldn't take too much of it then (to sweeten my tea a bit). I do know that I am not supposed to use anything that ends in -ose like sucralose even though it can be an artificial sweetner as it still spikes the glucose levels in diabetics. (It helps on the weight loss front but not on the diabetes front). I'm going shopping today after the cardiac rehab and I am going to spend a little time in the sweetener aisle reading labels.

    My Name is Donna, Age 62. I am 5’5” tall & I live in Northern Michigan USA

    My mini-challenge is to lose 10 pounds by Easter 2023. I started my efforts on Dec. 10th weighing 198.4. My wish is to weigh 188.4 by Easter April 9th, 2023.     Day 65-01/29-195.6-(Trend weight 197.5) I was over a good bit on both the calories and the carbs yesterday although all the food choices were good ones. Mixed nuts (too many) put me over. I won’t be buying them again. These were leftover from a previous purchase over a week ago. Gone Now!!! I pre-portioned but I just can’t stop at one snack baggie. I’m better off sticking to the almonds. Nonetheless, a wonderful WHOOSH today on the scale that I hope is reflective of the benefits of prelogging food, drinking the water, 30 minutes or more of exercise daily and good general meal choices. DD went home so today should be a day without the temptations. I finally dropped below the challenge starting weight and I plan on running with it. Travel Mon, Tue and Wed. Hopefully good choices and portion control are on the horizon. I woke up starving this morning so I’m not eating a damn thing until the hunger stabilizes (which will happen after a couple of hours). If I eat now, I would probably overeat, so IF is in order today. I changed up my macros yesterday. I thought I had my carbs set at 100 but they were actually set for 140 (even though I was not hitting that high in my diet). I've now got them set to the top end of 90 and will slowly tweak from there. After reading the @quiltingjaine article on another challenge, I am going to start checking WHICH artificial sweetner some of my foods may have as it clearly matters to my glucose levels. I am going to look into monk fruit also.

    Day 59: 01/23 - 231.2 - Walked 1.3 miles. AF. Spent the day digging in boxes and looking for easter pics of my kids for seasonal frame area I’ve created this year. I found 5 pics between the years 1992-1998! My adult children were so little. My kids keep asking who their kids take after. This has been a fun project. It also helps for me to see how thin I was after 3 kids ... and to think I thought I was fat back then!

    Didn't think I was going to make my goal as this week's been a bit unsettled with guests over the weekend and air travel mid week but thankfully things worked out. I expect my losses to slow down now as I get into the groove and past the initial water weight whoosh.

    Day 59: 01/23 - 231.2 - Walked 1.3 miles. AF. Spent the day digging in boxes and looking for easter pics of my kids for seasonal frame area I’ve created this year. I found 5 pics between the years 1992-1998! My adult children were so little. My kids keep asking who their kids take after. This has been a fun project. It also helps for me to see how thin I was after 3 kids ... and to think I thought I was fat back then!

    Day 65: 01/29 - 233.0 @ 3:30am - Worked at the Houston Food Bank for 4 hours packing 900 senior boxes. They were doing 900 more that afternoon. Talk about a work out! Feels good to do something for others though. Largest food bank in the US … huge warehouse.
    Day 66: 01/30 - 232.2 - Rainy day. Decorated the outside of my home for Mardi Gras, Swedish Death Cleaning the kitchen … getting rid of so much stuff I never use or really need to replace. But I did bake a carrot cake which is half gone between DH, my sister and I.
    Day 67: 01/31 - 234.2 - Photography class nature walk and Strength Training class cannot offset 3 pieces of carrot cake (breakfast, lunch, dinner) + pizza for dinner. Granddaughter is still throwing up since last Tuesday even on anti-nausea meds. She saw the doc again on Monday. I’m heading over there to give my daughter some relief so she can go to work and begin her new commercial design project that has been delayed due to her caring for the little one.
