I started doing Leslie Sansone's Walk At Home Videos and it really works with calorie counting. I still do intermittent fasting most days. I have a holiday event tomorrow at noon with my high school friend's home. I will get some steps in at Costco or Sam's Club today too. I really hope everyone is enjoying this holiday season.
I have done Leslies videos for years, she has tons on YouTube. They are great especially when the weathers not great for getting outdoors.3 -

Total loss for December: Up 2.8 pounds over three days and up 1.6 pounds just in one day today, but overall down for the week and down almost four pounds for the month. Some of this is because I was sick, but I also have been working at it. It looks like I am actually back into my goal range again for sure. I will keep it here and I might lower that range again to where it was pre-COVID.8 -
Starting a little late but I want to lose and not gain in the homestretch of 2023.

Starting with this week, Iβll consider only the week average weight + the calorie deficit of the previous week as stated by my Fitbit.
* (November 27-dec 3: average day deficit: 697 cals)
Kilos from 55.8 to 55.1
* (December 3-10: average day deficit: 701 cals)
Kilos from 55.1 to 54.7
* (December 11-17: average day deficit: cals)
Kilos from 54.7 to 54.1
Not so bad as it seems: Iβve been sick, so first three days of week ate very little. But now Iβm catching up π
* (December 18-24 average day deficit cal)
* (December 25-31: Goal: it will be ok from 55 to 53.9 kilos - about 118.8 lbs: no more than starting point but also no under this limit)

Cori, single f, kids grown, grandkids mostly grown, Just turned 74
Goal for now 164.6 = 24.99 bmi
12/1: 172.0, trend 173.6
12/3: 173.8, trend 173.7, have had a little stress the last couple of days. Over now. Caused a little bad eating. Just a hiccup. The big news is, just for right now, I am completely pain free for the first time since May 2022. Fingers crossed π€ I will see much more pain free time in the future!
12/10: 178.6, oops! Wrong way
12/17: 174 got a day ahead of myself.4 -
My name is Donna. I am 63 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5β 5β tall. My highest weight was 253 back in 2016. My MFP start weight was 235 in 2018.
Start Weight (from Nov 30, 2023 ): 181.4
Goal Weight: 177.4 (4 pound loss)
End of Challenge Weight: xxxxx
Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (Iβll know it when I get there!)
Weight in blue makes me blue because itβs a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because itβs a loss. Weight in black means no change.
12/01-181.4-(Trend Weight: 189.1)-
12/03-182.0-(Trend Weight: 181.9)-
12/10-179.6-(Trend Weight: 180.7)- Iβve been sticking to my diet plan pretty good but Iβve been incredibly sick (non-covid). I just canβt shake it and have to wonder if I havenβt had pneumonia. I live so far from a hospital or anywhere that would have an x-ray machine and I just havenβt felt like traveling. My appetite has been just fine so the struggle continues, but my exercise has been practically non-existent since any exertion makes it hard to breathe. With that said, Iβm happy with my progress over the past week. I was worried what would happen when I couldnβt βburn it offβ. Luckily, Iβm not baking for the holidays yet since Iβm too germy. Once I start that, all bets may be off. I feel pretty strong in my resolve most of the time, but put me near a bag of sugar and I morph into something Iβm rarely proud of. Letβs hope this year will be different. But honestly, I just donβt see myself EVER thinking homemade fudge is no big deal or that freshly baked cookies are not that tempting. Oh, I have so many changes that I need to make!
12/17-178.6-(Trend Weight: 179.6)- Well, I was doing a little better earlier in the week but Iβm starting to slide down that slippery holiday slope. I am still down 1 full pound from last week but I will not make goal if I donβt start getting some control. The hard part of the month is yet to come! I will say, however, that I was finally able to feel comfortable enough in the 170βs to cross off the 180βs on my colorful chart below. My BMI also went from obese to overweight and that was a very long and arduous fight! Iβm proud of what Iβve been able to do in 2023, especially in the second half. Oh, but the road ahead is still a very long and bumpy one. Still so far to go!
12/24-xxxxx-(Trend Weight: xxxxx)-

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Trying to put some extra work in now ahead of the holiday, so Christmas doesnβt bite me so hard lol

Hey everyone!
I lost 4lbs in November's challenge. My challenge this month is maintenance, more or less.
I weigh on Tuesdays because weighing on Fridays gives me a false reading... I always weigh less on a Friday than on a Monday.
I have not tried so hard this week, as I had dinner out and a takeaway at the weekend. So I feel lucky to have lost a little and don't quite trust it!4 -

December 8:206 Iβm confused by this but Iβm not hopping on the scale for a recheck. π²
December 15: 209 I think I may have eaten an extra cookie or two recently βοΈ I feel just as confused by this as last week seriously. Eyes on my goal.
Do you only weigh yourself once a week? If so, you can expect some significant fluctuations that may or may not just be anomalies. Weight loss is not linear. What I do is weigh every day and try not to pay too attention to that number. I put the number in a spreadsheet and then look at a trend. I calculate a 7-day average once a week, and I keep a running 10-day moving average. I also run a weighted moving average that also looks back ten days. This is a good approach because it gives a higher importance to today's weight than to your weight several days ago with the least impact from the number ten days ago. I get plenty of fluctuations, and the averaging smooths them out.
As an example from my own real data over the last couple weeks, if I look at my weight over a certain four-day period, I would have thought I gained 5.2 pounds. If I had looked at a four-day period that started the previous day, I would have thought I lost weight. If I look at the seven-day period that ends today, I would think I had actually lost 9.2 pounds. I doubt it. If I look at my weighted moving average over the last seven days, I can confirm I'm losing, but only 2.1 pounds. This is an unusual weight loss because I'm sick, but it's a good example.
For a deeper explanation of how it works, check out The Hackers Diet - especially the pages on Signal & Noise.
There are online tools that do all the math for you.
I do weigh in daily.
Iβm using this more of a keep me on track through the holidays.
Iβve never read the hackers diet Iβll have to check it out.

Plus my wife has been so kind to bring me cookies from work a few days this week haha. I love cookies! Hope to get to goal by the end of the month!7 -

@lislisa123 Yes, surgery leads to swelling i.e. water retention, itβs a perfectly normal part of the bodyβs natural healing process. All that retained water will leave again when itβs no longer needed π I hope you feel better soon.
No exceptions. No excuses. π₯
π Discipline is self-love. π10 -

Yes, I was lucky, it didn't hurt after, and no cancerous polyps. One thing to celebrate this year. Lol.
Thank you.
