A colleague came over for dinner on a last minute invite. Chinese turnip cake I made Thursday and bunged into the fridge before pan frying slices tonight. Main of chicken and snow pea stir fry with my mom's invention of stir fried frozen peas with garlic and salt which goes remarkably well with asian food. Dessert of lychee and coconut sorbet I made last weekend and popped into the freezer.

@acpgee What a delicious-looking dinner, your colleague is lucky
I just finished eating this Turchetta (rolled-up turkey breast stuffed with prosciutto, garlic, sage, and parmesan cheese) in a red wine sauce, with broccolini sautéed in olive oil & garlic. It looked prettier before I poured the sauce over it, oops.

Went out with girlfriends for a dim sum lunch in Chinatown. It's a ritual we do every 2 or 3 months.

Lightly smoked tri-tip with asparagus and Hollandaise Sauce (which broke... ah well).

Tried a new recipe for breakfast and it was delicious!!
Egg, feta, hot pepper flakes, paprika, green onions, bell pepper, spinach, grape tomatoes, and olive oil mixed and spread over bread then cooked for 10 minutes at 350F. I broiled mine too as I prefer the bread crispy.

Quick midweek meal. Tenderstem broccoli was blanched in boiling water in a bowl before quickly stir frying with garlic. Potatoes were pricked with a fork and microwaved whole for 8 minutes before cutting in half and pulverized in the potato ricer, cut side down with skins removed each time before stirring in milk and salt. Lamb shank was cooked sous vide a couple of weekends ago for many hours and finished for 15 minutes in the air fryer to brown. Lamb gravy made of pomegranate molasses and sous vide liquid was pulled out of the freezer.

@acpgee That looks incredible. My lunch was leftover porchetta from a few days ago, stirred into a fresh cabbage salad (green cabbage, mayo, olive oil, lemon juice, and a couple grinds of salt). I thought the broccolini would be a great match but this combo was far, far better. Though it probably doesn't look as good (ya had to be there, haha). It's a bit like bbq & coleslaw but with different flavors obviously. I had the cabbage as a side the other day, but the magic didn't happen until I mixed the two 💡5

Yogurt with honey and pecans
Whole wheat toasted with olive oil

Simple weeknight dinner. Starter of salad with halved grapes and blue cheese. Main of spaghetti aglio olio.

Soy Sauce Marinated Pork Shoulder Steak and Blackened Cabbage with Brown Butter. I made a couple small changes to the cabbage recipe: didn't use kombu; replaced the flaky sea salt with tamari.
P.S. If anyone cares... my last post should have said turchetta, not porchetta

A delicious avocado. And chilled tomato soup with a drizzle of olive oil.

... and beef carpaccio with arugula, capers, and shaved parmesan.

Okra and green beans from the garden, chicken meatballs and corn. I did the okra in the air fryer, and it's Good Enough. Nothing beats deep frying sadly
7 -
Bison burger with Vermont cheddar on a flax bun
