Hi, I'm a 50+ yo married female, 5'6", and tired of looking and feeling like I do. I’m making changes to get out of the Obese category, to look good in my clothing, and to have confidence in public again.

Happy New Year! I was in this group the last 2 months and I am happy to be here again!
I am 37 years old, 5'11" and currently 208.8 lbs. I will weigh in every Friday.
I started MFP on 10/27/23 and I have lost 15 lbs since then. Each mini goal I hit I will reward myself (pedicure or new outfit, etc.)
My goals are to lose about 2 lbs per week, track and weigh my food every day, go to the gym 3-4 times per week where I will speed walk 1 mile on the indoor track and do weight lifting for 45 min split into back/biceps, legs/abs, and chest/triceps.

UGW: 165.0
1/ 5: 208.4 (a small loss, but better than nothing!) Still recovering from overeating a bit during the holidays. A non-scale victory: I have gone down 3 belt notches since November!

I’m down 2lbs since Wednesday, so glad it’s going in the right direction!
I’m planning to weigh Monday, Wednesday and Friday, fully appreciating there will be ups and downs doing it this way.

This month I'm trying to accomplish getting back acquainted with the gym. I took a whole year off, and my body is really feeling it. I was really nervous about even entering the gym so I have to overcome being a introvert and extreme homebody that I made myself the past few years. Nutrition wise I want to stay in my caloric intake zone and stop snacking. I don't drink sodas but I have been drinking Gatorade and Powerade's so I opted for some crystal light in my water now instead. One main thing is just staying motivated when I'm so used to being in solitude and comfort of my own home.2

@mollyfinnegan Congrats! And post at whatever intervals works for you -- some find weighing daily works, some really prefer weekly, etc. So do whatever you find keeps you motivated to keep going.
@LovePammiek I'm too introverted to try the gym, so I'm wildly impressed you're making this effort. You've got this! All of these small changes (staying at a set calorie goal, stop snacking, subbing Crystal Light instead of Gatorade, etc), all of those will add up over time. It's not going to be overnight of course, but if you stick with it, it's going to have an effect. Wishing you the best with this, and welcome!3 -

Hey everyone. Happy New Year!! I'm excited to be back on MyFitnessPal. Back in 2017. I lost close to 90lbs using MFP and going Keto.
But since having a baby, hitting my 40s, etc. I have packed on the pounds. Im hoping to get healthy and in shape again.1 -

Jan 12 193. Frustrated to see this number again. I’m ovulating this week so it makes me bloated (and other tummy issues). My Fitbit broke and had to get a new one. I guess it had really been messed up because my new one says I’m not getting my steps in like i thought because my old one said I was. Grrr. So now to make sure I get my 10k steps everyday. I am proud of myself for upping my water intake and working out twice this week. I went to a night Zumba class with my friends and had a blast. Usually I’m too tired after work to even think about working out but we have put this on the calendar as a weekly thing.

@ferret150 Welcome to the group! I hope you find some inspiration here to keep going with your goals! As you can see, we're all in here for the same reason.
@jennigerding19 I hope you can calibrate the new device so it's getting accurate step count and meet your 10k Steps goals. I've always had a really bad time with step counters -- they count everything (arm movements, moving in my chair, etc), or I'll walk up the hall and it will say I did 40 steps when I clearly didn't. I gave up after a while because I didn't feel like it was really capturing the truth.
I've done some Zumba YouTube workouts -- they're really fun! I hope you can work that into your schedule more!
