Round 227: 159.0 lbs (-2.4)
My main goal this round is to not comfort eat. I need to find other ways of coping. I will try to exercise the adrenaline away to minimise the damage to my body from stress. I will also use my ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) skills to work through my anxiety.
Round 228 SW: 159.0 lbs (trend 160.0)
7/1: 158.5 lbs (trend 159.8)
7/2: 158.3 lbs (trend 159.6)
7/3: 158.1 lbs (trend 159.4)
My weight loss has been unusually consistent the last few days. In an attempt to not go off track at dinner, I have been trialling a larger snack late in the afternoon. It seems to be doing the trick and I am no longer eating more at dinner than planned.
7/4: 158.3 lbs (trend 159.2)
7/5: 157.9 lbs (trend 159.2)
Another stressful day but hopefully most of the cause of the stress will clear soon.
7/6: 157.4 lbs (trend 159.0)
7/7: 158.1 lbs (trend 158.7)
The kids made cheese cake so I decided to eat at maintenance rather than skip any meals. There are still leftovers so I am mulling whether to have another maintenance day because I want to make some Thai green curry as well.
7/8: 157.2 lbs (trend 158.5)
Managed to stay within my calorie limit despite the leftover cheese cake and green curry.
7/9: 156.5 lbs (trend 158.3)
Today marks losing 55 pounds (25kg) since August 2021. It seems like a long time but that includes around 6 months of maintenance breaks all up. Note the graph is in kilograms (I am a metric girl at heart).

If I quit now, I will soon be back to where I started. And when I started, I so desperately wanted to be where I am now.
07/03 - 170.2 - Groundhog Day, again - woke up to a day like many others where I have to lose the same pounds again! Fun! I could have sworn this time was it! Readjusted my charts, but I refuse to add color back to 170, LOL, No way! I will at least be done with the 170s again very soon!
07/04 - 169.4 -
07/05 - 169.0 - I feel like I have my head screwed on right this morning finally after going off track. Three good days - except water - got to do better with the water!
07/06 - 169.0
07/07 - 168.8
07/08 - 168.6
07/09 - 167.2 - Catching up after a multiple days tracking on paper but not posting.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

65 yr young F, 5ft 4 Round 228 (my 159th). Thank you @quiltingjaine for the new round.
Goal this round is yet again the same as last; to get back under and stay under 139. Holiday to Menorca is in 72 days, if I don’t crack on I’ll be needing to purchase a bigger size in holiday clothes and I do not want to do that. So, 72 days, 7 rounds at a pound per round should easily get me to where I want to be, only I can do it, I’ve done it before so I can do it again if I knuckle down otherwise before I know it I be up in the 150’s. Cuz that’s how weight just keeps creeping up on one !!! Really try to stay on track. After all I am what I eat in more ways than one, my whole demeanour is totally different when I am happy with myself!!Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

SW RND 228 139.2
7/1 139.2 – 5.8 miles walked, calories 247, carbs 50g & fat 17g over. We travelled down to St. Neots in Cambridgeshire for a 5 day break (brought scales with me !!) had cheese & crackers for lunch, with small glass port – mmmm. But restricted portion.
7/2 138.8 – 14.73 miles walked, 1 third of exercise calories eaten back.
7/3 139 – 7.38 miles walked. We were at an airshow at Shuttleworth, so the miles were done in 5 short walks; the woodland walk, round the gardens, up to the house & then back and also an evening walk back at the campsite after tea. All exercise calories eaten back.
7/4 139 – 9.85 miles walked mostly around the ground of Wrest Park, beautiful English Heritage property. 80% exercise calories eaten back.
7/5 140.4 – that’s what pizza does! 10.13 miles walked, all calories eaten back.
7/6 140.4 – 11.68 miles walked, 40% exercise calories eaten back.
7/7 140.4 – no structured walking, childminding little DGS, all exercise calories eaten back.
7/8 DNW - came away in the caravan for the weekend to a steam rally, forgot to put the scales in! But, 10.24 miles walked yesterday and only 15% exercise calories eaten back. Determined to stay strong today, all that cider will be calling me, only had half a can last night and a taste is enough!
7/9 DNW- will be home tomorrow for final day weigh in.4.81 meandering miles clocked up whilst viewing all the exhibits at the show, was so tired at the end of the day; slow walking and standing tired me out more than a shorter period at fast pace!! 172 calories over.
7/10 139.6 – 4.33 miles walked, managed to get 50 mins of fast paced walking in, ¾ exercise calories eaten back. 0.2 pound down from end of last round, better than nothing!!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Round 228
SW: 125
RGW: 123
Plan: Log daily( no lying or cheating!!!). Exercise daily, including beginning weights again and PT exercises, also working on deep squat- goal 10 minutes a day.
Day, Weight, Comment
7/01 #125.2 -Starting up from yesterday, but may have not been truthful counting calories yesterday either- so I need to not lie to myself, this should be added as a goal. Injured myself playing pickleball ( my favorite activity) in May. Going to try playing for a short time this morning, scared and excited. Think I will come home afterwards and do my PT exercises and cardio, once I see how it goes.
7/02 #124.8-Wow, I did not realize that using the food scale is a practice and art easily forgotten. Struggled yesterday, since I cook so much, adding recipes, then dividing, since not sure what the servings were going to be since I was making it up. I am sure it will get easier as I go, notorious taste tester, need to handle that. God looking out for me, only was able to hit pickleball for 5-10 minutes, huge storm rolled in, bummer looks like rain all today. Looks like stationary bike and housework. 4 minutes deep squat yesterday.
7/03 #124.4, I know slowly and surely are best but it sure is nice when you have focused all day on weighing, not snacking and making good food choices to have a little more drop- But I could also fo other way so much more frustrating- So Eeks, I am happy and maybe not filled with joy but a little joy I moving in right direction. Lots of squatting yesterday, over 7 minutes and 4 minutes at one time. Forgot to weigh my fish before i put in airfryer. But better job weighing yesterday. Soon to be ex husband took the elliptical left me with the spin bike. Not able to play Pickleball because of weather so had to bike.
7/04 #125- Eeks, I know it is probably water retention but mentally I struggle going backwards when I put so much effort yesterday. I did actually get to play pickleball since be sidelined since May 7, when I got hurt. I was scared and overthought every shop but actually went very well, AC joint sore in afternoon and last night. Debating going right now, So nice to be outside, socializing and running around, might make me forget I gained weight. Did 10 minutes yesterday of resting squats, not at once but got 4 minutes at one time.
7/05 #124.4 Really seem to be resistant change. Did do a redo of guided set up, now that I have gone back to work definitely not as active, bummer recommends 200 calories less. Sore from pickleball, was only able to play for an hour or so yesterday, but did my weights and PT exercises. 10 minutes of resting squats- did 4 minutes again. Experimented with protein powder cookies - surprisingly good. Going to try to reduce my alcohol.
7/06 #124.2- I am telling myself slow is good, losing weight slowly means I actually losing fat and not just water fluctuations...Putting great effort into weighing my food, created this medley for lunch: TJ cauliflower gnocchi, chicken sausage, asparagus, and colorful tomato medley, fried it up, and then poured in separate bowl to measure, so I can divide into 3 servings. I have been working on my just dirty the dish complex, one more dish to clean is not a big deal- My wonderful mother was the most fabulous cook, but she was messy, dirty so many dishes every night. I was the awful daughter who did the dishes and just complained... She has had several strokes the last year and can no longer talk and only can eat soft foods, my heart breaks for her quality of life. But I am rejoicing in the lessons she taught me, so just dirty the dish and measure! A thank you to God for my mother! - on a different note, did a 5 minute resting squat, 10 minutes total. 1 hour pickleball, physically sore, but mentally sorer- frustrated in 2 months could lose so much of my game, sure it will calm back but with working so hard need to accept will not reach that level of play again.
7/07 123.6
7/08125.4
7/09 126
7/10 125.8 Bummer ending worst hen start but feel so much more on track and may have have some bloating- So extremely busy last several days. Visiting here, a luxury, was not time I could afford. Looking forward tooth's week being more on track - Had a wonderful visit with my son this weekend my son to be ex came over - wouldn't leave, but handled some sticky details. Hope to do better next round4 -

Happy 🍁 Canada 🇨🇦 Day to the Canadians on here. Although I was born in the States, I am proud to be Canadian by parentage, and all my sibs were born in Alberta. I can’t believe it’s July already. The year’s half gone! July is “eye month” for me, with cataract surgeries this Monday & the next one, and then a string of follow up appointments. Not my idea of summer fun, but everyone assures me I’ll be glad I did it. I’m trying not to think much about it! Nervous. But I don’t seem to be channeling that into food, so there’s that. Now to keep it that way!
7/02 - 183.2
Yep. I ate a lot yesterday, including two pieces of cake. Yikes! I some of this is obviously water — can’t gain half a pound of fat in one day. I feel like that got the urge out of my system and today will be more controlled, although I’m quite nervous about tomorrow. Anyway, it’s love out right now, and our air quality is, for now, back to good. Have a happy Sunday!
7/03 - 183.2
Monday, Monday…. First cataract surgery coming up this morning. I’m very nervous, but keep telling myself it will be over in 3 hours, other than waiting around for a post-surgery check up. Then I get to do it all again in a week. I know it’s pretty routine, and everyone tells me it’s a snap, but still…. Anyway, my calories should be lower today!
7/04 - 183.6
Happy Fourth! My cataract surgery went well. My vision in that eye is like looking through thick gauze because of the meds they put in, but no other pain or discomfort. On our way home mid-afternoon DH wanted a Whopper & fries, so I got the same — was pretty hungry by then — which was my first such food in years! Then I had ice cream late evening. Not great, but my calories weren’t much over my goal, so other than a lot of salt I think it was ok. Back on track today. I don’t think I’ll be doing much until my vision clears, but it seems to be getting better every hour. Many thanks to those you sent well wishes!
7/05 - 185.2
Yep, there’s my Whopper and fries from Monday, plus some salty junk food yesterday — chili cheese Fritos, Parmesan garlic pita chips, like that, plus barbecue ribs and potato salad. Recovery foods. 😁 Back on track today, menu all planned, including lots of water. My vision is clearing, but I still have blurry spots from the medication they put in my eye. Hopefully it will clear more today. Neighbors were shooting off LOUD fireworks (no sparklies, just noise — I don’t get it) until well after midnight, so I might need a nap. 😌 I hope all my American friends here had an enjoyable 4th.
7/06 - 183.8
That’s a bit better. I knew yesterday I was full of water! My vision has mostly cleared, and although my glasses are not correcting optimally (which was expected), they’re not bad. Of course, I get to do this all again next week. 🤪 But I’m feeling strangely energized, and am going to make myself some schedules and set some goals beginning in August — I want to get back to serious writing, get Booker’s advanced trick titles by December, get him ready for his first obedience and scent work titles this fall, and get back to painting regularly. And walking! I guess I hadn’t realized how much having these surgeries hanging over me was weighing me down. I am confident that getting back to the activities that buoy my spirits, and to my real work (writing) will help me get seriously back on track weight wise. Oh, and when registration opens I’m signing up for an online fitness class aimed at getting dog-sport competitors in shape. It sounds great and gets rave reviews, so there’s that! Now to clean my office and rearrange so I can do things when I’m ready! Sorry a lot of this doesn’t sound weight/health related, but it is!
7/07 - 184
Not much to report. I’ve had a string of very quiet day as my eye heals, which has let me do a lot of thinking. I’m feeling energized this morning to get some cleaning a garden work done before my next surgery on Monday and quiet stretch next week. Booker seems to be shedding his puppy coat — black hairs everywhere — so vacuuming is first up! And I can finally wash my hair — had to avoid water in my eye. Yay for that! Sometimes it’s the little big things! 😊 Here are some flowers for you all. Happy Friday!
7/08 - 183.4
Ok, finally headed the right direction again. I’m going to try not to “junk food out” after Monday’s surgery like I did last week. 😊 We’re finally getting a lovely, soaking rain this morning, so I’m doing indoor stuff (laundry—whee!) and some trick & scent work training with Booker, who is 8 months old today! Other than his hooligan teenage spells, he’s turning into a lovely dog. Here he is to say hi.
7/09 - 184
Boing. Oh well. I’m not to fussy about the next few days, especially tomorrow and Tues with surgery, follow up visit, and fuzzy vision. Hopefully by the following week I can get back to more activity and more responsible eating. All good.
7/10 - 184
Ok, I sort of expected that, and probably will have about the same next round. Second cataract surgery today. Not excited, but not as nervous as I was about the first.

Continuing to figure out maintaining, and to work on best nutrition and exercise.
History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have three parents, 88(father), 86(mother), 84(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse. A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

Day/Weight/Comment
7/1 (Mass) – 126.0 (Renpho 125.6) After two days of misbehaving, yesterday was going to be good. Day was tracking well. Dinner last night was us experimenting with cooking pizza on a pizza stone on the grill. Bought too much dough. Made too much pizza. Ate somewhat too much pizza. Felt like lead and was asleep before 8 PM. Today is leftover Pizza……
7/2 (Mass) – 124.6 (Renpho 124.4) Pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But all tracked and now all gone. Total calories for the day were 1752. I keep keeping my target calories low (set at 1500 right now). I need to invest some effort in finding what a correct number is so I can aim for it instead of restricting and binging. I am staying between the 124 and 126 despite my behavior, so that is a minor “win”. Will keep working on finding what works for me in maintenance, and maybe restricting and overeating is ok as long as I monitor overall.
Shoot. Opened the door to go walking……finally. Now it is raining. :’(
7/3 (Mass) – 125.6 I cannot have those extra cookie ingredients around the house. Today technically should be easy, and the ingredients are gone and cookies are being delivered..
7/4 (Mass) – 125.2
7/5 (Mass) – 125.2 (Renpho 124.8)
7/6 Maine) – 124.8 (Renpho 124.4)
7/7 (Maine) – 123.8 ((Renpho 124.2 - odd Renpho seems the logical one this AM) Yes, I am alive! Just a super distracting week. 7/3 – long day helping parents followed by other obligations 7/4 - 4th at my daughters and caretook my parents throughout 6/5 – crazy day catching up and then getting up to Maine 6/6 – no excuse but I do have to brag how well my diet was that day even with going out to eat at night exercise is nonexsistent, but hey that is easy to maintain. :P Today, tracking will be good. Going to get some exercise yet to be determined and going to run some errands. Oh, I will read through all the posts!!
7/8 (Maine) – 123.6 (Renpho 123.8) Not sure the logic from the two scales. When different, Renpho is always the lower. All good, just interesting. Today I was actually expecting an up since I went out and ran/walked the 6 miles and had been so neglectful with my exercise yesterday. I thought I would have some muscle fluid retention. Appears I am wrong. I had fun during the running components and even decided to run backwards for short bits. I’m guessing people thought I was pretty weird. I thought it was a decent agility test as I did not fall over.
7/9 (Maine) – 124.4 (Renpho 124.4) Yesterday seemed good, but there was something my scale obviously did not like.
Got my exercise in before I managed to get my post up.
7/10 (Maine) – 124.8 (Renpho 124.4) Amazing given my evening behavior yesterday. Today will be too busy to eat off track. And when I get home, there are no sources of chocolate left in the condo.

7/10 - 152.5 - Boohiss, I didn't make goal. After this weekend (and pasta last night) I'm really rather happy it's not higher. I'll take this and move on with it. No plans for lunches this week. I dod have my workout schedule planned (I did my kettlebell strength and walked the dogs already this morning). Tomorrow I'll do hill sprints as cardio and maybe take the dogs on a bit shorter of a walk. I'm emotional lately (since Saturday, really) and having a rough time of it, so I'm mainly going to focus on NOT eating my feelings and getting in some good stress-relieving workouts. Hopefully it'll pass and take some of this fat with it!
Previous Day's Comments7/01 - Sodium blip. BF wanted out of the house (don't blame him) so we went and got Japanese at a new place. This one was definitely more mom-and-pop shop, homemade versus the other place which has more of a chain restaurant vibe. I did really well with pushing my plate to be taken away after piling my trash on it once I was full, a HUGE NSV. I'd normally feel obligated to pick at it while others ate and try to finish it to get my "money's worth". I didn't leave hungry, my taste buds were satisfied (even happy as I was craving sesame chicken), and I didn't feel sick from overeating. That was my money's worth despite there being more food on the plate. Not sure plan today other than SD has a "volunteer" job (they get paid but it's just to help increase staffing for a one-day event) from 1-9. Then that place puts on fireworks from 9-9:30 so we're hanging out at the fire station (upon request) in case of need (so dry with these record temperatures). LittleBro will come with us and SD will meet us there (it's maaaaaybe 1/4mile walk from the place she's working) to watch the fireworks together. Once I post and catch up reading, I'll stretch my poor sore hamstrings out while I read as everyone is still asleep.
7/02 - Scale blipped down to 151 range before settling higher. I do feel a tad puffy from the garlic salt at dinner, but not as bad as before. I'm also still very sore in the hamstrings despite setting aside time to stretch yesterday. I will do so again today. We had a freak storm form over us last night bringing much needed rain. My intended morning walk with the pups was also canceled due to continuing rain this morning. Oh well. Tomorrow is a scheduled walk, weather-permitting, and my kettlebell workout. Likely another lazy day today, especially with all the rain. If so, I'll keep reading like I did yesterday. It's nice to read my own books during the day and then my Book Club book (for that month) before bed.
7/03 - There we go. I'm still holding on to water weight - we went mini-golfing and to TopGolf. First mini-golf was outside and no food/drinks on the course (which at 100 degrees in the sun is not at all smart...but that's just me). Had lunch and then a round of indoor mini-golf (a bottle of water cost $7 so.... yeah, didn't happen). Finally we went to TopGolf which I drink 2 large glasses of water. I didn't want to make myself sick, though. Also, though all this, I managed to be 1,300 steps shy of 10k. How?! So much walking. Ended up skipping dinner as lunch was at 2pm and very heavy. None of us were hungry by dinnertime. Today I took the dogs for a walk and completed my NF Journey kettlebell workout. Tomorrow is a day off, but I'm supposed to run. I'll see how I feel, soreness-wise and sleepy-wise, in the morning. Making veggie chickpea curry for lunches this week for myself. SD said she'd try it, too.
7/04 - Happy 4th to all my fellow American friends! Little fluctuation, not worried about it at all. I did enjoy a small bowl of ice cream and took my lactose pills immediately after. It satisfied the craving and fit into my calorie goal perfectly so the slight bloat isn't a concern. Today I slept in until 630 and still managed a run. It wasn't a long one, but I only said "a run" not a time or distance so I've managed to check the box. I'm trying not to put a hard and fast rule to it otherwise I'll lose all desire to even continue running until I have no choice but to train for the other 5k I've signed up for in November. Anyway, I'm hoping everyone wakes up in time for me to run through the shower quickly before we have to leave for the parade and other events going on today. It's a very social day and I'm not sure I'm ready for it mentally. Oh well. I feel stronger about my food and movement choices now that I've done my run so hopefully that mental strength will also bleed through into my people-ing ability. I have a general plan today (I vaguely know the lunch offerings and the event this evening is likely to be the same ol' American-fare for the holiday so not terribly hard to guess) and hopefully plenty of opportunity to get my steps in.
7/05 - I woke up and chugged water a couple different times through the night so I decided to forego weighing. I feel like it'd be a false high from all that water. I'll see the damage done from yesterday tomorrow anyway. I did do pretty good overall, especially in the food department, but there was beer involved. I don't even like drinking beer when it is that hot, but we all ended up buying each other a round which added up through the day. I got all my steps and such in, though, and met my calorie goal despite all the liquid calories. By the time fireworks happened and we got home, it was 2 hours past my bedtime so I decided to put off my workouts. I'll try to take the dogs for a walk after dinner tonight to make up for it. It's supposed to storm between 5-6 so maybe it'll cool things down and I can walk them around 7? We shall see. I have 3 rounds in my kettlebell workout circuit with 3 exercises each so I'll divide those up through the day. I'll knock the first one out after I post. Likely one around lunch and one in the afternoon (after lunch slump?). Just because I slept in doesn't give me a free pass to miss out on my workout. Not when it is typically done next to my work desk anyway haha!
7/06 - Not as bad as I expected. I still feel puffy and bloated since it is not unusual for it to take 48 hours for my body to release water after I've re-hydrated. Over 100 ounces yesterday, whoot! Calories were on the high side, though, so that isn't helping. Ended up taking the dogs for a walk after dinner. I did 2 of the 3 rounds of my kettlebell workout as I forgot to do the last round after my walk. Ran a little over a mile today with both dogs. It's such a pain but they start to whine and bark which wakes everyone up if I go without them. Unsure today as it's Thirsty Thursday but we aren't going to our normal bar&grill as it's gone downhill horribly. I have plenty of my chickpea and veggie curry so I'll eat that regardless of plans for the day so I get my veggies in and fill myself up on something healthy. Simply hoping I can stay on track and see this bloat drop off in the next day or two.
7/07- Went to Fam's and had wings which always make me puffy but that was somewhat offset by water weight dropping off due to being so diligent about re-hydrating after Tuesday. My belly, especially, is puffy and looking very large in comparison. I'm also having a bit of tummy issues but I think it has more to do with dairy (homemade blue cheese dressing) and it's causing things to look worse than it really is. I hope so, at least. I was also over calories but I made sure I listened to my body and I was truly hungry. Anyway, I walked the dogs this morning. I still have my kettlebell workout to knock out real quick once I post this. Have the rest of chickpea and veg curry to eat up as I put 2 containers in the freezer for later weeks for lunch and completely unsure dinner. Lots of water, as well. Hoping I can see progress over this weekend as I have the final weigh in here AND a weigh in for Nerd Fitness on Monday. Oof. Talking about going to the river Saturday so hopefully I can get some good movement in and I'll be distracted from eating too much junk. EDIT: Kettlebell workout is complete.
7/08 - What? I expected to be up today for sure. I was over calories as I had some rocky road ice cream since we finally found it (it's BF and I's favorite). I didn't get 10k steps, either, which I realized when I woke up just before midnight. Oops. Swimming today so posting from my phone (hopefully I do this right). Doing everything I can to maintain this loss today.
7/09 - The dog was whining and when I went into the bathroom to grab my hoodie he really started whining so I didn't bother taking the time to weigh. By the time BF gets up, I'll have drank too much water. I can tell I'm dehydrated by the headache I have so I'm okay with it anyway hahaha I did drink nearly 90oz water but with the sun beating down it wasn't enough. Today is a lazy day so I'll be really focusing on water intake and gentle moving. Will aim for 10k steps again today, but I'm not aiming for a specific workout or anything. Behaving extra well today in hopes I can meet my goal of 151.x5 -

7/3 127.0 Supposed to meet high school friend for lunch but I’m sending DH to Urgent Care since he’s still congested and coughing.
7/4 127.5 🇺🇸Happy Birthday USA🇺🇸I wish all of my fellow Americans a wonderful day. Okay with this slight uptick, OMAD was a beef chimichanga with my HS friend and my DH. That certainly would have been a better choice without the tortilla but they are made in house and SOOO good! I wasn’t hungry the rest of the day but should have had a lot more water. Between spending about 4 hours in the car and sitting about 6 hours at the racetrack in temperature over 105. . . I drank a lot of water when we got home after 11PM and went to bed. Community “picnic” this afternoon - hot dogs, hamburgers, sides I don’t eat. I will indulge in an adult beverage and perhaps dessert.
7/5 128.5 Indulge I did. And we ate 3 hours later than I like. I woke with foot cramp and later calf cramp during the night.

7/7 127.5 OMAD was beef brisket. I order 1#, eat what I want and bring home the “planned overs.” I was going to have some vegetables when we got home but wasn’t hungry.
7/8 127.5 Getting together with my gal pals this afternoon - first time in a long time.
7/9 128.0
7/10 128.5 Average down a pound. At his time tomorrow we’ll be headed to the airport for DH’s family reunion in southern Illinois. There will be lots of “not great for me” food choices including Mexican restaurant and pizza.6 -

7/10-163-Glad to end here. Drove an extra 15 min. to another town to try their Costco and it was wonderfully quiet and worth the drive. Am getting caught up on quilt backs for the tops that are donated. Rode the horse and his attitude was great after his break while I was busy the last few days. It’s going to be getting hot in the next week.6 -

Final goal: 145-155. We’ll see how I look & feel when I get there.
Exercise: Move 30 minutes per day rotating activity.
Mini challenge: My monthly goal is always about 5 pounds per month. HOWEVER, I never seem to make that. So, Between Independence Day Holiday (July 4th) and Labor Day Holiday (Sept 4th) I will weigh somewhere, ANYWHERE in the 180’s. I don’t care if it’s on the brim. I’ve got to start getting further away from the 200’s again! Starting Weight on 7/4 is 195.4.

07/08 -195.8- (Trend weight 196.7)
07/09 -195.6- (Trend weight 196.6) I’m a little disappointed today. I thought it would be lower. However, I skipped any structured exercise yesterday although I did some strength training. Diet was on point. I’ve been bouncing around these same numbers since just prior to the 4th. I may zig-zag this week and see what happens.
07/10 -194.4- (Trend weight 196.4) Whoop, there it is! Was looking for it yesterday but it was nowhere to be found! Today is travel. That is always dangerous with the diet and activity and I wish it was on a different day since I’ve hit a weight that I haven’t been at (or maintained more than 24 hours) since late May. Ugh. Today I need to focus on BOTH choices and portion control. My mini-goal is to make it back into the 180’s by the end of summer (Labor Day). I did not succeed in my last mini-challenge. I’d like to make this goal. I really want to show my endocrinologist that I can control my blood sugars without insulin. In the 180’s my glucose levels and A1C will be much improved. In the low 170’s or high 160’s I’ll probably go into remission and not need treatment at all (no more diabetes!) I really have a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow. I just need to reach for the stars. I’m down 3.8 lbs this round. That is remarkable for me. Gotta keep going! Great Job everyone this round! I rejoice with you in all your diet and fitness accomplishments. See you tomorrow in Round 229.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

07/10 - 166.2 - Lots of water yesterday, finally! I'm trying to not obsessively track my food again. I am writing down what I eat, just not the exact measurement and calories, as long as I'm eating healthy. I mean, I've measured and counted calories, forever, so we can really do it in our sleep, right? My OCD-self freaked out at first, but now I'm getting more relaxed about it. It's my way of trying to live my life while Iosing weight, rather than living each day to lose weight (sort of the eat-to-live, not live-to-eat mentality). I have no idea if any of that makes sense, but it's working for now. We shall see. Every day I can adjust what I do - nothing is written in stone (that's a reminder to myself!)
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Day/Weight/Comment
7/1: 134.0 - Well, not a great way to start a round, but hopefully can only go down from here.
7/2: 133.8 - I just love (not) how my weight will take these 1 pound jumps up over night but then sloooooooowly work its way down.
7/3: 133.2 - Last night’s binge has not yet shown up on the scale, but it will soon.
7/4: 133.2 - Hmm…I thought I did pretty well yesterday. Holding steady.
7/5: 133.4 - Too many sweet treats yesterday
7/6: 134.5 - I had a great day yesterday with a good workout, good sleep and not eating back my exercise calories. The scale is finally catching up with my past sins.
7/7: 132.9 - And back to where I started this round. 2 days in a row of good workouts and not eating back my exercise calories.
7/8: 132.9 - Holding steady despite not eating back exercise calories.
7/9: 132.5 - 3 days in a row of not eating back my exercise calories. Sleep was so-so.
7/10: 132.5 - Happy to end where I did. I did NOT continue my streak of not eating back my exercise calories yesterday, but am excited to start a new streak for the next round.

6/29 DNW Holiday
6/30 DNW Holiday

7/1 142.8 (trend 142.7) Ok, back to normal today. 2lbs up from the day I left for my holiday, not that bad! We got back at 3am last night and managed to resist stopping for food at the services on the motorway. I'm glad it's the first of the month and the start of a new round, else I might have been tempted to put off getting back to tracking until after the weekend. We had a bit of a disaster on the way to the airport. OH had strained his back putting the bikes in the shed so I'd had to do all the heavy lifting putting things in the car etc. When we stopped to refuel the hire car, I had to do it, which isn't something I've done in Portugal before. I got all flustered trying to prepay for the fuel with my limited Portuguese and ended up putting diesel in the petrol car! 5 minutes later we had broken down on the highway and had to call for recovery. Luckily our flight was delayed or we would have missed it, but I'm dreading finding out how much it's going to all cost us and am feeling very cross at myself about it all. OH has been quite chilled about it so far, but let's see when the bill comes in.
STEPS 5,343
7/2 140.8 (trend 142.4) I didn't do great yesterday so I'm very surprised to have this big drop today. Spent most of the day lazing on the sofa and had far too much of the apple and strawberry crumble that my daughter had made. Time to pull my socks up and get active.
STEPS 2,795 AF
7/3 140.2 (trend 142.1) Yesterday was almost an exact replica of the day before, ate the wrong stuff and didn't get any exercise... self sabotage? anxiety? On the plus side another drop and my lowest weight since restarting in January. I'm beginning to suspect this is muscle loss not fat loss though.
STEPS 1,844 ! AF
7/4 141.0 (trend 142.0) I'm not surprised to be back up today as I ate a lot of bread yesterday, no self control. I got myself out for a walk but the heavens opened and I got drenched so had to cut the walk short. I feel like I'm self sabotaging and I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm afraid of hitting my first goal of 140lbs as then I have to step into the unchartered territory of the 130s. I'm also feeling quite down on myself for the mistake with the hire car, we still don't know what the bill is going to be or how difficult it will be to claim on the insurance and as I'm not working I have no way to contribute so am feeling guilty about it. So maybe I'm punishing myself? My anxiety is raging at the moment, I have guests coming to stay this weekend and am not feeling prepared for it but am procrastinating. Urgh.
STEPS 11,419 AF
7/5 139.8 (trend 141.7) Another undeserved loss, and quite funny to be in the 130s after mentioning it yesterday. Didn't manage to get in a walk as it was raining again. I really need to get a raincoat, but I have a good one that is slightly too small so I'm reluctant to spend money on a new one as it should hopefully fit me by the autumn. I went to the gym for the first time in nearly 3 weeks, it was tough but I'm glad I got it out of the way. Then I had an appointment for a procedure at the beauty therapists and after that I succumbed to the laziness/anxiety/procrastination again. Binge watching Schitts Creek and eating junk. Not planning to get out today, I need to knuckle down and get the house sorted out.

7/10: 157.2 (trend 158.1)
A 1.8 lb loss for me this round. Gee these rounds seem to go quickly. See you all next round.4 -
@SheilaBoneham hope second surgery went well. You can only look forward now it is all complete xx1

7/10 - 190.8 Day started out great. Had a doctors appointment. Going back on my anti-depressants for a while. Did some work then came home and went to bed. Just simply not feeling well at all. Hubby and youngest all felt the same way. 5,393 Steps (11,262 left), 2 Floors (49 left), 11 Zone Minutes (74left) I am going to have to work at my goals another week.
End of round Recap
1. I tracked my food all 3 out of 10 days
2. Strength training - did 4 days goal was 3 !!!!
3. Steps 80,000 - got 68,738 so under my goal
4. Floors 80 - 31 done way under my goal
5. Zone Minutes 450, 326 - again under my goal
6. Water: 82oz daily - never hit this at all - thinking ths is a dream goal not a real goal.
Things I learned this round.
I can do this, tracking like this dailt really helps me see where I am going. I need to make better minigoals for the next round.
Previous Day's Comments7/1 - 189.6 - tracked food, Strength training - rest day, 8,488 steps (71,512 left), 9 Floors done ( 71 left), 59 Zone Minutes ( 391 left). 56oz water, under goal. Over all it was a good day. Got out for a 45 minute walk/run with Fraley.
7/2 - 189.4 - bad day. Didn't track, didn't wear Fitbit most of the day 1,894 steps (69,618 left) 1 Floor (70 left), 5 Zone Minutes (386 left). Water not tracked. Smoke and bad air quality was back.. Spent the day baking donuts and watching TV, not great.
7/3 - 190.4- good day, didn’t track my food that well . Strength training completed, 6,902 steps (62,716 left), 5 Floors (65 left), 31 Zone Minutes (355 left).
7/4 - 191.6 - overall good day. Didn’t track food or water I really need to get this on lock. Rest day from strength training, muscles are sore from the other day. 9,443 steps (53,273 left), 3 floors ( 62 left), 31 Zone minutes (324 left). I listened to 2 episodes of the coaches cup podcast. Took Farley for a walk last evening, we didn’t go as far the other day but we got out and he had fun
7/5 - 190.4 - average day, it got a little hot in the afternoon and the smoke was really bad again from the fires. I finished tracking my food this morning. I was over for my calorie count. My water was little low, still need to work on that. 8,752 steps (44,521 left), 4 floors (58 left), 81 Zone Minutes (243 left). Farley and I didn't get out for our walk due to the air quality. I did a new strength training workout. Found it on YouTube Senior Fitness Seated Dumbbell Workout For Beginners | 20 Min, it is part of a workout series Senior Fitness with Meredith. I think that I am going to continue to use this one.
7/6 - 189.8, not the best day. Started out really good, but then the pull of my chair and cheese pleasures got to me. Thinking that maybe I should throw out my chair or at least make it so that I can't just sit easily. I tracked my food this morning, which is better then not tracking but I need to get in the habit of tracking as the day goes. I was just under for my calorie count, barely and in truth because I didn’t track as I ate I probably under represented what I ate. My water intake is still very low, need to work on that. 5,961 steps (38,560 left), 2 Floors (56 left), 36 Zone Minutes (207 left). Farley and I did not get out for a walk last night it was simply too hot for him. I think that I am going to have to start taking him in the morning.
7/7 - 190.0 - Did the second day of my weight workout, again at 2lbs. Thinking that on Sunday when I do it again I will increase my weight to 5lbs. Had a visit from a friend and helped him out with some computer stuff. I didn’t take any time to sit around in my chair until after dinner. My step count was horrible. I did nothing almost all day and man does it show. 3,561 Steps (34,999 left), 1 Floor (55left), 5 Zone Minutes (202 left). Farley and I did not get out for a walk again.
7/8 - 187.4 - Took Farley for a walk, we didn’t go as far because he was puling too much. Hubby's friend came over last night to play pool. I spent my evening watching Grey's. I started watching this a while ago on Netflix and only have 3 seasons left. My step count was not good but it was a stress free day. 6,985 Steps (28,014 left), 1 Floor (54 left), 36 Zone Minutes (166 Left).
7/9 - 188.4, Took Farley for a walk this morning he was much better. Came home and did my strength training video. I increased the weight from 2bs to 5lbs. Made it harder but still doable. Then I started to tackle the garage. Wow we simple have too much stuff. Had an awesome day for my stats. 11,359 Steps (16,655 left), 3 Floors ( 51 left), 81 Zone Minutes (85 left). I am not going to meet my goals for this week.

Hi Everyone – Looking forward to another challenge, my 4th.
Female, 5’4”, 57 years of age
HW: 210 (May, 2022)
CW: 149.2
GW: still don’t know… hope I’ll know it when I see it in the mirror… chasing a “healthy” BMI first
Goals: Continue working on same goals from previous round because it seems to have worked!
Cardio: 8/10 days (only days I struggle with this are Sunday and Wednesday due to lack of time)
Bodyweight Train: 3/10 days <- The biggest struggle of mine currently. Really need to do this!
Logging Food: 10/10 days (using a food scale every time!)
SW Round 228: 149.2
7/1: 148.6 - bouncing around that 148* - truly hope it sticks this week. Did my early morning 60-minute Zumba class this morning and just finished meal planning and writing my grocery list for the next several days. I am off from work for the next 4 days... I feel so decadent! Had to buy a couple new sports bras this morning as I am shrinking I've also notice my sandal straps around the ankles are looser... need DH to punch some new holes for me.
7/2: 149.6 - and I continue to bounce. All good here. Was supposed to have the family over for lunch and game day, but oldest DS is sick, so we're going to attempt to do this on Tuesday instead. On the bright side, that means I can do my workout early instead of trying to do it late and being too tired to get it in. Looked in my closet to see what I can fit into... I have a dress that I've had for a couple of years where the material and the cut just hug the body. A few weeks ago, it still did not look all that great on me even though I have already lost around 60 pounds, but this morning, it is almost passable. I'll try it on again in a few weeks... hope springs eternal.
7/3: 148.2 - makes me smile to see that, even if it is fleeting. Going to try to get an extra workout in today since I am home, and I won't have my Zumba class tomorrow. Other than that, pretty quiet for me.
7/4: 147.7 - Oh yeah - very pleasant surprise this morning! Having a cookout with the family today, so don't expect that to stick, but still, nice to see. I am cooking, so I can control the what, but I need to also control the how much. Definitely have both healthy and not so healthy choices... but I feel kind of empowered now to stay on track.
7/5: 148.6 - SO Hard to get up and go back to work today. That 4-day weekend felt good. I made mostly good choices yesterday, but also allowed myself an indulgence or two, nothing out of control. After everyone left, I got a little bit of a workout in. All in all a successful day. Tomorrow is going to be a stressful day, but I have my after work cardio dance class to look forward to, which also means I won't have time to eat the stress away.
7/6: 148 - As suspected, fairly stressful day. I have made a deal with myself, I can eat more calories than I plan (will still be deficit for day due to cardio dance class tonight), but I cannot eat any unhealthy for me choices. So I made sure to have extra fruits, veggies and some 0% Greek yogurt available... plus nuts. I LOVE when fresh produce is both bountiful and delicious!! It has really helped me stay away from my co-worker's birthday cake that is being shared in the office today!
7/7: 147.9 Heading to a funeral this morning, then to work. Last night's cardio workout was awesome - love a good sweat session. Stuck with my promise to myself - only ate healthy choices, didn't worry about how much. Feel pretty good this morning. Happy Friday Y'all!
7/8
7/9
7/10: 148.6 - not exactly sure where the last few days went! All of a sudden here we are at the end and I need to catch up again. I am still eating when I feel hungry as long as it is only healthy for me food. Looks like an overall loss from the end of the last round, and that is good enough for me. See you all in Round 229!
