@Mari33a , excellent! I do hope it serves you well. The app will do a beautiful job bridging between your ANT+ and BLE devices, trust me.

Bad neck ache resulting in bad headache. Was a struggle, but got the daily milage in.

At least the parrot was good and didn't shriek at me as I pedaled lol

Sprint intervals in virtual-London. Added in a bit of extra milage at the end to round out the final mile for that sweet, sweet level-grinding experience.

Parrot was a complete butt-wipe towards the end. Last 7 minutes were spent trying to ignore a shrieking banshee with feathers.

Tour de Zwift stage 6 - did the short route due to having an appointment this afternoon and that biting enough time out of my day to preclude doing the long route.

A Parrot! I'm trying to visualize! Hope he/she was cheering! My goldens like to help me with floor exercises- they just supervise the bike and treadmill.

I've ridden a couple times since I've last posted and am hoping for a 90 minute ride today. Will post again with updated miles. Still very behind, but am determined to catch up!

I would love to jump into this! I am a long time mountain biker who bought his first road bike in October. I’m averaging about 50 miles a week, right now, but would like to increase that as the weather improves. I am new to MFP and use Strava to track my rides. I am in the San Francisco Bay area.

Welcome Bill! I think it’s roughly 180 miles per month to complete the challenge so you should be on pace. I’ll try and figure out how to copy my Strava link, but I followed you and @wendsg

I did a bunch of short rides today so I could give my husband a chance to jump on, so here’s my updated total

YTD 82.5/2023. Still pretty far behind but hopefully I’ll be on track by the end of February or soon thereafter…. Should get over 100 by the end of the month if I do a little the next 3 days.

Going to try to ride tomorrow but also want to run…

@SavageMrsMoose LOL Sometimes my parrot cheers me on. Sometimes he tells me he wants step-ups while I'm in the middle of hard efforts. Sometimes he engages me in 'close encounters of the 3rd kind' whistling competitions. And sometimes, he just decides to banshee-shriek at me because I'm not head-bobbing hard enough for his pleasure/attending to his will RIGHT NOW. African Gray parrot, very much a twerp.

@billbiggers06 Great to have you in the challenge! I am envious of your location for the hills (I'm a long-term amateur roadie, and I LOVE climbing - but I live where there are no hills to speak of). Am following you on Strava now. Could never do the mountain bike thing myself - strong aversion to breaking my bones, and I have a grand penchant for falling off of things (my gravel bike was pretty much destroyed thanks to me taking it on single-track and into trees/off boulders/etc. It also went to go dance on the beach for a bit and may have hit some ocean water, hence why I'm /still/ waiting on a replacement bottom bracket for it lol). I'd rather slide down the road at 20 mph in my lycra than smash into a tree at ???. 😆

Done with the daily 10! Gah, I wish it'd warm up outside. I'd love to start riding to have snacks at the shopping plaza down the road. Or just tear the paved trails up on my Bianchi. It cries in my garage. Thank goodness there's Zwift and my old '72 Schwinn on its direct-drive trainer to fill the deficit during cold days.

@billbiggers06 - Another Bill in the group, welcome!

I've been doing more walking than biking, so I'm falling behind, but I'm still here. Need to get back on the Peloton!

89 for the year. Picking it up!

A challenge for feet of elevation gain would be fun

    wendsg Posts: 757 Member
@billbiggers06 As long as that includes virtual elevation, I'd be game! IRL, there's about zero elevation gain around here. We have a bridge that goes up 200 ft lol

If I may, I proclaim there's a special place in the fires of Hades for high cadence workouts. This particular week in the workout plan I'm doing on Zwift is NOT my favorite lol

Weather still too cold and don't feel like slipping-n-sliding all over the place...so been doing elliptical (vs any stationary bike.) 18 miles. Not counting towards bike miles cuz biking to me means just that. Cold temps allows my LBS to replace key components. And allowed me to make scratch Monkey Bread.

    @wendsg Goodness, I was letting my hilly privilege show, wasn’t I! 🙂

The stationary bike we just acquired links to iFit, and I haven’t found a way to import “miles“ from there either directly or through Strava. Maybe I can manually add it to Strava. Open to suggestions; I’m still fumbling around a bit on MFP.

I got out the last 2 mornings, despite temps in the mid-30’s, and got January just into triple digits. Up from here as the weather warms!

@billbiggers06 Yeah, manual entries are the way to go. When I was onboard the ship, before I got a Viiiiva HRM to bridge between the stationaries there to my iPhone so I could Zwift, I'd just take a picture of the screen of the stationary (and the treadmills when I'd use them) and load 'em for evidence of what I was doing.

Daily 10 done. Pace Partners would be nicer if you could silence the voices in Zwift when people spam them for miles on end. Ugh.

Shorter ride this morning due to an 8:00 call, but got in 12 miles and 1k’. 36 degrees, but gorgeous sunrise! Looking forward to getting some longer rides in.

For some reason, there seems to be a communication error between Zwift and Strava. Just gonna load a screenshot of the completion screen from Zwift for evidence of the ride.
