@jennysweet58 and @dawnbgethealthy thank you very much for your support, advises, and good wishes! When I am stressed I eat high calorie foods. I can’t really relax while eating healthy, and I have been used to eat to comfort myself. And these days I really feel like I’m hungry all the time.

I have days like that too, where nothing I eat seems to "fill" me.

@dawnbgethealthy Thanks for sharing the great pics of your weekend getaway. You & your old friend make such cute snow bunnies! I'm hoping she didn't slow you down too much and you were able to have a wonderful time! What's this about Cancun in May? Gosh, I'm jealous!

@dawnbgethealthy Thanks for sharing pictures of your recent getaway to the Snowflake Festival. The scenery and activities made for a memorable experience, I'm sure. Looked like fun… and cold! :p

@dawnbgethealthy great pics! Thanks for sharing. I am going on vacation starting on Friday afternoon. We will be traveling to Cozumel, Costa Maya and Honduras. Warm weather here I come! If I can figure out how to post pictures I will share some!

She is a new friend actually, and it was quite the opposite, I would slow her down. I encouraged her to keep going without me. I did what I could, I definitely skated on the Whiteway, but of course I have issues in my ankle and knees. I went over to the arena to see some of the figure skating, while she did another 10km loop on the lake : - )

Cancun is indeed with a very very old friend. He is turning 60 in late May. He lives in Victoria BC. He will golf every day and I plan to lounge around the pool reading books : - ) It is all inclusive, so there will be lots of activity, entertainment, restaurants etc. We won't have to worry about anything.
This is what is going to get me through my grueling 7 days per week for the next 105 days.
Both of our flights have layovers in Calgary Alberta, then we will be on the same plane from there to Cancun, so we will arrive together and can split a taxi or whatever to get to the resort.
I am going to drop my "line" at my second job at the beginning of May so that I can get all of my garden planted before departing at 5am on May 22nd.
I am going to stay "casual" at that job until November when I might take another line.
I am dog tired, but doing this will pay for my trip, my heating bills, property taxes, house insurance etc. A means to an end.
I plan to enjoy my garden and my summer this year without working myself to death : - )

    Yes, please post photos!
I think that I will try to get over to see Cozumel while I am in Cancun.

    Oh yes, the shovelling.
We are at +3 during the day and -5 overnight, so I moved some slush yesterday after work and have only one job today too, so will try to move some more because it just turns into glare ice overnight. Very bumpy if not shoveled.

Trying to get a few inches off while I can before there is no more daily melting. Plus when I have my second job I am not home until 9pm and it is already frozen.

So happy that you have your lovely fireplace for your impending snowstorm. Sounds so cozy and wonderful to be snowed in with a fire in the hearth : - )

    Thoughts:

While other challenges may show bigger losses (or gains), it really depends on what date you are looking at with me because I do go up & down quite a lot, especially with my frequent required day trips. However, from Jan 1st through Dec 31st, I lost 16.0 pounds in the full year of 2023. That is what I have lost and KEPT OFF. While I am very proud of that, I know that the road ahead is long and will be a difficult one since I still have so far to go and so many health related obstacles in my way. Each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I can make, no matter how big or small. I am also grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.

Accumulated Loss or Gain: 0.6 lbs Gained

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

    Day 22-01/22-184.2-(Trend weight 182.7)

Day 23-01/23-185.2-(Trend weight 183.0) I went out to dinner with my son yesterday locally as we ran all our errands to prepare for the coming snow today. I really watched my quantities and came in at 1172 calories and 102 carbs for the day which I thought would be just fine. However, my logging shows it was very high in sodium. Another one pound gain is making me really go over my logged food of late. It’s not just how much we eat, it really is the quality of the food too and how it affects our bodies. Today I will try to move more and choose more healthful and helpful foods as I await the snow storm expected to hit again today. I cancelled my out-of-town dental cleaning due to the expected weather so I am hunkered down and have no excuses for not getting some fitness in today too. But first I am going to go bury my head under a pillow and cry, kick and scream – just for a moment. It’s a way better plan than eating my emotions, right?

Day 24-01/24-184.6-(Trend weight 183.3) It’s nice to see a drop this morning. I went over my food logs carefully last night. I have been over in sodium pretty consistently. That is a no-no for my heart condition. I also have slacked a little bit on the exercise on many days. I am trying to tweak what TIMES I eat which is pretty confusing to me. I think I am also eating too much bread. Just because it is low calorie and low carb bread doesn’t mean it can be a free-for-all. I have found that I’ve gotten pretty lazy about cooking these past couple of months. I am trying to rely more on sandwiches or frozen meals that contain other starches and preservatives I don’t need. I’ve got to get my inner Julia going and start using up the ungodly amount of food I have in my freezers and pantries. Yes, both those words are plural! Not much time left in the month. I want to make the most of a long month like January since February gives us less time, even with it being a leap year.

@dawnbgethealthy Any sign of your porch prowler lately (or while you were gone)? Hopefully you scared him off for good!
