I got some good news that I'm calling a NSV. It has nothing in particular to do with fitness or weight management. Only tangentially.
I have been volunteering with a non-profit to do some invasive aquatic species work. Last year I was asked to help, and I said yes. The person I worked with said, "I can't pay you." I said that was good because otherwise I wouldn't do it; I had made a commitment to myself not to work for money for at least six months after retiring. Well, as way leads to way, I offered to help again this year. I was told there might be funds in the grant to pay me this year. I told them I'd do whatever was best for them; keep being a volunteer or get compensation. There's a benefit to the organization either way. I have been working with them for a few months already, just a few days a month.
I just found out that I'll get some compensation this year. Yay! Feels good to offer to trade time for money for something you love and would do anyway. The reality is I can use the extra money since property tax is due soon, and I've had some unexpected expenses lately.
The tangential relationship to fitness is that we do this work from canoes. Being fit enough to paddle long distances for multiple days in a row allowed me to offer myself up to do this, and it "got me a job."

Walking around at work today my scrub pants felt noticeably loose and baggy.13

I ran out of pants the other day 🙈 I had a clean pair left in the closet, but when I put it on I realized that it has become waaaayyy too baggy to wear in public. So I had to wear my yoga pants instead, lol. The next size down is starting to get a bit odd-shaped too at this point
but it'll have to do until I can finally wear my blue jeans out. I've been able to zip them up for the past 10.5 lbs or so, however they still aren't appropriate for wearing in public haha

I had a slice of birthday cake at lunch time yesterday; a fraisier, really tasty. There's a slice leftover. I didn't want it last night, and then again today either. AND I am not eating it because I don't want it enough. I normally would just eat it because it's there and it's good.11

NSV ya say? Laughing after the fact. Facetiming my sister and she said I needed a smaller bra. I'm like, listen, that costs money! Been using a fancy paper clip to fold over my work pants so they don't fall down because I refuse to purchase new clothes. Maybe PTSD from clothes shopping, but not doing it16

Putting socks and (walking) shoes on this morning: Noticed that I no longer need to gyrate around with huffing and puffing. Able to easily bend over and get them on with minimal effort. This a little thing that is HUGE for me .17

I put on one of my XL shirts this morning and was pleased with how it fit. It wasn’t tight. I had my picture taken with family this afternoon and I was shocked. The shirt (which I thought looked/fit good) looked like a tent on me. Wow. The picture was horrible but the realization that I had lost that much was great 😀
And now that I think of it - the fact that I was even willing to have my picture taken is a BIG NSV.
So, because of the above incident I went to buy myself a few tops. I started to pull an XL as usual off the rack but stopped myself. I grabbed the Larges and dreaded trying them on. I was certain they would be tight and I would be coming back for the XL. Guess what?!?! The large fit and I think (I am not real certain of my judgement right now) they look nice.
My mind is BLOWN! I have not been in a large for over a decade. It was hard not to do a happy dance in the store.

My husband routinely uses IKEA chip clips, especially on his Tai chi gear.
I’m just waiting for “cloud hands” to become “bare butt”, and I am going to laugh. my. *kitten*. off when it happens. It’ll be the best “told ya so” ever.8 -

I was feeling kind of woe is me tonight about not being able to eat to soothe my Sunday night, start of the work week anxiety due to having already used most of my calories today. I chose not to eat more because I want this to be a day that gets me closer to the results I want, not stagnates or keeps me further away. That is a pretty big shift for me.🌟26

Finally, for the first time in my adult life I'm in my healthy BMI range 🙌 been calorie counting, weight training and getting 10,000 steps in a day for almost a year now and I'm just taking a maintenance break before I set myself a new lower goal.35
