My NSV is that I’m back on MFP after 4 years. I desperately need to take better care of myself and lose about 75 lbs. it’s on my mind every day. All day. And that mean voice in my head has been telling me I’ll never be able to do it.
Well, I decided to try to ignore that mean voice, and replace it with self-encouragement. I signed back on to MFP this week, and so far have had 3 honest-to-goodness great MFP days!
I’m enjoying reading all these posts… it’s a great motivator as I begin this journey!33 -
I joined mfp again and yesterday I was for once under my calorie limit, that never happens, and I found a FUN dance workout on YouTube I enjoyed. I hope I'm in it for the long haul this time!22

Going up the stairs at home without getting winded. 🥰17

I have a non scale/scale victory. Sometimes after a week or more of watching what I eat and exercising how I should, the scale doesn't change and other things - like measurements and heart rate - don't usually change in just that time either, so I get discouraged and fall off the bandwagon. But when I weighed in this morning, the scale had gone down! So hopefully I will take that loss and ride the momentum into another good week where I do see some NSVs
Also, I need to learn to recognize making good food choices and exercising as NSVs.16 -
This week I cycled my commute three days out of 5. That’s 120km on the bike in glorious sunshine. Making it more wonderful, I’ve managed to do it without going carb-crazy and eating the house empty. Happy happy happy.22

Today I walked my dog and didn't experience any lower back pain. I have been adding yoga and strength training to my workout cycle, and after 2 miles I was still feeling great. Could have probably done 2 more if I had the time.13

I would need a hydraulic jack to lift that! Very impressive!5 -
Congrats, that is so wonderful!
I have only lost 15 so far (long way to go) but I love feeling my clothes get less snug! I was consistently going up in sizes and it feels so nice to know that I am finally on the right path.19 -
I got at least 5,000 steps every day this week and also I tracked my eating everyday.29

Tightened the duty belt a notch!19

Haven't bought snacks in like two weeks23

Was able to bring my knees to my chest while doing a rock and roll in Yoga 🥹🥲17

If you have a chance to join a "Steps Challenge" in your team, I. highly encourage you to do so. I have nerve damage in my left leg and need to use a walker to get around. I made a goal of 2,000 steps per day because of the "Steps Challenge" on our Koala 5% Team. I haven't always reached it, but for the first time, I actually pay attention to how many steps I take. It keeps walking on my mind instead of sitting around feeling sorry for myself!26

I had lost over 20 pounds and kept it off for a year, and then I recently gained back 7 or 8 when I stopped paying attention. My NSV is that I started journaling again.26

My nsv is that I’m in size 12 Aus clothes now.29

After losing 20 lbs (and working on core strengthening) I was able to walk for 45 minutes WITHOUT BACK PAIN for the first time in about two years. I will be increasing my steps!!!!27

OH noticed yesterday that I looked “slimmer” He has a reputation of not noticing anything - including when I had pink bangs put in my hair 🤣25

Started walking with a friend at a local park…#nsv #walkwithafriend21

When I first started using my fitness tracker in Feb '22 I had about 131K steps for the month. Last month, May '23, I had 295K steps for the month. My measured exercise time has more than doubled, from 27 hours to 59 hours.
I started buying ladies size medium/10 a couple months ago but they were still a little snug. Now the tops are fitting perfectly and the bottoms are getting a little loose.23 -
Yesterday I wore a Juniors size tshirt to the gym because it was loose enough to be comfortable. It used to be in my "too tight to wear" box.24

Me jeans are getting a little loose! Third time so far that I've gone through the "jeans getting too loose" ordeal. Feels good and bad each time - Good because woah, progress! Bad because baggy jeans look REALLY bad on me, and it's so expensive to buy new pairs, too.
Luckily, I've found a hack this time - I can just wear leggings in the meantime! Leggings work wonders for me Leggings are tight enough in the beginning that they don't need to be replaced nearly as frequently as jeans do. I can comfortable lose at least 55 pounds before my leggings start getting too big.17 -
Just bought my first size 10 shorts! A little tight, but I really like them, they were on sale, and I'll need them very soon.22

Going both on the treadmill and for a walk outside today16

A few this week:
•I did a strength workout
•I did some stretching one day - I really need to do this more regularly because my back and neck have been sore recently
•my resting heart rate was at 65 or less for a whole week - my next goal is to be at 63 or less for an entire week
•I got at least 5,000 steps everyday
I did not track everyday but the days have been super crazy with getting my parents all packed up to move and doing some packing of my own. Hopefully this week, I can get back into it and just some semblance of normalcy in general.15 -
I went to the gym for the first time with my friend on Saturday, and she showed me what she normally does. (She also got them to let me try the hydromassage chair, haha). I downloaded the app and have a free day pass, so I'm actually going again tonight after work on my own, and I'm highly considering buying the membership. I've never been a gym person before, I always felt too self-conscious. But now, I feel like I'm putting my health and my desire for change first!26

Been doing a beginning runner program and getting better every week.22

The VO2 max feature on my Garmin is reading my fitness age as 12 years younger than I am. This is so wonderful and incredible to me because I had Long Covid and just six months ago, my fitness age was reading 5 years older than I am. One of my non-scale goals is to reduce my fitness age as much as possible.24

Today I looked down and saw my feet instead of my belly! I'm not sure why but it was a bit of a surprise.34
-
This morning after my shower, I actually noticed that my stomach is a little bit smaller and I'm able to see my feet rather than my stomach! This has been a long time coming. Trying to stay motivated as this past week has been very difficult for me with stress (stress eating 😰). Reading everyone's NSF has been very motivating and I will continue to follow along my journey!24

This is a weird NSV.
I thought today, “I haven’t cut my legs shaving in a couple of years.”
Before, as an obese person, I either couldn’t see the darn things and had to contort, or the skin was “not tight” and the razor would skip and snag.
I no longer have to contort, and my now-muscled-and-taut legs shave smoothly.
There’s also less real estate to cover. 😂
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.34
