Ok, new round, and I’m really aiming to clean up my act. I know I’ve said that round after round and just haven’t gotten it together. I’m up 12 pounds from the beginning of the year when I wanted to go 20 pounds the other way. I am trying not to beat myself up over it, but I have to figure out why I’ve been self-sabotaging, not just in terms of weight but other things as well. I’ve never been like this. But I’m going to try really hard this round to get back to eating responsibly and writing every day. Really. Really really. (Anyone have any reading recommendations on self-sabotage?)
11/09 - 189.6
Right direction, if embarrassingly high. I’m off in a few minutes to pick up ingredients for a big pot of vegetable soup so I can freeze “soup muffins” for low-cal lunches. DH is making fettuccine with clam sauce tonight, so I’m having a salad for lunch. It’s gorgeous out, so I see a nice long walk in my day. Oh, and I knitted Charlie a sweater. 😊
11/10 - 188.4
That’s a bit better.
11/11 - 188.4
We ordered out Thai food for lunch, so skipped dinner. I had pad Thai, which is much lower in calories than my favorite green curry with rice! We aren’t the only ones with snack-control issues, though—I found the cat eating the dog’s breakfast! 🤣😂🤣
11/12 - 189
Sort of expected that, but it’s ok. Time lag from Friday.
11/13 - 190.2
Ugh. Well, since I can’t seem to motivate myself to move more, I’ve decided to sign Charlie up for the American Kennel Club Fit Dog program, which requires walking mileage on a regular basis. He can’t do it alone, so I’ll be walking with him. 😁 We start today. I’ve hung pants I want to back into on the bathroom and bedroom doors as motivation, and a pic of me 5 years ago at 129 on the fridge. How could I gain (back) so much weight in 5 years? I’ve also decided to weigh only on the last day of each round beginning next round. I think I see small losses as permission to eat more, and then I regain plus. I’m embarrassed about the whole thing and grateful for this non-judgmental group. Thanks, you guys!
11/14 - 189.4
Yesterday was a good day. No lapses. Yay!
11/15 - 188.4
Another good day. I’m hoping to keep some momentum going through the holidays. Fortunately, we don’t have a lot of events coming up, so that’s good. I’m determined not to start the new year heavier than I started this one.

About meI'm 35 years old, married, mom of 2 year old twins. My highest weight (recently) was 153lbs. I'm trying to get down to 125. I'm trying to not just get slim, but get fit and in the best shape I can be.
I've somewhat recently got into running and have goals of running 10k (signed up for one in January) and hopefully a half marathon next winter. I see running as my 'me' thing.
I wouldn't say I've hit a plateau at this point, but I'm struggling to make the progress that I want. I reached 133 in early October, but I fell off the wagon pretty hard and am working to get back there.
SW: 138.3
Gw: 136.0
UGW: 125
11/8: 138.3
11/9: 139.8. Not too happy about this, but I know I did everything right yesterday. I ate well, stayed within my calorie goal, went for a morning walk and a run at night. So I'm just going to chalk it up to daily fluctuations. I was slightly higher on carbs yesterday and I'm a bit sore from increasing my runs recently, so it's likely I'm retaining some extra water.
11/10: 139.8. Another good day, as far as eating and activity goes. Did a 4 miles run at night, as well as a long walk in the morning. Calories were within goal. So I'm happy with what I'm doing. I'm just not too happy with the results, or lack there of. I know I'm being impatient. There may be some pms retention at play as well. But it's frustrating to be trying so hard and seeing so little results. Especially since I have seen results before doing exactly what I'm doing now. I'm hoping for the magical swoosh that comes along sometimes, making up for the lack of previous progress.
11/11: 138.9. Happy it went down a little, still hoping for another drop. Yesterday was okay, went for a walk, but no run. Eating was on track. Husband ordered ice cream, but I said no for me. It was quite difficult, but I'm determined to drop some weight.
11/12: 137.3. Happy with the drop. Water weight is working itself out. I ran 6 miles at the gym yesterday and gave the house a good clean. I ended the day with over 21,000 steps. Food was pretty good, I even said no to dessert!
11/13: 135.9!! There's the swoosh I've been waiting for! I ran 4 miles yesterday and was under my calories.
11/14: 135.9. It was a good day. I ran 4 miles. I didn't feel like going to the gym and running but I did anyway. It ended up being a really good run. I felt really good and ended up getting a PR on my 4 mile run. I felt like I could have ran all night. Food was good too, I stayed under calories.
11/15: 134.7. Yeesh, I wasn't expecting that loss, but I'm super excited about it. I've really been sticking to my calories (even though way too many of them came from a Dutch Bros drink yesterday). I've also been upping my runs lately, in intensity, frequency and length. It feels so good for everything to be coming together. I'm starting to eye the 133.2 that I had about this time last month. I'm hoping to get back there soon. I'm a bit disappointed that i regained to much so fast, but glad I'm getting back there.

11/15 - DNW - My baby girl, Rebel, crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning. I knew in my heart it was coming and was on auto-pilot this morning so I didn't weigh in. I was also up late last night at an event for BF, which also didn't help. I'm a mess right now and likely will be for the next several days. I think I will take a break from the forums for a bit. I'm traveling for work tomorrow (1.5 hour drive one-way so just a day trip, but still no chance to post), now leaving early Friday due to BF's work (he's on vacation Friday but there's a call that they're asking him to PLEASE be on so we have to arrive at the hotel early enough for him to take that rather than take our time). Saturday is the 5k and then the drive home. Tuesday we leave for 5 days and won't return until late the 25th which should leave me returning 2 days before the next round ends. I'm going to allow myself to process my grief in as much of a healthy way as possible without any kind of weight expectations or concerns. Just in case, Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US who celebrate. I'm thankful for all of you. If I don't jump in after my Thanksgiving trip, good luck next round and I'll see you in Round 243!

Previous Day's Comments11/08 - I had a self-sabotage night. BF made homemade guac and he brought out chips so I splurged on chips & guac while making dinner. Then he asked if I'd like to help him finish off the last of the ice cream and I said yes without thinking. I took m lactose pills but I was 750 (estimated) calories over goal for the day and lactose pills don't help with water retention from salt. Plus, it was too dark to take the dogs for a walk after dinner so I didn't get my step goal, either. Better today - no Wet Wednesday as there's a conflict so we're having chicken quarters for dinner with whatever sides we have at home (frozen or canned veggies included. Better than no veg!). Leftover chicken stir fry for lunch and breakfast was a fruit&protein smoothie with chia, flax, and greek yogurt. I only managed half of it. I ran 20 minutes this morning as well, since the 5k is in 10 days and I took a week and a half off of running between travel and weather! That 20 minutes was terribly challenging so I'm hoping that my efforts this week into early next will be enough to get me through to completing the 5k without stopping (even if I don't PR or even get close to June's PR. Circumstances have changed a lot)
11/09 - Better. I was well behaved yesterday. I drank all my water, started my lunch off with a soup and didn't overeat, despite being out. Dinner was light, though no veggies (just potatoes so not a total loss). Thankfully my lunch had some. Tonight is steak bites as the grill broke while cooking last night (it's old and the weld failed) and its raining so want to keep it indoors. Lunch will be the last of the Birdseye Voila frozen meal (chicken stir fry). Breakfast was an open-faced sandwich of lemon pepper salmon with scrambled egg on whole wheat toast. No walk due to rain today (and walking pad still scheduled for Monday - it's supposed to be raining Monday as well, boo) but I did do a strength workout and pedaled on the bike for 15 minutes. I've only run as much as 25 minutes/2 miles in one go in preparation for this 5k so I'm a tad worried about adding the extra 12-14minutes/1 mile to it without extra training. Hopefully it won't be too awful.

11/13 - Not bad at all for after a weekend of not logging or really leaning into my healthy habits! Not ideal, but I definitely expected to be higher today. My walking pad is scheduled for delivery this afternoon. It was raining this morning so no walk and BF got up earlier than anticipated so no workout inside. I'm cooking dinner which means no walk before dinner and it'll be too dark after- perfect for my first test of the walking pad! @potasha I'll certainly let you know how it goes! The past several days have been a blur and its been hard to remember what day it is and whether I came on to post or not. We had a Veteran's Day parade at my Goddaughter's school followed by a performance at my Godson's school for Veteran's Day. Then we went for breakfast before coming home to resume work. Saturday was a bunch of work around the house to prepare for winter as it's been getting much colder than normal for this time of year. Firewood is chopped and set out to dry in the hutch for the fireplace, the travel trailer has been moved away from the trees and winterized. Yesterday we hung out with friends for homemade chili and cornbread while watching football. Weekends will be hectic through the beginning of December so this was like a last hurrah!
11/14 - Not bad for not truly tracking. I put in estimates for lunch and dinner because I didn't have the patience or mental capacity to sit down and create a recipe on here for them. I was over, but not by much. My walking pad came in. Easiest set-up ever. Just pull it out of the package, plug it in, and go! It's controlled by a remote with a wrist band. I walked a mile at 2.8mph last night on it. This morning I jogged. I started super slow as my ankle is always a little more iffy and sore running on a treadmill. I finished off the run by taking it all the way up to it's max speed of 5mph (or about 11:55min/mile pace). I think I'm really going to like it. It comes with a little lubrication bottle and an allen wrench to adjust the belt and ensure it's lubricated appropriately. It felt solid all the way through the run and didn't seem to have any issues whatsoever at my weight. It says the max weight for it is 242lbs so I'm well under that. However, my impact on jogging was just fine and no issues there, so I'd say it's quite sturdy. @potasha It's only been used twice, once for walking, once for jogging, but so far it's definitely worth it to me! Especially as it's a colder morning than it has been lately and I didn't want to run AND walk dogs out there hehe. Speaking of, I guess I should go do that now that it's light out.

SGW on MFP: 301
SGW this round: 269.2
GW this round: 26911/8: 269.2 this morning! I am hoping this puts me firmly in the 260's. Woke up this morning to news that we are going to need home repairs - kind of stressing. However, I am looking forward to baking these acorn squash--If imma be stress eating it will at least be some high fiber vitamin packed healthy business 😄11/15: 269.5. Has it already been almost 10 days?? Low energy this morning but I'm hoping that picks up once my coffee kicks in. I have a few things in mind for Thanksgiving. Husband keeps suggesting tacos and I can take a hint 😂
11/9: 269.2. Soooo busy. Not a minute of downtime. The kid requested an orange basque cheesecake for birthday time, so that was a fun challenge. I've never made one before so i am so curious to see how it turns out. I get to be a sneaky sneak and wrap the presents in the morning while everybody is asleep 🥷 We've also got the party coming up on Saturday and all of the kids will probably not eat the cheesecake, so I'm making cupcakes tomorrow after dinner.
11/10: Young'un's birthday 🥳🎂 269. Laughs, wings, cheesecake, and presents. The cheesecake turned out great! And the perfect size to not have it hanging around for several days. I might try to figure out how to do that with pumpkin for Thanksgiving. Good day today.
11/11: Young'un's birthday party 🧁🍕🎳 270.5 this morning--water weight gain. We went out for wings last night and afterwards I baked half the cupcakes for the party, then figured out i needed another 1/3 of a cup of dulce de leche so i was up till 3 boiling another can of condensed milk. 🙃🙃🙃 Got up this morning and baked the rest of the cupcakes, made frosting and decorated them. I'm ready for a nap and the party isn't even for another hour 😂
11/12: 272. Lots of sugar and lots of salt yesterday. I'm getting used to seeing the fluctuations now that I'm weighing every day. It makes me feel better that it's normal for weight to go up and down, but I have to admit that it does make me feel guilty about eating fun food to see the water weight even if my calories are in check. Everyone had a good time at the party! My NSV is I brought home only a few cupcakes -- what the kids didn't eat i gave away to other folks at the bowling alley. Came home and fell asleep by 8, then woke up at midnight and couldn't get back to sleep until 5. So my schedule is all crazy but I'm not taking any naps today so i can fall asleep tonight. I have leftover cake so I'm going to make cake truffles to send to work with my husband and that will be the end of that! No cake hanging around for days after the event 🏆🏆
11/13: 272.2. Body is hanging on to that water, boy. It will be a busy day at work today. Went to bed at 7:30 last night. Ate a good sized breakfast this morning since I don't know what the lunch at the department meeting will be. Planning to do a few laps around the courtyard at work after lunch today also.
11/14: 271.8. Better, but geez. I've decided for sure now on making a Thanksgiving meal that will be finished in one day. Same for Christmas although i know the whole month of December is full of treat-making and giving; maybe these two meals not being week-long events will offset that. I'm interested to try the experiment, anyway! I've always cooked more than enough for six people to eat twice (at least) with leftovers for days on these holidays, so it may even be refreshing to be able to spend more time relaxing and less time shopping and cooking this year.
I am thinking about holidays and my relationship with food going all the way back to my family and childhood. The holidays have always been the time when everyone brought out their top game in the kitchen, because it would not just show that they want everyone to know they care, but also it would kind of seem rude not to do so. Nobody ever brought just a bag of chips or a premade potato salad to dinner, and if someone brought a raw vegetable tray they would also bring a dessert or side dish. I don't think I have ever not made a traditional Thanksgiving dinner before, so I'm curious about how it will feel to not be cooking for three days or more. Will I feel like I have deprived my family, or that i have been deprived if there is no cornbread dressing? Should i still make a small pan of dressing and cranberry sauce anyway (now that i think about it, cranberry sauce in a shredded beef taco kind of sounds like it would work)?

Seeing the scale go down the way it is tells me I really wasn’t logging everything I was eating before this 10 days. I’ve been logging every bite that goes in my mouth through this 10 days. Realising that to be full I don’t need as much food as I think I do. Logging everything is helping me to really think about my choices and why I’m eating.

@jlwalker6 I had a similar worry when I didn’t do a big Christmas Day spread last year. The most lovely thing was that my family understood what I was trying to do and just went with a non traditional Christmas. I think you’ll be surprised, in a good way, by everyone’s reaction to not having a 3 day feast ☺️7

For the last 3 years our daughter has hosted and made ham and turkey. The downside for me is no turkey to pick at. Last year we went and bought Boar’s Head Ovengold Turkey from the deli. I make 4 pies each year - one choice each for the “children.” This year I won’t be making pumpkin because DSIL’s mom has claimed that. Instead, I will make Pecan as that’s my DH’s favorite. I made a cranberry sauce -I hope I have the recipe still- it was delicious with BH Londonbroil in a no bread sandwich.

After at least a year of “us vs them” his goal is to turn it back into the friendly community it was a couple of years ago and to rein in the crazy spending of the past board, most recently $18K for 12 chairs! 11/14 -182.6- (Trend weight 184.1) My son and I have lots of local errands to run today. Tomorrow we may travel out of town as he is getting very low on his foods (his diet is so limited from the Autism). I would much rather wait until later (maybe the weekend) for the trip so that I can try to shed this Kalamazoo weight before adding insult to injury with more travels. Hopefully we’ll find enough to tide him over while we are out today. Local prices are very high and the choices are so limited.
11/15 -181.4- (Trend weight 183.8) I had a whole (very small) cheesecake left over from my trip this past weekend. I didn’t want it to go bad/stale. I cut it into 4 chubby pieces and my son and I each had a piece yesterday. I fit it into my macros by choosing lower calorie/carb items for lunch and dinner. We will probably have the last slices tonight and it will be gone. I still can’t throw away perfectly good food. Poor is a mentality and once poor, always poor in many ways. It’s just my upbringing but I won’t let it stand in the way. I can always juggle my macros in these instances, at least in theory. #workinprogress.

@jlwalker6 I ❤️ LOVE the idea of turkey and cranberry sauce tacos! I'm gonna steal it! We always have stuffing for Thanksgiving, and everyone has some. But it's the only day of the year most of us have it. So it must not be a loved food. Same with green bean casserole. I could easily skip them both. But cranberry sauce is a must. And I like a turkey so I can freeze lots of leftovers for sandwiches, salad and other good things. We love tacos with all the fixings. DONE!6

I'm in! I'm back for the first time since 2018 and was so excited to see that the "Just give me 10 days" thread is still going strong!! This was so motivational for me last time around

11/15 - 68.1kg - (+0.2) expected a little gain as I had that big drop earlier in the round and had double servings at dinner last night. I'm breastfeeding and there's no adjustment on here for that, so just figuring out the sweet spot for my daily calorie goal still. Any suggestions would be great! Calories ✖️ - Active ✖️ - super hungry, bit of a blow out, didn't log everything. Think I need to increase my calories a bit.
