    Yes! They do work. As a writer of murder mysteries, I get a kick out of reading the label—a litany of highly toxic ingredients, but in minuscule amounts. I wonder how many bottles it would take….nevermind! 😇

    @deepwoodslady, Donna, I took 1 magnesium capsule last night. No cramping, but I did not sleep as deeply as with two. I'll continue on three more days taking 1 capsule. I'll let you know what happened during my 4 day experiment on Wednesday.

    Very happy to see that I have truly recovered from that week or two of illness, not tracking, not exercising and some bad snacking. I'm still working out how the body fat percentage works - bf is up but weight is down? But I guess an overall average decrease is what you want. Something else I am taking note of is the effects of the type of exercise I do. The last 3 days I did 1 cardio and 2 metcon (metabolic conditioning) and they're only short workouts but fairly intensense and full body, combining strength and cardio. I'm wondering if the internet is correct in saying metcon is really effective for for weight loss 🤔

    65 yr young F, 5ft 4 Round 228 (my 159th). Thank you @quiltingjaine for the new round.
    Goal this round is yet again the same as last; to get back under and stay under 139. Holiday to Menorca is in 72 days, if I don’t crack on I’ll be needing to purchase a bigger size in holiday clothes and I do not want to do that. So, 72 days, 7 rounds at a pound per round should easily get me to where I want to be, only I can do it, I’ve done it before so I can do it again if I knuckle down otherwise before I know it I be up in the 150’s. Cuz that’s how weight just keeps creeping up on one !!! Really try to stay on track. After all I am what I eat in more ways than one, my whole demeanour is totally different when I am happy with myself!!
    Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

    7/1 139.2 – 5.8 miles walked, calories 247, carbs 50g & fat 17g over. We travelled down to St. Neots in Cambridgeshire for a 5 day break (brought scales with me !!) had cheese & crackers for lunch, with small glass port – mmmm. But restricted portion.
    7/2 138.8 – 14.73 miles walked, 1 third of exercise calories eaten back.
    7/3 139 – 7.38 miles walked. We were at an airshow at Shuttleworth, so the miles were done in 5 short walks; the woodland walk, round the gardens, up to the house & then back and also an evening walk back at the campsite after tea. All exercise calories eaten back.
    7/4 139 – 9.85 miles walked mostly around the ground of Wrest Park, beautiful English Heritage property. 80% exercise calories eaten back.
    7/5 140.4 – that’s what pizza does! 10.13 miles walked, all calories eaten back.

    7/9 DNW- will be home tomorrow for final day weigh in.4.81 meandering miles clocked up whilst viewing all the exhibits at the show, was so tired at the end of the day; slow walking and standing tired me out more than a shorter period at fast pace!! 172 calories over.

    7/5 - 190.4 - average day, it got a little hot in the afternoon and the smoke was really bad again from the fires. I finished tracking my food this morning. I was over for my calorie count. My water was little low, still need to work on that. 8,752 steps (44,521 left), 4 floors (58 left), 81 Zone Minutes (243 left). Farley and I didn't get out for our walk due to the air quality. I did a new strength training workout. Found it on YouTube Senior Fitness Seated Dumbbell Workout For Beginners | 20 Min, it is part of a workout series Senior Fitness with Meredith. I think that I am going to continue to use this one.
    7/6 - 189.8, not the best day. Started out really good, but then the pull of my chair and cheese pleasures got to me. Thinking that maybe I should throw out my chair or at least make it so that I can't just sit easily. I tracked my food this morning, which is better then not tracking but I need to get in the habit of tracking as the day goes. I was just under for my calorie count, barely and in truth because I didn’t track as I ate I probably under represented what I ate. My water intake is still very low, need to work on that. 5,961 steps (38,560 left), 2 Floors (56 left), 36 Zone Minutes (207 left). Farley and I did not get out for a walk last night it was simply too hot for him. I think that I am going to have to start taking him in the morning.
    7/7 - 190.0 - Did the second day of my weight workout, again at 2lbs. Thinking that on Sunday when I do it again I will increase my weight to 5lbs. Had a visit from a friend and helped him out with some computer stuff. I didn’t take any time to sit around in my chair until after dinner. My step count was horrible. I did nothing almost all day and man does it show. 3,561 Steps (34,999 left), 1 Floor (55left), 5 Zone Minutes (202 left). Farley and I did not get out for a walk again.

    Happy 🍁 Canada 🇨🇦 Day to the Canadians on here. Although I was born in the States, I am proud to be Canadian by parentage, and all my sibs were born in Alberta. I can’t believe it’s July already. The year’s half gone! July is “eye month” for me, with cataract surgeries this Monday & the next one, and then a string of follow up appointments. Not my idea of summer fun, but everyone assures me I’ll be glad I did it. I’m trying not to think much about it! Nervous. But I don’t seem to be channeling that into food, so there’s that. Now to keep it that way!

    Yep. I ate a lot yesterday, including two pieces of cake. Yikes! I some of this is obviously water — can’t gain half a pound of fat in one day. I feel like that got the urge out of my system and today will be more controlled, although I’m quite nervous about tomorrow. Anyway, it’s love out right now, and our air quality is, for now, back to good. Have a happy Sunday!

    Monday, Monday…. First cataract surgery coming up this morning. I’m very nervous, but keep telling myself it will be over in 3 hours, other than waiting around for a post-surgery check up. Then I get to do it all again in a week. I know it’s pretty routine, and everyone tells me it’s a snap, but still…. Anyway, my calories should be lower today!

    Happy Fourth! My cataract surgery went well. My vision in that eye is like looking through thick gauze because of the meds they put in, but no other pain or discomfort. On our way home mid-afternoon DH wanted a Whopper & fries, so I got the same — was pretty hungry by then — which was my first such food in years! Then I had ice cream late evening. Not great, but my calories weren’t much over my goal, so other than a lot of salt I think it was ok. Back on track today. I don’t think I’ll be doing much until my vision clears, but it seems to be getting better every hour. Many thanks to those you sent well wishes!

    Yep, there’s my Whopper and fries from Monday, plus some salty junk food yesterday — chili cheese Fritos, Parmesan garlic pita chips, like that, plus barbecue ribs and potato salad. Recovery foods. 😁 Back on track today, menu all planned, including lots of water. My vision is clearing, but I still have blurry spots from the medication they put in my eye. Hopefully it will clear more today. Neighbors were shooting off LOUD fireworks (no sparklies, just noise — I don’t get it) until well after midnight, so I might need a nap. 😌 I hope all my American friends here had an enjoyable 4th.

    That’s a bit better. I knew yesterday I was full of water! My vision has mostly cleared, and although my glasses are not correcting optimally (which was expected), they’re not bad. Of course, I get to do this all again next week. 🤪 But I’m feeling strangely energized, and am going to make myself some schedules and set some goals beginning in August — I want to get back to serious writing, get Booker’s advanced trick titles by December, get him ready for his first obedience and scent work titles this fall, and get back to painting regularly. And walking! I guess I hadn’t realized how much having these surgeries hanging over me was weighing me down. I am confident that getting back to the activities that buoy my spirits, and to my real work (writing) will help me get seriously back on track weight wise. Oh, and when registration opens I’m signing up for an online fitness class aimed at getting dog-sport competitors in shape. It sounds great and gets rave reviews, so there’s that! Now to clean my office and rearrange so I can do things when I’m ready! Sorry a lot of this doesn’t sound weight/health related, but it is!

    Not much to report. I’ve had a string of very quiet day as my eye heals, which has let me do a lot of thinking. I’m feeling energized this morning to get some cleaning a garden work done before my next surgery on Monday and quiet stretch next week. Booker seems to be shedding his puppy coat — black hairs everywhere — so vacuuming is first up! And I can finally wash my hair — had to avoid water in my eye. Yay for that!     Ok, finally headed the right direction again. I’m going to try not to “junk food out” after Monday’s surgery like I did last week. 😊 We’re finally getting a lovely, soaking rain this morning, so I’m doing indoor stuff (laundry—whee!) and some trick & scent work training with Booker, who is 8 months old today! Other than his hooligan teenage spells, he’s turning into a lovely dog. Here he is to say hi.

    7/4 127.5 🇺🇸Happy Birthday USA🇺🇸I wish all of my fellow Americans a wonderful day. Okay with this slight uptick, OMAD was a beef chimichanga with my HS friend and my DH. That certainly would have been a better choice without the tortilla but they are made in house and SOOO good! I wasn’t hungry the rest of the day but should have had a lot more water. Between spending about 4 hours in the car and sitting about 6 hours at the racetrack in temperature over 105. . . I drank a lot of water when we got home after 11PM and went to bed. Community “picnic” this afternoon - hot dogs, hamburgers, sides I don’t eat. I will indulge in an adult beverage and perhaps dessert.
    7/5 128.5 Indulge I did. And we ate 3 hours later than I like. I woke with foot cramp and later calf cramp during the night.

    61 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).

    SW WW Sept 29, 2001 - 168.8 (initially lost 29.8, became staff, then weight up and down 18 years with low of 126.8)
    SW MFP Sept 14, 2020 – 153 (lost 40, then stress took off another 2.2 lb with low of 120.8, then stress became gain)
    SW current MFP Jan 1, 2023 – 146.6
    GW Maintaining between 124 - 126

    Continuing to figure out maintaining, and to work on best nutrition and exercise.

    History:
    Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have three parents, 88(father), 86(mother), 84(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse. A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

    Day/Weight/Comment

    7/1 (Mass) – 126.0 (Renpho 125.6) After two days of misbehaving, yesterday was going to be good. Day was tracking well. Dinner last night was us experimenting with cooking pizza on a pizza stone on the grill. Bought too much dough. Made too much pizza. Ate somewhat too much pizza. Felt like lead and was asleep before 8 PM. Today is leftover Pizza……

    7/2 (Mass) – 124.6 (Renpho 124.4) Pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But all tracked and now all gone. Total calories for the day were 1752. I keep keeping my target calories low (set at 1500 right now). I need to invest some effort in finding what a correct number is so I can aim for it instead of restricting and binging. I am staying between the 124 and 126 despite my behavior, so that is a minor “win”. Will keep working on finding what works for me in maintenance, and maybe restricting and overeating is ok as long as I monitor overall.

    Shoot. Opened the door to go walking……finally. Now it is raining. :’(

    7/3 (Mass) – 125.6 I cannot have those extra cookie ingredients around the house. Today technically should be easy, and the ingredients are gone and cookies are being delivered..

    7/7 (Maine) – 123.8 ((Renpho 124.2 - odd Renpho seems the logical one this AM) Yes, I am alive! Just a super distracting week. 7/3 – long day helping parents followed by other obligations 7/4 - 4th at my daughters and caretook my parents throughout 6/5 – crazy day catching up and then getting up to Maine 6/6 – no excuse but I do have to brag how well my diet was that day even with going out to eat at night exercise is nonexsistent, but hey that is easy to maintain. :P Today, tracking will be good. Going to get some exercise yet to be determined and going to run some errands. Oh, I will read through all the posts!!

    7/8 (Maine) – 123.6 (Renpho 123.8) Not sure the logic from the two scales. When different, Renpho is always the lower. All good, just interesting. Today I was actually expecting an up since I went out and ran/walked the 6 miles and had been so neglectful with my exercise yesterday. I thought I would have some muscle fluid retention. Appears I am wrong. I had fun during the running components and even decided to run backwards for short bits. I’m guessing people thought I was pretty weird. I thought it was a decent agility test as I did not fall over. :)

    7/9 (Maine) – 124.4 (Renpho 124.4) Yesterday seemed good, but there was something my scale obviously did not like.

    Got my exercise in before I managed to get my post up.
