Trying to push the right buttons on the “google box” here to get back into it.
I am not going to get upset about scale readings. I do want to get upset if I don’t log my food intake daily and get some form of movement on this antique body. The scale will take care of itself after that.
Looking back on my history I see that 2023 has been largely unexamined, kind of like my belt buckle without using a mirror. I am going to find it again.
12/7: 223.2
/every bite logged; Group fitness class at the gym/
I remember this now. Eyeballing every crumb, assigning plusses and minuses. Making some good decisions, and some bad.
Speaking of bad, this afternoon is the annual Christmas open house thrown by my insurance agent / good friends. I will see a lot of other friends there too so it is a big social event. Usually when I attend one of these (there will be another next week thrown by my financial advisor) I throw in the towel and enter a giant number in the food log. I am going to try to do something different this year. I hope to employ the +/- tactic within reason but log each bite specifically. No, I will not have my phone out logging as I go. (although it may be a good way to take one of my hands out of play) SO, I will do a reasonable job of memorizing my transgressions for later. My wife and I are treating this as our supper today, so maybe some healthy veggies early in the day would be good to offset the crackers, cheese and wine. Wish me luck.
Oh, and I see lasagna is on the menu at Rotary Club this noon. Skipping that AND the buttered garlic bread. Reaching for the salad.

I like to track averages due to my wild fluctuations. For the same reason, I like to weigh daily so I can see the lows from time to time. It gives me hope.8 -
@pettycoatjunction congrats on kissing “the pesky ten” goodbye!
@musicsax your miles & miles continue to amaze me! I’m sorry the weather has not been supportive…. I’m sure if there would’ve been fewer miserable days you would’ve brought home the 🏆
@jspecies11 ”nevertheless she persisted”. YES! ❤️ this!

11/28 Yesterday: ✅ 1100 cal, macros 6.8k 🚶♀️, 78 min ex, 23 min 💓Z2, 🔥Total 619 cal. Opted out of an add’l walk cuz of fast. ✅ Calisthenics & stretching. Will 🏋️♀️today since fast is over.
Broke fast at 71 hrs.30 min. I wasn’t hungry it was more about wanting to eat dinner at 6:30 instead of 7PM. 😎 I’m usually finished eating by 6PM every night so I wanted to eat earlier for next IF. I learned from the fast that I can live through being “hungry” … It’s 💯 mind over body. One tough part was between 48 and 50 hours I got a mild headache. Ended up sleeping well. Fasting increased my will power - at least the perception 😎. Today: 🎾🚶♀️🏋️♀️💪🏻Onward!
11/29 Yesterday: ✅ 1464 cal & macros, 13.6k🚶♀️, 190 min ex plus addl 63 min 💓Z2, 🔥1193cal plus🔥230 cals Z2 💓 ✅ 🎾, 🏋️♀️& Calisthenics🙌🏻 I may have overdone it yesterday…. 🙃 Calories a little over but I worked out big.
Today’s Activity: I think I’m developing a stone bruise on my left foot and will play the day by ear. 😢
11/30 Yesterday: ✅ 1344 cal & macros, 10.1k🚶♀️, 65 ex min includes 50 min 💓Z2, 🔥480 ex cal incudes🔥255cals Z2 💓.
And ✅🏋️♀️Took it easy yesterday… I wanted to do more, but had to let it go. Cancelled 🎾. Nice weather, so I walked “gently” to town, piddled & walked home. That was a mistake. My left heel definitely needs TLC, ice all day & rest. First injury that I can remember…. Walking is a wonderful time for reflection but will have to “call in” sick for a few days. Will post 👖📸 later this morn.
12/1 Yesterday: ✅ 1288 cal & macros, 4.1k🚶♀️, 👉🏻ZERO everything else. Nothing to track.
Don’t know how I got in 4.1k steps for walking around the house w/a cane (Actually, joking about the cane, but I did hop around, so maybe over counting hops ?!?!!) Ice does wonders but it should classify as torture.
NSVs- I’m mindful now of what & when I choose to eat… Not obsessing, but clearly mindful. It’s turning into fuel only instead of emotion, comfort, or a tastebud party. I’m also congratulating myself throughout the day with increased positive self-talk. I am finding that growing confidence & healthy choices (includes many decisions not just food) far outweigh the dopamine rush or guilt associated w/the fleeting momentary pleasure of BAD CHOICES. Yes, bad. Gotta be real with myself here. For me, it’s about self-discipline-a battle of the mind.
90% of my will-power relies on the fact that my pantry & fridge don’t include temptations. If we have items that my DH wants, by my request, he hides them… 😃!
Really enjoyed interacting on the group yesterday 😎
“Pants-demonium….👖” I am forever learning and inspired. Pumped. Giggles too!
Today: another day of lack of movement …nursing my foot and going to a party tonight with 7 friends since high school… NOTE: 5 of 7 have not/are not choosing health. I do receive passive-aggressive grief from the crew…Some of you have mentioned this before… (The efforts to sabotage, judgments, lack of support, eye-rolling, etc.) And I will definitely experience it tonight!👀 I am prepared. My mom always said… “Kill’em with kindness!”
12/2 Yesterday: 🚫3450 cal & macros, 2.1k🚶♀️, 👉🏻ZERO everything else. Nothing to track.
Not a great day yesterday, but I’m not going to fret. I nursed my foot yesterday, so still no activity. Today I will try and 🏋️♀️ and Exercises that don’t involve weight on my left foot.
Party last night: ✅one cocktail, ✅small portions of appetizer, veal and veggie, but…. 🚫 I couldn’t say NO TO DESSERT! Sugars busted me last night and I feel like 💩 this morning. So I give myself a D. Didn’t totally flunk, but I truly did not plan on eating dessert and I did. So I broke my promise to ME.
Forgiven! MOVE ON. I’ll get back on my plan today. Was it worth it? NO! I will remember this feeling for the next temptation.
12/3 Yesterday: ✅ 1272 cal & macros, 3.6k🚶♀️, Got in 40-45 min of light calisthenics, basketball, and walking with my DGS… But I did not measure it. Negligible activity.
Good news: Decided to get a spontaneous “InBody” and I GAINED 1.3lbs SMM (Muscle mass) and LOST 3.0lbs of FAT.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Woo-hoo! 🙌🏻 But… water retention was up so I’m assuming that was from the party …… Told to 👆🏻up my calorie intake to 1440 because I’m not eating enough…. That’s something I’m not used to hearing!
Yes, very positive but I’m also let down 🤨 that I kicked my body out of ketosis — will now take me 3+++ days to return. I was thinking just how UNSTOPPABLE I would have FELT if I would’ve avoided the carbs Friday night… I must remember this feeling…
My foot is almost 100%. If weather allows, I’ll get in steps & will enjoy full Calisthenics and 🏋️♀️. I’ll figure out how to get it done. Need me some 🌞☀️!
BIG DEAL NSV- I’ve decided to pass on a few holiday parties. I have new priorities. Not going this weekend. Cutting it down to people I LOVE. WHAT A FREAKING WIN!
💪🏻 LETS GO!!!!
12/4 Yesterday: ✅ 1580* cal & macros, 🚶♀️11.2k, 193 ex min includes 75 min 💓Z2, ✅Calisthenics and 🏋️♀️, 🔥1178 total ex cal.
*Advised to eat more/replenish cuz of today’s workout. 🔥
NSV — I took a different approach to my “workout” yesterday. I spent 60+ min on the 🎾court, plus 30+ min of calisthenics / ST at my health club’s basketball court. I had actually never been to the indoor 🏀 ct / gym even though I’ve been a member for 12+ years. I spied TRX bands, weights, kettlebells, heavy balls, balance balls, etc in the CORNER…! While the weight room was busy, the gym was empty. So for 30min the gym became my own personal playground! I simply NEVER would have explored/ventured there without @quiltingjaine ‘s nudge. THANK YOU!! I now feel I can do this🤸🏼🏋️♀️on a regular basis. And guess what?! IT WAS FUN! I felt like I was playing “pirate” & ended up with my personal treasure island. Big score. Definitely planning on ST there often.
👍🏻 on ⬆️cals, macros & 💦. Walked to the grocery store in the afternoon to cap off the day. My foot is ✅.
Today: ready to explore.✨
12/5 Yesterday: ✅ 1503 cal & macros, (becoming more keto vs ketovore- my last several days more protein needed.) Yesterday I planned on taking a tennis clinic in the evening, so I didn’t work out during the day… Then it was canceled. No 🚶♀️no 🏋️♀️. Disappointed with no activity.
Will make it happen today!
12/6 Yesterday: ✅ 1384 cal & macros, 🚶♀️8.1k, 170 ex min includes 45 min 💓Z2, ✅Calisthenics and🔥1447 total ex cal. Sore foot/heel prevented me from extra 🚶♀️yesterday. Actually, too worn out for ST🏋️♀️, so we’ll do tomorrow. Trying to listen to my body better than I have in the past. I realize I didn’t eat enough but I did try.
Today: 🎾, 🤸🏼🏋️♀️. I’ll make sure to pace myself!
🎄Prep: Holiday Dinner with friends tonight - anticipate big eating & drinking around the table. I plan on enjoying a petite filet. No alcohol.

2010 (Age 52) HW 172 lbs
UGW = 130lbs (ceiling)
In Aug 2014 @ 157lbs (down 15 from heaviest of 172lbs in 2010), I decided to take control of my health. I lost 30lbs by 1/1/2015. Weight topped @ 128-132lbs through the end of 2020. Five years!
🎢 Roller Coaster Begins….
2020 through 2021, I fluctuated 132-137lbs. Three more solid years.
8/1/ 2022 crept up to 140lbs.
Dropped to 128lbs again by 9/30 then held 130lbs till 12/22.
2023 Back ⬆️ 145lbs by July 15! 15lbs BOOM! Enjoyed eating & margaritas way too much! Ive always eaten healthy BUT portion control is/was a huge issue. Started tracking. Joined “Just give me 10 days” R231 in beginning of 8/2023. Here we are!
I learned MY choices created an emotional 🎢 roller coaster with yo-yo weight and fitness. My forever goal is to reach 130lbs as a ceiling. Pretty clear to me that once I reached my 60s, I would reach a goal weight and then relax/ drift backwards. So glad 145lbs was the max over the last nine years.
I also noticed that as I aged it became much MUCH more difficult to lose weight. I could loose 15lbs easy in 6 to 8 weeks up to my 60s … This is absolutely not true anymore!!!!

I'm jumping in mid round, because I fell off the wagon hard the last few days. I need to pull myself together and hold myself accountable. I've played around here the last couple rounds, but need to be more consistent. The good, the bad and the ugly.
I'm Julie. 35 years old. Married. SAHM to two year old twins. From Arizona.
SW: 139.8
12/4: 139.8. Had McDonald's AND a blizzard from Dairy Queen. I went way over on my calories. On the plus side, I ran 6 miles (6.2 miles in 61 minutes. Trying to get 10k time under 60 minutes. Very happy with the progress of this run). I'm feeling a bit guilty about the choices I made over the weekend. I'm going to give OMAD a real shot this week and see if it's right for me.
12/5: 138.0. I stuck with OMAD yesterday. I'm a little on the hungry side, so I need to keep tweaking it to see if I can find a macro split that helps keep me from getting hungry. I like the idea of just eating once a day and then forgetting about food the rest of the day. It's just not quite working right now. I'm giving it the week though to figure it out. I ran 3 miles last night.
12/6: 136.1. I'm happy some of the bloat is going away. Yesterday was good, I ate well (OMAD) and went for a run (3.5 miles). Even did some light strength training with resistance bands and pull up bar.
12/7: 137.7. PMS bloat, I'm pretty sure. I'm having a hard time getting under 130. It's starting to get me down a bit.10 -
My second round! Feeling positive! I am focusing on a low-carb breakfast every day and a no carb lunch.
I lose weight quickly at the start of low-carb and then things slow down and motivation can start to drain. Hopefully I will start understanding the "lifestyle not a diet" phrase. Posted my "before" picture this afternoon. Weighing every day for my own motivation. I am always rounding up to the next pound. No more decimals.

I'm late, I'm late....I broke the tip of my charger cord off in my iPad and can't get it out. I even took it to the Geek Squad. No go. What a pain. On a happier note, my new pupper Charlie passed his Canine Good Citizen test this morning. He had no training at all when we got him 8 weeks ago. He's doing great! And of course I have to share another pic of him. :-)

I'm forgetting to check in without my iPad. But happily it's at an indie computer place getting a new port. I don't realize how much I use the silly thing until I can't.

Off to an annual women's holiday art fair this morning with a friend. Always a fun event and I always find a treasure or three. Happy Saturday!

I finally reorganized my yarn stash this morning--Yay! I feel so accomplished, and I can see what I have in different weight yarns without pawing through them. No I need some hooks to hang projects bags up out of the way. Next up, my watercolor supplies on the other side of the closet. I keep telling myself if I declutter and organize enough, I'll lose weight. :-) I hope you have a lovely Sunday, all!

Yay—my iPad is back! 😁 Ate a bit too much yesterday. I’m not worrying too much about it at the moment. I’m trying not to obsess so much about food.
12/07 - 189
Ok, not a great round, but not horrible either. I’ve decided to take a break from daily weighing and tracking food for the next two rounds to see what happens. I’ve done both consistently over the past 8 years, and while that routine worked for me for a long time, in the past year it has not and I’m shocked, embarrassed, sad, angry that I’ve gained 10 pounds in the past year. I so I’m going to try something different, although I’m not quite sure what at this point. Anyway…I do like reading all your inspiring posts, so I will do that, and check in about what I’m doing to redirect my focus from food. See you in R144.

@jspecies11 I’m not sure what clicked in my brain a few days ago but I’m glad to be back to sewing. I have SOOOOOO many projects that I’ve started and not finished! Oh, and several years ago I started referring to myself as a sewIST rather than a sewER, at latest in print. I don’t want to be a waste water disposal system either! LOL5

11/28. 132.5 Fasting today, I hope. Up before 4:30AM - UGH! Ate at Art Quilt potluck, had a glass of wine after I got home and enjoyed my half pita and 1 ounce of melitzanosalata. Nothing but water and coffee since about 6 last night. We’ll see what today brings.
11/29 132.0 My intended fast didn’t last. My stomach was growling, REALLY growling by 11. At least I didn’t go crazy. I’m good with that. Today I have a nail appointment and a dermatology appointment. Should have some time to kill between so will walk in a store probably. Tonight is community Bingo with pizza for dinner. I think I’ll pick up a salad for myself and try to avoid pizza crust.
11/30 133.0 at 4:30AM! Dinner at Bingo was fried chicken. I will attempt fasting since DH is taking friend to lunch. I have a quart of homemade chicken broth in the fridge.
12/1 131.5 DH’s lunch was cancelled yesterday. I did a “modified fast.”
12/2 133.0 Ran errands Nothing sounded good for dinner so we just started driving and went to Jimmy John’s. Unfortunately I got salt and vinegar chips. BOY! They were delish!
⭐️⭐️Starting today I am getting back to exercising and eating better.
12/3 132.5 Ran 1 errand yesterday, helped a neighbor, and SEWED for the first time in a long time. Making “stuffy” Dino’s for DGGS for Christmas. Got over 5000 steps, my modest goal.
*Not sure how I failed to post yesterday. I was oddly emotional when I read that some people consider a lingering hummingbird a sign that the spirit of a loved one is near. Yesterday was my mom’s 111 birthday
although she is celebrating in heaven for the last 30 years.
12/4 132.0 It was a good day. Great Greek side salad and 1 beef skewer. 1 skewer of beef “leftover”
12/5 132.0
12/6 131.5 I’m so happy I am back to sewing! I’m making my DH a few things and have made “stuff-y” dinos sfor DGGS. I need to add faces which aren’t part of the pattern.
12/7 132.0 I have 7 days to lose enough to fit into something fit for a party.6 -

11/27 …..180.4….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
11/28 -179.8- (Trend weight 182.2)

11/30 -182.4- (Trend weight 182.0)

12/05 -180.6- (Trend weight 181.7)
12/06 -179.4- (Trend weight 181.4) So FINALLY, after multiple travels, a large food-infested birthday party and a Thanksgiving Feast, CRAWLING, Scratching, HISSING, begging, SNARLING, fighting, I am back into the 170’s. However, I need to see my 177 to feel firmly planted so that one meal, one social event, one travel doesn’t put me back over. Plenty of those are coming! I wish I felt better so I could get in a bit more exercise but I’m still full of phlegm and coughing badly. I’m doing my best to get up some of my Christmas Décor so at least I’m getting in more steps with more time on my feet and less time on the couch. Fa-la-la-la-la.
12/07 -179.2- (Trend weight 181.2) Today I realized that since my handymen haven’t been coming for reno projects (since mid Oct), I have been able to drop a few pounds. Clearly I can plan my meals and mealtimes better. Also I can exercise in more ways and more often. While I can’t wait for them to finish the “big” projects they are working on elsewhere and return to my projects, the privacy and freedom has been nice and beneficial too. I’ve also been getting a bit more sleep since I don’t have to set an alarm most days for their arrival. I’m sure it will be challenging once again when they return. But in the meantime, I am going to grab the ball and run with it as much and as often as I possibly can, even in spite of the upcoming Holidays and commitments. On another note, I took a turn for the worse last night with this illness. I’ve been pushing myself with decorating and online shopping. I babysit DGS today, overnight and tomorrow so I’ll have to keep him at arms length. If I’m not any better, I will definitely have to travel to an emergency room this weekend for xrays. Ugh!
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Hi! I'd like to join in this round. I've found a bunch of motivation following along the threads, so I thought I'd try joining in. I may not post/weigh daily, we'll see how this goes!

12/05 DNW ~ Can not find scale after moving - Decent eating yesterday and decent meals planned for today but no scale to see how I am affected.
12/06 DNW ~ Can not find scale after moving - New scale arrives today so should have a starting point for the next round. I'm sure it will not be good. The scale dependency is interesting. If my some amazing miracle - I am less than 220.2 - I may just reduce my daily weight-ins...but if I'm up... then I know I need to see that number daily!!!
12/07 216.4 ~ I am somewhat shocked and not sure what to make out of this....But, I'll take it and move on.. In theory, it's like a two week loss but I really have not been focusing on eating well or exercises. I've done much better this week as far as food goes but exercise is the bare minimum.6 -
Round 243: JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS

Round 228-242 – skipped
12/4M
I'm joining WAY-late:
- I have my 3rd round of interview for a great job that I'm so excited about. I want to de-bloat ~2# so that I fit into my suit better and face is a bit less puffy.
Thanks for your support!
I need to stay focused.
Going forward, I need to stick with this, so that I don't continue my yoyo-ing of 5-10#.
Being so short, 10# means next size clothes.
12/5T
De-bloating: one day at a time.
Going well.
Helps that I’m not Late-Night-Snacking again: that’s one of my biggest problems.
So excited for tonight’s dinner:
- I got oxtail and lamb shank from local butcher: YUM!!!
12/6W
Feeling hungry this morning.
Looking forward to walking with a friend this afternoon, and catching up chatting.
12/4M 121.2 ⬇️ debloating
12/5T 120 ⬇️ debloating
12/6W 118.4 ⬇️ debloating
12/7R 118.8 ⬆️
= still 2.4# de-bloat in 3days: I'll take it!
I wanted an afternoon snack, but I tried on my Friday interview outfit and confirmed that while it’s not too tight, the waist of the pants are snug, and therefore, no room for snacks.
Drinking lots of water to de-bloat.
Thanks,
Amanda
