I I also have a bad knee. I've been taking physical therapy for a month and I can tell a big difference in my knee and when I started and now I still have another month to go hopefully by then I'll be able to walk more easily. I've ordered me and exercise bike the doctor told me it would also help. I've been snowed in all day as well but the temperatures are not negative here thank the

I'm not weighing myself. I don't like the idea of it. Back in the 1800's they didnt' weigh themselves (guessing) .... why should I? As long as my jeans fit or get a little loose...I'll take that as my win. More importantly I want my mindset to be happy, joyful and proud. Instead of shame, guilt and anxiety.
I agree, Whole Foods are the way to go. Easy to shop, easy to prepare, and simple to log.
I don’t understand why you would not want to weight yourself tho. I weigh everyday. It’s up, it’s down, and sometimes it hasn’t changed, but it is key in knowing what is working for me. And it gives me a tremendous feeling accomplishment when I see results going in the right direction. I would encourage you to weigh, at least once a week. You will be happy you did.
Back in feb. 2023 my father passed away. I gained 7# overnight. and then started using food as a coping device. Mentally I was using the scale as punishment for how bad I felt, and it making me feel worse. So my therapist advised I take a break from it for a while. I stopped seeing her, but continued with the not weighing. I know I need to track the body weight .... My goal is to be brave for once before Jan 30th. I may take photos as well. I did take my body measurements - which had not changed.
I used to weigh in daily and just use it as a number. Somewhere down the line my brain got scrambled and It quit working.4 -

I exercised and I stretched today. Lower body weight training that really used my hamstrings.
Food is logged and I published it to a few social groups I am in. Hoping that helps me for accountability.
I realized sometime this morning, that I used to make a plan, follow the plan and....when I wanted to go off plan, I said "NO". For example, having a serving of cheese, kinda wanting more. I would say, NO, that's all I get for today, you can have more tomorrow! and then, put it on tomorrow's plan. Some how I stepped off that train, and need/am going to / get back on it. Today, as my day 1.

I have about 65 pounds I would like to lose. I move in about 16 months. I figure if I lose a pound a week I can reach my goal by the time I move…slow and steady.
Hydration has always been an issue so my one small step will be increasing my water intake2 -

Sorry to hear about your father passing 😭. That has to be tough. How are you coping now? Obviously, take the time to get back to a good space.

I posted on Jan 11th about not having a weight loss goal. Did some measuring today on my calves, biceps, waist, etc. I went from a size 38 pants down to a 33. I thought this was great. I've only been tracking food for the past 2 weeks and got some good insights. While I did lose, it was not all fat. I had neglected my protein intake my entire life. The measurements of my calves after my daughter commented "you've lost those calf muscles" concerned me. My legs were never fat. I had a beer gut (I admit it). I was military and with all the walking and running for over 20 years, there was no way my calves were ever small. My strength is the same as 20 years ago, but the muscle bulk has gone -- I want it back. Stupid me, didn't watch protein intake, so with my exercise regimen I was likely burning muscle as well. I don't ever get enough carbs or sugars in my diet according what I've tracked the past two weeks, and I had only been getting half the protein. I always aimed for 60grams when I should have had 120 grams a day. Lesson learned and now I can make adjustments thanks to this app pointing me in the right direction. I actually have to eat more now to realize fat loss instead of muscle loss. So weird, and I thought I was smart. Protein, Protein, Protein!!!!5

I know exactly what you are talking about! I do this too. I keep putting foot down and saying no more, but then my discipline and focus fly out the window! Time to really make that switch back to getting diet and fitness under control! We can do this!3 -
I’ll turn 78 in 2024, and I’m looking to have an accountability partner of similar age who also desires to lose weight and age gracefully I am fighting arthritis in my leg and swelling in my feet ankles knees from Venus insufficiency. I want to overcome these challenges and still live a productive, active life, are there any takers out there?2

I joined this forum because of the 7 day plan kind of requested a forum like this. I'm trying to drop from 217lbs to 155lbs. Currently on my journey I'm plateaued at 195.6 lbs. I've been there for about a solid month. I'm hoping to read the forum and be inspired by other stories.3

I'm traveling in an RV and sometimes it's difficult to get regular exercise. I had a little setback lately and gained a couple of pounds back, so I am looking for some encouragement and distraction, especially at night, when the cravings hit the worst! My husband is losing weight without even trying and likes to snack at night, which is sooo tempting! Thanks for being here for me!5

I've been taking physical therapy for a month and the make me stretch my legs and I can tell a big difference in my legs and posture as well. I've been snowed in for a week now. It snowed here all day. I didn't love to be able to go outside and walk . I ordered a exercise bike but the weather has the mail held up so I've not received it yet 😞2 -

Best way is to log everything, and then go back and determine what is working for you. Best of luck!

Hi! I've used this app a couple of times over the years, never consistently though like I am this time. Really going to give it a good go for 2024! ❤️ would love some friends on here that are on the same path 🥰 I'm a wife and a stay at home mum of 4, I am terrible with just snacking through the day as I'm usually really busy with the kids and around the house, so I just grab biscuits from the pantry as I walk by,or chocolate, lollies etc, always sugar 🫠 trying to get into a healthy weight range for my bmi at least. Currently 67kg, my first goal is to get to 64 then will reevaluate. Little goals 😍 (I'm 161cm tall)3

You can take care of the nasty snacking habit by getting rid of your snacks. Make sure you have healthy alternatives before you start craving those snacks. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Hi I’m Joe. I’m in my mid fifties and have struggled with weight & body issues since my youth. I have been fortunate to have always had good numbers; cholesterol, BP, blood sugar, ETC… I’m ready to take charge of my food intake, weight and overall health. I now think of my longevity and being here as long as possible for my family. I could use to lose 40-50 lbs. I’m glad to be here.😊3

My therapist says if you don't feel it you're not doing anything. She's really tuff on me but I need it because I'm first to tell you I'm lazy.2 -

I'm not 78 I'm 54 but I'm fighting arthritis in my knees and shoulders and I definitely need to lose about 100 pounds.1 -
Hi everyone praying everyone is doing good today. I'm going to be honest I didn't do very well over the weekend I skipped exercise both days and gained 2 pounds. So it's back to exercising today and eating healthier this week. I'm glad I have guys. I hope you all will keep me accountable of what I eating.3

@nanerkay proud of your transparency! We got almost a foot of snow last Monday, and were woefully unprepared. My survival instincts kicked in, and we ate..and ate.. and ate and ate. And we snuggled and played video games and had a lot of fun family time, but we hardly moved our bodies.
I, too, am getting back at it this week. We're going to work hard this week, and eventually, we will build these habits.2 -
Arose719 I mostly set her alone with my cats. I sat on the couch watching Blueblood all weekend. I also had a lot of snow over the weekend. I did get today and did 20 minutes of low impact aerobic workout.3

I'm so excited I got my exercise bike today. It took me all evening to get it together. I can't wait to start my exercise routine with it 💪 it also had exercise bands with it to use.5

Happy New Year!
I want to stop playing games and return to my fitness routine.
I've had back-to-back surgeries since June last year, most recently yesterday.
Making sure I was committed, I started my journey on Christmas Eve, and as of this morning, I am 8 lbs down.
I would love a friend to help push me through because some days are tough.
I have more to go to achieve my goal! Please message me if you are interested.
We have mutual goals and can support each other.
I too would like to have a friend who can walk this journey with me and motivate me when I need it and a kick in the pants too.1 -
Hi everyone. I needed to get back on track and guess what? Sitting on the couch didn’t help. Gym had great price for PT. With help I’ve become stronger and now taking classes. Not afraid because I’m going in for me. Panty lines and all ! Aren’t the young gals shocked when when they see this gal with proper form and using heavy weights. Do it for you! We’re here for you.5
