π Welcome all new first timers to this challenge and "Hello again" to those returning for another month, another year, another round. π
I joined back in September of 2021, which was my first month back on MFP. In the first 9 months, I lost 40 pounds and use this challenge as motivation to stay on track. It is nice to have a medium-term goal that gets broken down into manageable chunks.
Pick your own goal, check in once per week, and at the very end of the month. Let's keep encouraging each other & staying focused on our individual goals.
You can change the dates to suit you, but try to keep it weekly as it shows off the weekly progress betterπ
Pick whatever unit suits you -- lbs, kgβs or stones.

I am a 54 yo F with a desk job. This is my second monthly challenge. I have been working at increasing my steps and exercise routines, increasing the quality of what Iβm eating and reducing the volume. I didnβt get to my current weight/health overnight and I need to remember it will take persistence and time to see the changes in my body.
Give yourself the grace and pep talk you would give someone else!

I am 57 and have a desk job. This is my first challenge. For me it about eating at certain times, my afternoon snack and evening meal. I am attempting to stick to 1,900-2,000 calories a day (on bad days I am eating 2,700/3000). Over the years I have become a compulsive eater and have had a negative relationship with food. I have consistently been overeating in the evenings and I am at my highest weight. This is impacting my mental health and food obsessions. I also want to "jog on the spot" consistently for 10 minutes each evening when I am watching TV. I go swimming once or twice a week.

So, I'm in again, and I absolutely want to lose only 1 kg (about 2.2 lbs) in all December (I'll accept 1,1 kgs, that is about 2.4 lbs, to see the "kilo under", but it'll be okay even if I'll lose nothing).
So:
* 29 November: 55 kilos (about 121 lbs)

* 31 December: (it will be ok from 55 to 53.9 kilos - about from 121 lb to 118.8 lbs: no more than the starting point but also no under this limit).

Month 3 now of setting challenges for myself. November was not as successful as Iβd liked but still successful. I credit this group for making me accountable.
Great way to keep focus throughout the holidays.

P.S. I don't do 10,000 steps at all. I don't have rolls everywhere because I took my sweet time because I was hard headed. I do Leslie Sansone 15 minute 1 mile workouts, 3 times a week maybe. I do the indoor track, but haven't been since November 14th. My weight loss is calories in, calories out. Yes I eat everything, but I track daily every single bite, drink, condiment, etc. Exercise helps but I can't outrun my fork. Yes, I have stairs in my house, this helps a lot. I am a senior citizen so yes weight loss is a little slower. Yes I did WW, the last was on the blue plan and I gained weight on it. Now it's strictly calories in, calories out. I love the concept of Keto, but still love bread, Keto works yall. Intermittent fasting works too, and yes I still do it.

I keep a daily deficit of ~500kcal and workout 6 times a week in the evening (3 split - push, pull, legs) and do just low intensity stuff (walks, slow running, moderate session on the crosstrainer for 30 minutes) in the morning maybe 3-4 times a week.
I also make sure to eat as clean as possible and aim for >150g protein a day. The last weeks I lost in average 1.3kg a week which I'm quite happy with.2 -
