    Hi everyone.
    I am Dawn. 5'2", 62 years old.
My BMI and stuff like that shows my optimum healthy weight should be between 110 and 118.

I have made a decision to limit restaurant food to 6 times per year since I seem to gain a few pounds each time which could take 3-6 months to get back off from one visit.
Rolling total so far: 3 out of the 6

1st week goal weight: 143.4 (ambitious?)
    1st week actual weight: 144.4

2nd week goal weight: Less than the beginning of the week, 142.2
2nd week actual weight: 142.6, so gained 0.4

    3rd week goal weight: 141.4
3rd week actual weight: 144.6 - Started the week at 142.4, so 1.8 pound gain this week

    4th week goal weight: 143.6
4th week actual weight: 145.0 - Started the week at 144.6

    5th week goal weight: 142.6
    5th week actual weight: 143.2

    6th week goal weight: 142.4
    6th week actual weight: 144.0

    7th week goal weight: 142.6
    7th week actual weight: 143.6

    8th week goal weight:
8th week actual weight: 144.8 - I kept track even though I wasn't posting on forums.

Day 52 – Saturday August 05 - DNW, basically up all night drinking water and dozing off here and there.
Day 53 – Sunday August 06 - 144.4 - I had a really good feed last night: NY Strip, Blackened prawns, spinach pasta with my own garlic and sugar snap peas. I even had red wine, which normally I can't tolerate, but it was a perfect compliment to my meal. I didn't eat all day Saturday for some reason. This morning I have Farmer's market plums, tiger eye cherries, bing cherries out for my all day "buffet" and a cup of store bought blueberries ($4 for 2lbs, couldn't resist)
Day 54 – Monday August 07 - 145.2 - Likely the Steak still sitting in there. Not sweating it, added lots of meat vitamins to my body which will take a bit, but felt like I needed.
Day 55 – Tuesday August 08 - 145.2 - Perfect day input and output. Expecting a drop soon.
Day 56 – Wednesday August 09 - 144.8 - Small drop, I'll take it. Working split shifts the next 2, 2 jobs the following day, so later dinners. Saturday and Sunday are day shifts. On track for another 13 days straight.
Day 57 – Thursday August 10 - 144.6 - A couple more late dinner nights to go, and then normal dinner time for 2, and then...not sure.
Day 58 – Friday August 11 - 144.6 - Quite late dinner last night. Very glad that I had prepped it during my break, I was soooo hungry when I got home. Lots of veggies from my garden in my dinner : - )

    9th week goal weight:
    9th week actual weight: 144.6

    Day 59 – Saturday August 12
    Day 60 – Sunday August 13
    Day 61 – Monday August 14
    Day 62 – Tuesday August 15
    Day 63 – Wednesday August 16
    Day 64 – Thursday August 17
    Day 65 – Friday August 18

10th week goal weight: Less than my 100 day start weight of 144.4. Lets say 142.4
    10th week actual weight:

I have decided to do yet another 21 day mini challenge of the legs up and arm weight exercises. The pulsating in my legs when I put them up shows me how much I really need to drain them regularly. And the extra bonus that I went from 12.5" on my upper arm down to 11.75" and honestly feel like my batwings are less flappy. I will count from the day before since I often type into here before any activity for the day, while drinking my coffee in the morning.
Anyone else going to join us for another 21?

Mini 21 day Challenge Round 3 - legs in the air arm weights exercises, 6-ish minutes.
    Round 1: 12.5" start, 11.75" end.
Round 2: 11.75" start, 11.5" Even though my weight is higher, my batwings are getting smaller?
I have a mole, so it is easy to measure in exactly the same place.
(Thanks for the dates @deepwoodslady )

Day 01 – Tuesday Aug 07 - 7.5 - I use one 8lb weight for skull crushers, and 2X5lb weights for biceps and chest presses.
Day 02 - Aug 08 – 8 minutes for my 3: skullcrushers, biceps, chest presses, 20 of each. Some days I am slower than others.
Day 03 - Aug 09 – 7 minutes for my 3. I see that my dates are off a bit, I have fixed that. I am posting these the day after.
Day 04 - Aug 10 - 8.25 minutes, and I thought that I was going slow. Still sticking with eating the 5 water crackers with Hummus when I get home so that it tides me over for enough time to do this, and then eat dinner after doing it.
    Day 05 - Aug 11 –
    Day 06 - Aug 12 –
    Day 07 - Aug 13 -
    Day 08 - Aug 14 –
    Day 09 - Aug 15 –
    Day 10 - Aug 16 –
    Day 11 - Aug 17 –
    Day 12 - Aug 18 –
    Day 13 - Aug 19 –
    Day 14 - Aug 20 –
    Day 15 - Aug 21 –
    Day 16 - Aug 22 –
    Day 17 - Aug 23 –
    Day 18 - Aug 24 –
    Day 19 - Aug 25 –
    Day 20 - Aug 26 –
    Day 21 = Aug 27 -

Start weight of this 100: 144.4 - Up one pound from the start of the last 100 of 143.4, and the previous was 142.2

@dawnbgethealthy I looked for those water crackers in my local grocery last week. I couldn't find anything. Do you have a brand name? BTW, I thought I would give konjac noodles another try for some spaghetti. Last time I bought them it was from Amazon. I don't remember the brand. This time from Walmart I got "Miracle Noodles". They were a WONDERFUL replacement for my spaghetti. I followed the rinse and boil instructions and they came out with NO ODOR so I was easily able to eat and enjoy them. I am so excited as this opens up new possibilities for me in my diet plan!

I didn't know about your brush with Poison Ivy!! I must have somehow missed that. Oh no!

The "leave the heat of Houston" has got to be tough on you.
I sort of see both sides. You have your grandbabies right there!
Texas is only going to get hotter with climate change.
Does he want to move somewhere where he can shovel snow in the winter?
Very hot here in the summers, even in Canada.

I know that he has been talking about that for quite some time.
Selling your place in Houston could afford you to live so many places extremely comfortably.
Would you consider downsizing and getting another property in Northern Oregon or something for during the hottest months?

This is tough on you. It could be a whole new chapter and lifestyle change.
Sorry that you are going through it and hope that you can come to some sort of resolution, it isn't going to go away.

@dawnbgethealthy - I too wouldn't mind getting out of the heat but to do that would be far away from the kids and grandkids. And no matter where you move they will not visit often once the kids are active in school and other activities.
We've talked about a second place in a cooler climate (Maine, Oregon, Smoky Mountains around Carolinas, Europe). BUT I have the place in South Texas already on the water (where it is hot as well) that my mother is now living in since we sold her home. She is living on social security and I'm supporting her (which btw is tough as well since DH doesn't have any parents to worry about or support financially ... my family is always asking for help and/or $$. I've bailed my brother out of foreclosure 3 times and oh by the way I put the downpayment on the home he lives in for my dad when dad bought it for the two of them. My brother still lives there after dad passed. DH's siblings are all financially stable. ). I'm already supporting two houses (taxes, utilities, repairs, maintenance, etc). Don't really want a 3rd place but my mom doesn't want to move up here to live with my sister yet so not selling the "fishing camp house". So I'm stuck on that front.
Love to sell this larger house which needs updating and repairs to have a smaller maintainable base nearby the kids but then again the property taxes aren't bad for Texas and a new smaller house would cost us a lot more in Texas.

Around and around it goes ... never ending circle until we make a move to do something!

    Sorry for the rambling!

@Lilylady3k I understand your turmoil. You have a lot going on, so many people you help, are so needed. I have SERIOUSLY been thinking about moving completely away from this rural area. I moved here about 24 years ago to be near much family like my mother, aunts, uncles, cousins and my brother. Every single one of them have passed away since I've moved here except for one aunt that has moved very far away. I do have one half-sister near but I don't see her much. She is much younger, still working and raising her family. We are just not as close as we once were since mom died 16 years ago. Mom was the glue. I really really really LONG to be back 4 hours downstate where I grew up and where my two brothers and my extended family are. I miss my cousins, I miss my nieces and nephews, I miss my WAY OF LIFE in the city. The problem with me is also my children and grandchildren. Now that they have been raised here, married here and had my grandchildren here, how can I leave? I have never been that far away from them! But I'm lonely. My children are BUSY. Working, raising their own children, doing things with their husbands etc. I feel like I'm living their life, not mine. This house I'm in also is in such need of updating and repairs. On a cellular level, I mean, it's awful. But that made it affordable for a single lady like me who was successful in business, but in a very depressed area. I'm proud of what I have accomplished primarily alone. But I need my life back now that my disabled son is grown and my options are more open. My son, who will always need to be with me, is okay with moving anywhere. With autism there are social issues and his socialization is more on social media or live streaming, not here with more people. His friends have all outgrown him since high school. They've joined the military or married and started families. Most of them just communicate with him on facebook etc. So my only ties to this area are my children and it's really pulling me. I don't know what I will end up doing in the end. I just don't have any help here when I need it. I can't find stable skilled handymen and I can't get help from these young son-in-laws who have learned nothing. I'm stuck.

We need some peace in this. You sound like the income and options of you and your husband offer you much to think about. Many more choices which, I know, can cause even more confusion. I say "Bless You" for being so good to so many people. I hope you will find your common ground with DH and peace with your decisions. Life is short. Do whatever it is that makes you happiest!

Hair dresser appointment today for a perm so I can look like I have some sort of fullness to my ever-thinning hair. I got a good phone call from my oncologist. The CT results came up stable meaning the nodule on my lung is not growing or showing behaviors of cancer (still). Yay! Next stop is the mammogram and oncology appointment at the University Hospital at the end of the month for the normal routine breast cancer stuff. Hopefully I’m still in remission.

Day 58-08/11-193.8-(Trend weight 195.5) I was THRILLED to find myself back in the 193’s again. Still working my way toward the 180’s. It helps when I put the work in. I have already pre-logged my food for today which is mainly leftovers. I hope I can sneak some exercise in tonight after the dust settles. Today is the first day for handyman. He’s from another town and county so he will be here by 11:00 for the small loose-ends work. That will take at least 3 business days. I’m still praying for a good quote on the big jobs. I’m babysitting my DGS Owen today. He spent the night last night. He keeps me on my toes yet stops me from beginning any exercise routine with his constant needs. Nana, Oh Nana, Hey Nana etc. LOL. No way I can get on a bike or start a dance routine without having to constantly stop. However, sometimes I get him to do some strength training with me to teach him the importance of fitness. Rain expected by 2:00.

    Ultimate goal 70 kg
Day 1 Thursday June 15 Already the 15th on my side of the world. 79 kg. I am at 25 BMI but my ethnicity calls for a lower BMI to get in a healthy weight range. Went for a 3 hour walk. went 1 cal over my net limit.
Day 2 Friday June 16 79 kg. No loss but maintaining is better than gaining. Didn't do much today as I'm coming down with a cold.

    1st week goal weight: 78.8
    1st week actual weight:79 kg

    Day 3 Saturday June 17 78.8 kg
Day 4 Sunday June 18 78.4 kg. still coughing quite badly and food doesn't taste great, so keeping the calories down.
Day 5 Monday June 19 78 kg. 1 kilo in 5 days? Holy cow! I feel I'm eating enough. remind self that weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint. Prob this rate won't continue
    Day 6 Tuesday June 20 78 kg
Day 7 Wednesday June 21 78.1 kg. Every day it isn't raining I go for at least a 60 min walk. While walking I look out for dropped coins. So far I have found 90 cents (US 54 cents) I plan to save it all and buy myself a non food treat at the end of the Challenge.
Day 8 Thursday June 22 78 kg. Keeping the salt down - but it's fat I want to lose, not water.
Day 9 Friday June 23 77.8 kg. Found $2 (US1.27) while walking. This week has def gone well.

2nd week goal weight: 78.3 kg
2nd week actual weight: 77.9 kg. Wow. Just wow. Don't know if this rate will continue, but I'll take the loss so far.

    Day 10 Saturday June 24 77.8 kg
Day 11 Sunday June 25 78kg. Going in the wrong direction! So what did I do? Spent the day eating buttered toast and honey.
Day 12 Monday June 26 77.8 kg. Feeling lazy today so bought some potato salad for lunch. The spuds were undercooked and the mayo so sweet my teeth almost fell out. Maybe my tastebuds are becoming accustomed to less sugar? I am trying to avoid sauces and dressings and just using herbs and spices in cooking.
Day 13 Tuesday June 27 77.9 kg. Eating too much bread.
Day 14 Wednesday June 28 77.5 kg. Raining today so didn't walk. Drinking a load of black coffee which acts as an appetite suppressant for me.
Day 15 Thursday June 29 77.6 kg. Tried on a size 16D bra, was a little loose. Tried on an old 14C, was a bit too tight. How uncomfortable do I want to be until I lose a little more weight?
    Day 16 Friday June 30 77.4 kg

    3rd week goal weight: 77.2
3rd week actual weight: 77.4 Didn't quite reach target but I'll take the loss anyway.

    Day 17 – Saturday July 01 77 kg. Waist 33.5 ins. Hips 43.5 ins.
Day 18 – Sunday July 02 76.8 kg. BMI 24.5. 2 more kilos to lose and I will be in the healthy range for my ethnicity. Hint - if you calculate BMI, use a calculator that takes into account age, gender and ethnicity, not just weight and height.
    Day 19 – Monday July 03 76.7 kg
Day 20 – Tuesday July 04 76.5 kg - have lost a total of 9 kg (19.8 lbs) since starting MFP
    Day 21 – Wednesday July 05 76.7 kg
Day 22 – Thursday July 06 76.8 kg. I am 65 today! Celebrated retirement by going to an Indian restaurant. Mmmm .... buttered naan bread ....
Day 23 – Friday July 07 76.4 kg. Today is Day 100 of tracking my food and exercise on MFP. I have lost 9.1 kg altogether (20 lbs). Jeans getting rather loose.

4th week goal weight: 76.5 kg
4th week actual weight: 76.4 kg. Made it!

Day 24 – Saturday July 08 76 kg! woot woot!
    Day 25 – Sunday July 09 76 kg
Day 26 – Monday July 10 76.8 kg. Neighbor gave me a pot of homemade apricot jam. Note to self - pass on such future goodies to food pantry immediately instead of devouring jam sandwiches non stop ....
    Day 27 – Tuesday July 11 76.4 kg
    Day 28 – Wednesday July 12 76.2 kg
Day 29 – Thursday July 13 76 kg. Tonight we celebrated Matariki, the Rising of the Seven Sisters (the Pleiades). I was very restrained at the feast, only a small portion of roast pork and sweet potato, no potato bread, and just one scoop of ice cream. Part of the invite required a contribution to the food pantry, so I found a box of cereal, a jar of honey, some other sweet stuff and a can of coconut milk to donate - I hope someone needs to put on weight!
Day 30 – Friday July 14 75.5 kg! 3.5 kg lost in 30 days! Wow!

5th week goal weight: 75.5 kg
5th week actual weight: 75.5 kg. Go me!

    Day 31 – Saturday July 15 75.9 kg
    Day 32 – Sunday July 16 76.2 kg
    Day 33 – Monday July 17 76 kg
    Day 34 – Tuesday July 18 75.3 kg
    Day 35 – Wednesday July 19 75.1 kg
Day 36 – Thursday July 20 74.9 kg. Waist 33 ins. Hips 42 ins. Yes! Down in the Healthy BMI range! Aim to get down to 22 BMI.
Day 37 – Friday July 21 74.8 kg Thinking of doing some weight training in order to replace fat with muscle and develop some upper body strength.

6th week goal weight: 75 kg
6th week actual weight: 74.8 kg

    Day 38 – Saturday July 22 75.1 kg
    Day 39 – Sunday July 23 74.9 kg
    Day 40 – Monday July 24 75.1 kg
Day 41 – Tuesday July 25 74.9 kg. This feels like a plateau tho I'm still regularly below my net allowed calories.
    Day 42 – Wednesday July 26 74.8 kg.
Day 43 – Thursday July 27 75 kg. Think I may be missing recording some calories somewhere. Need to be more vigilant.
Day 44 – Friday July 28 74.3 kg. Before MFP I weighed 100 kg (220 lbs) but managed to lose a fair bit of it even without tracking. Now I've lost over 25 kg (55 lbs) I tried on a cardigan I knitted for myself back then - and now it's enormous! I feel like the Saggy, Baggy Elephant wearing it. Off to the thrift store with it! I'll knit myself a new one after I've kept the weight off for a while.

7th week goal weight: Setting weekly goals doesn't do much for me, I find - just keeping my eye on the overall goal and celebrating various milestones as they occur.
    7th week actual weight:

    Day 45 – Saturday July 29 74.5 kg
Day 46 – Sunday July 30 75.1 kg. I made a start on decluttering today, after watching youtube videos. Two shopping bags of size 18 clothes donated - I swear on Peter Rabbit's lettuce I will never let myself get that big again. Size 14 now - would like to get back to 12.
    Day 47 – Monday July 31 74.8 kg
    Day 48 – Tuesday August 01 74.5 kg. Sometimes I weigh myself with a towel on. Sometimes I don't.
    Day 49 – Wednesday August 02 74.2 kg.
Day 50 – Thursday August 03 74 kg. Yay! Halfway through the Challenge and I have lost 5 kg (11 lbs). Another 50 days left to lose the last 4 kg and I will beat goal!
    Day 51 – Friday August 04 73.9 kg

    8th week goal weight:
    8th week actual weight:

    Day 52 – Saturday August 05 73.8 kg
Day 53 – Sunday August 06 73.9 kg Got a lot of exercise today doing a massive declutter and clean. I can now pretty well fit all my clothes into one closet and one set of drawers. The bedroom looks way neater and I'm thinking of repainting the walls. I learned from You Tube about "depression rooms" - that's what I was living in.
    Day 54 – Monday August 07 74 kg
    Day 55 – Tuesday August 08 DNW
Day 56 – Wednesday August 09 74 kg. A little off track over the last 2 days as I was on a noho marae (overnight stay at the tribal meeting place) and it is famous for kai moana (seafood). I ate a lot! Also I learned to weave a bag for collecting shellfish, so I think I'm going to be eating more ...
    Day 57 – Thursday August 10 74.5 kg
Day 58 – Friday August 11 73.9 kg. ....and when the weight was up, it was up. and when it was down, it was down. and when the number was the same at the end of the week - it was neither up nor down!

    Week 9:
Day 52 – Saturday August 05: 170.2 Busy day yesterday but no ‘exercise’ per se. At 8:30 last nite decided to just “do it” and shredded cabbage for sauerkraut. Have friends arriving later today. We met years ago on E-diets so it won’t be a food blowout. Just going to have to juggle a social weekend with early mornings for work. Switching from using Splenda in coffee to a natural ‘raw’ (brown) sugar. All joking aside, I need to get a handle on this backslide. Had hoped to start biking again but now the bears are moving into our area in search for berries etc so that’s a bummer.

Day 53 – Sunday August 06: 170.4 Busy but happy day; worked in morning but ended day with a great dinner with friends over. Trouble falling asleep b/c I’m breaking the habit of my late night PB&J sandwich ( 2 successful nights ).

Day 54 – Monday August 07: 169.4 Worked then g/f and I escaped for a paddle before supper. We were late so the fellas made dinner. Had a wreck exiting my kayak (talk about a mud bath!) … lesson learned, the weather is never so warm you don’t need to bring extra clothes!

Day 55 – Tuesday August 08: 170 Work went well. Feeling tired but got bedding swapped and dinner planned.

Day 56 – Wednesday August 09: 169.4 Did measurements, added them for a total of Town in morning; then getting ready for friend to arrive. Great wine & dinner company 😊.

Day 57 – Thursday August 10: 169 ( Day 4 w/o Splenda in coffee, using sm amt of raw sugar). Friend and her son left today. Great visits. Did 2 batches of pickles, now well ready for bed. Missed starting the “21 day exercise challenge” yesterday so did 5 exercises on the TRX.

Day 58 – Friday August 11: 170.6 tired so a quiet day. Did get out for a 20 minute bike ride; new to me bike works sooo much better; now I’m enthused about riding again.

    Hi everyone.
    I am Dawn. 5'2", 62 years old.
My BMI and stuff like that shows my optimum healthy weight should be between 110 and 118.

I have made a decision to limit restaurant food to 6 times per year since I seem to gain a few pounds each time which could take 3-6 months to get back off from one visit.
Rolling total so far: 3 out of the 6

1st week goal weight: 143.4 (ambitious?)
    1st week actual weight: 144.4

2nd week goal weight: Less than the beginning of the week, 142.2
2nd week actual weight: 142.6, so gained 0.4

    3rd week goal weight: 141.4
3rd week actual weight: 144.6 - Started the week at 142.4, so 1.8 pound gain this week

    4th week goal weight: 143.6
4th week actual weight: 145.0 - Started the week at 144.6

    5th week goal weight: 142.6
    5th week actual weight: 143.2

    6th week goal weight: 142.4
    6th week actual weight: 144.0

    7th week goal weight: 142.6
    7th week actual weight: 143.6

    8th week goal weight:
8th week actual weight: 144.8 - I kept track even though I wasn't posting on forums.

    9th week goal weight:
    9th week actual weight: 144.6

Day 59 – Saturday August 12 - 143.4 - Well, I really changed it up yesterday, not really on purpose. I had a half of a tuna sandwich between one job on to the next. I filled a to-go cup with mint and limes and took that with me to my Brand Ambassador job. I refilled it once while there. When I got home I think that I was full of water. I had my water crackers and hummus and did my legs up arm workouts after that. I had a fairly big bowl of green beans that I picked from my garden, ate those with hummus in front of the TV, then had some more water crackers and hummus. I basically didn't have dinner, but wasn't hungry. Hummus is filling I guess. I had sugar free jello with 3tbsp light cool whip after that. Voila, drop of 1.4 pounds! Hmm. I think that this is the second time that I have had (healthy) snacks instead of dinner.

Day 05 - Aug 11 – 8.5 minutes. My usual 3 exercises, 20 of each. The time flies so quickly with this endeavour.
    Day 06 - Aug 12 –
    Day 07 - Aug 13 -
    Day 08 - Aug 14 –
    Day 09 - Aug 15 –
    Day 10 - Aug 16 –
    Day 11 - Aug 17 –
    Day 12 - Aug 18 –
    Day 13 - Aug 19 –
    Day 14 - Aug 20 –
    Day 15 - Aug 21 –
    Day 16 - Aug 22 –
    Day 17 - Aug 23 –
    Day 18 - Aug 24 –
    Day 19 - Aug 25 –
    Day 20 - Aug 26 –
    Day 21 = Aug 27 -

Start weight of this 100: 144.4 - Up one pound from the start of the last 100 of 143.4, and the previous was 142.2

I read magazines while in bed, escapism I suppose. I just don't feel like getting into a book at night.

I read this article which I found interesting.
A few of us are older and wanting to live longer and be healthy.
The grapefruit thing was interesting to me even though I don't take any sort of medication except vitamins.

    @deepwoodslady

I had no idea that you would like to move back to civilization.
I know that @Lilylady3k 's hubbie has been wanting to move for quite some time.

    I like what you said:
"Life is short. Do whatever it is that makes you happiest! "

You know, these should be our Golden years.
Both of you have been looking after others for so long.

Quality of life is our choices.

With the work that you have done to the house Donna you would likely see a nice profit.
Would you be considering a condo closer to you other fam and services?

Oh, the water crackers. The brand I like (although I have tried several and they are all good) is actually Great Value, Walmart's own brand. I like the cracked pepper ones. 5 = 80 calories.

Kanjac, yes, I buy the Miracle noodles also.
Honestly, I was never really that much of a pasta girl, I just love sauce.
With my garden stuff I like to make a pasta with many cloves of garlic, sugar snap peas or green beans, herbs that I grow, a bit of shredded chicken, a bit of fresh parmesan, black pepper, and 2 tbsp sour cream.
I was eating that quite a bit last week because I harvested this year's crop of garlic (36 heads) and wanted to eat up my garlic from last year while this new crop is hanging braided to cure for a couple of weeks. I like garlic raw, not cooked, so that goes in at the end of my "pasta".

Once in awhile I will use the angel hair "kanjac" to make a stir fry. I use the fettucine shape for meatballs in tomato sauce. I have tried the rice kanjac as well (miracle brand). I tried ricing my own cauliflower before, but it is way too messy for this bachelor (ette). I like kanjac much better for the texture and ease.
For rice, I just eat rice normally. In fact I think that I will make up something for dinner after work today that includes rice. I make a rice cooker of it once in awhile and measure it into portions for the freezer.

@deepwoodslady - I agree that we need to have a row of pros and cons when making a decision and in the end doing things that bring us joy in our lives. Right now I'm taking an exercise class, photography with the cell phone, sketching and watercolor classes at the senior community center which is great!!!! Also 2 book clubs and a sorority alumnae group that I'm active in ... oh and Lady Clay Shooters. Then volunteer teaching English as a second language at church. The neighborhood I live in has 10 pools (1 year around heated lap pool) and lots of walking paths. So besides the kids, family and friends I have a network here to keep me busy and the opportunity to be active.
But DH doesn't have that same network after retiring. And the heat here is oppressive ... and it is FLAT.
    My thought is let's travel!
    His thought is let's move!

Love this piece of advice you mentioned above.
"I hope you will find your common ground with DH and peace with your decisions. Life is short. Do whatever it is that makes you happiest!"

Good luck with your own life decisions. I expect we have another 10, 20, 30 years to really live and enjoy life so we need to make those years count.

THIS WEEK since I've been sick as has DH ... my focus has been cleaning out my office. There are piles everywhere and still so much to clean out after working and 3 kids that no longer need to occupy paperwork space in my office. Oh and the pictures that have been handed down through the years ... what do we do with these? So many people that I have no clue who they are but for some reason I have all the pics from both sides of our families.

Goal for the next 45 days: -10~15lbs --> down to 133.4~138.4lbs

    Day 55 – Tuesday August 08 148.4
    Day 56 – Wednesday August 09 148.0
Day 57 – Thursday August 10 148.2 - I've noticed whenever I first start drinking a good amount of water after a while of not doing so, the next day I usually gain a marginal amount of weight, but if I continue, it actually helps with my bloating and my weight goes down. Hopefully the same happens for tomorrow.
    Day 58 – Friday August 11 147.2 - I think I was right.

    9th week goal weight: 146.4
    9th week actual weight: 147.2
9th week weight change: -1.2 lbs

Day 59 – Saturday August 12 146.0 - Came down with a fever last night so this loss makes sense. Hopefully I can start exercising soon once I make my full recovery from Covid and whatever stomach bug I have.
    Day 60 – Sunday August 13
    Day 61 – Monday August 14
    Day 62 – Tuesday August 15
    Day 63 – Wednesday August 16
    Day 64 – Thursday August 17
    Day 65 – Friday August 18

    10th week goal weight: 145.2

@dawnbgethealthy Yes, I have to avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice (which I love). It's because of my high blood pressure medication. That's sad since grapefruit is wonderful for dieting.

@dawnbgethealthy True, I've done lots of work on the house but there is so much more to do.
The house had good bones but had not been redone since being built in 1971 (the add-on garage and extra rooms were in the 90's). That means that it needs everything cosmetic. I can't live with olive green and harvest gold forever and I don't think anyone would want to take it on without cutting the price (like I did when I bought it). SOMEDAY though, it will turn a nice little profit when it's all that it should be. It is hard to turn rural money and profits into something substantial for city living and pricing (which is much more expensive). I would definitely need a nice profit.

Thanks for the info on the crackers. I will look for them on my next trip to Walmart. In regards to rice, it is something I can't eat as a diabetic. Especially if I prep cook and will be eating it everyday for a few days straight. So I either buy the frozen cauliflower rice, or I rice my own in the little food processor thingy I bought a couple of years ago. It makes it easy. Lately in this newer house I've just been buying it frozen. Especially in the off-season months when cauliflower is more expensive.

@Lilylady3k If there were a pool anywhere at all in my county or nearby towns it would be like I died and went to heaven. Even our small motels don't have them. I think there is one hotel about 80 miles from here that has once because it is a chain motel like a comfort inn or something. Swimming would be my way to go! Your area has so much to offer and you have really built a life there. The heat....well that does get more difficult as we get on in age. But I like your idea of travel. In Michigan we call it "being snowbirds" when retirees leave for warmer climate in the winter and come back in the summer (which is hot but cooler than Florida.). Perhaps you should do that traveling and become "Sunbirds" and leave in the hottest part of the year for somewhere cooler. Perhaps get a small place or condo to spend your summers at. It is nice, though, for you to have so many choices. I'm sure you and DH will figure it all out eventually.

    2. I am up 8.8 pounds from my lowest ending weight (#9)
    3. I am still down 5.8 pounds from the first challenge (#1)
    4. I am still ahead of the game and these challenges are working for me. It is up & down and slower than I would like but it’s generally working. I’ve got to try harder and put in the work. When I do, clearly the results are much better.

“We will encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated.” ~Maya Angelou

Goal This Round: 182.0 (Sounds like a Dream but it’s 4 pounds per month)
Starting Weight from End of Last Challenge: : 194.0
    Challenge Ending Weight: xxxxx

Mini challenge: My monthly goal is always about 4 pounds per month. HOWEVER, I never seem to make that. I will continue to keep that goal because it Should Be achievable (even though it is not for me) but never say never, right? So, Between Independence Day Holiday (July 4th) and Labor Day Holiday (Sept 4th) I will weigh somewhere, ANYWHERE in the 180’s. I don’t care if it’s on the brim. I’ve got to start getting further away from the 200’s again! Starting Weight on 7/4 is 195.4.

    Previous Weeks:

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

    Day 57-08/10-195.2-(Trend weight 195.6)

Day 59-08/12-192.6-(Trend weight 195.2) Handyman was very nice and seems like he’s going to work out. So far, so good. He also has resources for what he is not licensed or knowledgeable in. Happy camper here! Stuck to my guns on the diet front, got in a few minutes of strength training and got in 32 minutes of dancing. I pick very random songs that have the right “beat”. A bit slower for the warm-up and cool-down. A little more challenging ones in the middle of my set. One song I chose as a bit of a warm-up was “Cry to me” by Solomon Burke. It was one of the songs in the movie “Dirty Dancing”. Aw Come On, give it a try!
