Just Give Me 10 Days - Round 249

@deepwoodslady my (nurse) suggestion is to run current liver and kidney levels through your MD. Your diabetes MD may have a dietician you can meet with. ADA seems to recommend staying at your general protein goal, not too low or high. Source of protein should be balanced between plant and animal. Sodium content with processed foods is probably your greatest risk factor for maintaining good kidney health. If you choose protein drinks stick with sugar controlled options. Hope that helps6

SW RND 249. ⚖️ 216.1 lbs
GW for the week 214lb.
1/27 ⚖️ 216.3 lb not surprised it's up as changing my eating style has effected my system🥴. ✍️
1/28 ⚖️ 216.5 coming in under calorie goal daily, staying away from wine. I know the weight loss is there, just waiting for my body to catch up with my new eating style and workouts. Poor food choices
1/29 ⚖️ 216.1. Still under calorie goal. White wine sitting on the deck today. ✍️Journal and food log complete.
1/30 ⚖️ DNW ✍️ stayed within calorie goal. Journal and food log complete
1/31 ⚖️ 216.1lb stayed under calorie goal. ✍️Journal and food log complete
2/1 ⚖️ 214.8lb ✍️ all food logged next day. Over calories, poor food choices. But I logged it all. Mentally, putting the food in my food diary is helping me reset for a new day
2/2 ⚖️ 215.6 let's talk about that popcorn yesterday.....
2/3 ⚖️ 216.1lb ✍️ journal, and log done

@quiltingjaine so envious of your sewing retreat! I'm still trying to finish my food canning. Moving freezer to shelf stable. My sewing room is very neglected!1

I am going to focus on eating 3 meals per day and staying within my calorie budget. For exercise, I will focus on getting 22 active minutes per day. I also need to keep showing up here no matter what the scale says!
SW RND 249 : 162.9 lbs
1/27 : 163.8 lbs Well I am disappointed in myself. I ate more pizza than I had planned. My kids help DH make the pizza and it is the one night I have off cooking each week. At the time, I felt like I had to show that I appreciated their efforts. I know that was just an excuse I used to justify it to myself at the time. I can of course tell them how much I appreciate their effort and not let them get in to the cycle of needing to see people overeat the food they make as proof that they have cooked well.
1/28 : 163.1 lbs
1/29 : 162.9 lbs I slept terribly after having my first coffee in almost 1 month. I give up coffee whenever I need to lose weight because it seems to slow my progress. It's probably because I have a lot of milk with my coffee and I have a habit of wanting something sweet with it. I have only black tea instead but gosh the coffee I had yesterday was good.
1/30 : 163.8 lbs I had a hungry day and ate at maintenance.
1/31 : 164.7 lbs
2/1 : 163.8 lbs I have had a rough couple of days but I am back on track again today.
2/2 : 163.4 lbs
2/3 : 162.9 lbs
2/4 : 163.6 lbs It doesn't look like I will lose any weight this round and I need to make sure I don't throw in the towel. I need to change my mindset so that I think of this as the way I should eat and move for the rest of my life now.

Hi, I'm Charissa
Thank you, QuiltingJaine, for keeping us focused in 2024!
So here we go 2024... my motto -
🏋🏾♀️ Don't think, just do it!!
Goals this round:
- Tracking/Under Calorie Budget 🍎
- Macros - hit Protein ✅
- Water - 64oz minimum 💧
- Closing my rings M-F🚶🏽
This is a critical round for me. I stalled at the end of last round which messes with my mind. I'm approaching where my body likes to "live" ~ 213.
I will focus on my 4 goals and try to ignore the scale!

1/27: 215.8 🍎✅🚶🏽I don't think I hit my water yesterday!
1/28 : 216.8🍎🚶🏽Unplanned lunch out....
1/29: 217.0 🍎🚶🏽 A few treats with the NFL games so expected. They were budgeted but just not good choices.
1/30 : 215.8 🍎🚶🏽 Water is a problem.....i need to fix this! Protein is too but not as big of a problem. Fix water first!
1/31 : 215.0 🍎✅🚶🏽Protein macro hit! Yeah!! Today I'm trending to hit 64 ounces. Happy almost February!
2/1: 216.8 🍎✅💧🚶🏽Calorie, Protein macro hit, Water 80 ounces and rings closed. Superfecta! And the scale rewarded me with a gain!! (But I was over in carbs)... That's ok...we know weight loss is not linear and I had more water than I've had in a while so my body is probably thinking...there's won't be more..so hang on to this!🙂 On track for another 80 today!
2/2: 215.8 🍎✅💧🚶🏽 I really despise losing the same weight that I've already lost.... but oh well. Yesterday was good, another Superfecta. I was spot on in Protein and Carbs and slightly under in Calories and Fats. Planning for a good day today so tomorrow should be rewarding.
2/3: 215.0 🍎✅💧🚶🏽Friday was another good day.
2/4: 216.2 🍎✅💧🚶🏽Saturday was good in terms of food/macros , water and exercise. But I after dry January, I wanted wine. Yes, it does show on the scale. Hoping tomorrow will get me back to 215 to end the round...and no more wine for a while.
2/5: xxx.x 🍎✅💧🚶🏽
@tiabirdie56 ~ I missed that you were struggling with his bursitis and sciatica! Both sound very painful. I hope you find some relief real soon. Please take care.
@deepwoodslady ~ I found a program that has me at 1800 calories and focuses on macros of 150 protein. I too, thought that was a lot when I started but I did some googling and came across recommendations for protein depending on your activity level. The RDA is .36 grams per pound (I think I got that from Harvard) but that is to meet the basic requirement or keep you from getting sick.
I can't find the site I stumbled on, but here's one that says if you're extremely active, you should get 1 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound of goal body weight.
https://health.clevelandclinic.org/how-much-protein-to-eat-to-lose-weight
At the end of the day, you need to pay attention to your body and if there are medical conditions, then make sure you are talking to your medical doctor before making any significant changes.
I work out 6 times a week. I do strength training for about 30 minutes a day and then the treadmill for 30 to 45 minutes a day. I've been doing 150g of protein since the beginning of the year, and I'm down 8.6 pounds. I also significantly reduced wine so I can't give protein all the credit
I eat very similar to what @tiabirdie56 has her husband eat, minus the cottage cheese and I don't eat the egg yolks.9 -

@itladyee, Thank you. Yes I'm doing much better. I actually did a few reps of lower body strength training today.
I also get information from cleveland clinic. I like their website. You are doing great with your protein intake! Its hit and miss with me. I'm going to have to add a protein shake everyday to get my macros up.4 -

@cortner1195 Thanks so much for your recommendations. I had no idea about the sodium content affecting my kidney's! I am going to see my endo on Monday and discuss some recent bloodwork I had. I'll be sure to discuss my current kidney health and my protein recommendations. Thanks again so much!4 -

02/03 -182.6- (Trend weight 182.8) There was something in the house that was haunting me. It’s gone now. Up 0.8 today. I will be making soup for dinner. Homemade chicken noodle so there will be pasta. I will try to make the rest of the day accommodate that.
02/04 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW) I was awoken this morning by a surprise visitor so I didn’t remember to take my scale into the bathroom to weigh. It is likely that the scale is up due to the homemade chicken noodle soup and fluid retention from yesterday. It usually happens after I make that pasta-rich soup. I had more for lunch today since I had plenty to offer my visitor. I’ve been pushing water all day which I may also retain temporarily but is much needed to flush away the sodium eventually. I hope you all have been enjoying your Sunday wherever you are. Here in northern Michigan it hit the upper 40’s and was sunny and unusually warm and wonderful for an early February!

RND 249 (my fourth)
SW (first round): 155.8
SW (this round): 152.4
1/27 - 151.3. Starting off on a good foot. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #27 6 miles. This was the longest run I've done since September 3rd. Feels good to be building mileage again. First weeknof marathon training complete.
1/28 - 151.9 - weighed but did not post - very busy weekend. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #28 3 miles
1/29 - 151.4 - Very Monday today. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #29 - 3 miles. Just two days left in the challenge. I will have to think of something different to include in my daily notes after wednesday.
1/30 - 151.8 - crazy week (and it’s only Tuesday 🙁) - my eating has been sporadic but I am keeping my choices healthy and within my calorie budget. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #30 - 3 miles - just one day left to go!
1/31 - 151.2 - Winter Warrior Challenge Day #31. 3 mikes outside (in michigan) every day in January. Total 102 miles - 87 running. Very happy to be done, but happier that I stuck with it and didn't quit even though there were many days I wanted too. Expecting a gain tomorrow. Monthly friend will likely be visiting on top of having gone out with friends and had a beer and salty fried food and not nearly enough water. Still within my calorie budget but not by much and with the salt and lack of water to flush it through my body I expect the scale will go the wrong direction.
2/1 - 151.9 - did not post
2/2 - 151.6 - did not post
2/3 - 151.4 - did not post
2/4 - DNW - wheels fell off the bus the past few days - I weighed each morning but eating/hydration was not good and I did not complete my food diary. Back on track today - except that I didn’t weigh (so I guess not completely back on track - but I’ll get there). I was running late to get out for my run and just put on my running gear before I remembered I needed to weigh. 6 miles today. Time to start ramping things up - now that I have a good base - I need to build on that, add speedwork/hill runs into my weekly routine and be more consistent with my strength training - 16 weeks until Marathon Day.

🙂Todays thoughts...
- (Day 59) Su - 02/04 ✴ 219.0 lb. ~ This has been a difficult round. I Have religiously weighed daily, but that has been it. Somehow, I don’t know when or how I injured my knee. The same one I had a partial replacement on last fall. I have been having increased difficulty getting up from sitting, walking (even on a flat surface), and sleeping. I keep waking up when I move and crying out, which wakes the hubby. So, as you can imagine, my exercise routine is at a standstill. In turn, I have lost momentum on my goals. Luckily, I finally have an appt. with ortho in the morning. Fingers-crossed.
- Water 60oz+ each day
- Eating healthy; fats, vegetables, fruits, high protein & fiber, 1450 kcal.
- 30min of (IM) intentional movement every day; walking, strength, dance, etc.

[*](Day 51) Sa 01/27 ✴ 217.4 lb. ~ A really, lazy day. Lots of downtime, quite enjoyable really. There is still time for IM, will meet that goal before bed. Other goals are on point.
[*](Day 52) Su 01/28 ✴ 217.8 lb. ~ Darn it! After last night’s IM, I had a few hours of good function with the knee. However, overnight, and throughout today pain is again increasing lateral, posterior, and under the kneecap. 3 months post partial knee I had hoped the pain would have lessened. I made an appt. with ortho but it is another week away so I’m limiting IM to stretches and upper body work. I have struggled the last few days with choosing good food rather than just watching calories consumed. I need to remember the quality of the calorie counts!
[*](Day 53) Mo 01/29 ✴ 217.8 lb. ~ Again with the increase. Not a good day, It was warm out for a change and I got out of the house for a short walk, but ate badly. It will get better, I continue to learn, but depression hit me again. Winter is hard.
[*](Day 54) Tu 01/30 ✴ 218 lb. ~ Really?! I don’t even know what to say. Losing 2 lbs. took forever but it jumped back on without any effort. Maybe if I ignore it, it will go away.6 -
HW: 194.7 (88.3 kg) April 25, 2020
SW WT RND 247: 180.6 (81.9 kg)
END WT RND 247: 177.4 (80.5 kg)
END WT RND 248: 175.1 (79.4 kg)
1/27- 174.8 (79.3 kg) TOM started. If I follow my usual pattern, I'll have a bit of an upswing/plateau the next few days followed by a dip at the end. Also, I ate pollo a la crema for dinner, which usually causes the scale to go up the next day.
1/28- 173.9 Didn't get my expected upswing today. Scale trying to make a liar out of me.
1/29- 174.5 And there it is. Mondays and Fridays are our busy days at work. I have a very sedentary job, but man, work wiped me out.
1/30- 174.3
1/31- 173.6 (78.7 kg) Ended the month strong, hoping to continue a pound and a bit per week. Once I reach 170, I'll recalculate my calories.
2/1- 173.3 Good start to the month. I really like that these 10 day challenges overlap the months. I feel like it helps me carry momentum forward.
2/2- 173.6 I drank about a quarter of my calories today (soda, not alcohol) which is not the best, but it scratched an itch. I'm not a coffee or tea drinker and I was dragging midmorning. That and a snack was lunch, chicken Alfredo for dinner. Having an ounce cheese on hand or something may be a better choice in the future. I also forgot I have Lifesavers in my desk drawer which are nice if I just want the taste of something sweet.
2/3- 173.1 Saved most of my calories for dinner. Still not sure if that works for me. Some days like today, yes, other days I feel like I end up too hungry before dinner and start craving everything at once. I may try to aim for more of a balance like 50-60% left for dinner instead of 70-80%.
2/4- 171.9. Day Nine! I think this is artificially low, would like to end this round in the 172 range, but we'll see.

I’m a 65 year young Oregon gal working on getting rid of those last 5-8 pounds. Last round I hit my first goal of 135, now working to hit my next goal of 130. The plan this round continues to be a minimum of 10,000 steps 👣, 2-3 days a week at the gym🏋️♀️, logging ✏️ everyday with no snacking after 8:00, and limiting the 🍷to social events only. And of course guzzling the water 💧!!!

65 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 249 (my 179th). Thank you @quiltingjaine for the new round, as always, so grateful.
Goals for this round; not going to set any numbers as I only self-sabotage when it looks like I’m getting there! So, to weigh less at the end than the start and an NSV to to reduce my resting heart rate (it used to be in the mid 40’s range, but has gradually crept up and is actually 52 at the moment, also no binge eating.
Good luck everyone for a successful round.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

1/27 142.8 – 8.31 miles walked; 55% exercise calories eaten back. Travelling 2 miles each way today for DGS’s 4th birthday bash at a soft play & then to a dinosaur themed restaurant, I’ve already checked out the menu, not my type of food; all fried ☹ , but will chose the least damage and limit the amount of fries that are served with it, & of course there will be birthday cake!
1/28 144.4 -no structured walking yesterday, only exercise was running around soft play with four little GGC sandwiched between 2 hours each way sitting in the car, calories well over.
1/29 144 – 9.31 miles walked, all exercise calories eaten back.
1/30 144.4 – 9.42 miles, all exercise calories plus eaten back ☹.
1/31 143.8 – 7.24 miles walked. Lunch out with DSs, tried to be as sensible as possible. It’s DH turn to have some health issues; 2 weeks ago both is hands swelled up quite badly, GP suspected osteoarthritis & booked him a full health check, his blood pressure was up and now his bloods have come back & he also has high cholesterol. He is very fit, not overweight, an arborist still working at 63 including climbing trees daily, he does however eat plenty biscuits, chocolate, cakes etc. it seems that all these have finally caught up with him!! He has 2 medical appointments coming up in the next week, one for his blood pressure and one for cholesterol. Seems he is going to be more aligned with my eating!!
2/1 142.4 – 11.04 miles walked, no exercise calories eaten back.
2/2 142.4 – no structured walking as child-minding little DGS, hence ate maintenance. DH has been put on statins for 3 months and advised to moderate his diet (basically to more in line with myself) he is hoping to reduce the cholesterol to negate the need for medication.
2/3 141.8 – 6.65 miles walked, all exercise calories eaten back.
2/4 141 – 8.53 miles walked, a third of exercise calories eaten back.
2/5 141.6 – 8.7 miles walked, 70% of exercise calories eaten back. I should have known it would go up for the final day lol!!, that’s the weight loss game for you !! 😊, Still I am happy with that number, I managed to turn myself around (yet again!) from binging and gaining, 2 pounds lost. Am almost hesitant to share that I feel better in myself as so often that opens me up to self-sabotage yet again; I want to stick with the process this time, I must keep this in mind. Two NSVs at the end of this round; finally, my resting heart rate has come down to below 50 bpm, it had crept up to mid 50s, I know that this is linked with the quality of food consumed as well as the number on the scale, yesterday it was back to 49 again, I need to continue to work to get it back to my norm. Also, I had started again with a daily series of toning exercises specifically targeting stomach, midriff & backfat; my size 12 jeans are now feeling quite baggy, I’m tempted to get my size 10s out again which were my normal wear when I am at high 130s weight. I’ve always kept the larger size for times such as this! On to the new round.
👍👍This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE & I AM WHAT I EAT!!!!!

1/28 205.0 Seems to be setting me up for an epic bounce back. Snowy out today.
1/29 206.5 That seems more like it. I liked the number yesterday, but it wasn't something I felt was real. Maybe dehydrated? scale battery? I will get there lol
1/30 204.8 I must be fluidy. Please stick please stick. Chronic heart failure and medication play this game with my weight where all I can do is stick to the plan and trust the process. I seem to be dropping into the "set-point" territory where the losses slow down and I stall out. Knock wood it hasn't really happened yet, but I weighed between 200 and 210 for years and years. Last couple of years it has been more like between 215 and 225. As long as I don't undermine my own results because I am proud of the number, I should be okay. ( Note to self: Rewarding myself with food for a loss is unproductive)
1/31 205.4 I really don't want to weigh multiple times a day to figure out if I am weighing correctly lol. Testing and changing the scale batteries today.
2/1 205.4
2/2 205.4
2/3 207 February 1 I started reintroducing things I thought might be affecting my psoriasis. Day 1 was a little veggies, day 2 a few more veggies. Yesterday I was craving a protein shake. Calories were not over, nothing else out of the ordinary.

2/5 205.7 After this rollercoaster round I am happy to be just down a little from where I was. Thank you @quiltingjaine6 -
Round 249
January 27 – February 5, 2024
62 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
GW Maintaining between 124 - 126
Continuing to figure out maintaining, and to work on best nutrition and exercise.
History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have two parents, 87(mother), 85(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse (father has since passed and I am DPOA, Personal representative AKA executor, trustee, and oversee the majority of my mother’s care). A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

Day/Weight/Comment
1/27 – 127.2 Why the drop finally today? Yesterday was fly home (possible flight fluid retention) and I ate an airport lunch of real onion rings and my first pressed cuban sandwich. It was delicious, but very salty (part of the purpose of onion rings ). Did my best to compensate with the rest of the day. I tracked everything using best estimates. This week home is going to be challenging. Today I face going out to eat while catching up with neglected friends. But I have checked out the menu and have my tentative plan of ordering the mussel appetizer as my entrée. I hope to save enough calories today that I can have some bread to sop up the sauce.
1/28 – 127.4 Handled my day well and made good choices. Did not track everything, and plan to sit down and recreate. But there is nothing I would really change, so that’s ok. Today, I face celebrating three people’s birthday, my widowed 87 year old mother, son’s girlfriend, and grandson who is turning 4 this week. More food challenges to be!!
1/29 – 127.8 good enough. I did eat more than I should have last night. It has gone untracked as well AND I was chugging water overnight from the sodium. Onwards…..
1/30 – 127.2 While I did over eat yesterday with regards to total calories, those calories were skewed to the morning ( I started the day by eating 4 chocolate chip peanut butter cup cookies for almost 1000 calories). Today should, in theory, be straight forward, Still in Mass. My mom’s UTI is still raging in her mind. Yesterday, she was telling me to be sure to get the kids to the bomb shelter. Just a week ago (day before her 87th birthday) she was a totally different person. Though she is on antibiotics, her mind has gotten worse over the past few days. Today is a previously scheduled appointment with her psychologist. Fortuitously timed.
1/31 – 127.4 No reason. Actually was a little under yesterday. But digestive system is not up to par, so that may be coming into play.
2/1 – 126.6 Was over some, but everything was tracked yesterday. Was DGS’s actual 4th birthday. We got to visit and share the evening with #1, and #2 (5.5 months). As for my mom, I should have shared that 1/31 was fantastic with her pretty much back to dementia baseline. Yesterday was mixed. Today, I will be with her for the afternoon, then I return to Florida tomorrow. I expect that she will be emotional. The good thing is that she has great aids, though she is losing one to childbirth (due in 2 weeks and last day was a week ago). Aging is certainly looking a lot rougher to me.
2/2 – 126.8 Early morning, flying back to the Keys.
2/3 – 125.8 Finally the scale showing me some love. Amazing because yesterday started with and airplane flight, and ended with ridiculous condominium drama that I got sucked into the middle of. Going to head out shortly for a before sunrise fast walk. I need it!
2/4 – 125.4 Amazing and that is after stress eating TWO pints of Godiva Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice cream BEFORE noon. Should not have even bought them, but they were buy one get one free. Doesn’t the “get one free” refer to the calories in the second pint?? :P
2/5 – 125.8 Scale at the end of the round is great, for me as well as “the boys”, my cats. I am between the 124 and 126 again… barely, but good to see. Han, the chubby boy is staying under 12 lb (good enough). Harry, whose weight was dropping scarily, is up potentially a lb in a little over a month. My goal for him (actually both cats) would be about 11 lb 4 oz (if you look in my spoiler, it was almost two years ago that I got Harry briefly into the 11’s). Ready for the next round.

2/5: I dropped much more than expected on this last day, so we'll see what happens tomorrow- it will probably bounce right back. Not sure how that happened, but it's a pattern I'm noticing that I stay the same for days and then drop. I'm cooking more on the weekends; no snacking, no wine. So there's clear info on the culprit in my life:-)
See everyone tomorrow in Round 250!6 -

1/27 ⚖️ 131.4lbs
Yesterday:
✅ macros, cals, 🙆♀️,🚶♀️9.4k
NSVs:
1. Food no longer a “reward”.
2. Continue to see & feel small changes in my appearance.
3. Much more stamina, flexibility and energy.
Experimenting with new macros and kcals this round. Still want 129-130. It’s a psychological thing. Floating around 131–132 feels off -?like I’m on the brink or edge of gaining again… dunno. Maybe it’s just easier for me to “restrict” vs “do” during BAD weather? It’s clear I’m not as active in winter weather… so…. Adjust!
1/28 ⚖️131.6
Yesterday: ✅mac & kcals, 🙆♀️🤸🏼🏋️♀️🚶♀️💦 Great day. worked out in morn… and a perfect afternoon for 4.0 mi walk. Basic food day.
Today: Optimistic. Already got in my 30 min of ☕️ 🙆♀️🏋️♀️🤸🏼!!! (Up super early 3:15.) Weather forecast looks wonderful today & thru the weekend - 🌞 🎾 & outdoors for me!
1/29 ⚖️131.3🙆♀️🏋️♀️🤸🏼🚶♀️🎾💦🥩
Did it ALL! ✅ mac & kcals too😎
NSV: Had quite an emotional day that was “triggering” ice cream, ice cream, ice cream… Said OK-hold that thought…. let’s just eat the steak first and revisit that urge…
By the end of the steak, I didn’t crave the ice cream anymore. Was able to think through the “trigger”, and it just wasn’t worth it! THAT was a huge win!!! Boring yes, but a win! One ice cream wasn’t going to end my world, but it would’ve ended momentum, ketosis, put me back on square one for another week…. The victory tasted waaaayyyyy better than the ice cream!
Today: not sure yet but the weather is cooperating so I’ll be active.
1/30 ⚖️130.8 🙆♀️🚶♀️🎾💦🥩
✅macs & kcals
Wonderful to be outdoors! DGS spent night last two nights - what a treat! Positive day- taking advantage of gorgeous weather.
Today: 🙆♀️🎾🤸🏼🏋️♀️🚶♀️Another day outdoors. Food is planned.
1/31 ⚖️131.8 ✅🙆♀️🚶♀️🎾🥩
macros & kcals. Scale is up or down a pound like clock-work. Puff ball big-time this morning. Probably enjoyed outdoors a little too much. Played Tennis three hours and was feeling it last night. Thought I drank enough water yesterday, but I obviously didn’t … Woke up at 3am. Yuck.
Time for more 🏋️♀️🤸🏼today. Will play a little 🎾 … May also go for a walk want to take advantage of the ☀️😎.
NSV. I sincerely cannot remember the last time I ate a packaged food (bread, chips, protein bar, cookie, pasta-maybe June?)— anything not whole food (except hard cheese). I also make ketchup & mayo from scratch. And, it’s Mardi-Gras (King Cake) season here in Louisiana. (Basically bread sugar, sugar & more sugar). Last year I think I had a piece EVERY day from Jan-March. Not this year- and I don’t miss it! Thank GOD!
2/1 ⚖️131.8 ✅ macros & Kcals🙆♀️🎾🥩. Only 5.2k steps. Didn’t make time for walk I the afternoon. Hung around after tennis too long visiting, laughing & enjoying perfect weather. Lots of 💦.
Today: 🎾 this morn. Will conquer 🏋️♀️🤸🏼. Another beautiful day ahead!
NSV have stayed true to nutrition goals thru thick and thin the last few weeks. Emotional upheavals & circumstances beyond my control (that in the past) would have led me to an evening cocktail, chips & dip, snacking or huge portions. Intense worries for loved ones won’t be solved with a fork. I am starting to consistently conquer letting feelings pass long enough to delay reactions. This is benefiting my life far more than just food. Emotional maturity at 65?!?! Never too late. 😁
2/2 ⚖️132.6 (see NSVs BELOW) ✅🙆♀️🚶♀️🤸🏼🎾🥩
macros & kcals. Managed 20 min of fl🤸🏼🏋️♀️before 21/2 hrs of tennis. 🔥1400+kcals. Exhausted in afternoon. 8.2k steps. Ate a nice pork chop.
Today: more 🎾🙆♀️🤸🏼🏋️♀️
NSV still tracking and still moving forward. 132.6? My clothes are fitting better than 129lbs…. 🏋️♀️🤸🏼 is WORKING!!!!
Answering these now….
I'm thankful for...
I'm content with...
I'm excited for...
2/3 ✅🙆♀️🎾🥩 🚶♀️macros & kcals.
Rest day today.
2/4 ⚖️ 132.9 The scale is STILL a pain in my *kitten*. Always has been always will be…
✅🙆♀️🥩 macros & kcals.
Today: Drink extra 💦 to flush out whatever log-jam is inside of me because I quite simply have no idea what it is…. 🎾& 🚶♀️🏋️♀️🤸🏼
Hope everyone has a positive, beautiful day!
Tomorrow: If I still weigh 132+ I’ll re-evaluate, change things up again and take those puppies off.
2/5 ⚖️132.8 ✅🙆♀️🏋️♀️🤸🏼🎾🥩
macros & kcals. Solid workout. 90 min of 🎾. Another healthy day. Extra 💦!
Gained about one pound this round when I wanted to lose a pound….. Feels like I’m stronger (the gain isn’t fat or water) - but I’m just guessing. I upped my kcals believing I was in “maintenance” but I also increased 🏋️♀️…. So…. not sure. I do know I need/want 130 cuzz that’s where Im more content/relaxed/comfortable … so I’m headed there. I’ll figure it out. TBH, Im cool with getting to know my body better… (it’s just a pound or so for goodness sake!) but…. everyone is so different. Embracing how God made me feels right. (Extra slow metabolism, gain easy/loose hard). It will take TWO freaking rounds to lose TWO lbs so let’s just do it. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Today: 🙆♀️🚶♀️🤸🏼🏋️♀️& a long walk to ponder life’s meaning — will also plan my week’s workouts/& WOE.
Looking forward to R250. Will be a REAL challenge!

The yo-yo is exhausting & unhealthy. Takes up way too much brain space.
I learned MY choices created an emotional 🎢 roller coaster with yo-yo weight and fitness. My forever goal is to maintain approx. 130lbs and IN SHAPE. Pretty clear that once I reached a goal weight I would then relax/ drift backwards.
As I age it becomes much, MUCH more difficult to lose weight. I could lose 15lbs easy in 8 weeks up to 2022 ish … This is absolutely not true anymore!
While active with 🚶♀️& 🎾 it’s clear a ST routine is absent. Time to incorporate ST 🏋️♀️ 🙆♀️🤸🏼as my TRUE focus.

I'm Julie, 35 years old, SAHM to two year old twins
RSW: 132.6
1/27: 132.5. Eating was good, went for a walk and a 3 mile run. We are going through a ROUGH sleeping phase with my boys. 3 night in a row that I got less than 5 hours of sleep. It's starting to get to me. I am determined to not let bad decisions creep in, but it's a lot harder when I am tired.
1/28: 134.4. I was feeling a bit dizzy yesterday so ate a little extra. It probably didn't have to include ice cream, but oh well. Went for a walk, no run
1/29: 134.1. I managed to stay within calories, but they included some McDonald's. Eating hasn't been great so far this round. Went for 2 walks and a 3 mile run.
1/30: 136.1. well this is going the wrong direction. I had a bit of extra salt yesterday and drank a little more water than usual, so I have no doubt it's water weight. No run, but did get a walk in. Food was under calories.
1/31: 133.3. Went for a walk, food was good. I was going to go to the gym, but when I got there, it was so packed the parking lot was full. I didn't feel like searching for a spot and then hoping a treadmill would be available, so I just went home. Probably not the best course of action, but it it what it is.
2/1: 132.6. Sleep has been terrible lately. Not sure why my boys aren't sleeping so well right now. I was under calories yesterday, but I ate pretty bad, as I didn't eat a lot, volume or quality. I woke up extra hungry today. Hoping I can keep food under control today. I have a lot going against me.
2/2: 131.7. A little happy surprise for sure! It's a new low for me! I've been sticking to my calorie goal, but I got to admit, the quality of food hasn't been the best. I need to get back to vegetables and healthy choices. Boys finally slept through the night which was nice.
2/3: 134.6. Pizza and a few beers. Oh well.
2/4: 132.6. Lazy day, but managed to go for a 4 mile run. Saved all of my calories for a steak dinner that my husband made. It was worth it, for sure.
2/5: 132.3. I'm happy with ending the round here. It seems like the 132's are sticking around. Yay!!7 -

1/28 172 ate well. No exercise. Slept well. One of those really NICE boring days where everything went well. Quietly.
1/29 oops
1/30 176 here we go again. Long day Sunday, paid for it Monday. Lousy eating both days, even though I planned ahead for Sunday. No formal exercise but lots of walking Sunday, lots of rest Monday. No sleep Sunday night. 5 good hours last night. Looking forward to a lot of sleep tonight.
1/31 175.4 Still feeling bad. Should be over it by now. No exercise. Decent, not great sleep.
2/1 need to eat better today. No exercise. 4 hrs sleep
2/2 Forgot until after I ate. Lots of errands yesterday. Slept 6 hours. Finally feeling more rested.
2/3 177 ate badly. Walked. Bad sleep. McDonald's at 3 am just WON'T get the job done.
2/4 177.6 2 of 3 meals were good. No exercise. 8 hrs sleep.
2/5. 176 ate better, no exercise, but moved a little, slept well. Feeling better today.

🏋🏾♀️ Don't think, just do it!!
SW: 216.4 end of round 248
2/5: 217.2 Crap! Had no plans to go over in calories, I did...the snack fairy came to visit. I knew I wouldn't close my rings since it was Sunday/rest day.... Water (ha!) I've really got to start reading that book about emotional eating...When things don't go right, I have very little resolve and I HAVE to fix that. So yesterday was moving along...not an excellent day but not in the toilet as of yet. I was about to prepare dinner which included heating up chicken breast strips in the oven. I turned on the oven like I normally do and walked away. I heard "tick, tick, tick"....which wasn't normal.... a few minutes later, I smelled gas. I checked the stove and there was no heat or anything. I turned it off and waited about 5 minutes and turn it on again. Normally it defaults to 350 degrees but it said "pre" (like pre-heat). It made the noise again but nothing happened and started smelling gas again. .... So I can probably cook on the stovetop and use the microwave to heat the chicken. I put a ticket in with the apartment complex but I was concerned if it was continuing to leak gas as I now had a headache. I called the emergency maintenance line and long story short, they said call 911. I really didn't want to call 911 but I also wanted to be safe than sorry and also confirm that it was ok to use the stove top. I did and they told us to leave the apartment until the emergency team arrived. They were there in about 10 minutes and they checked it all out. At first they said it was nothing and I just didn't wait long enough for the oven to heat (which annoyed me) but then they realized that it wasn't working and it was emitting gas. They said what I smelled known as gas, really isn't gas, it's something they add to the gas to alert you of a potential leak... At any rate, they used this gas sensor and all was good and they cleared me to cook on the stove top so dinner was not a loss. So after all this...my husband says ..I'm making a drink, well I could use one as well. So that makes two days of alcohol and it shows on the scale. But up this morning, worked out and back on track for tracking, water, closing my rings and hitting protein. Just didn't want to end the round with a gain! Oh well, moving on....
@onewomanswalk ~ how was your ortho appointment? Hopefully they can guide you to some relief and you can get back to your goals.

1/27 - 191.6
Happy Saturday! Mine will be crazy, running to a friend’s house several times to let two of her dogs out while she’s off at a dog show with #3 and her hubby is driving one of the little Shriner cars at the circus all day. In between I’m going to take my first stab at a full groom of Charlie by myself. I show groomed Aussies for decades, but Cocker Spaniel coiffures are a whole new world, what with clippers. Eek! I hope I don’t butcher him too much. Wish me luck!
1/28 - 192.4
Salt. My calories were on target, but we ordered enchiladas for dinner and they tasted salty to me. It’s fine, I’ll just drink lots of water today. It’s snowing to beat the band right now, so other than a dog walk, I’m planning a cozy day at home. Enjoy your Sunday, all!
1/29 - 193
Yikes! 😳 Has to be delayed residual from Saturday. It’s ok, I’ll get rid of it.
1/30 - 192
I was planning a walk this morning, but it’s sleeting and there’s a thin layer of ice on everything, so guess my exercise will be some light cleaning, another stab at dog grooming, and then knitting—I’m making DH a sweater he requested (which he’s never done before) and have just one sleeve and the neck band to do. Then back to the cardigan I’m knitting for myself. 😊🧶
1/31 - 192.6
Sigh. But I did snack a little last night, so not unexpected. I haven’t completely finished trimming Charlie, but I did pretty well with his furry little face. 😊
2/01 - 192.6
I had a major calorie blowout yesterday so expected a spike—it will no doubt come tomorrow or Saturday. Back on track today.
2/02 - 193.4
Yep, there’s my binge on Wednesday. I expected it to show up. All good.
2/03 - 193
Still on track, and the binge bloat it coming off. Always shocking how long it takes. It’s cold and wet here today, so I’m probably staying inside. Off to my friend’s house to knit & chat together. I finished a nice wool sweater for DH yesterday, back to the pretty cardigan I’m knitting for myself. 😊
2/04 - 193.6
Well, phooey. I did veer a little off track yesterday, but didn’t think it was that bad. Cold, wet weather definitely bring out my inner bear—I mostly want to eat, fatten up, and sleep. Where’s my inner gazelle? Gotta find her! 🦌
2/05 - 193
Ugh. This round is a bust for me. I know some of this is salt/water (canned soup yesterday tasted very salty to me), but obviously I can’t ride that excuse forever. I know the biggest help would be not to eat after dinner, and I just haven’t stuck to that plan. So that will be my one and only goal next round, no matter where my calories land at the end of dinner.

It's been a while since I've been here, but decided to focus on weight loss again and this has always been a helpful tool for me. Lost 30 pounds last spring. then gained a few of those back. Have kept up my daily walks, but need to concentrate on nutrition.

02/05 -184.6- (Trend weight 183.2) Horrible round for me. I’ve got to pull myself up by my boot straps and get back to business. The next round does have one day of travel, but otherwise will be PHENOMENAL for me. How’s that for an affirmation filled with positivity! Bring on round 250!
