Nov 10: started back on MFP last week. Was on WW but I couldn’t stick with the plan. I’m scared to weigh myself hence the unknown starting
weight. My goals for today are to stick with single portions and drink water. Baby steps.
Nov 11: 271.2 Finally weighed myself this evening. I’ve decided to try intermittent fasting on a 16:8 schedule. This is my first night of fasting. It’s
tough because I’m so used to eating nonstop from the time I finish dinner until I go to sleep at night. I know this will take some
getting used to.

Good job everyone! I think we are all doing quite well! I am nervous about Thanksgiving. I am not planning on counting calories, because it will be too time consuming and hard to figure out. I am planning on having small portions of the foods I like. What are you all planning on doing? I have to weigh in the next morning and I am worried that if I see a gain, I might find it hard to keep going.1

Nov 9 189. Been so busy and have had migraine after migraine. Hoping those are going to be less often with me cutting dairy out (or eating it way less). Went my happy place this past weekend (Disney) so hoping it will help my mood and focus. Eating lots of fresh fruits and veggies.
Nov 11 188. Been doing doing. Ate some creamy pasta last night and woke up with a headache. But it’s gone now and getting lots of stuff done. Going to Taste of Sams today and hoping to be good. Lol.
Nov 15 187 a tummy bug helped with that loss.

Nov 21 189 feeling disheartened. Idk what’s going on here. I started feeling better Saturday. Haven’t eaten crazy so idk why the number is up. Could be ovulation and working out but it’s so frustrating.1 -

Birthday celebrations this week, + Thanksgiving. But I've kept with my workout (biking and aerobic dance), and am feeling pretty good. The numbers aren't showing it, but I can tell I'm a little thinner in the face. Just remember, the scale is not the only indicator in this journey.1 -

We are going to have one meal on Thanksgiving and enjoy the hell out of it. And I'm going to workout as well. @dutchgirl188 , can you move your weigh in day? Can you skip your weigh in day? Please don't let a gain disrupt your journey. There are always going to be days the numbers spike -- monthly cycles, too much salt one day, simply hungry and eat more, getting sick, random reasons that you can't control. If we only look at the numbers of the day, it's not going to accurately show the progress. It's when you step back and see the overall trend, that's what you're looking for. You can enjoy Thanksgiving AND you can still keep going. You've got this.
@jennigerding19 I am glad you're feeling better. Hopefully these numbers will go down again following the holidays and once you're back to 100%.

Nov 1: 193.0 Candy has been everywhere and I have partaken way too much. That is done. My knee is painful w/arthritis onset and that is impacting activity (scary what this portends). Back to better habits. Drink the water!!!
Nov 2: 192.4 Checked the xray results from monday and i'm stage 2 osteoarth in my lt knee. So fedup with more health issues. I'm already doing so much to reduce my probs. Guess this is a cattle prod (in the knee no less) to lose the weight.
Nov 3: 191.4 TGIF My mother is coming this weekend to visit to see Harvey. We usually go out for Sun breakfast. Have to stay on plan while she is here.

re Thanksgiving - Already have an idea of what will be served (turkey dinner from Gelson's plus additional dishes) so very carb heavy, and assuming lots of added salt and probably sugar, neither of which I use. Plan to start drinking water on the drive up, the fuller I can be, the better. Also plan to take carb and fat blockers upon arrival. We're bringing pies for dessert (costco pumpkin (my kryptonite) and something else which I won't touch). Reading the buffet rules from my other group tonite and tomorrow am.1 -
@ManifestingToday Thank you. The more I think about it, I know that if I have a small gain after Thanksgiving, it is not going to derail my weight loss efforts. I have tried to lose weight many times in the past and failed, but this time is different. My mindset is completely different. I think I am going to weigh in on Saturday instead of Friday. Well, I faced my fear and weighed myself the day after Thanksgiving. I was pleasantly surprised! I have lost 8 lbs this month, which was my goal! I really enjoyed my Thanksgiving. I had a bit of everything, but in smaller portions than I normally would have.

@cory17 I have a sweet tooth too and I have been enjoying the halo top ice cream. A whole pint is only around 300 calories and I think they taste great, plus they have quite a bit of protein.1

@dutchgirl188 Halo Top is awesome! Our store has really cut down on what flavors they carry, but it's perfect if you think you're going to binge on something - you could do worse.
@cory17 There are some lower calorie hot chocolates out there too - I can't find the carnation brand anymore, but the Swiss Miss has a 40 calorie version that I think is pretty good! Stauffers Animal Cookies (the plain, not the frosted), are really decent too -- you can have a big handful of them, and it's pretty low calorie. This is what I keep in the house to keep a treat, but not run the risk of ruin like if I kept Oreo's in the house, etc.
