A few days ago I bagged up the last of my plus-size tops for the thrift shop.
I no longer worry about finding the closest parking spot: I just park wherever, and walk as far as I need to.15 -
I had about a week and a half of going what I thought was “off the rails.” Apparently I only gained one pound, and now I’m back on track.20

Went shopping yesterday at a really cheap shop. Everything in the store used to be too small for me. Bought 3 pants, 1 size medium, 1 size 11, and 1 size XL. Didn't bother me at all. I know it's not me. It's their sizing. So much more confidence and acceptance of my body.14

We decided to make pancakes for breakfast. Instead of bringing out the jam I remembered that we have both blueberries and raspberries in the freezer and pumped up the volume of my plate without adding more sugar 😃

Yes, berries are sweet, but they come that way. If you make jam, you take an already sweet berry and add more sugar! If it's jelly rather than jam, you don't even get the fiber because you just use the berry juice. Berries are good plain and simple.8 -

I walked and jogged a total of 7.87 miles yesterday, without any such plan. And then I ate a lot b/c I was hungry, but still came in under goal. Sweet!19

It was a nice day. I hadn't had a run in a week, and if I'm going to make a habit of it, I have to DO it. Garmin told me that my training status was "recovering," down a step from yesterday's "maintaining." So I put on road shoes (didn't want to deal with the mud on the local trail) and set out.
I had considered running a little farther than I did, but decided slow and steady is good. I still ended up running a bit farther than last time, and that was farther than the time before. Slow and steady. And yes, I'm slow. As I increase distance, the speed might come.
The NSV was in part that I went. It was in part that I enjoyed myself. I also was pleased to see that Garmin says it increased my VO2-Max a tiny bit. A three-part NSV. Yippee.18 -
May seem silly but not making easy Mac at 1am after a few cocktails. LOL oh and also not finishing all of my French fries. Usually I am convinced I need to finish everything on plate and trying to work better on listening to body and what it actually wants and not just eating to eat. Anyone else?!20

This may not quite be appropriate, but I'll write it anyway. It's not SCALE related even though it is WEIGHT related. Lead weight.
I had loaned a SeaSoft SCUBA lead belt to a friend to wear when she walks to help build bone density. It's an issue for her sadly. She stopped by the other day. I had recently bought some new brick SCUBA weights from a thrift shop. I have a lot of lead. I took some of the new weights and made a different belt. I have several different weights depending on what gear I'm wearing and whether or not I want to use weight in my BCD or even if I'm doing freediving.
So I realized I had a combination of belts that weighed as much as the weight I lost. I asked my friend to hold them. She was shocked. So was I. I used to carry all that weight around ALL THE TIME.
As an ancillary tidbit, she commented that this is one reason she has to work on bone density. She's always been a small person, so never benefited from toting around a lot of herself. People with excess weight are inherently strong, especially in the legs, just because they have to carry themselves around. When we lose weight, we have to find other ways to maintain that strength and bone density. I'm working on it, but no way am I putting on all that lead and walking around. Oh my.
As another ancillary tidbit, after losing that weight, I need less lead to get off the surface. Adipose tissue floats. Big people need bigger weight belts to dive. It's nice to have a smaller weight belt for when I'm topside!17 -

This made me laugh bc one of the FEW things I enjoy about being heavier is how well I float.
Like, if floating were an Olympic sport, I'd be a medalist.

On a recent walk, I came across a short steep hill. And my first thought was, "it'll be easier to run!" I'm still astonished that this crossed my mind, because traditionally my strategy would have been to walk up there slowly with frequent breaks
So I ran, briefly... and it was fun, which is even more amazing. 22 -
My NSV today is having enough sense to take some rest time for a tweaky, poppy knee. I had planned several workouts that I just cancelled, and chilled on the sofa instead.
Slow down, brain. I’m not going to get fat again in a day, and I stayed under goal anyway.21 -
I rucked with about 5kg for 1 minutes and found it a lot more challenging than I was expecting! I used to walk around with an extra 20kg!13

I was at the gym today. I made progress and improved my performance on some exercises. That's expected. I added a few exercises, and that was nice too. All it all it was a good day. But that's not my NSV.
When we show up, we give the staff our member number so they can check us in. There's a clipboard to write your number down if they're busy. No big deal.
Well, when I arrived today and greeted the staff person, they called me by name and welcomed me in. I didn't have to give my number. I am going often enough that the recognize me. THAT is the NSV today!25 -
I went cross country skiing twice today, totalling about 13 km. I think the most I’ve done in a day previously is 9km. Today was approaching the edge of my current ability, but a good baseline for the future.
And I went around parts of the trail that we’ve previously deemed too difficult for me ☺️22 -

I just realized I don't need to hide anything any more. (Well, maybe a little) I can look at ALL THE CLOTHES.20 -
Two today: got out for a full-moon-lit stroll with my pup, covered 3.25 miles and feel great. Also had a healthy breakfast afterwards, and logged. All this despite scale-fail this week, so I'm kind of proud of myself. Staying on the horse no matter what.

My NSV is that after a week of careful logging last week I didn’t lose an ounce. Not an single ounce. The NSV is that Im still here and still logging. I know how my weight loss works. One week I’ll lose then next I won’t( or I’ll hardly lose anything) In the past I’ve given up when I’ve logged for a week and lost nothing, but I’m still here and still logging.30

I got out of the grocery store without buying the pack of cookies I have bought each of the last 3-4 (or more?) weeks! This was one of my goals for the week, so I am proud of myself.20

Congratulations. That's a big one. I don't buy junk food when doing weekly shopping. My rule for myself is, go out and get a single serving if you can't withstand the craving. With few exceptions, my laziness overrides my craving and I skip getting that single serving entirely.
Every day I log in here after not meeting my goal *or* maintenance is an NSV for me.11 -
I always used the handicap toilet stalls because I really was uncomfortable in the regular stalls. My hips were just too wide. But now my hips are narrow enough that the regular stalls are comfortable.29
